Inter Duo running s-l-o-w anyone else have this too?

My Intel Mini Duo with a 2gb RAM upgrade(Gigaram from Newegg) seems to be getting slow on the internet after about 2 days use and when I go into Activity Monitor when it is slow it is saying I have 1.61gb free RAM and page in/out are 13461/0 respectively.I begin seeing spinning beachball everytime I go on the internet no matter what site it is. I have Comcast and according to several internet speed tests I am geting a little over 6mb download speed and it is hard wired to the router but a direct connect to the modem makes no difference at all.I have even gone so far as to take it over 2 friends house and hook it up to their cable internet and it was the same result. I have repaired disk permissions,ran the drive utility,did an install and archive of the OS and this still seems to happen. This thing at present is slower than my iMac G# 500 running 256mb and Tiger which I feel is pathetic. I have had more trouble with this Mini in the time I have had it than ALL my previous Macs put together and feel pretty frustrated. I have Apple care but if I wanted something to work on all the time I would go back to my PC. Anyone else having this kind of experience ???

Well generally the only problem has been internet connection and speed issues. At first I had a real hard time getting it on my network with a wired router connection and only Airport would connect, then I got ethernet port to talk to router finally and it has spotty internet connection at best and speed is somewhat lacking at times especially considering it is a Core Duo with a 2gb RAM upgrade. In all honesty until the internet connection issue is resolved with this I could not recommend this to anyone as I realy feel they have more bugs to work out of the Intel changeover at this point in time. I am seriously considering pushing the issue of a new machine with Apple and if I get one listing it on Ebay and washing my hands of it and getting another G4 tower and doing some upgrades on it and living with it and pocketing the difference in $$$$$ but this will be determined by the way it runs over the next few days as I talked to Applecare this morning and they had me clear out the internet caches,history etc and it SEEMS better but if it only lasts a few days than I am right back in PC land again and in that case my 2.4ghz PC was a trash find I have $200 in soup to nuts and I can just go back to that for free and keep it running myself.Do not get the impression I am bashing Apple products as I have had 7 other Macs of various flavors and speeds and all were used and gave NO problems at all and for a new machine I find this very disappointing to say the least.

Are you using a home network?
Try the following :
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Location services is NOT running all the time, only when the arrow appears in the message bar. It is not a major consumer of power unless you are actively using it (such as using the Maps app), and even then it is a minor factor in battery life; loading maps is the big user of power in the Maps app. And turning off Location Services defeats Find my iPhone.
There are only 2 heavy battery consumers, cellular data and interactive games. Everything else (bluetooth, location services, WiFi, etc) are tiny in comparison to these and will not make a significant difference in battery life.

After updating to IOS 8, my cellular enabled iPad will show "no service" unless turned off and completely rebooted. Does anyone else have this issue?

If you are having issues with Xxx_state issue here_xxX, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close

Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -

If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

If you are having issues with your iPad not staying connected to cellular service, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPad -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPad as a new device -

There are many people experiencing the same with the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S. The hardware in these devices is barely adequate to run iOS8. You can look for obvious menu settings (like turning off or minimizing background app refresh) but there is no getting around the fact that these two devices are barely up to running iOS8.

Almost everytime I sign into Game Center or into a game itself my iPad goes back to desktop. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm having a lot of problems sometimes signing into Game Center, or when the game itself is loaded I will click on something and it pretty much crashes and goes back to desktop! This is very annoying. Just not sure why this keeps happening. Does anyone else have this problem and know what the cause of it may be?

My guess would be you don't have enough memory available to run the games that you are trying to play. This is not supposed to happen in iOS - but I have seen too many instances to believe that the iOS can handle it properly all of the time. My suggestion would be to close all apps in the recents tray, reboot and start over again and see if that helps.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
The problem could be something else software related and restoring the device might help, but I would start with this and see how it goes.

I have safari 7.0.2 and OS 10.9.4, everytime I try to install a safari extension such as, Pocket, I get an error message that says, Cannot install extension, I get this with every one of them. Does anyone else have this problem?

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.

If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.

If you upgraded from previous OS, Look in Applications folder for an iWork folder and launch old Numbers from there.
If you clean installed, look for your old install disks for iWork and reinstall.
They will run on Mavericks but they need to be there.

Am sick of going back and forth with what has turned out to be worthless customer support. Have sent them so much info and pictures, no help. All they do is send me links for instructions on how to redeem the codes. I know how to redeem, I have redeemed at least 50 codes. To them I am obviously an idiot though. To me it seems to be a problem on their end, but can't get an answer from them on why it is telling me code redemption is unavailable. Please help! Anybody!

My daughter bought an 4th generation ipod classic without a charger. We are using the charger from an ipod touch and it won't charge. Someone posted online that not all chargers will work on the classic. Anyone else have this issue and any suggestions?

It won't charge and someone online someone posted that there ipod touch charger worked on the ipad, phone and whatever else he had but it wouldn't work on the classic. The ipod did not come with a power cord as we purchased it used from ebay. The ipod was half charged when we received it and it worked well enough to transfer songs to my computer (the previous seller didn't delete their 2000 plus songs). My son then used the same cord on his computer to transfer the songs, but processed an update to the ipod and after that,it wouldn't work. So, I'm not sure if we received a bum ipod, an update issue or we have a charger issue, but the cord we used to transfer the songs came from my son's brand new ipod touch. We've also tried 2 other chargers from ipods we have in the house, 1 being a wall charger.
One individual posted online that he took his ipod classic, mac and phone overseas with one charger and it worked fine on all but the classic. So, I'm thinking that they cords may not be universal. Online I've read that it must be a 6 pin firewire, high power 2.0 usb cord. Or that I need to purchase an applie charger. We don't live close to an apple store and I'm reluctant to order one just to have it NOT work.
My daughter is learning the hard way that buying off of ebay is not always the best solution to a cash strapped 12 year old.
