Interactive PDFs and swf animation

hello,
I have created some animation to work in an interactive PDF which is in SWF format so it will work.
The problem I have is that I want to animation to play each time the page is visited within the document in acrobat, not just the first time the user goes that page and then it be fixed in the complete animation view.
I thought I might be able to make a button that would be a 'click to play' button, but the buttons don't have the option to play SWFs, only to play animation which I can't use as it has to be SWF animation to work in an Interactive PDF.
So is there another way to make the animation play more than once?
many thanks,
Chrissy

I've got the same issue here.

  • Interactive PDF with SWF animation goes white between pages

I am creating an interactive PDF in Indesign CC 2014, each page contains a SWF animation. The PDF is set to turn to the next page every few seconds. I get a white screen between pages. HELP! I don't know where this could be coming from.

SWF files take time to load. That’s probably what you’re seeing and
there’s no way to avoid it.

  • Missing images in pdf and swf

When I print to FlashPaper (2.01.2283) my pdf and swf result
files don't contain the logo image in the word document. Is there a
workaround for this. I was able to generate a correct pdf using
pdf995.com's free converter. But I would like also to provide the
site with Flashpaper, as I've been able to do this for all the text
    only documents.
    Thanks.

I think I've narrowed this down to the AVG Linkscanner. Turned it off and all images are present and correct.

  • Interactive PDF with .swf issues

    Hi,
Currently I am a graduating Senior in college and am trying to put together a PDF Portfolio for a few events and job applications. I had created a full page animation within InDesign CS5, and exported to a .swf.
When I place the .swf into the document, it is at full page size. However when I export the file an Interactive PDF, the animation appears with a one inch white margin around the full page animation.
I had gotten the animation to work once before, but unfortunately I forgot the process and cannot locate the tutorial online...and still being in school revisions (and due dates) are approaching. The settings for both the .swf and Interactive PDF are left to their default settings when I export them.
    Thanks for the help!

    Did you resolve this?
I'm having the same problem and can't fathom out how to correct it.
Any help would be hugely appreciated!

  • Protecting EXE, PDF and SWF files from piracy

I am hoping others in the community have some experience with protecting their Captivate output (EXE and SWF files) from piracy.  We will be selling our eLearning products developed with Captivate through our online store and want to protect them against file sharing and other forms of piracy.  I have found several companies online offering DRM (digital rights management) and SAS (software activation services) that require users to enter a license key to use the products.  I am looking for any recommendations from users who have implemented these types of services.  What provider did you use and what issues did you encounter.  Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jason

Most of the tools I have seen are geared towards extracting
resources from swf's. I use one myself (eltima.com) for
"harvesting" manufacturers content for my motorcycle dealers. They
are authorized to use this content, but finding someone at Yamaha
of Kawasaki or any of the majors who even knows where to find these
resources is next to impossible. I have also used it to learn from
by viewing scripts, but as you say, at the end of the day, I think
the concepts and best practices are about the only thing worth
taking away from others efforts, not the code.
Unlocking a protected file can be done as well and I remember
using a product over a year ago to get at the scripts within an swf
(I wanted the URL's that pointed to media - it was legal for me to
do this). It ran from the command line and output the scripts.
There aren't too many of these types of programs to be found, but
    they exist.
My personal opinion is that it's not worth the effort. My
java classes can be decompiled and if someone wants to go to that
trouble, more power to them. To my knowledge, there isn't anything
out there yet that is perfect for backwards engineering an swf into
an MXML file, but a competitor of FLASH Decompiler says that they
can decompile Adobe 9 PLAYER swf's. For what it's worth, I plan on
posting the majority of my code on my flexdev.org site once I get
    it established.
For people who make components for sale, this could be an
issue of stolen revenue if the decompilers get sophisticated enough
to reverse engineer the swc into a usable MXML file. I would be
against anyone who stole code for this purpose, for sure.

  • Interactive PDF or SWF book

    Hello All,
I have a book that has 35 documents in it. I have searched around trying to just get the short version on how to make it interactive. I realize that I can do it on one file. Before I get to far, can I do this with a book? Thinking a cover page with the interactive buttons and so forth?? I realize that I would have to set up each one with a page turn....ect.....
Is this possible?....or does it have to be just one big document??
Below is an example I found that someone created InDesign:
    Thanks a bunch!!!!
    http://webgoddessdesigns.net/my-first-interactive-catalog/

    Thanks, Frans.
There would clearly be various options for creating that kind of content in HTML5, but a particular request was to have a sort of eBook that people could load up on a tablet and annotate their own version. Do you know what elements of the brief we would have to sacrifice in order to have an annotatable eBook?
If we were to use DPS and Edge, would it be exporting to plain HTML5, or would there be any other options?

  • Need Help...exporting to interactive pdf and it insists on creating a form...

I can't figure out why when i export my interactive document to pdf, acrobat insists on thinking it is a form. It's not a form. The document consists of various buttons that are stickly for navigation within this long document and for pop-ups.
any help would be greatly appreciated. I am working in InDesign CS5.5 and AdobeX. thank you

The Acrobat team considers it as a feature. It can be turned off in Forms preferences in Acrobat (but you can't set it for someone who may be receiving the PDF file, unfortunately).

  • Making an interactive pdf with animations and a video?

    Hi Everyone,
I'm working in InDesign CS6 and I've made a interactive pdf with swf animations, exported it to an interactive pdf and everything works great from the little animations to the page curl. Now, I would like to put a video in on one of the pages.
I've placed it as a .mov and a .mp4, exported as a .swf. It works great in the swf and the html file. It even works great when I export the video page as a interactive pdf by itself.
BUT, when I export all the pages in my doc (with the animations and the video) as a swf, then RE-import into ID, to export as a interactive pdf... the pdf only gives me a static window. ALL the other animations and page curls work though.
So there's a disconnect between the video and going from a swf to a interactive pdf.
Can anyone tell me what step I'm missing or if this just isn't possible yet?!
    Thanks so much!!!

Without seeing actual file, it´s hard to say what´s going on... but have you chekced that Flash Player in Acrobat finds your video? When you export SWF from InDesign, videos or any other placed rich media files are not embedded into the SWF. InDesign creates a resources folder next to SWF and stores those media assets into that folder. If you don´t have that folder same place with exported SWF, you will have problems.
If you place your video file into your layout and export as PDF, there shouldn´t be any problems. But if you place your video file into your layout, export as SWF, place that SWF back to InDesign and then export as PDF... then you will lose the connection between resulting PDF and resources InDesign created.
One way to solve that is to use public URL for placing videos. Thwn you won´t need actual video file stored locally. Downside is that Acrobat/Reader may throw an alert about that.
Another way is to open your Interactive PDF to Acrobat, select placed SWF and embedd resources folder into PDF manually.

  • SWF animations not working properly when exported as PDF from InDesign

I'm using InDesign CS5 and have created a document that I want to add interactivity and animations to. I've created buttons and page destionations, etc, which all work perfectly  when exported to a PDF but the simple animation that I wanted to include don't work. The animations have been created in InDesign then selection exported as a SWF file and then imported and placed in InDesign and then exported as an interactive PDF where the animations either don't work, haven't been picked up or don not work as they should. What am I doing wrong, how do I get the animations to work correctly?

  • How to place swf in Interactive PDF below other objects/frames

    Hello there,
My first post here , I hope one can help.
I want to make a PDF with some text/content on top, and swf animation in the background - below content.
So I place SWF file into InDesign, bring it to the layer below texts, then I make spread preview. Works great, I have a nice photos in the background changing one to another [swf animation] and on the top texts about these photos.
Then I export it to interactive PDF and it just doesn't work this way. Animation displayes always on top, covering content.
Is there a way to have a movie in Interactive PDF covered partially by some other elements or it will be always on top, and to achieve this effect I need to export my inDesign project to SWF?

  • Making buttons rollovers and hyperlinks work in an interactive PDF!

    Hello!
I'm actually real life tearing my hair out here, I wonder if anyone can help??
I'm desperately desperately trying to make a simple document, that has a few menus where text will link to certain pages, and that has a few links to websites via highlighted text.
I have -finally after an entire day of trying!- managed to create a 'go to page' element in an interactive pdf so that the links within the document can connect to the correct pages. However! I cannot at all get the external website links to work and I cannot get any of the rollover states for the buttons to work. It is important to get it to work as otherwise the user doesnt know that its an interactive element!
    I hope that makes sense?
    To be clear:
-The Rollover states of the biuttons do not work ing an interactive pdf
-and the URL links do not work in a PDF
Please please can anyone help?? I was supposed to finish this this morning but it looks like it will be a late night for me. Adobe is usually so good but this has been a total nightmare, not intuitive to use at all and no clear information on how to use it
    Best

EDIT: I see you mentioned that yourself but the header of your question was 'How to make SWF file work in interactive PDF'. Strictly speaking, forgetting the iPad, the answer would be: export the animation from InDesign to SWF, delete the animation and now place the exported SWF back on the page. Then export to interactive PDF.
Still won't work on iPad however!
On Desktop this will work in PDF *if* Flash player is installed on that desktop for Adobe reader/Acrobat 10 and later; versions 9 and earlier have 'build in' Flash players...

  • Can Adobe Interactive PDFs play sound from imported .swf files

    Hello.
I'm really really stuck, can anyone help? I'm on 10.8.3 using In Design CS6
I am trying to get an interactive PDF with imported .sfw files with sound to play ....the sound. Preview is fine in the working file - but as per the previous query on thishttp://forums.adobe.com/message/4772574 - The interactive PDF loses the sound. I tried installing ezPDF - but it's an app and I don't know how to install it to work (I think it's meant for  iPADs). So...does anyone know if I can have an imported .swf file play when exported to an Interactive PDF and also work on an end users PC?...should I be able to install ezPDF reader on my MAC and get everything working?
Any help would be good as this is day 3 having called Adobe on Day 1 which was fruitless.
    Thanks

Really hard to say without seeing the whole project, but my guess is that you have moved your exported SWF somewhere from it´s original location (where you exported it to) without moving Resources folder to same target location too... when you place video, audio or SWF to your layout, indesign does not embedd it to resulting SWF. Those files will be stored into a resources folder which always has to be at same root with exported SWF. Media files will be loaded dynamically from that folder at runtime.
So you can guess what happens if that folder does not exist....
