Interactive wire frames

Hi. I am working with CS6 and putting together some interactive wire frames. Is it possible to create a back button? I see that you can make all kinds of other buttons, including a 'previous' button, but that just seems to take you to the preceding page - not necessarily the page you navigated from. Can any one help. Thanks.

Have never found a way to do that in InDesign, so I add that in Acrobat.

  • Is there a "wire frame" option, like in FCP (Zoom to canvass?)

    I have video that is sideways (held camera that way to get portrait style footage).
    I see how it is easy to crop and rotate those clips in iMovie 09, but that leaves me with big black borders on the sides.
    I understand why this is happening. The aspect ratio, etc.
    But in Final Cut there is an option to zoom in to the canvass. In FCP: this will create a white wire frame X on top of the canvas which can be dragged beyond the boundaries of the canvass.
    I know it will degrade somewhat and I will lose some of the image (like using zoom or widescreen on a tv) but that is better than having part of a movie suddenly look narrow and black bordered.
    I tried starting with projects in 4:3 and in 16:9. But I can't drag that green scale box beyond the edge.
    Any way to do this? Thanks.

    You've given me very helpful answers in other, related posts. One in particular you clarified by writing: +For iMovie to see an Event it need to be in the Movies/iMovie Projects folder on the boot drive, OR in the iMovie Events folder at the top level of an external drive.+
    So I'm going to take advantage of your knowledge and helpful nature by asking another related question I have not received an answer to.
    Is there any way to use a Disc Image (a .dmg) that I created on an external drive, to store an Event and Project. I can do so storing the Event on that external drive itself now that you clarified for me where it needs to be. But the disc image, after mounting, has a small yellow triangle over it. So I cannot get an Events folder on it (though I tried manually outside of iMovie, just to see).
    What do you think, are disc images completely off limits?

    When I use the selection tool to move vector points and bend edges, I only see the change in wire frame.  Once I commit by letting go of the mouse button, the object does change.  It just previews with a wire frame. I would like to see the preview change on the solid object.  Is there a setting somewhere?
    I sure hope I am explaining this for people to understand .

    What do you mean by wire frame??And are you using selection or sub-selection tool since you have mentioned about vector point I doubt if it is sub-selection tool.Could you please attach a video demonstrating the issue where we see the mismatch in the preview and the output, so that we can understand the problem better and try to resolve it.

  • Trying to create a wire frame object in 3D

    Hi Folks, I am trying to create two objects: something called a gravity well and a wire framed globe in Photoshop 3D CS6. The examples are here: http://www.carreonphotography.com/3D/   #'s 1/5 and 5/5. I tried using a gradient map to create a depth map but the form is not editable if I understand PS 3D correctly. Only the scale, light, texture and perspective.
    The surace of the gravity well needs to be a  white wire grid pattern over black with. The globe is basically the same. Can this be accomplished on Photoshop CS6 3D or do I have to farm this out to a 3D guy.
    I have included samples of my objectives: #1 and 5 plus screen shots of what I ended up with, the form of which was uneditable based on what I understand. I also don't know how I would create the wire frame once I have the form.
    I deally I would use the final images as png's on a 2D suface which I would later wrap onto a 3D surface.
    Any thoughs please!

    As recommended by someone on the forums I started with a 32 bit grid map but knocked it down to 16 bits to speed up the 3d engine. Was my thinking correct? Can I use a gray scale image instead so PS CS6 doesn't get bogged down?
    I used an 8-bit grayscale image for the grid and I rendered to 16-bit output (i.e. my main document's mode was 16-bit RGB). Rendering to floating point 32-bit output images can have advantages when using illuminants with realistic intensities but it usually requires subsequent tone mapping. I don't think your illustrative image will benefit from that, so I recommend you render to 16-bit.
    There is absolutely no reason to use a 32-bit per channel image for that grid opacity texture. The grid has only black and white and is entirely horizontal and vertical lines, so you should be able to get away with a 1-bit per pixel texture, but use an 8-bit grayscale texture because I know that works in Photoshop
    The output of the final document is 5000 X 5000 pixels but the gravity well is but small element in the background so I have made it 3000 by 3000. If the 3D engjine is using vector math to draw the lines, does size even matter?
    The polygons making up the surfaces that are rendered will be calculated with vector maths but the size of the opacity texture should be large enough to prevent it becoming fuzzy due to upscaling to cover the surface area when rendering an image of a given size. Remember that a texture can be tiled (up to ten times in each direction) to repeat over a surface (using the UV Mapping Properties), so your grid doesn't need to define every "square" of the well.
    Can't figure out how to move a point light from the bottom so it matches the second example. I like the way this artist handles transparency in his grid. Can you tell me now to move the light. The interface is different than in CS5 tutorials.
    Click on a point light with the Move Tool to activate its manipulator then drag on the heads of the red, green and blue arrows. You might want to switch view to each of the top, right and front views to aid alignment. You can store the current 3D view before changing then return to it. There's a secondary view window that can be enabled, which would aid with alignment, but it doesn't show lights for some reason.
    Is it possible to select all the shape layers containing horizontal lines and change their width simultaneously? I am doing so one layer at a time.
    Do you mean to scale the width of the lines without scaling their offset?

    So I have two photos and in between I put a dip to color transition
    Instead of the dip color staying within the wire frame, which is at 100% as far as scale, the transition dip color extends beyond the actual frame size

    wire frames are technology agnostic and are to sketch user interfaces and navigation flows. So there is no dependency to JDeveloper or APEX. For ADF Faces - as Timo mentions - we do provide Microsoft Visio stencil to mockup user interfaces. However, these go beyond wireframes because wireframes don't actually focus on look and feel but layout only

    Using the Blend tool to blend between two paths would be the obvious answer, but each of the instances in the blend will be equally spaced, when what you want is for the instances to get closer together at either side of the blend (logarithmic blends). You can simulate this fairly successfully by replacing the blend's spine with a curved path, and then adjusting that path's handles.

    Hi Cas,
    If you have published the site to Business Catalyst and the site is still in trial mode, you have nothing to worry about. A robots.txt file is automatically added to the trial sites in BC. So search engines can't index the BC trial sites.

  • Adding aspect ratio wire frame

    I'm trying to add a frame on top of the video I'm compressing in Compressor to show an aspect ratio (1:78, 1:85, 2:35). I know how to add a matte, but this blocks a portion of the image. I instead want to still show the full image, simply with a frame or guideline on top. I'm creating dailies using Compressor, and like that I can burn in time code, but really want the aspect ratio frame as well. So for example, the production may be shooting 16x9, but the final cut will be 1:85. I want the dailies to still be in 16x9, showing the entire image that was shot, but with the added 1:85 frame on top. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Yeah, it looks like in Compressor you can only crop, not overlay.
    You could make a little rectangle with very thin sides in FCP by combining two 4-point mattes.
    Save that frame to disk and then import it into Compressor as a watermark.

    Pencil Project is not working as needed. Maybe the pencil project has not caught up to the updates of the FF browser.

    Is this an extension? Have you tried opening the .xpi file with an archive handler like Betterzip or Zipeg, extracting the install.rdf file, and increasing the max version number for the target application? After you edit that, save the file, then insert it back into the archive and save it, then reinstall it.

  • Selecting Objects [Wire Frames]

    Hello.  When I select and object on the timeline, I understand that you have to double click it on your canvas to actually enable the wireframes and move it around.  Is there anyway that when I click something on the timeline it automaticly selects it so i dont have to double click it?  I'm trying to move a color matte thats under text, and everytime i double click to try and select the matte its selecting the text over it and its driving me crazy.  So my question is again, is there anyway to have something wireframed when i select it on the timeline instead of having to double click it on the canvas to enable the wireframes?

    Your right, as amazing PP is; I wish some of the things in it were similar work flows as FCP were.  The only reason why i made the switch in the first place is because of the cloud and how apples is more for final cut x (which sucks).  Thanks for your help

  • Exporting to SWF - interactive indesign documents

    Ok so I have been playing around again with the idea of producing some interactive wire frames using indesign and exporting to swf. I have a global nav at the top that is working just fine. I also have some links futher down the page, and that's where the problem is.
    Let's say I have a link called 'Map' half way down the page. It's a long page around 4000 px. So let's say the 'Map' link 2000 px down the page. When I click on the link it takes be to the map page, but postions me at 2000 pixles down the page. Not at the top of the page where I want to be.
    I have had a play around with the Zoom drop down but I am not having any success.
    I don't want to export to pdf as I want to be able to set target pages for the links with in indesign, and not have to mess around in acrobat after (potentialy This document will have a tonne of pages).
    Anyone got any ideas (please)

  • Can't get new interactions to work (but previous ones work just fine...)

    I'm making an interactive wire frame/prototype in which I have build some "text entry fields" by using the simple contact form and making everything in it but some single line form fields invisble.
    The first one worked just fine. In preview, I could see the different stages and type in the fields.
    But then I copy-pasted the entire contact form - and those form fields are only seen in the normal state, when I preview. All though I got several states - nothing happens when I try to mouse over them, click them or type in them... In fact I have noticed, that after a specific time, when I was working yesterday, all new interactions that I try to embed, doesn't work (incl. photoshop button and object states), but those build before that time, work as usual...
    I have tried making interactions in a new site - and there everything works fine.
    Have I maybe accidentally changed some site properties? ...is it a bug? ...or?

    Does anyone know this problem?
    I have had it for three days now, and it keeps expanding to other pages as well... At the moment I'm almost giving up on muse. There is not really any point in spending time on Muse, if I can't make my site interactive anyway...
    I would appreciate any quick help

  • Back Button for export to SWF

    Hi, I am working on some interactive wire frames using indesgn. It's actually a test to convince my boss that indesign can handle this type of project. It was all going well until I tried to implement a back (previous) button.
    I am exporting the file to SWF as this option seems to give the best options for navigation. I have tried to use the built in 'previous' button but this just seems to take me back one page - e.g. if I navigate from page 1 to page 10 and then hit the previous button it takes me to page 9 and not page 1.
    Can anyone help. Or explain why this can be achieved if you export to PDF but not to SWF.  Thanks in advance.

    I would say that is the farthest thing from a description for why dynamic loading is done in Flash that I could think of.  While the amount of code that a file has to process can be a performance burden for a file to get started, in the end the code has to live in the swf file that you create so there is no opportunity to dynamically load the code.
    Dynamic loading involves keeping out the heavy content such as sound, video, and large image files until they are required for use in a file.  If you have alot of images that are being used, then it is better to have them loaded in dynamically when the file is running rather than having them built into the file.
    I can't really think of a time when dynamic loading is not the better way to go regardless if it involves a web-based implementation or not.  But for the web, your enemy is time/user-patience... any time some user has to twiddle their thumbs waiting for a file to load is time they are more likely to spend going elsewhere to find what they seek.

    I’m trying to move three custom text clips to different locations on the screen & change the text size. The text clips drift around between two key frames with the same values. (“linear” is set on the red wire frame movement indicator) I know you can stop the drift by going to the first key frame, move forward one frame, add a key frame, wait for the rendering to complete then delete the key frame, then move to the next key frame, go back one frame, add a key frame, wait for the rendering to complete then delete the key frame. All this takes a considerable time. Does anyone know when Apple plan to fix this Key Frame bug? Or an easier way to stop the drift between key frames?

    Yep, I hope KFs get a little bit of love in the next update too.
    To make my KFs linear, I always do the move, then drop a dummy keyframe inbetween them and add/delete that KF until the Motion path stops showing a change. Linear interpolation will follow!
