Interactive movie controls

Hi,
Sorry if this a silly question or not appropriate for Premiere. I am creating a presentation for my company, a corporate looking one. I built one in Flash, which was fine, but a bit fidly, as the presentation was very long (about ten minutes) and with a huge amount of layers. I found the image quality to be poor on Flash, and as PowerPoint is out of the question I want to build it on Premiere. I have used Premiere before, not very experienced but I get by.
I dont really want to have a movie that just plays through itself with no interaction. Is there a way to add movie controls, as in the first section of the presentation will play, then stop until a button is clicked (like an interactive PDF) and if so can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to use them?

Quicktime Interactive Movie Mouse Control

I have a quicktime interactive movie saved from keynote with chapters added in.
The file pays full screen but at 800x600 screen resolution, the mouse left click button is not advancing the presentation. If I change the resolution to 1024x768 the mouse works again. What is the relationship between resolution and mouse control and how do I get it to work at 800x600?

As Rick indicated in his post, the answer lies in "manually"
pausing the slides by inserting click boxes or buttons. I just
wanted to add that if you have already recorded your movies and did
not use Simulation mode, you can still easily insert a click box on
each slide to pause them.
1. On the first slide, insert a click box and set the options
as you desire (turning off success/failure captions for
instance...just don't uncheck the Pause movie until user clicks
option, otherwise you will change the "nature" of the object that
Rick was referring to.)
2. Size the click box to as small as possible and place it in
an out of the way location on the slide. (We often hide it under
another object if it does not need to be clicked such as when used
in conjunction with the auto playback controls.)
3. Copy the click box
4. On the filmstrip view, highlight all slides that you want
the movie to pause
5. Right Click on any one of the highlighted slides in the
filmstrip view and select Paste Object
This will paste a copy of your click box in the same location
on all slides with the same settings as your original.

QuickTime Interactive Movie Playback Controls

When playing Quicktime interactive movies as slide shows full screen, are there any navigation options while remaining in full screen? I want to be able to jump to other parts of the presentation without existing full screen.

If your movie has chapter markers in it and you're close to the end, the fastest way is to just hit the jump to next marker button (the right button on the click wheel, the fast forward with a line button) to get to the end of the movie. The movie will then stop playing and return you to the last menu you were in. When you go back to the movie, it will restart at the beginning.
If it doesn't have chapter markers, the left click wheel button will take you back to the beginning (well, actually, it will take you back to the last menu you were in before playing the movie, but the movie will restart back at the beginning the next time you play it).
P.S. There's no such thing as a stupid question. Not everything is as obvious as Apple thinks it is. And that is exactly what this forum is for. Heck, I've been a Mac user since 1987 and it took me a couple of days to figure out how to actually turn off my 4G iPod when I first got it. (Hmmm, put it to sleep and lock the controls, with the "hold" switch. Yah, that's obvious.)

How do I move control of my ATV from one Mac to another in the same house?

I have two iMacs in the office. I have ATV2 on my flat screen TV. I want to move control of ATV from one iMac running Snow Leopard to to the other running Lion, because of more and better content. Not sure how to accomplish this. Thanks for any help you can lend.

Ok I understand that but my ATV only appears in the left control column of one iMac and not the other. Not the one I want to control it with.

Interactive table control in Adobe forms

Dear gurus,
I am trying to create an interactive table control with header. The table control will have 10 rows, and I want the users to be able to enter values into the table.
I created a new node with cardinality 0...n; and added attributes under it. The I dragged that onto my design view and made duplicate entries of the rows to get 10 rows under the header.
Now the issues I am having are
1) The table is not visible in preview Pdf; I tried to save and activate the form, but still appears to be invisible
2) For some strange reason the table control in adobe forms is not as flexible as the one in webdynpro, where it is easier to bind the fields and send / recieve data from the interface.

when your cardinality is 0..n you won't see it in preview mode.. you need to launch it from your dynpro & you will see it.
Also, if you know you're going to have 10 rows all the time, why not make the cardinality 1...n?
Nevertheless, I personallly wouldn't create the table in this method.
I would create the table in Web dynpro, add a column called "SeqNo" or whatever and pre-populate that field with 1 - 10. When you drag/drop your table from your Data View, just rt-click that column and hide it so your users won't see that field.
You'll have 10 rows displayed to the user each time and you won't worry about having to bind anything since it'll be done automagically.

Quicktime 7 in Lion for keynote interactive movs

Can I install quicktime 7 in Lion? (Quicktime X doesn't play the keynote interactive.movs)

On Lion, I am able to play Keynote files exported to QT using Manual Advance and Hyperlinks Only in QuickTime X on Lion. But here is the link to the QT 7 installer if you need it:

Movie controls stopped working

my movie controls have stopped working
such as
the trans port controls appear when I move the mouse
using the escape key to cancel out of the movie
the ONLY way I can close a full screen movie is to click it and look for an 'x' in the upper left corner.
I am on a mbp retina runing the latest os/itunes.

I am having a similar problem with my two MacBook Pros, but only with You Tube. When I play a You Tube video on my even older Mac Pro, the volume is fine. I've researched this extensively, but will admit I'm not too good at understanding all the options in the Mac Preferences. Nevertheless, I've tried multiple suggestions to no avail. Were it not for the fact that YouTube works fine on my MacPro, I'd believe it was a You Tube problem. But I don't.
All three computers are running the same Mac OS.

In QuickTime 10 is there a way to hide the movie controls when paused?

Is there anyway to hide the movie controls in quicktime when pausing movies? It's quite irritating when trying to analyse video, especially when resolution is low, and can't move the controls out of the video window to see whole picture. There should be a way to move them outside the movie window?

Click the mouse while it is over the player window. The onscreen controls and title bar will disappear.

K3 : turning movie controls off

Seems the keynote team forgot to put a chackbox in the quicktime inspector so we can turn a particular movie's control to OFF (so this movie doesn't show controls when the mouse is mooved, while still showing them for other movies on the slide)
lots of us are using motion/livetype and so on to bring more life in our presentations, but for now, we have to stick with K2, since in K3, those elements get a controller when we don't want it.
is there a way?

A workaround is to put the motion graphics on the master - when a movie is on the master, it will play immediately when the slide comes up, but will not show the movie controls. This isn't ideal, of course, since it means creating a separate master for each slide with a background motion graphic, but it does work.

I would like to create play/pause movie controls that for different flv files.
I do not want to use skins but have the controls as part of the movie/video.
Can anyone point me to a tutorial source that will help me design these?

Movie control bar in iwev

I have done a spreadsheet with numerous movie clips. They all worked fine until just recently. The movie control bar will not accept inputs. It works fine in iweb. I ultimately just went to autoplay to keep the site running. There is a small down pointing triangle when the bar appears on the web.

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?

QT movie controler doesn't work ...

After draging and placed a QT movie (h.264) and published my site, the movie controler doen't work ... I keep clicking on it and nothing happens .... The movie only starts if click twice over the movie and stops if I click once ....

QTKirk ..... You are the Man ! You will not believe but I had just found the solution when my mac emmited a sound "saying" that I had a new message and it was yours ! After 1 and 1/2 day trying to solve that damm issue, I though that it could be the problem. I turned on the layout view, increased the page height ... placed the movie a little bit above the footer line and VOILÁ !!! All movies played smoothly well .... lol .
Despite I had already found the solution, I said that "you are the man" because not even the Apple Guys at their "Chat Dept." could help me .... I'm an Editor, not a Web Designer and because of that I was already thinking that iWeb does not deal very well with videos edited in Final Cut Pro and encoded/compressed via Compressor..... Thanks for have spent your time answering me and keep giving good advices as you did, as someone who knows what is talking.

Trouble with my interactive movie and navigation

I'm putting together an interactive movie with button navigation of my portfolio using Flash but whenever I test the movie it keeps looping even though I've added a stop(); action to the first frame of my actions layer. This is also interfering with my buttons which are not working. I have modelled my movie on the photography portfolio from Lession 6 of the Flash Classroom in a Book and have checked my ActionScript for any errors but my syntax is error free.
This is the Action Script I have added to the first frame of my actions layer to make the moview interactive so that when the user clicks on a button it will take them to the appropriate frame and play the instance until the next stop(); action so that it appears that the picture fades in on the screen and then stops playing:

I have seven buttons which should upon the CLICK even take the user to the appropriate segment of the timeline but the continuous looping of the movie prohibits this. I also get several compiler errors when I test the movie for the lines below

I get the same message for all 7 buttons. I have defined my buttons as buttons in Flash and labeled them as 'btn1-btn', etc.

Interactive movies fail in Safari after Snow leopard

A lot of folk use this site - Newtonian Physics and also Ecosystems. The pages use QuickTime movies - clickable - as pull down menus and as video illustrations, simulations etc.
Since Snow Leopard the Quicktime interactive menus don't function. They "pull down" but on selection don't function and leave a black box where the interactive movie was. Not sure what Apple have done to break it! It would be good to get it functioning again - a lot of teachers depend on it. See for example.

Believe he is referring to the "pull down" menus at the top of the "Newton" page banner -- not the simulations themselves.

Change colors of interactive image controls

Hello,
I seem to be having a problem with the interactive image widget in iBooks author. In the software, and under the template I'm working with, i added some interactive image widgetsvwith always-on controls. Now the controls niceley integrate wth the template by adopting a light blue color.
However, when i preview the book on my iPad, the controls are dispayed in black which is, in my opinion, much uglier thannblue for this specific template, do you know how this csn be changed ?

I suspect this repsonse is somewhat mis-leading, the code has no effect on the control other than setting its state, although the route is somewhat tedious for the mod.
I would imagine that the control is set up so that the pixels didn't move around when they are being used as controls.
There are nested groups and locks on the controls, which might make the ordering in the cluster easier to manage.
The following should work....... ;-) it did for me
Open your own new VI
Open the main LCD VI
Open the Browse VI Hierachy
Drag and drop the LCD VI onto your own diagram
Create a cluster from the LCD VI's connector
Now ungroup the clusters and unlock them (this is tedious) if you create your own then you could be more imaginative in the structure, I leave that for homework.
Then import a new bitmap (gif) into the control
Now update the modified contol back into the master control
........ Told you it could be done, but I am not sure the pain was worth it.
BUT
Try the alternative control..... with colour settings as well, ANY colour and even some size control.
