Interaction between two prompts

Hi All,
I have created dashboard prompt(param1) with choice list in OBIEE 11g .
Account value
Batch value
date value
and beside calendar prompt also we used.
now my requirement is calendar prompt should only be enabled when i choose date value alone in param1.otherwise, it should be disabled for the rest of two values.
can anybody help me in achieving this requirement!

I am looking for the best way (or any way) to interact between two different frames in the same indesign template as well as from one template to another. It's for a DPS app which needs to carry some button initiated data from one page to another and then present it in a table.

There is no simple way to do it, as itunes wont let you use it on another computer without wiping the contents first.
However if you really want to transfer songs to another computer then you could try this;
* make sure that your ipod is accessible as a disk drive (ipod options)
* when you plug your ipod into the computer you want to transfer to make sure you select "no" or "cancel" when it asks to wipe the contents. Leave the ipod connected and quit from itunes.
* go to "my computer" and access the ipod directly. You probably have to select "view hidden files" from windows. You will see a lot of folders with odd names like ZX838aff with similar named files inside.
* copy these files to a folder on your computers hardrive. Now remove the ipod and start itunes.
* import the files from the folder you made in the last step.
* Now your music is on itunes, but with unrecogisable names.
This is the only way I have found to do it, but there may be another way, say with an application to do the hard work for you.

How to restrict the filters' interaction between two (or more) dashboard pages?

I work in OBIEE 10.1.3. and I don't have a lot of experiense with this product.
I have a problem with report filters’ interaction between dashboard pages. I have created two pages in one dashboard and I navigate from page 1 to page 2. Reports from page 2 have more restrictive data filters (for example, Fiscal Month = Current Month & Fiscal Year = Current Year) than reports from page 1 (Fiscal Month <= Current Month & Fiscal Year = Current Year). If I start from the page 1 and then navigate to the page 2 by clicking on the column that is used for navigation all reports on both pages work fine. However, when I return to page 1 (by clicking on the page name) the data in the reports there is skewed, displaying only the data for Fiscal Month = Current Month. I checked the reports filters and they all get reset from (Fiscal Month <= Current Month) to (Fiscal Month = Current Month). I tried to resolve this by canging filters back to what they were, saving the report, and starting over, but it does not help.
If anyone knows the solution for my problem, please respond to my post.

You can use this workaround:
Page1: Fiscal Month : CASE WHEN 1=1 THEN 'Fiscal Month' END
Make this field as 'is prompted' for all the reports in page1.
For Page2:
Fiscal Month : CASE WHEN 2=2 THEN 'Fiscal Month' END
Make this field as 'is prompted' for all the reports in page2.
This way OBIEE will treat them as two separate fields and the filters will not be messed up.

We can achive this by 2 ways.
One way you can check the standard example "HTMLB_samples".
In the example HTMLB_samples i can explain what is happeing taking the example of page
a) breadcrumb.htm and
b) breadcrumbSample.htm.
Here when we click the link in the left(Samplelist.htm) page, the page Defaultright.htm will be rendered.
The defaultright.htm is calling breadcrumb.htm and load.htm.
The breadcrumb.htm in turn is calling the page breadcrumpSample.htm(Before it is calling the load.htm page is shown in mean time). For this to happen below code is kept in breadcrumb.htm page.

This is how the loading icon is comming.
Other Way of doing is.
From the first page navigate it to a intermediate page which has the loading icon. From this intermediate page you can navigate it to the Second page which you want it.

Choice between two Prompts/Parameters

Hi,
I have a requirement where in i need the user to enter value in either one of the 2 prompts.
For example, if there are 2 prompts, one asking the user to input a value and the other asking the user to select from a List of Values.
Now if the user chooses to input a value, the other prompt should get freezed and uneditable.
The same should happen if the user chooses to select from a list of values, the other prompt should get disabled.

I would definitely go with the WD10EZEX out of the only two choices you allow in your post. Per NewEgg this drive has 64MB cache and other has 32. Also, reviewers completed panned the drive you have now. Only 3 stars out of 5, seemingly due to failures. For that reason alone, you may want to consider two new drives and using the drive you have now for backups. SATA drives in a hot-swap bay do an awesome and fast job of drive imaging and other forms of data backup from your PC.
Now, if you would consider other drives other than the two you suggest, WD Blacks and top 7200rpm contenders from other manufacturers are excellent drives and would certainly be my pick for video editing, particulary with so few drives in your plans. WD Blacks used to come with a toggle for quiet and performance. It seems they have removed that "feature", however another manufacturer may have something similar. I believe quiet mode slowed down how fast the actuator arm could move, which also slows down seek speed.
Finally, I would not suggest comparing HD Tune results from tests done in separate setups unless you know exactly what settings were used. I use 2MB block size and partial test with slider set to accurate for video editing comparison purposes. These are not the default settings BTW, and unfortunately the screen grabs like you have above do not show what benchmark options have been selected for the test.

Interaction between two iViews on one page

Hi Everybody!
I have have one question and if you think I am blind, then I apologize for this.
I have two iViews on a page. The First (iView 1) is showing a Link List from KM
and the second (iView 2) is showing the content of an external link.
I would like to implement the following logic:
When the user clicks on a Link in iView 1, the content should appear in iView 2.
Can this be done with standard iView parameters or do I need to implement it on my own?

KM navigation has a core par file in USR(installation) directory com.sap.km.navigation use it in IDE eclipse or nwds and alter the code using epcf and rename it as your class and redeploy it and make it as a template.
you can use this way otherwise please do see the proerties of KM navigation iview which may suggest the way out.hope this helps you .while using the code you have to implement epcm.donavigate and paa parameters to other iview.please don,t forget to give points

Try this if u are using DD by Key:
1. Get the selected value from DD 'B'.
2. Set the selected value of DD 'A' to the same value.
This will work if u are using DD by key and if the Key values are same.
Eg: - If you have seleccted value X in DD 'B' which has key 'X1', then If DD 'A' also contains the same 'X' u can set it directly.

In index.jsp i have a button to navigate to

Issue:
Here is the issue.I have set one session attribute set in step1 and i need to acces it in step2.Im getting the attribute as null in step2.
Can any one please let me know wht and where the issue is and the solution for it.

The fundamental problem is that web apps basically have no knowledge of each other. So if you're deploying to seperate WAR files, they're pretty much independent of each other and, specifically, can not share session data at all.
If you want to share data between webapps, you need to use something outside the container (like a database), or you can play games with class loaders, and static class elements, making sure that your common classes are loaded outside of the webapps themselves.
For example, in Tomcat, the shared and common directories hold classes that are loaded by the container directly and presented to your webapps.
If you have a class with static members loaded from the common or shared directory, then both webapps will see the same instances of that class, and can share information that way. However, these classes will not be reloaded if you reload the webapps, only if you restart the container.
The other problem, of course, is that these classes are agnostic of the session, so you'll need to implement your own session management if the data is unique to the users of your application. Kind of a catch-22.

Site to Site VPN Between Two ASA 5505's Up But Not Passing Traffic

i am setting up a site to site vpn between two asa 5505's. the tunnel is up but i cannot get it to pass traffic and i have run out of ideas at this point. i am on site as i am posting this question and only have about 4 hours left to figure this out, so any help asap is greatly appreciated. i'll post the configs below along with the output of sh crypto isakmp sa and sh ipsec sa.

Your tunnel is up and encrypting traffic one way, the other end is not able to encrypt the traffic.
I would suggest to do a 'clear xlate'? Sometimes if you setup the nonat configuration after you've attempted other configurations, you need to 'clear xlate' before the previous NAT configuration is cleared and the new one works.

Unable to find line break between two lines in attachment file.

Dear all I will be very great full if someone help me out,
I am trying to send mail through SMTP server with an attachment of oracle report, but I am unable to find line break between two lines, when I down load the attachment from mail and open attach.txt file by double click on it. Next line starts right after previous line ends, it should starts with new line.
In order to send an attachment file, I am reading source file line by line and put MIME protocol’s attachment instance, contain of source file is being properly written into target file if I open that attachment on cmd prompt.

How do I share files between two Macs on my wireless network?

I have an iMac G4 and an ibook G3 on a wireless network. I have "file sharing" activated on both computers. (Also Appletalk, which may or may not be a misguided move, but I got the idea from OSX "Help.")
When I try to get from either computer onto the other, my computer is recognized by name (another alternative is to log on as a "guest"). I'm prompted for a password. None of the passwords I use works. I've tried the administrative passwords for both computers.
How do I get beyond this hurdle to share files? I've posted elsewhere to no avail. This must be an easy one. How do you share files between two macs on one network?

Do your accounts on the machines have the same short name? It's an issue I've seen a few names.. one machine with bsmith, the other with bobsmith, but the long names for both being "Bob Smith". The login windows would confuse users because it showed their names, but because the short names didn't match, it wouldn't work.
The password you should use is the administrative one, so I don't know why you're not having luck.

Communication between Two WebLogic instances on the same machine

Hi,
We're having a problem with communication between two copies of Weblogic on
the same machine. They are configured with seperate ports (regular and SSL).
Independantly, they run fine. I can access EJBs running on either of them.
The problem is that a bean in one of them has code which attempts to access
an EJB on the other one. The procude fails when trying to obtain the initial
context. This same code works if compilied independantly of WebLogic on the
same machine.
Are there any known issues regards communication between two running
instances of Weblogic on the same machine?

Thanks for the prompt reply.
There is one IP address (internal address 10.227.1.34) one the machine. WLS1
is set up at ports 7001 and 5133. WLS2 is setup at ports 7004 and 7005.
When WLS1 attempts to obtain a context to WLS2 with the URL
t3://10.227.1.34:7004/ it pauses for a long period of time. Running truss
on the both WLS processes shows communication occuring between the two
followed by long periods of silence. Finally WLS2 spits out the error
ConnectionException[7001,7001,5133,5133,7001,7001] (paraphrased, I can get
the entire error if it would help).
After another long pause, WLS1 quits trying with the error 'Server
10.227.1.34:7004 not found' (again paraphrased).
Among the things we've tried:
* Changing the URL from the IP to 127.0.0.1
* Enabling/disabling SSL on either or both WLSs.
* Changing the server name in WLS2's copy of weblogic.properties from
'myserver' to 'myserver2' (previously they were both 'myserver')
* Upgrading WLS2 to 5.1.0sp5 (Tried upgrading WLS1, but was getting class
not found errors and quit because that WLS is being used by other people)
This is a Solaris server. WLS1 is running 5.1.0 and WLS2 is running 5.1.0sp5
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

the same machine. They are configured with seperate ports (regular andSSL).
Independantly, they run fine. I can access EJBs running on either of
them.
The problem is that a bean in one of them has code which attempts toaccess
an EJB on the other one. The procude fails when trying to obtain theinitial
context. This same code works if compilied independantly of WebLogic onthe
same machine.
Are there any known issues regards communication between two running
instances of Weblogic on the same machine?

OBIEE 11G - Issue passing parameters between two reports

Hi folks,
I am struggling to pass parameters between two reports in OBIEE 11G.
My first report contains the following columns: Rolling Year Type (VCHAR), Year(VCHAR), Month(VCHAR), Cost(Double).
My second report contains the following columns: Rolling Year Type(VCHAR), Year(VCHAR), Month(VCHAR), Category(VCHAR), Cost(Double).
My requirement is to pass the Rolling Year Type, Year and Month values from report 1 to report 2.
On the Month column properties of report 1, I have created an Action Link called 'Drill to Category'. I have clicked on 'Navigate to BI Content' and selected Report 2.
Then on Report 2, I have included three filters: Rolling Year Type is prompted, Year is prompted, Month is promted.
When I run the report I always get the following error:
The specified criteria didn't result in any data. This is often caused by applying filters and/or selections that are too restrictive or that contain incorrect values. Please check your Analysis Filters and try again. The filters currently being applied are shown below.
When I check the cursor cache, the filter values are correct. Does anybody have any idea why Report 2 does not display?
When I remove the Month filter, the report works correctly.
I have since changed the third filter to be Month No and although Report 2 does display, it does not pick up the filter on the Month No.
I initially thought this may have been a caching issue and so I have disabled BI Server Cache but this does not fix my problem.
This was never an issue on OBIEE 10G as I found it very easy to navigate between two requests.
Has anyone else experienced problems with passing parameters between two request in 11G?

Hi,
I once tried this kind of requirement(with dashboard prompts though) and hit at similar issue. I later found out that the problem is with the space in the parameter values. Can you please let me know, if the same is the case with you?
Suppose the parameter passed is "Jan 2010", but the report on the destination takes the value as "Jan" & "2010". Yes, it kind of split the parameter value to two based on space. I think we can notice the filters the destination report got, by enabling filter view.
In this case, since you pass only value at a time, could you try placing the parameter value anyway in double quotes? I think the Server then will understand it as one value.

Cannot get Telnet to work between two servers on same subnet

I need to test if communication is open on port 8444 between two servers.
I installed telnet client on a Server 2008 R2 server and telnet server on a Server 2008 SP2 server. I also manually started the Telnet service that was set to disabled on the SP2 server. I disabled the Windows firewall on both servers. They
are both on the same subnet so they don't need to go through any routers and I can ping successfully.
When I try to telnet to the remote server by typing telnet "ip address" 8444, I get an error that says "Could not open connection to host, on port 8444: Connection failed.
I tried other ports like port 80 and got the same error.
What else is needed to get this to work?

VMs have nothing to do with it, as long as there's network communication between the servers.
As I said, there must be a service or application listening on that port for it to respond. For example, try this:
C:\> telnet
When the telnet prompt opens, type in:
open mail.messaging.microsoft.com 25
If it works, you should see this:
220 CH1EHSMHS035.bigfish.com Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Thu, 7 Feb 2013 00:57:33 +0000
That means that Microsoft's mail servers are LISTENING on port 25 and it responded. And note, telnetting to port 25 is a non-default telnet port, because port 23 is the default telnet port. When you type in a space and then a port number, you're telling
the telnet client to use that port.
That is the SAME THING if some sort of application or service is listening on port 8444 on that other server you're trying to telnet to. If there is no app or service listening, it will just time out.
And no, installing the TELNET service on that sercver will NOT answer to any port other than 23. The telnet service by default, uses TCP 23, unless you specify otherwise.
So once again, what service or app on that server is supposed to be listening on 8444?
