Interactivity in DPS

I created an interactive page using the button and object states panels.  It works in the object states preview and the buttons preview but it does not work in the content viewer.  It also didn't work in the folio.  Any advice?

So the buttons and object states don't work with DPS?   I created 2 object
states and creeated a button to control them.  Works great in preview but
not in content viewer.  Is there another way I should be doing this to
make it work in DPS?  I've been through the tutorials and the training on
Lynda.com and I still can't make it work.  Very frustrating.

  • Comment creer un PDF interactif sur dps

    Bonjour,

    Cordialement.

  • Can you create an app using Adobe DPS, then pass the Folio to a programmer to add interactivity?

    I'd like to know if I can create an app using Adobe DPS, then pass the folio to a programmer to add advanced interactivity that DPS doesn't provide. I would like the programmer to use either XCode or Android SDK because it is a standard, but they can also use C#, JavaScript, and several other coding languages. The folio would serve the purpose of a tight digital comp for the programmer.

    Thanks for your help Bob! I found this article on the Adobe site. Figured I'd share it. http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/import-html-articles.html

  • How can I disable zoom and navigator bar in the interactivity?

    Hello,
    I'm working at a project about I add a interactivity into DPS. First, I create a basic struture code in HTML5 and after I add it to a layer into DPS. Well, It work perfectly, but, two problems appear:
    The navigator bar appear when I touch interactivity layer.
    I can zoom it even I deny it with user-scalable set as "no".
    How can I fix it? I really appreciate some help
    The code I use is:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
        <head>
            <title>Test</title>
            <meta charset="utf-8">
            <meta content='width=device-width, minimum-scale=1.0, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no' name='viewport' />
            <style>
                #container{
                    width: 100%;
                    height: 100%;
                    background: url('imgs/bg.jpg') repeat;
            </style>
        </head>
        <body>
            <div id="container"></div>
        </body>
    </html>

    Oh, thanks again.
    Yep... It really work, but, I've a game and I set a container with touch gestures (start, move and end) to deny zoom and pop up navigator bar (container { width: 768px; height: 924px; } ), and now the user can't leave the page by touch/dragging on the div, and then for my buttons (to play containerButtons{width: 768px; height: 100px;} ), I need to set touchmove event to it doesn't pop up navigator bar (and again the user can't leave the page). Again I don't think it the best idea :/...

  • Showing DPS functionality with HTML file?

    Hello,
    I am mocking up a website using InDesign, and I have indicated the interactivity using DPS (buttons, scrolls, MSOs, etc). I'm wondering if there's a way I can export an HTML file that will show all the functionality? If not HTML, is there another file format that I could save, that is not a .folio? I want to be able to email a file to people who do not have InDesign or the Adobe Content Viewer.

    No to both. If you want to preview this content with someone they need to install Adobe Content Viewer and then you can share the folio with them for review.

  • Use DPS to create selling tools

    Hi!
    Our agency just created our first digital magazine using DPS and we think it worked well. Now we want to know if we can use DPS to create selling tools for our clients? Creating the selling tool is no problem but we down know how to distribute them to our client? Is it possible? If not we would probably choose to just use html and a browser instead. But that would be a shame when DPS is a great tool and i think there are many agencies out there wanting to create selling tools for their clients.
    Kind regards //Viktor Ekelund

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

    Bob, do you know if a solution will be out this year? We are currently discussing if we should teach more employees the basics in DPS. But if there isnt a solution for distributing applications directly to our clients I think we will go for PDF and HTML.
    I don´t think that there is a big future for DPS when it comes to creating magazines. The market is small and it is getting colder. But i know for a fact that alot of clients ask for selling tools for the iPad. And I think the situation is the same for alot of agencies all over the world.
    //Viktor
    Exactly right about magazines.  Goodness.  It's a totally dying industry that most likely isn't going to be saved via DPS, lol.  In fact, would love any evidence at all of subscription/profit increase due to digital versions of content.

    http://www.wwd.com/media-news/fashion-memopad/memo-pad-magazines-not-that-app-y-3409693
    Now, startup/local magazines and newspapers?  Different story.  However, we'll never know because of the *relatively* high cost of the Adobe DPS service for organizations that are barely surviving as it is...
    Which.....of course.....leads us right back to a market that absolutely would explode if Adobe cared enough to serve it:  Private corporations and their PLETHORA of in-house sales/promo material.
    Fact: Our company has, as it's clients, more than half of the Fortune 500 corporations.  Every single one of them is making commitments to radically reducing their own paper usage, and pushing hard for digital solutions and content.  It's gotten to the point when many of them are insisting that we submit our own documents and proposals electronically and not printed.
    Fact:  The increase in iPad usage with nearly ALL of our clients has exploded.  6 months ago enterprise IT groups across the globe balked at the notion of bringing iPads into their environments.  Our own IT group laughed at the notion, and then quickly followed up with (but we've got our eye on Android tablets.  Much better!)  lol.  Oh, how the tide has shifted.  Now when we meet with clients and/or visit their spaces, there are iPads everywhere.  Our company is rapidly adopting them as well.  Androids?  No where to be found.  I've not seen 1 enterprise client with any significant Android rollout.
    Fact: Businesses, while adopting iPads at an ever growing level, are STRUGGLING to find the right content delivery system.  PDFs are, by far, the most popular delivery platform for in-house material.  But even the interactive PDFs don't feature the full, rich interactivity of DPS content.
    I know I'm constantly beating this dead horse, but I don't care.  I love Adobe.  I want them to succeed.   I'm simply going to keep ******** about this until they recognize that they are missing out on a massive market.  Until then, at least I've got my interactive PDFs.

  • Mix native iOS development with Adobe DPS created iPad apps

    Is it possible to mix programmtic elements into an app developed with the Adobe DPS tools?
    Although one can hook up buttons and gestures for slide shows, as I've seen in some of the videos, I need to build a hybrid app where a section of the app hands control over to a native IOS built set of components.
    I'm coming from the iOS development side of things, so I know little of the capabilities of a client's InDesign and DPS toolset, except that I haven't found resources to do anything beyond simple interactions within DPS.

    No, you can't include native iOS components in a DPS publication. For extensibility people tend to write HTML5 content and include that in a web overlay.

  • Creating interactive quizzes for use in InDesign CS6 DPS ebooks

    Hi
    Are there any Adobe products that I can use to create interactive quizzes that I can just drop into InDesign when producing ebook apps using the DPS. We’ve tried creating the quizzes in Adobe Presenter and Captivate, but couldn’t get the output to work in InDesign.
    Ideally, I'm looking for a quiz generator that has a choice of question types and a input interface to enter the question details, much like that found in Adobe Presenter.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.
    Thanks

    Neil,
    I'm not a Captivate user but I downloaded the trial version, built a simple quiz and published it as per James’s instructions.  I unchecked the box so that the timeline isn’t shown during the quiz.  Since I’m not really familiar with Captivate, this might seem like a stupid question. Is there a way of not showing the initial screen with the play button and timeline at the bottom, so that the user would just see the first slide of the quiz in the publication?  I also see the timeline on the Results slide.  Can I turn that off?  Or should I be posting this question on the Captivate forum?!
    Thanks,
    John

  • Can Adobe Flash interactive animations be embedded into DPS indesign?

    Hi...
    I want to find out if i can create my flash interactive animation into an offline application through DPS indesign? Is it possible to embed the flash file in indesign?
    Thanks

    No.

  • Interactive SWF inside DPS

    Hello everyone
    is it possible to add SWF files inside InDesign CS6 so user can view and interact with the SWF.
    thanks in advance

    No.
    SWF files are not supported in DPS or iOS. (I don't think Jelly Bean has the flash player pre-installed now either, correct me if I'm wrong please)
    You should start to look at Edge Animate for your animation etc, or there other HTML animation applications too.
    cheers

  • Possible to attach an Interactive pdf to DPS ? ( & Keep the interactivity alive )

    Hi,
    Is it possible to open an interactive pdf from an DPS app and keep the interactive alive
    ( buttons /textboxses /submit / send to email ) ?
    I know how to make an zip-folder and link to the document form a button ( HTMLResources/filename.pdf )
    But the pdf is flatten , and the document is useless for my purpose.
    It would be great if this worked, and Adobe DPS could be even more handy than it is to day
    I know it's also possible to import html to indesign, and I have tried to make a form in Dreamwaver.
    The form looks nice on the Ipad & the buttons/ text fields works. But when I press submit ( mailto url )  the email opens.. But no data follows.
    ( Might be something wrong with the form of course )
    If I could link to Adobe Reader ( where the document already exist ) from the DPS-app.. that could be an solution/ and the interactivity works in Reader..
    But I haven't found any way to do that.
    My wish for the DPS of the future is that it would be more like MUSE. More options/ menus and no coding
    If someone have any good ideas on this issue, please let me know.

    Hi, after my first post in this issue I have solved the problem my self.
    The answer is to use Dreamweaver.
    1. Create an form with all the information you need in Dreamweaver. Be aware of the pixel value of the form, should not be larger than the Ipad
    Import the HTML into Indesign (Object /import HTML )
    If the form is larger than the Ipad - You can resize the imported html "frame" and use scale to fit in the web content menu.
    But in this way you don't have 100 % control of what your doing.
    After you imported the code in Indesign, and used the settings you like in web Content ( Folio Overlays ) Upload the DPS article as usual.
    2. Another way is to create an HTML article, where you import a folder with all files the form consist of ( Pictures, CSS and the HTML form  )
    A lot more you can do in this way like dropdown menues, fading images ++ . But is a bit more complicated workflow. So go for nr. 1

  • Sharing interactive content without using DPS

    Hi, I would like to share content I've produced in InDD CS5.5 including interactive content (Pan & Zoom, slideshow etc.) with colleagues within my company.
    Do I need to go through the full DPS procedure or is there a simpler way? If I do need to go the DPS route, how do I ensure my content remains confidential and viewable within my company only?
    Many thanks for your help.

    The Adobe DPS process has been streamlined with the new creative cloud service. http://www.adobe.com/au/products/creativecloud.html
    This also depends on what you are wanting to do with the content as you also require enrollment as an iOS developer ($99 per year)
    If you already registered as iOS developer, follow these instruction to add UDID of your devices and activate it as registered devices.
    Login to iOS Dev Center http://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action
    Click iOS Provisioning Portal on the right menu.
    Click Devices on the left menu and you will see Current Registered Devices.
    Click Add Devices button on the right side.
    There are two fields called “Device Name” and “Device ID“.Fill the device name to recognize where the UDID belong to, and fill the Device ID with UDID you have copied from iTunes (by clicking serial number on device summary).
    Click the “+” button to add the UDID and another form will show up to registered anotherdevice. If you don’t need to add another device, click Submit button on the bottom to save changes.
    You are done.

  • DPS Interaction with iPad features such as Contacts and Maps

    Hi all. Curious if anyone has had any success getting a DPS publication to interact with Contacts or Maps on the iPad?
    I am in a situation where I would like my publication to allow users to click to add a contact to contacts or touch an address to have maps locate it. Has anyone had any success getting these features to work and if so, how did you acomplish it. Thanks in advance for any tips/help of this.

    Maps works fine. Do a search. I don't think Contacts work.

  • DPS vs. Interactive PDF

    What features does DPS support as far as interactivity that an Interactive PDF does not support?

    Has anybody got a difinite list of pro's and con's that I can present to a client/my bosses to convince them that DPS (Content Viewer) is a much better option with more interactivity than PDFs?
    The only real benefit I can think of with PDFs is that they can be displayed on a number of different mediums, including on PCs and Mac's, and more easily distributed.
    Thanks

  • Use and possibilities of inCopy and inDesign CC in interactive DPS layers

    Hi,
    We like to give our editors access via inCopy in our inDesign DPS files.
    As I understand; text, like images is displayed in the Links panel.
    Is it already possible to have inCopy CC assigned text in the interactive DPS layers?
    All help welcome!

    I was able to use InCopy with a text frame that was incorporated into a scrolling frame overlay, but it seemed a bit "wonky" with formatting. (Formatting was lost between InCopy edit and InDesign.) My guess is that it should work in an MSO as well, but I didn't have time to test that theory.
    You can download a 30-trial of InCopy, if you want to run your own tests.
