Interactive form on mobile devices and other PDF viewers

Hello! I made an interactive PDF, which i first made in InDesign. It's basically built up like this: There are fields with a picture and text which go to transparency 0% when i go over them with the mouse and then you can see the background. I dind't have problems in Acrobat Pro and the Reader on PC and MAC, but when i open the PDF on a mobile device, even Adobe Reader, i can't use these effects. When i tap just short on the screen it marks the field for like a second and when i leave my finger longer on the touchscreen it shows me some options like making a signature and so on.. Is there any way to get this interactive effect going on mobile devices? And could it be that the interactive form only works with Adobe software? because I tried it with a preinstalled version of a Windows 8 PDF Viewer and the only thing that worked were the links i set to some websites.

The Adobe Reader was installed in handheld. It can open standalone (offline) pdf document. But it would appear error when display dynamic generated adobe form in browser.

Clearscan Errors in Preview and other pdf viewers

I scan a lot of documents and have started using the ClearScan OCR option. This produces very good quality scans and very small file sizes, but I've been running into problems when I try to read my pdfs in Preview or other pdf readers. If I open a ClearScanned pdf in Preview and try to copy and paste some of the text, it pastes just fine. If I save the pdf in Preview, however, and then try to copy and paste text, the result is something like this: "␣␣␣␣␣ ␣␣␣". The PDF still looks fine, it doesn't change its visual appearance, but the OCR is no longer correct. This is a big problem because I use several other pdf readers to read and annotate my PDFs, and any time I save a ClearScanned PDF I lose the functionality of scanned text (since I can no longer copy and paste or even search the PDF since all the letters have been replaced with "␣"). Has anyone else had any problems with ClearScan? Is ClearScan only compatible with Adobe, or is there any way to save a ClearScanned PDF so that it will work correctly with other PDF viewers? I have not tried it, but I've seen posted in another thread that one of the Preflight options in AA9 allows you to embedd the fonts created by the ClearScan process. This might fix your problem. You just have to figure out how to use Preflight!
I just tried this - it's the "Embed fonts" option under the PDF fixups category. I can't tell if it will do what you need though, as I don't use Preview or any other PDF viewer. It did seem to embed fonts that were previously not embedded, though (a) they still didn't show up in the PDF Optimizer dialog, only in the document properties dialog, and (b) it seems like the ClearScan were embedded in the first place, even before I ran this Preflight.

Adobe Interactive Forms on Mobile Devices

Dear colleaguesu2019,
We are planning to adopt Adobe Interactive Forms (AIF) to our business scenarios but there is prerequisite that AIF must be able to run on mobile devices such as Blackberry/Iphone.
As far as I know current technology of Blackberry/Iphone has limited support to pdf files. I tried to run an AIF on Blackberry but the form did not respond.
Is there any way to run AIF on Blackberry/Iphone or any other third party tool that is available to do that?

we would like to use the iPad to fill out an interactive form. But obviously there is no app you could use for that. Once I searched the net for this issue I found a thread where a developer stated to create a corresponding app for this need. The mentioned sap note is as of 2006. In the meantime there should be some progress in this matter since customers keep on asking for a solution.
Could anyone from SAP make a suggestion here?

You can transfer MIDlets to J2ME compatible devices only ,atleast for now. To do this , you must use a serial cable and download it directly to your cell phone or pager.
The CLDC has been designed to suit applications that run low on memory ( from 160 kb to 512 kb)

I already created an "online fillable form" with Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for PCs and MACs but this form can not be filled using mobile devices, it can only be downloaded.

Adobe Interactive Form on BlackBerry device

Hi,
I am trying to open an adobe interactive form (generated by SAP and Adobe LifeCycle Designer) on my BlackBerry device.
Instead of the document's content I get the following message:
When opening a PDF document containing an XFA form on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone the following error is displayed:
This document is an XFA form. XFA forms cannot be filled using the Mobile Adobe Reader.
Is there any possibility to open and maintain the document anyway or what is adobe's strategy regarding this scenario?

They haven't really announced it, because there is no product to announce. Rather the opposite.
There are no conversion tools, so far as I know.
XFA forms are a non-starter if you want portability.
AcroForms are a nightmare in themselves, because the functionality is limited in Adobe Reader and varies between absent and weird in other products. No idea about Blackberry support.
You will not find a simple recommendation. Rather, you need to use Acroforms and carefully test everything (EVERYTHING: no assumptions) on every platform you intend to support.
Yes, rather unsatisfactory, but until Adobe realise that the future is platform equivalence or irrelevance, this is where we are.

There are two basic varieties of LiveCycle XFA...Static XFA and Dynamic XFA, which are very different in terms of their future for potential support in Adobe Reader for iOS. Which variety of XFA are you using?
Static XFA uses the PDF markup language for content and form fields, so users can view the documents in Adobe Reader for iOS, but we currently do not properly handle filling, saving, and submitting those forms. I have improving our handling of Static XFA on my roadmap, but cannot offer any specific date yet (sorry, policy plus actual uncertainty). I know that there are some other apps that partially support Static XFA, though I do not know how complete their support is. If you can even open the XFA document in Adobe Reader for iOS, it is likely Static XFA.
Dynamic XFA is effectively a JavaScript application packaged inside a PDF wrapper, which generates layout and form fields via code and requires a significant engine to support this. Support for Dynamic XFA is unfortunately not currently on our roadmap for iOS due to the nature of the technology, and our concern that any implementation we try likely will not pass Apple's restriction against installing something that allows other "apps" to be downloaded and executed from within it. The LiveCycle team is exploring solutions for our enterprise customers wanting to use Dynamic XFA from mobile devices as part of their server offering, but I cannot offer any insight here. To my knowledge, there are no applications that handle Dynamic XFA other than Adobe Reader for the desktop platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Interactive Maps on mobile devices

We have a client who has needs a plotted map which has to be interactive (data points with drill down).
The client needs this functionality on desktop as well as mobile devices (iphone, ipad, android, blackberry)
I have done a poc for the desktop with dvt:geographic map and saw that it caters for the interactivity, but this isn't available on ADF mobile (which is our preferred approach for mobile interface)
Currently I am investigating options to bring map interactivity on the mobile devices without having to go down the route of native mobile applications.
I was thinking that calling the Mapviewer API directly might resolve our issue. Is this a feasible approach? Looking at my requirement, could you suggest a good path to solution?

Launch Adobe offline form from Mobile device

Hi,
Our use case : We are trying to launch adobe form from Mobile device.
Idea : The form template is locally stored on the mobile device. The mobile application tries to launch this adobe form and populate some of the fields and then send this data to SAP.
What is the best way to achieve this ? Is it possible to launch the adobe form and then populate the fields?
What is the best way to transmit the data, as GPRS is the mode of communication.
any thoughts would really help.

Saving an Online Interactive Form onto Client PC and UWL query

I am pretty new to Adobe Interactive Forms and i have 2 questions which i hope someone can shed some light on.
1) Is it possible to save an Online Interactive Form after entering data as a PDF softcopy onto a local client machine before submission to the SAP R/3 system? This form is embedded in a Webdynpro App that is accessed through the portal.
2) I wish to integrate the Adobe Interactive Forms together with an approval workflow that is accessed through the portal UWL. I am wondering if my form needs to be embedded in a webdynpro app that allows an approver to view the filled in form filled in by the requestor. In addition, if the approver rejects the form, is it possible for the requestor to make the changes on the rejected form directly through the UWL or must the requestor create a new form?

Its an interesting idea. but I think it would be better if your students download Eclipse Europa IDE (or similiar IDE) and learn how to work with it. The vendor spent over 20,000,000 dollors on creating it and your application is attempting to create an on-line IDE that will not have nearly as much functionality. I don't want to discurage you, but I suggest a different project. Alternatively, If you want, you can create a tutorial on setting up the IDE and how to create a simple project in it and launch it. Then again, there are probably a lot of other on-line examples already on this this. On the other hand, your application is great practice on updating your java skills.

This seems to have started happening after the last Itunes update I did as I was able to put music on my ipod touch a month or so ago. Is there some way to go back to an older version of itunes? I really have no idea what else to do since I followed every step on the trouble shooting page for windows 8.

I had this problem too and my roommate solved it!
Go to 'Settings'
'Music'
Scroll to the bottom and enter your password to log onto your home sharing
Then connect to iTunes and sync!

Delete them and then download them from the desired Apple ID. This may require repurchasing paid applications.

Did you enter the ApplieID in the home sharing login though? Or just in for the iTunes store, or iCloud, or photo sharing, or something else?

That would be AirPlay, not homesharing. THey are not related. Did you enable air play on all the devices?
Have you run the network test tools on ATV? Can ATV access the iTunes store, Netflix, etc?
