Interactive Report Formatting

I created an interactive report and used the compute functionality to add some data computations. I want to format them (i.e. center the data, wrap the text in the header, etc.). I tried to use html to wrap the text in the header, but it didn't recognize it. Is there any way to center the data, wrap text, etc. on these computations?

  • Error in exporting from Interactive Report to PDF format

    Hello,
i am using APEX and from an Interactive Report i am trying to export using Download | PDF format. The table and corresponding report has only text fields. Database character set is UTF-8. Up to now i haven't been able to get a PDF file that can be open from Adobe Acrobat Reader. Every file fails opening with message like "Adobe Reader could not open filename.pdf, because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). This happens for every report i have tried up to now. If i export report in CSV format all are ok.
Is there a known bug with PDF download of APEX?
    TIA

    See this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html
FOP & Cocoon are free (just need to install the software and configure) Bi Publisher I believe works only for Standard Reports and no Interactive reports at this time.. If you have the $$ BI Publisher is worth the investment!!
Also, it is rumored that APEX 4.0 will have the PDF generation built in as apposed to the current model where you need to bolt something on..

  • Date format interfering with interactive report

    My APEX version is 3.1.1.00.09.
I'm using a method described elsewhere to change the global date format of my application. I have application items for a start and end date. I have two application processes, one for On Load: Before Header, the other for On Submit: After Page Submission - Before Computations and Validations. They both do:
    DBMS_SESSION.SET_NLS(param => 'NLS_DATE_FORMAT', value => '''fmMM/DD/fmYY''')
Okay, all is well with that, my dates seem to stay the way I want them to. Since our upgrade I'm going through each section of my application and updating as necessary, and I particularly want to use the interactive reports. They work fine when the page is loaded, but if I change any options on the interactive report and submit it, I get an "ORA-01843: not a valid month" error. If I refresh the page, everything works as it should.
What can I do to get around this, or do I have something wrong with my method that is causing this to happen?
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I tried to replicate this, but could not. Now granted, I tried this using the new "modern" method of controlling the default application date format via the new application Globalization attribute "Application Date Format". I set the Application Date Format to fmMM/DD/fmYY and my IR on EMP worked just fine.
If you can replicate this on apex.oracle.com (using Application Date Format), I'd be happy to take a look at it.

  • Format in different ways different BreakTotals in Interactive Reporting

    Hello everybody,
    Platform: Hyperion System 9.3.1.
I need help in formating totals in an Interactive Reporting report.
    The report shows stock data:
geographic area, country, city, store, article, stock quantity
I have created break totals for geographic area, country, city, store.
I would like to format differently these totals:
for example the total for geografic area in blue, the total for country in green and so on...
and finally the grand total (a format different from the ones of the above break totals)
Any help will be very appreciated.
    Thank you!
    Daniela

Instead of Break Totals in a Table use either Report Groups (Footers) or embedded Pivot on the report

  • Download to CSV format in Interactive report

    Hi all,
We have APEX 4.2. We have created Interactive report on a table. When we download that report to csv, everything is fine except for loan number which is a varchar2(50 Byte) (e.g. 210568900000000012). It is shown as 2.10569E+15. When we try to format the cell as text, it rounds off the number (e.g 210568900000000000).
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Andy

I encountered this issue previously, but regarding leading zeroes. It was really a battle with Excel - not APEX.
Although I'd be interested to see if anyone has found a workaround that made Excel interpret it as a character instead of a number. We tried a few leads but to no avail.

  • Does not appear possible to use date formatting in interactive reports

I've an interactive report displaying a column of data type = date. When populated with the result of "select (sysdate) from dual;", regardless of what data type conversion (to_char/to_date) or what time formatting is used (attempting DD-MON-YYYY HH:MIPM), the displayed time is always 12:00AM.
    Thanks!
    Paul

Can you post a small example of what you are trying to do on the hosted instance of APEX from Oracle? You are trying to get the following:
SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'DD-MON-YYYY HH:MI PM') test_col FROM DUAL to format properly?
It returns: 18-NOV-2010 09:51 PM in a one column report for me..
    Thank you,

  • Interactive Reports Download In Colour format in html and csv

Hi All I want to download interactive report in colour format(as it is format) in html and csv using apex 4.0.2
    Regards
    Robert

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma-separated_values
A comma-separated values (CSV) file stores tabular data (numbers and text) in plain-text form. As a result, such a file is easily human-readable (e.g., in a text editor).re: colours of html output
interestingly, there are settings in print attributes, but they have no bearing on the output... obviously nothing to do with the html output. Probably best bet is BI Publisher, where you can define your own report templates.

  • Non-Interactive Report Break Formatting

I have a non-interactive report that is very large and I am trying to use break formatting to provide subtotals. It works, but is quite ugly. Can anyone tell me where I might find a list of the various substitution strings that can be used for controlling the appearance of the breaks? For example, right now when it breaks for a change in "Payor Name", the subtotal row is labeled "Total for Payor Name". It would be much friendlier if the row label said "Total for Aetna" when Aetna is the Payor Name and "Total for Cigna" when the Payor Name is Cigna, etc. For example

  • Interactive Report Need total of aggregate (sums) where break format used

I have an interactive report that uses break formatting. When I do an aggregate (sum) for the Quantity Column I get the sums for each campaign_id (used for the break format column). This is great. However, at the bottom of the report I need a grand total for all campaign ids (a sum of the sums) in a new row at the bottom of the report. Is this possible?
I can't paste a screenshot here to show but her is a simple one column example - I can't make the columns stay lined up but I think you can see what I need.
    {code
Campaign Hand Addressed (break format column)
    Quantity
    100
    200
    Sum:300
    Campaign Travel Check
    Quantity
    100
    500
    Sum:600
Sum:900 This is row I need to add
    Oracle 11GR2
    APEX 3.2.1

This works when I run it in SQL Developer. Now I enter this for my report query in APEX and I get the "not a GROUP BY expression.
    {code
    SELECT *
    FROM t3_mail_piece t
    WHERE t.week_id = 11
    GROUP BY ROLLUP(t.campaign_id, t.market_id)
    ORDER BY t.campaign_id
    , SUM(t.quantity);
    What is different?

  • Interactive Report - Break formatting style

    Hi All,
Is there a way to make Interactive reports break format work/look like classic reports break format? i.e.1st,2nd,3rd column option. The way IR breaks is that is reserves a whole row for the column used in the break, which is not what I want, I want the report to look like the following:
    city               emp           sal
    Chicago     John Miller  1500
                     Mark Horton 2000
    Denver       Rob Martino 1200
I tried to use rollup queries which work fine except that it does not do exactly what I want when I sort columns through the front end , I am basically displaying a check box for grouped records ( and I want it to display at the first record of each group), so the order is important. for example:
    checkbox   City               emp           sal
    [ ]               Chicago     John Miller    1500
                                      Mark Horton  2000
    [ ]              Denver       Rob Martino  1200
    Thanks,
    Sam

would someone please confirm if this is doable/undoable at least? I've spend a lot of time exploring possible options (none worked) and it would really help if someone can help me saving some time.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Interactive reports - Number formats

    Hi Guys,
I am new to Interactive Reports. I have a number column that I want to but a format on and have a total which I also want to format. Any ideas. TO_CHAR means I cannot apply an aggregate.
    Thanks

Go to Report Attributes tab, and click on the Edit icon in the Column Attributes area. In Column Definition, you will see Number/Date Format option.
    Hope it helps.

  • Download formats for interactive reports

    Hi,
how can I activate the other possible download formats (RTF and XLS) at my interactive reports? I only see the CSV anf PDF-format.
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

    Hello Norbert,
you have to buy BI Publisher to be able to export the other formats.
If you already have BI Publisher you can choose between the formats on print attributes page of report definition.
If your user shall be able to select the download format you have to create an item (I would use a select list) where the user can specify which format he wants. This item you can reference on the print attirbutes page, too.
    Regards, Tine.

  • Conditional Column Formatting in an Interactive Report?

Is it possible to add conditional column formatting in an Interactive Report in Apex 4.1? I've found numerous examples for older versions using the standard (classic) report, but I haven't found any with the new Interactive Report. Is this possible? and if so, can someone point me in the direction of some documentation or examples?
I simply want to change the color of the text depending on whether a column has a value (eg. Error or Problem).
    Thanks

    Oracle Application Express (APEX)
As interactive reports lack the HTML Expression feature of standard reports, the simple way to do this unfortunately requires violating the separation of concerns and generating structural (a <tt>span</tt> element) and presentational (an in-line style sheet) aspects in the query:
    select
    ⋮
           , case
               when trunc(calling_date,'DD') =  trunc(sysdate,'DD')
               then
                 '<!-- ' || to_char(calling_date, 'YYYYMMDD') || ' --><span style="color: #3399FF;">' || to_char(calling_date) || '</span>'
               else
                 '<!-- ' || to_char(calling_date, 'YYYYMMDD') || ' --><span>' || to_char(calling_date) || '</span>'
             end calling_date
⋮For number/date columns to be properly sortable, the leading edge of the column must be an HTML comment that provides the required sort order using character semantics, as shown here.
The Display As column attribute for such columns must be set to Standard Report Column.
This method has side effects: some IR filters won't work; aggregate calculations can't be applied to the column; and report exports contain the HTML rather than the expected value.
Other approaches involve using Dynamic Actions/jQuery/JavaScript, or using the built-in highlight as suggested above, then saving the highlighted report as the default.

  • Formated Interactive Reports

I'm creating Interactive Reports and reducting the font size in the query.
When I use the filter resources from the report or exporting it in csv format, the html code from the query apears.
What can I do that it don't appears?

    Hi,
Try if this is what you looking for
Remove HTML tags from your query.
Then put below to page HTML header
    <style>
    table.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td {font:normal 4pt Tahoma!important;}
    </style>
