Interactive Edge and SAP insight paper on Category Management

Dear Business Process Experts,
This is the thread to discuss our joint Interactive Edge and SAP insight paper on Category Management in the Consumer Products industry.
In our paper and accompanying demo we examine the current challenges and recommend an approach to empower them to work more efficiently. Please have a look to the BPX site:

Dear Thomas,
I have gone through your article…it is very interesting and eye opener for Retail industry.
For retailers, category management (CM) is the process of maximizing category profits through coordinated item assortment, promotion and pricing. It has been gaining popularity because retailers have come to realize that a better understanding of the interdependencies in consumer and manufacturer behavior among various brands in a category can increase the profitability of the category as a whole.1 CM is a significant departure from the traditional approach that considers brands independently, and has been adopted by an increasing
number of companies in the retail industry.
Therefore adopting a CM perspective could increase total profit. Yet, despite
the optimistic view, there is little consensus on how to implement CM in order to achieve its greatest profit potential. This is at least in part caused by a lack of analytical tools to support CM decisions, and calls for econometric methods that enable retail managers to implement CM.
<b>To cater and support this requirement, SAP IS Retail component should support following functionality;</b>
When we create a Article group using MC / Brand and use the article group in the pre-requisite of the Bonus buys, the bonus buys creates conditions at article level for all the articles in the article group. It also sends all articles in the Bonus buy Idoc WPDBBY. This functionality causes lot of performance issues while creating Bonus buys at SAP end, as well as at the POS end, since POS needs to go an check item by item. (Segment E1WPBB02). Therefore, SAP should come out new functionality for sending just the Merchandising category (MC) name or the brand name in the Bonus buy Idoc ( WPDBBY01) in the pre-requisite section instead of all the items within the MC or the brand.

  • SAP Interactive Forms and SAP Smart Forms for Human Capital Management

    Hi gurus,
pls help me understand what are SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe and SAP Smart Forms for Human Capital Management (HCM)?

    read here
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/SAPInteractiveFormsbyAdobe#SAPInteractiveFormsbyAdobe-WhatarethedifferencesbetweenSmartFormsandAdobeForms%3F
What are the differences between Smart Forms and Adobe Forms?
For both of them, SAP dynamically creates a function module that must be called from an ABAP program to generate the form
In Smart Forms, it is possible to add ABAP code during generation of the form, that is not possible with Adobe Forms
It is possible to add javascript or FormCalc code in Adobe Forms, which is executed during the generation of the form

  • Interconnection between CRM interactive reporting and SAP BI

    Hi everyone,
My requirement is like we are replacing some ticketing tool interms of SAP CRM and also we need to generate the Reports like how many tickets has been closed, how many tickets are in queue under a manager like that.
Basically I am BI consultant,I am new to CRM.It will great if any one can give information about interconnection between CRM interactive reportin block and BI.
How BI reports can be executed in CRM WebUI?
    Regards,
    Praveena.

    HI
what I think of same solution is developed in our company too in that what we have done is take R/3 CRM as the input server for the BI reporting , create infoarea and Infocube and then you can do the reporting on the data fetched from crm system then using Bex reporting tools you can do analysis on the same

  • Adobe Interactive Forms and SAP PI

Has anyone used SAP PI to process offline Adobe Interactive forms?
Any java api available that will do the trick?
We can use ABAP mapping but want to avoid such a design. Java is the preferred method.
PS: I am surprised why there is no standard integration available for the offline forms with SAP PI.

SAP PI is intended to be used for system integration on messaging base.
It is not intended to process forms.

20,000 is on quite higher side for IDOC.
IBIP help doc says it needs 2 Kbyte for each record, i.e. 40 Mb for 20,000 rec. that should be ok. Since it has structures for Partner & classification data , I don't think u need to modify the BAPI.

  • The difference SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite and SAP BusinessObjects EDGE BI Suite

    Hi all,
Would you please explain what is the difference of SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite and SAP BusinessObjects EDGE BI Suite..?

    Key difference:
Edge BI Suite does not allow you to do clustering of nodes, but the BI Suite does.  This flexibility is restricted in Edge - so it's a single server setup.
Both SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI and SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise share the same underlying platform and tools.  The difference is that Edge BI is designed and priced for mid-sized organizations, and is therefore licensed differently.
SAP BusinessObjects Edge BI is licensed for both named-user licenses and concurrent access licenses (CAL). While named-user licenses are appropriate for users who are active in the system throughout most of the day, the concurrent access license provides an economical way to support casual system users. A single CAL license will typically support 5-10 users, depending on the type of usage they require.
While Enterprise (BI Suite) can be implemented for unlimited users across multiple servers and includes clustering and failover capabilities, Edge BI is restricted to a single server and a user count more appropriate for mid-sized organizations.
You can always upgrade to SAP BI Suite if requirement grows and easily migrate all of your BI content including users, groups, reports, dashboards and universes.
The decision now depends on your investment and the allocated budget. I hope this helps.

  • Interaction Record and Multi Level Categorization

    Hello Forum,
I would like to know if any one has implemented Multi level categorization for Interaction record in SAP CRM Web IC 7.0.
If so how did you acheive this.
    I have done the following
    -     Create Catalogs, Codes and Code groups
    -     Create Subject profile
    -     Create Categorization schema with default subject profile.
I could not assign Subject Profile to Transaction Type and also in the only default Subject Profile  is displayed .
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Amar

    Glen,
I tried to create customized catalog with Category "F" which is Activity -Reason and the system did not allow me.
So i used A1 (SAP delivered)  which has category "F" and used it  to assign Code Group Profile and Code Groups.
I created Subject Profile with Subject Category "F" and assigned the Code Group Profile.
I have not usedc the Transaction for assigning subject profile and Status to Transaction Type as i do not need it.
There is not provision to directly assign subj profile to Transaction type as like service request.
I went through the route of assigning Subj profile to Transaction Type header and another place of assigning them in the category schema.
This is where i do not see the Customized subject profile which i have created.
Can you tell me where exactly i can Determine of categorization schema based on transaction type/catalog category combination.
    Thanks
    Amar

  • What is difference between SAP R3 And SAP IS Mills Product

    HI Friends
What is difference between SAP R3 And SAP IS Mills Product
What are the futures are availables in IS MIlls
    Regards

    Hi,
SAP R/3 is the central enterprise version. It is not specifically designed for any inducstry sectors and it can cater many of the industry types.
Is is developed for specific industries an for SMB's (small and medium business). It will have components specifically for the industry.
The SAP Mill Products component adds sector-specific functionality to an ERP system to satisfy the complex requirements of mill industries (e.g. metal, wood, paper, textiles, construction materials, and cable sectors).
These industry segments differ from others primarily in that the materials used have a large number of characteristics and variants. The materials in the segments listed above are also predominantly area-based (e.g. paper, textiles, plastic film) or length-based (e.g. cables, piping). Account must be taken of these material characteristics throughout the entire supply chain.
To cater for the particularities of these industry segments, SAP Mill Products features processes and functions that cover the entire supply-chain cycle – from product design and configuration, through planning, order processing, capacity planning and production, to final delivery. Additional functions are available in costing and inventory management. SAP Mill Products are also integrated into Quality Management, Financial Accounting, and Controlling.

  • Using the Open Catalog Interface (OCI) between SAP-ECC 6.0 and SAP-MDM

    Hello ASUG Community.
I'm working on an SAP-MDM project where we will configure the OCI interface between SAP-ECC 6.0 and SAP-MDM.  The business requirement will be to punch out to SAP-MDM's catalog from SAP-ECC for expensed items (e.g., no material master record exists in SAP-ECC).
The data that will be returned to SAP-ECC will be purchase price info, material group, short text, & our global SAP-MDM item number.
The question I've been trying to design around is "where to store the SAP-MDM item number"?
I've looked into creating a custom filed on EKPO but now feel that a configured text field will be the best solution from an SAP-ECC point of view (less effort on the SAP-ECC side from a development perspective, no need to regenerate the EKPO table, etc.).
The question I'd like to pose to ASUG is.... Does anyone have experience or an opinion to offer using this functionality?  It seems that I will have to code in a user exit or BAdi to insure that the SAP-MDM item numbers are returned to the appropriate text field on my POu2019s.  Or can this be done using the standard OCI functionality?
I found OSS note 1347656 which references BADI "ME_CATALOG_INTERFACE" but I'm not sure if this right path to go down or if this would be the correct place to code non-conforming OCI mapping requiremetns.
Any insight would be most appreciated.
    Thanks.  Sincerely,
    Rich Wortmann

I would suggest you create a new field for this as you may require thois going forward for reporting as well. Text fields are difficult to report.
Sorry not sure about the BADI to use.

  • How can user attach file to interactive form, and be read by abap program?

    Hello,
I created an abap interactive form, sent to the user, then user fills out the form fields, then it is uploaded back to sap, then my program reads this data and process it.
    It works.
Now I want users to be able to attach any file they want, and the abap program to extract this file out of the PDF, to put it into SAP (or anywhere).
I succeeded in attaching a file, I can "see" it via function module get_annotations, but I get the file in compressed form by Adobe (filter="FlateDecode").
Do you know how to unzip the file, or is there another way to attach files in adobe reader/extract them via abap?
    I use acrobat reader 8.1.2
    Thx a lot!
    sandra
Below is the xml obtained by GET_ANNOTATIONS. We see that there are other text annotations, and that the attached file has {length="98005"}, though real file (before "attach file" to the PDF, and also after "detach file") has length 111 995 bytes. It's why I deduced that there is a compression (I also tried to extract it as-is and open it with adobe but it doesn't work.

    Hello everybody,
I am sure you have an answer to my question above. It was :
how is it possible for a user to ATTACH files to a PDF interactive form, and then be able to READ them via a program ? (I guess the solution to read them via ABAP or JAVA is quite the same?)
    Thx a lot !

  • ERMS: Creation of Interaction Record and Service Ticket

    Hi All,
I am configuring the ERMS system (SAP CRM 2007). So far I am been able to get internal emails into the CRM system and the emails are getting routed to the respective agent's inbox based on the rule in Rule Modeler.
I have created rule for creating Interaction Record and Service ticket. However, Interaction Record and Service ticket are not getting generated. Also, I am not able to receive external emails (yahoo, gmail etc..) into SAPconnect.
Any input on these issues is appreciated.
    Thanks & regards.

    Hi Namita,
Same as the other thread, please make sure that the BP is identified for the incoming email and then only the creation of the IR/SO ERMS Actions will get executed with success.
I am not sure, whether you still face this issue ?
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Vinod
