Interactive Report with union all in the query
I have an interactive report with the following query in the report region:
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
from journal_entries
union all
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
from charge_entries;
This gets translated as listed below during runtime. I am trying to pass a value to both SELECT statements instead of the just the bottom select statement. Is this possible using interactive reports.
select
PROPERTY,
SADDR1,
UPOSTDATE,
SOTHERDATE1,
ACCOUNT,
SDESC,
UREF,
SUSERDEFINED1,
TRANS_NOTES,
SAMOUNT,
DETAIL_NOTES,
"JOURNAL_CONTROL-1000000000" "JOURNAL_CONTROL-1000000000"
from (
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
from journal_entries
union all
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
from charge_entries
) r
where ("PROPERTY" = :APXWS_EXPR_1)
0.14: IR binding: ":APXWS_EXPR_1"="APXWS_EXPR_1" value="prop1"
Thanks for any help,
Jim
The bottom query is actually the third query, it encompasses the two that are unioned. It is generated by APEX to allow for the search facility - to achieve what you want ignore the larger query, and get your query working in something like SQL developer. Once it's working then put it into APEX, and the search wrapper will be generated.
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-1000000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,samount,detail_notes
from journal_entries
where property = :YOUR_CRITERIA
union all
select property,saddr1,upostdate,sotherdate1,journal_control-700000000,account,sdesc,uref,
suserdefined1,trans_notes,stotalamount,detail_notes
from charge_entries
where property = :YOUR_CRITERIA;
Then you need to think about how you are using the report, if it is linked to from another report, then create a hidden variable and pass it from the parent.
If the report is standalone , then you could create an item , that can be edited and when submitted, re-executes the report based on the criteria entered.

Drill Down with Union ALL in a query
Why when i use a UNION ALL in a query or some sentences of SQL the drilldown disappears ? Does exists a special syntax ??
A query example:
SELECT DISTINCT CASE T0.[ObjType] WHEN '13' THEN 'Factura' WHEN '203' THEN 'F. Anticipo' END AS Documento, T0.[DocNum] AS NumDocumento, T0.[DocDate] AS Fecha, T0.[NumAtCard] AS Referencia, T2.[DocNum] AS 'Ref NC',
T0.[DocTotal] AS TotalMN, T0.[DocTotalFC] AS TotalME, CASE T1.[TaxCode]
WHEN 'A2' THEN '15'
WHEN 'A1' THEN '10'
WHEN 'A0' THEN '0'
END AS '%IVA', T0.[DocRate] AS TC FROM OINV T0 INNER JOIN INV1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry LEFT JOIN ORIN T2 ON T1.TrgetEntry = T2.DocEntry
UNION ALL
SELECT DISTINCT CASE T0.[ObjType] WHEN '13' THEN 'Factura' WHEN '203' THEN 'F. Anticipo' END AS Documento, T0.[DocNum] AS NumDocumento, T0.[DocDate] AS Fecha, T0.[NumAtCard] AS Referencia, T2.[DocNum] AS 'Ref NC',
T0.[DocTotal] AS TotalMN, T0.[DocTotalFC] AS TotalME, CASE T1.[TaxCode]
WHEN 'A2' THEN '15'
WHEN 'A1' THEN '10'
WHEN 'A0' THEN '0'
END AS '%IVA', T0.[DocRate] AS TC FROM ODPI T0 INNER JOIN DPI1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry LEFT JOIN ORIN T2 ON T1.TrgetEntry = T2.DocEntryCarlos
When you use the Union Clause you will not get the Drill Down link button. You may try creating a view of your Query and then Create a new Query in SAP joining the View and the SAP table containing the link data to get the links.

Report which concatenates 13 views with union all running slowly
Oracle 8.1.7 windows 2000 server
I am trying to improve the performance of a report which is comprised of 13 views.
When I run each of the views individually, the total run time for the views is less than 5 minutes. When I run the report, it takes 28 minutes.
Can anyone suggest why the extra time is being taken?
To reiterate:
select a,b from c; (executes in 10 seconds)
select d, e from f (executes in 3 seconds)
select x, y from z (executes in 1 minute)
total runs time = 5 minutes
However,
select a,b from c
union all
select d, e from f
union all
select x, y from z (executes in 28 minutes)
The execution plans do not change between the report and the indiividual views. Views are being concatenated with union all so no sorting is taking place
Many thanks,
Jason Parker.

RCTry this:
1) In each of your three separate queries, add another column.
2) Create BINS according to how you want the final report be sorted: Asian = '1', Black = '2', etc...
3) Sort on this column in the combined query.
Since each query will have the proper number assigned to the group, the report will sort as you wish... -
Interactive Report with Null Columns
I've got a user who wants to export an interactive report, and he needs certain columns to appear on the export for him to fill the data in later (this is an intermediate step, while we work on getting all the data he needs in to the database). I've created the report query, and there are a handful of null/empty columns (to preserve the correct order for the export). When I try to add this query to APEX in an interactive report, I get a "ORA-00001: unique constraint (APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_COLUMNS_UK2) violated" error.
Googling around shows me that this happens because of similarly-named columns, and the solution is to provide aliases to all columns. My report has aliases on all columns, but I still cannot create an interactive report. I've tried changing the null columns to empty strings, as well as enclosing the aliases in double-quotes, but nothing works. I can however use my original query to create a standard report, but due to the export requirement, this isn't ideal.
I was able to create the interactive report with one null column, and then edited the report source to add in the others. This had to be done one at a time, since trying to add multiple null columns at the same time gives the same error again. Unfortunately, when I try and run the page, I get an "ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined" error.
My original query:
select customer.customer_name as customer,
project.name as project_name,
trunc(project.estimated_end_dt) as due_date,
project_status.project_status_desc as status,
null as revenue,
project.baseline_effort as baseline_hours,
null as projected_cost,
null as est_gain_loss,
project.actual_hours as actual_hours,
project.estimated_hours as projected_hours,
null as projected_cost,
null as projected_gain_loss,
null as roi
from project,
customer
where customer.customer_id = project.customer_id
and project.inactive_ind = 0
and project.customer_id is not null
and project.estimated_end_dt >= :DTP_P50_STARTDT
and project.estimated_end_dt <= :DTP_P50_ENDDT
order by customer.customer_name,
project.estimated_end_dt; Can someone tell me a way to create an interactive report with multiple null columns?Hi shimmoril,
The problem is likely that you have two columns aliased as "projected_cost" (7th column and 11th column).
Hope this helps,
John

Interactive Report with PL/SQL Function Source
Is it possible to create interactive report with PL/SQL function source returing a query? If not, has anyone done any work to simulate the interactive reporting feature for a normal report using API?
I haven't tried that before but you could:
1. create a collection from your result set returned by a dynamic query,
2. create a view on that collection,
3. use the view in your interactive report.
The usability of this proposal depends from a question how "dynamic" your query is - does it always have the same number of columns or not.

REPORT WITH CHANGING ITEM ON THE SAME COLUMN
Hi to all,
i'm trying to build a report with different item in the same column.
Is that possible in any way using other Oracle technique?
i'm not doing anything specific here, only i would like to know if the following possibility exist or not and how can i let apex render the htmldb_item fields 'dynamically'.
Using this CODE inside a PL/SQL function body returning sql query I obtain the following report content. Such the code of htmldb_item.fields is written, as a field value the HTML_ITEM is not rendered, so only the description of them appear in the report.
Does somebody know some tricks to make it work?
Thanx a lot
1 2 LAST_CALL htmldb_item.date_popup (4, ROWNUM, FLD_VALUE,'dd/mon/yyyy') VALUE
21 1 AGE htmldb_item.text(4,FLD_VALUE,10,10) VALUE
create or replace FUNCTION FNC_GEN_GUI_ITEM(ITEM_TYPE NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR2 AS
STRHTMLDITEM VARCHAR2(4000);
BEGIN
CASE ITEM_TYPE
WHEN 1 THEN STRHTMLDITEM:=' htmldb_item.text(4,FLD_VALUE,10,10) VALUE ';
WHEN 2 THEN STRHTMLDITEM:=' htmldb_item.date_popup (4, ROWNUM, FLD_VALUE,''dd/mon/yyyy'') VALUE ';
END CASE;
RETURN STRHTMLDITEM;
END FNC_GEN_GUI_ITEM;
MY TABLE AS FOLLOWS:
CREATE TABLE "NEWPROJ"."DINFIELDGUI"
( "ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,
"FLD_TYPE" NUMBER,
"FLD_NAME" VARCHAR2(4000 BYTE),
"FLD_VALUE" VARCHAR2(4000 BYTE),
CONSTRAINT "DINFIELDGUI_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("ID"));

Marcello NocitoHi to all,
i've solved, is very simple using decode inside the select:
SELECT
ID,
FK_HTMLDB_ITEM, DECODE(FK_HTMLDB_ITEM,1,HTMLDB_ITEM.DATE_POPUP(3,rownum,VAL,'dd-mon-yyyy'),2,HTMLDB_ITEM.TEXT(3,VAL)) VALORE
FROM TESTID
my table is:
CREATE TABLE "DEV"."TESTID"
( "ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,
"FK_HTMLDB_ITEM" NUMBER,
"VAL" VARCHAR2(4000 BYTE))
Bye Bye -
Is it possible to sort an interactive report with a default column ?
Hi,
I have a nice request used with an interactive report.
select "ID",
"DATE_CREATION",
"SERVICE",
"RESPONSABLE",
"NATURE_CONTRAT",
"SOCIETE",
"DATE_DEBUT",
"DATE_FIN",
"DELAI_RENOUVELLEMENT"
from "#OWNER#"."CONTRATS_MAINTENANCE"
order by DATE_FIN descUnfortunately, the interactive report does not displays using the order into the SLQ query.
I tried to de select the "sort" option of each other columns into the Column attributes Section, but without any improvement. If I remove the order statement from the SQL query, nothing changes in the order.
Do you have an idea on how to display the lines in the order of the sql query ?
Thank you for your knid answers !
ChrstianChristian,
This can be a little tricky at first. Try this:
1. Remove the order by clause from the query.
2. Log out of the application, not the builder, just the application.
3. Log back in and try using the options in the interactive report to sort the information.
Does it work? If so:
4. Get the order the way you would like it as the default. Note: you get more sort options if you use the Action Menu (grind wheel) and selecting Sort over just clicking the column headers.
5. Save the report by selecting the Save Report option from the Action Menu. If you see a drop down, save the report as the "default".
6. Log out of the application again and back in.
Does it work?

Dan

Help required on UNION ALL for select query
Hello all,
The execution plan for an SQL is impacted when another SELECT is concatenated with a UNION ALL. The two SELECTS are very efficient when run separately (< 100 buffer gets), but when run together (using a UNION ALL), the execution plan changes (for the first SELECT) and the buffer gets jumps to over 45000!
what customer says with the UNION ALL, Oracle instead of doing a Merge Scan (that allows the inner table to filter out the rows from the outer table), chooses to do a NL join. This results in a Unique Index scan for each one of the 15000 rows in the outer table, resulting in 46000 consistent gets.
Can you please suggest customer why plan changes when they use UNION ALL & also suggest better way of running query.
Please refer to below explain plan .

Making a customized Interactive Report visible to all users?
Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to make a customized Interactive Report visible to all Apex users, and if so - how?
The Apex application I'm trying to do this in has a customized authentication scheme with each user having a distinct :APP_USER variable.Hi,
you need to save the IRR as an APEX developer during the runtime of your application. Just make your IRR changes and save it as default.
You could also take a look into this post: http://dpeake.blogspot.com/2009/01/preserving-user-saved-interactive.html,

Interactive Report with Flash "Copy to Clipboard" Button
Hi all,
I need to implement a button in the interactive report, which will allow me to copy the customer address to the clipboard. After reading this great note (Copy to Clipboard LMCButton) I have implemented it, but the interactive report does not working properly - the pagination does not working, I can't use other interactive report features from the actions menu, and s.o.
Additionally I have the problem with IE 10 and Coogle Chrome:
IE 10 shows me the button only if I upload the swf file to the #IMAGE_PREFIX# directory
Google Chrome shows me the flash button not at all.
The javascript function call is in the "HTML Expression" field of the interactive report column.
Hier ist the link to my allpication: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=2071:213Most likely, you'll need to build a plugin.
Take a look at the Enkitec - Sparkline plugin for implementation ideas

I Created a power view in Excel 2013 and uploaded to my Power BI for o365 site.
But when i click on my excel file it opens in browser,After that i click on File tab its showing me two option
1. Save a Copy
2.Download a copy
When i click on save a copy its showing me an warning below
Features that are not supported by Excel in the browser and interactive reports will be removed from the saved copy.
Continue with Save?
If i continue saving it only saves an excel files with data only not the power view which i want to save with applied filters.
Please help me for thisJust to clarify, when you hit the option of Save As Copy, the whole experience goes into a "read-write" mode in Excel services, which currently doesn't support authoring, just consumption of PowerView sheets.
Two mitigations that come to mind:
1. Download the copy (as Brad suggests), rename the file and upload.
2. Use the send to option of SharePoint online, give the file the right target document library (can be the same as source) and rename the file:

I cant retrieve my images from webcams that are cached any more with mozilla. With netscape all of the live webcam images from live cams were automatically saved in my cache folder and all i had to do was open it send the files to acdsee and turn them into jpgs. It would save them untill the Cache ran out of room no matter how many files or sites I had running. Mozilla seems to save what it wants when it wants and often dose not save any that I can retrieve because I believe it is bulking them into Cache 123 or 4 and those i cant open to retrieve the files. Sometimes it saves 100 or so and sometimes 2 or 3 sometimes 10 or more but i don't seem to have any control over what it does or does not save to retrieve no matter how much space i allow for the cache to save.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== I finally gave up trying to keep netscape due to all the ridiculess popups and continued reminders from you saying i had to switch overYou have or had an extension installed (Ant.com Toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.3 to Firefox/3.0.12.
You can see the Firefox version at the top and the user agent at bottom of the "Help > About" window (Mac: Firefox > About Mozilla Firefox).
You can check the '''general.useragent''' prefs on the '''about:config''' page.
You can open the ''about:config'' page via the location bar, just like you open a website.
Filter: '''general.useragent'''
If ''general.useragent'' prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose ''Reset''.

Problem opening reports with a user in the Oracle Directory.
I have already followed all the steps in the user's guide to run reports with a user in the Oracle Directory.
I accessed the enterprise security manager and created the mandatory xml publisher roles, besides I created another role. I added user A to the new role I created.
I accessed then the administrator tab in XML publisher. I went to roles and the role I created was there. When I tried to add a folder. I'm able to add the folder there. I click on apply and then when I enter in the security Settings again the folder is not there anymore.
I get the following error in the log:
[021207_103218621][][EXCEPTION] oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.resources.ResourceNotFoundException: /opt/oracle/infra2/j2ee/home/xmlpublisher
/Admin/Security/security.xml
When I access xml publisher with the user A, who belongs to the new role I'm working with, I'm not able to see any folder, nor anything else.
Do you have any ideas about what could be going wrong?
Thanks,
JoaquinCan you replay how? I have been facing this problem for nearly 3 months without any solution. Please help me.
