Inter plant to plant transfer inspection !!

Hi Gurus,
For a material I have activated inspection type 08 to inspect the goods while transfer from one plant to other.
But inspection lot is getting triggered when same material is issued for production although i have not activated inspection type 02.
What will be ther reason ?
What is the movt type for Goods issue inspection so that i can deactivate the same?
What is the movt type for stock transfer from one plant  to other plant ?
Plz suggest.

Hi
But inspection lot is getting triggered when same material is issued for production although i have not activated inspection type 02.
THis Inspection lot must be of 08 as you are using MB1B-->311 mvt type to transfer from one staorage location to other,
08 will also create for storage location to storage n the same plant.
What will be ther reason ?
What is the movt type for Goods issue inspection so that i can deactivate the same?
This is due to 08 inspection type only
What is the movt type for stock transfer from one plant to other plant ?
It is depends upon which mvt type you are using for plant to plant transfer & how you are doing it.
Like for 301 mvt type ;08 only will create.
If you are using 303 -305 method then 02 lot will be created for 303 & for 305 Inspection lot of 05 will be made.
I hope its clear now

  • Plant to plant (STO)Inspection

I want to Quality Inspetion (01-type) when material is transfer from one plant to Another plant. In another plant material is received under  MIGO against Delivary from first plant.I do not want Stock transfer Inspection(08).How can I do this if I want to do Receipt Inspection
    Thanks
    Sanjay

    Hi Sanjay,
The inspection type for 01 inspection type is triggered by 101 mvmt type and through manual lots. In your case the inspection will be triggered by 301, which will trigger 08 insp lot. So, if you wanna do 01, than you need to do it manually by activating 01 in the Material master.

    HI,
While do the stock transfer , make sure that  activate the inspection type 02 ( good issue inspection)for the material in 1001 plant
then maintained the inspection type 08 ( stock transfer inspection )for the 1002 plant.
so system  will generate the inspection lot for the receiving plant 1002.

  • Customization for Plant to Plant transfer

    Hi Everybody !
There is a requirement saying that the system should request Incoming Certificate for the GR which is based on a Transfer Order(i.e. Plant to Plant transfer).
From the answers to my previous query I know that standard SAP does not supports this. So can anyone suggest any config change or ABAP developement which makes this possible ? Please give a detailed answer so that I can follow that and make this happen in my system.
    Regards,
    Manish.

As stated, the system doesn't support the COA requirement when your not treating the plant as a vendor.
    1) Why are they requiring a COA anyway?  There is no business benefit to that.  In every client I've worked for we have done away with these.  It was common practice at one time when plants had separate quality systems and business systems.  But with all plants on one SAP system, data can be accessed for any plant.  If the receiving plant needs to send out COA's they should be generated by SAP so there should be no need to have a hard-copy.
There is no ISO or GMP rule that these type of shipments require COA's.  In fact, when all the plants are on the same system, they should discourage it.
    2) if you really want to check for a COA, include the check as a pass/fail qualtitative characteristic as part of an 08 inspection lot.

  • Inter plant profit determination on Consolidation

    Dear Gurus/Experts,
I am facing a scenario in Consolidation in an Indian Implementation project. The Client is a manufacturing company and has two plants. The production of 1st plant is mostly captive consumed by 2nd plant and also sold outside. Now they are having some local ERP system. In this system, they are recording the stock transfer as Sales. So when goods are issued from 1st plant to second plant, it is done by raising sales invoice with sales tax. However, they do not allow me to see the consolidation entries.
I have thought of treating each plant as profit center and so as show the sales/turnover at plant level as per their requirement. But during consolidation, the unrealized profit will be knocked off. The client wants to show the inter-plant sales also (as the scenario I have mentioned) on the plant level as well as company code level. I am unable to do this as this company is registered with the Registrar of Companies as a single company and have single PAN No. I also cannot go for creating two company codes as this will be out of scope.
Gurus, please help me how I can map this scenario in SAP.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
What I undestand from your post is only one company code with multiple plants.
1.So here you can create a plant as a customer and do the stock transfer.
2.At company code level in p&l you can show purchases and also show sale for the transaction you are mentioning. I am doubtful that you cannot show in this way as it is not following the accounting standard for revenue recognition .
    3. As the company is single entitiy the step two is going to eliminate profit in stock transfer & which a basic accounting principle and legal requirement for revenue recognition accounting standard.

  • Inter-plant planning in REM

Hi i need some suggestions for inter plant planning in REM before mapping in SAP.
Our Scenario is Repetitive manufacturing and we have 2 plants which have 3 assemblies in each plant in case of discrete/process scenario with using special procurement key we can do inter plant planning but in case of REM SAP HELP suggest its not possible but don't understand why it is so?
please refer this link : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/70/442986c48d11d1b59d0000e82d81c3/frameset.htm.
So i want some suggestions from  any one you who might have already experienced this scenario to map in SAP.
As i understand this can be achieved by MRP at 2 plants or with scope of planning apart from these is there any other way which can be simplified the task.
    Cheers

  • Inter plant STO with intermediate G/L Account & profit at Plant level

    Hello Experts,
I have a situation at a client in California. The client does Make-to-Order sales. This client has plants in several cities.
The scenario goes like this. The plant 0020 wants to sell materials to external customer. If this 0020 plant does not have enough stock in inventory, a purchase order needs to be placed with another plant 0010 of same company code.
I know this can be mapped with standard STO Process but client's concerns are:
    1) At the time of PGI, both stock accounts will update once.
But he wants an intermediate G/L account as it takes 1 month to recieve goods.
    2)  Inter plant profit has to be captured.
    Example: 0020sells materials @ 120$, procures from 0010@ 100$. Actual cost of that in 0010 is 80$.
Meaning total profit for company is 40$, 20$ each to plant 0010 & plant 0020
Would someone please be so kind as to helpme with a Best  process flow for this scenario
I am open to your suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Nagesh

    Hi Nagesh,
Generally it sounds wrong; I think that businesswise it is not good practice (and in some countries even forbidden) to record a profit in a company just by moving stock around. This way we could all make millions!
Stock price can vary from one plant to another, but then it is recorded as price difference when it moves, not profit.

  • Error in single step plant transfer

    Hi guys,
I have a doubt regarding "single step plant transfer"
when i give material, plant and location in MB1B with
movement type "301". after entering it and giving all the
information like Material, quantity, and recieving Plant
and if i enter i get this error
"Material 1232 not maintained in plant JOP2"
    matrl no : 1232
source plant JOP1 recieving plant JOP2
kindly help me to overcome this error
    regards
    Jino

    hi
Material 1232 not maintained in plant JOP2
This means you have to extend this material to plant JOP2
Go to MM01 and enter the material number 1232 at both Material no & Ref no
    then press enter
in the next screen select all views & enter in the next screen enter the plant from & plant to. as JOP2
just keep on pressing enter & Save.
This will mainatin material in required plant

  • Automatic update of vendor code during plant to plant Transfer

    Hi all,
How to configure automatic update of vendor code during plant to plant Transfer.
    Regards
    KK

    hi,
In transfer posting there is no buying/selling of the goods...there is only transfers may be from plant ot plant...or storage loc to st location...etc...
When you do plant to plant stock transfer, there is no role of the vendor...but the receiving and the destination plant/storage loc plays a big role...
    Hope its clear...

  • Plant transfer with margin with different profit centers

    Dear Experts,
We have a scenario wherein we manufacture the product at plant 100 and sell through plant 200.
As per new requirement, above plant transfer should be done with the margin.
    Example:
Plant 100, product Std price: 1000
At the time of transfer to plant 200, product price should be 1500.
Rs. 500 will be the fixed margin for the year. next year it may change.
Plant 100, Prodcut price: 1000, profit center 101
Plant 200, product price 1500, profit center 201
Please guide me hoe to set up above case
    Thanks

    Hello Simi,
You can define a new condition type for the price at the second plant 200 (say ZP01 in the below screenshot) and maintain this condition type once in a year using MEK1. The condition class of this should be B - prices
Also, both plant 100 and 200 will need to have price control Standard at 1000 and 1500 respectively.
Now define a condition type(say Z000 in the screenshot below) and call it STO notional profit/margin ( I call this notional as you are gaining a profit from 'selling' to your own plant). This condition type should have condition class A -Discount/Surcharge
In the pricing procedure, assign subtotal E against condition type P101 (this standard condition type automatically picks Standard price in plant 100). Against ZP01, assign subtotal D.
Now against Z000 assign calculation type 12 (calculates ZP01 - P101). Against Z000, maintain an accrual key ZW1 (say) and assign this to an 'STO profit' G/L in OBYC.
Your postings in PGI should look as below in the 2nd screenshot. The profit centers in my case is the same, however, you can maintain different profit centers in Plant data 1 for the material in the 2 plants.

  • Plant to plant transfer in Q status

    Hello,
Can someone please provide the steps to configure movement type to allow plant to plant transfer of stock with Q status? Can this be accomplished with custom movement type configuration or a user exit is available? Please advise.
    Thanks,
    avi

    Hi Avi,
    have you tried Transaction QAC2?
I think you should be able to move Plant stor. loc. to Plant stor. loc.
Edit: You will have to make sure that QM has been set up for the receiving plant as well.

  • Issue with Plant to Plant Transfer Mvt type 301

    Hi,
I'm trying to do a Plant to Plant Transfer using MB1B/MIGO,mvt type 301, from a plant / Storage location which is NON HU managed to a plant / Storage location which is HU Managed, I'm getting this error,
    Message No : VL296.
HU cannot be delivrd from plant XXX stor. loc. XXX to plant YYYY stor. loc  YYYY
Has anyone come across this error ? Any solutions?
    Many thanks
    Feroz

    Hi Feroz
In HU-managed storage locations, materials can be managed in HUs only. Mixed stock made up of packed and non-packed materials within the same storage location are not supported. HUs can also be managed in interim storage types.
if you want to use 311 to move the material already in stock, but in a non HUM Storage Location and you want to transfer those materials into a HUM Storage Location 304.  If this is the case you can use the transaction VLMOVE with the destination plant and storage location. Before that you have to create the HU with the transaction code HU02 Storage location: where the material is and the status: in stock

  • Stock, plant to plant Transfer with a Profit Margin

    Dear Experts,
Before raising the question let me explain a little about the existing process and configuration in a nutshell.
We have one company with two business areas(identical with Plant, used from the point of Org unit, We are using BA to get BA wise P&L and balance for selected BS GL a/c),  also we have activated Profit center accounting but not used PCA from org. unit point of view but and alternative perspective it is used.(Product category wise)
BA1(Plant1) produce product most for the use in to BA2(Plant2) and we use STO to transfer such stock from Plant 1 to Plant 2.
as per this scenario Stock Cost is being transferred from BA1 to BA2 and we re-post the related indirect cost(admin cost) also from BA1 to BA2 to arrive at Profitability of BA1.
Now the business has identified some practical issues because cost which are related to BA1 can also be re-posted to BA2 and BA1 will show up a good bottom line while BA2 will bear unrelated cost. Also the inefficiency in production at plant 1 is also not that easy to analyze due to the current method.
Business wanted to avoid this but since both plant are in same company code we are unable to follow the stock transfer from plant to plant with Delivery and Billing,
Finally, Business has requested below that they want to do the transfers with a marginal profit to plant 2(BA2) and Material Cost(COGS) will remain in plant 1 and when BA 2 use it such stock will be posted in consumption.
is this process logical according to the SAP process and can we get the result by activating transfer posting. Is there any alternative method that we can fulfill the requirement.
    Pls. advice.
    Thanks in advance .
    Aziz

    Hi Parth,
Thanks for you idea.. I refer below MM plant to plant transfer methods, Stock transfer from plant to plant can be done in different ways as i have learnt.they are mentioned below.
Stock Transfer Between Plants in One Step
Stock Transfer Between Plants in Two Steps
    Stock Transport Order Without Delivery
Stock Transport Order with Delivery via Shipping
Stock Transport Order with Delivery and Billing Document/Invoice
The Stock Transport Order with Delivery and Billing Document/Invoice -  cannot be done between same plants in a single Company code it referes to Cross company transfers only
follow below thread to learn about it further
Stock Transfer Using a Stock Transport Order - Managing Special Stocks (MM-IM) - SAP Library
but i'm not clear how you are doing your SO-PO transaction in same company code between plants.
Can you share me more information on this if you have.
    Rgds,
    Aziz

  • Cannot create copy of Std inspection type 08 (Stock transfer inspection)

    Dear All:
I have created a copy of std inspection type 08 as Z08CP. I have made all the relevant assigments in IMG such as Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types, Default values, etc.
During my unit testing I did use the newly created Z08CP but I have noticed I keep getting the error message " Change the inspection stock of material XXXXX in QM only" BUT THE MOMENT I SWITCHED THE MATERIALS MASTER BACK TO inspection type 08 the problem is gone. Only when I have the std inspection type in the material master I am allow it to post a MB1b (322) and created the inpscetion lot in the background
    Weird !!
    Any ideas.
    Regards,
    Mauricio

Let me see if i understand exactly what you guys are saying.
Following entries have been made in IMG
    1. Plant dependent QM settings. Inspection Type for Available Stock in Quality Inspection field is empty
    2. Maintain Inspection types: Created Z08CP as copy of 08
    3. Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types. For lot origin 08. created the following relationship
    Lot Origin 08
    01     08     Stock transfer inspection
02     Z08CP     Prod Defect: Stock transfer inspection
    4. Default values for inspection type. Copied default values from 08 to Z08CP
Note i did not make any changes to IMG section "Inspection for Goods Movements"
I tried again and same error was displayed. what is that I am missing here?
