Interactive PDF not uploading to social media sites correctly.

I created in interactive PDF from InDesign CC and tested the file in a browser, which proved sufficient. Now when I attempt to upload said PDF to FB or Twitter, it doesn't allow it. Errors say,("not image file" and "did not select image") respectively. What is the best way to resolve this?

Sure! It looks like the same thing we currently have. When you click on Sandra's image, the link takes you to a page within the main site to an interview with her. (see screenshot) I know this image is just a jpeg, though, not a PDF.
At this point, I think the best resolution is to use a .jpg and make that link to the page. Thanks for all your suggestions.

  • When PE12 uploads to social media sites does it cache the file locally and, if so, where is it?

I've uploaded a few videos to Vimeo but I also want to keep the rendered file locally; however, I can't figure out where it might be if a copy is kept locally.  I've looked in the "C:\Users\Rich\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files" directory and do not see it there.
Somewhere that file must exist, at least until the upload is complete and then perhaps it is deleted by Premiere.  I don't want to wait and download the file from Vimeo because they monkey with the video before they post it.
Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

Thank you A.T. Romano.  I guess I never got that far in the Vimeo documentation so thank you for pointing that out to me.  I did not know that they kept the original for me to download along with the same movie in a few different formats, too.  That's a nice feature that I was unaware of when I decided to buy the membership.
I just starting using Vimeo.  I got a Plus account for $60(US) per year and am quite happy so far.  The upload limits are interesting, but workable for me and they work well for my project.
    My current Premiere project:
I have 42 AVI video files, each made from a 2 hr. VHS tape or a 1 hour 8MM digital tape and all of them contain family videos.  The AVI files from the 2 hour VHS tapes are mostly about 27GB in size!  I'm editing them and cleaning them up in Premiere and then uploading to Vimeo.  When they are encoded and uploaded by Premiere they are generally just under Vimeo's 5GB per week limit for a Plus account  Because of this per week limit I am using it to pace myself - I plan to edit and upload a video per week for 42 weeks.  Already, after just one upload, my adult kids (the stars of the movies), wife and others are asking for the next one already.
I digitized these movies about 4 years ago and they have been sitting patiently, waiting and waiting and waiting for me to eventually edit and distribute them.  Finally I am getting around to doing it and now have a workflow schedule to keep me organized so that I now have a finish date for the project!
I have all of my original AVI files backed up and stored off location at my dad's house, but it's nice to know that I have another backup in the cloud, too.

  • Attempting to watch a video on a social media site, I get a response you must upload a later version of Flash.   Is there an Apple alternative, or another alternative, or should I just go ahead and download the Flash.

Attempting to watch a video on a popular social media site, I'm asked to download a Flash Media upgrade in order to view.   Is there an Apple alternative, or another alternative, or should I just go ahead and download Flash, but will it still take as long as it used to, to play?

Adobe Flash Player version 11.1.102.55 is the latest and it works fine for me on several Intel Mac's.
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Won't make your download speed any faster, but should play the content in question.

  • Sharing flv or swf to social media sites

Hi all... I am researchign some solutions for building a new flash video player that will allow me to share the actual video on social media sites like Facebook.  What I'd like as far as UX is for the user to be able to watch the vidoe on my site, the click a button to share it on a site like Facebook... and then on Facebook, I'd like the video to actually show up, in the same way a vidoe shows up if you post a YouTube video there.  It's viewable on Facebook, and it's not a link to go back to the site webpage that contains the flv video.
I'm still working in AS2, that's why I'm posting in this forum.  This might also have to be resolved elsewhere like in the page language (asp, cfm, etc.), or through Facebook (FBML).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

To determine what project preset was set, one approach is to read the Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and its Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio fields even if they look grayed out. From those readings, you can reason back to what was set in the new project dialog for the project preset.
To get to the project presets yourself, go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Properties button in the New Project dialog. At that point - before you hit Change Settings button in the New Project dialog, the New Project dialog may (not always) display the project preset for the last project. If any problems in this regard, just tell me the readings in the Edit Menu/Project Settings/General, and I will interpret them for you.
Based on what you wrote....Project Settings DV Pal and Video Render Microsoft AVI DV Pal, your project could be set for PAL DV Standard or PAL DV Widescreen. The Pixel Aspect Ratio in Project Settings/General would give us our answer.
Also, are you saying that the same Premiere Elements Timeline in the same project can upload to Vimeo successfully but not YouTube? What is the file size and duration for that Timeline video as reflected at the bottom of the Premiere Elements YouTube export area?
Please let us know if you have more questions on this or need clarification.
    Thank you.

  • Cannot upload to social media! - no presets available

when i want to upload to social media no presets are shown
    what can i do?

Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Have you updated from 12 to 12.1 Update? If not, please do so, using a project's Help Menu/Update.
When you go to Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime, do you find presets for the QuickTime choice? If so, what are they?
Go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Web Sharing and refresh the Online Services?
Next, if problem not resolved...delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elemens
    12.0
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then we delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path. In Windows 8.1, I believe that the path to Folder Options starts with File Explorer.
Please review and consider and then let us know if any of the above works for you. More later.
    Thank you.

  • Problem with Exporting from Bridge CS5 to Social Media sites

    Hi Adobe users,
I'm a new French user of CS5 Bridge. My question is :
Is it possible for me to export pictures from Bridge to Social Media Sites like Facebook & Flickr ?
This topic (http://www.tipsquirrel.com/exporting-from-bridge-cs5-to-social-media-sites/) introduce me to exporting files but I haven't got the modules who were necessary for exporting. After, I do a Check For Update, without results. So I have another question :
What are the steps in order to have the necessary modules ?
    Thanks Julien BARREAU
    Sorry for my bad english.

You can't. The export module (btw gone in Bridge CC) has never worked properly for all social media. The reason they gave was due to rights management in different countries. It only worked in a few countries for Facebook.

  • Interactive buttons not working on interactive pdf when the Indesign links are set correctly

    Hi all,
I have one Indesign CS6 manual containing 17 files, 126 pages. This has been set to a book file.
This has been translated into 14 languages and now we are having problems creating the interactive pdfs.
After fixing the broken interactive buttons within the Indd files, we are finding that when we create the interactive pdfs, not all interactive button links work. When we recreate the same langauge interactive pdf we are finding that the buttons that were not working the 1st time, are now working, and some buttons that were working, are now not working.
    Is there a bug somewhere.
Any idea why the interactive buttons work one minute and then not the next, and vice versa.
Any idea how we can fix.
I’m using Indesign CS6 and Acrobat 9 Pro.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi LoriAUC,
Thanks for this. Very much appreciated.
I have asked sagar-khanna from the other discussion is he knows more about the broken links etc.
    Thanks again.
    Julie :-)

  • Interactive PDF not supporting .swf

We are currently producing an digital publication in InDesign CS5 that we would like to export as an interactive PDF.  The only way to get this to work, was to export as a Flash .swf, then place that into a new Indesign document, then export THAT as an interactive PDF.  Everything works great that way, EXCEPT any objects in the original document that are .swf, do not show up in the final PDF.  Is there a work around on this? Basically, a .swf-in a-swf works, swf to PDF works, BUT swf-in a-swf-to-PDF Doesn't work!

There are about fifty buttons that hide/show the various swf objects.  So all the buttons would have top be relinked somehow. The swf is a scrolling text window, so we could potentially get rid of it, if we figured out how to do a scrolling text window within InDesign?

  • Interactive pdf not interacting.

When I export my InDesign file as an 'interactive PDF' many of the radio buttons or text fields are not displayed.  Some tables display only some of the columns - top and bottom but miss the middle.  Navigation buttons appear on most pages but not all. Formatting applied to a text box in InDesign isn't carried over to the pdf.  Obviously somethings going wrong.  I've tried opening the pdf on other machines with similar results. Anybody able to offer suggestions?

Can you supply a screen shot from one INDD page and the corresponding PDF page in sufficient size to recognize it.
Can you specify your terms, what you have used.
What does "text box" mean? Is it a text frame as InDesign design element or do you mean a text field as part of a PDF form?
    What are navigation buttons here?
When navigation buttons appear not on all pages, where are they in InDesign? On the master? On all master?
Ho did you set up your radio buttons and text fields?

  • Indesign CS5 Interactive PDF not really an Interactive PDF?

I have created an online Interactive SWF file using Indesign for a corporate Newsletter and it works fine.
However, when asked if I could produce a PDF version I thought "sure, just convert it to an Interactive PDF!"
I was shocked to find that it does not work and that basically I had to rip the whole thing apart and rebuild it to make it a PDF, as creating hyperlinks instead of button actions to me is not an Interative PDF, which is all it seems to infer.
All of the Object States had to be dismantled and placed on seperate pages.
None of the Buttons created to go to different pages worked anymore, I had to remove the button states from the objects and convert them using Hyperlinks and Hyperlink Destinations, a lot of work.
Surely, since Adobe own Indesign and also own Acrobat it would be possible to convert an Indesign Project to PDF and have the buttons work correctly?
Also, none of the animations work, these had to be scrapped.
Any plans for a future release to rectify this and the reduce workflow?

If you spent any time looking at these features you would have seen that they are clearly SWF only.
The workaround for this is to export the SWF and place it in a PDF.

  • Simple Interactive PDF not working

Once again I'm stumped. I'm attampting to create a simple slide show which animates from one image to the next with just a previous and next button. The project seems to work fine when using the preview mode within InDesign CS6 (8.0.1), but when I export the document it will not work.
When I open the interactive PDF in Acrobat and attempt to click on the next and previous buttons, an icon appears of a Hand with a black down arrow on the hand?
Any thoughts as to what I might be doing wrong?
    Thanks.

    Simple slideshow? How?
My guess is you're using MSOs which are unsupported in PDF.

  • Retaining Two-Page Scrolling when Exporting to Interactive PDF Not Working

I'm currently trying to export from InDesign a continuous facing page PDF.
My document has four pages and is set up as pages, not spreads.
Left page is even, right is odd. Looks fine in InDesign.
I need to do Interactive due to hyperlinks, etc.
I choose Export and choose Interactive PDF
My settings are All, Pages, Fit Visible, Two-Up Continuous Facing
When it finishes and opens in Acrobat it's starting as a right, cover page. Even if I go to Two Page Scrolling/Viewing in Acrobat it shows my left-hand page starting on the right.
Is there something in Acrobat that isn't set up correctly? I'm using Adobe Cloud so latest version of all software. Thank you in advance! It's driving me crazy as it's always worked in the past.

Try turning on this setting in Acrobat:
View > Page Display > Show Cover Page in Two Page View

  • Interactive PDF Not Working On Other Computers

    Hi,
I created an interactive pdf from an Indesign file on my personal computer. I put the file on another computer but it doesn't work? What could be the problem?
    Thank you,
    Kristie

I'm trying to view the PDF on a MacIntosh. I created the PDF file on a PC
(Windows Vista) and used Indesign 5.5. I went to File, Export and selected
Interactive PDF as the file type. I accepted the other defaults. Also, I created
three bookmarks in the Indesign document. The first two work but the third one
doesn't and It's always the last bookmark I click on that fails to work. The
bookmarks work fine in the Indesign document.

  • Interactive pdf not interactive in CC

I made an interactive (Clickable) pdf and want users to demo the prototype in the CC. (The pdf was exported from Balsamiq, maybe you can see where I'm going with this....) However, when they arrive at the location of the file (from a link on my Prosite-- of which I am a paying member btw), the pdf is broken down into pages, losing all interactivity.
Is this because I am on a trial CC membership, & I don't have access to a feature, or do you not offer the kind of interactivity that you can get with say, MS WebApps? For example, I have a PPT in a Windows Live account folder (free), and when folks click on the link on my website, they jump to the PPT and can click on the screens to advance them. This is bascially the same interactivity in the pdf except it's hotspots on buttons. I thought Terry White said smthg about, "clients can view files in a browser," they don't need the software. There was no mention of having to download the file to access all of it's features. what can I do to avoid my users downloading the file to interact with it?
As an aside, I am frustrated that Behance aka Adobe won't allow pdf's or Flash files on user's portfolio sites ("not a supported media type"). What is the logic behind this? They are both Adobe products. There are tons of designers who want to show samples in these file types to show what they can do.

It has nothing to do with the trial version you are using.
If you provide a link to a file in CC your user is not looking at your pdf with a Reader. The user is looking at a view of the file, think of it as a printed version of your PDF file.  In order for a pdf to be interactive you have to use a viewer like Acrobat reader. You can also place InDesign AI and PSD files and the viewer would be able to see the files, (fonts don't work, yet with native files) fonts work with PDF files displayed on the CC, if they are embeded in the pdf file.
Behance is a very primitive portfolio site, jpeg and png are the only file types that you can place. Most designers that are that particular have there own web sites site for displaying their work. Behance is just fluffy stuff Adobe provides make the CC more attractive to designers.

  • Interactive PDF not working. Please help.

    Hi,
    Can anyone help me please?
I've created a website prototype with just two pages (home and lower page). For the relevant navigation I have created two links and and rollover states to demonstrate interactivity. I've set this up using slices and swap image behaviours. In preview mode, everything works as it should,  but when I export to PDF and view, only the links work, not the hover state changes.
Can anyone help me solve this issue as, for me, this is a major reason why I was trialing Fireworks in the first place as my chosen tool for web design. It means the difference between me continuing with Fireworks or reverting to Photoshop for protype creation.
Thanks again for any advice you can offer
    Greg

Sorry, I just wanted to be sure anyone else reading the thread didn't latch onto my suggestion in the wrong manner.
Hotspots do not support rollovers, even in Fireworks. Only slices support rollovers. Regardless of the web object used, it must indeed be a true rectangle (not a polygon that looks like a rectangle). Acorbat doesn't support polygon or elliptical web objects. I think they're completely ignored in the export process.
What you probably saw was Acrobat's capability to show a hot area. This is not to be confused with a swapped image from within the Fireworks document.
