Intercepting all http traffic and forwarding to VIP on CSM?

We would like to intercept all http traffic from clients from all vlans and redirect them to a VIP on the CSM for loadbalancing to 2 proxy servers. Is this possible? I can't seem to find a solution similar to our issue? Please help thanks!

Thx Giles! Do you mean a policy that uses route-maps with next-hop? So would I point the next-hop address to the CSM client vlan IP? Do you have a support link that covers this in detail? Thx!

  • RV042G V3 protocol bind all HTTPS traffic to wan1

If you are using load balancing how do you bind i.e. all HTTPS traffic to i.e. wan1. RV042G V2 you can inter 0.0.0.0~0.0.0.0 as Source IP to forward from all IPs, how do you do that with a V3?

    Dear Hans,
Thank you for reaching Cisco Small Business Support Community.
    The improvements on the Cisco RV042G v3 have basically been hardware related, better processor and more memory pretty much, but since the firmware release has also changed, here I add the link for the admin guide where on page 81 you can follow the "Managing the Bandwidth settings" section;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/csbr/rv0xx/administration/guide/rv0xx_AG_78-19576.pdf
Please let me know if this answers your question and/or if there is any further assistance I may help you with.

  • Using a proxy for http requests and forward

Hi. My company won't allow access to mail.yahoo.com and www.hotmail.com. However, I can get to my own web server on my Cable Modem at home. Can I use the proxy to accept the http connections and forward them to hotmail ...will this work? If not any other solutions?

Yes, that would work if you configure it as a reverse proxy.
IMHO proxy would be overhead for this. There's many freeware out this which is exactly designed for that, see

  • Redirecting all HTTP traffic to HTTPS that will reverse proxy specific URI

    -- Requirement --
I have a Sun web server 6.1 SP4 that sits in a DMZ that must securely reverse proxy traffic to an internal application server listening on 443.
The web server instance has two listen sockets, 80 and 443.
The web server instance must accept traffic on port 80 but re-direct it to 443 so all subsequent traffic with the client happens over HTTPS.
HTTPS traffic for "www.mydomain.com/myapp/" must be reverse proxied to the internal app server, "https://myapp.mydomain.com/myapp/".
    -- Current set-up --
The server reverse proxies both HTTP and HTTPS traffic with the indicated URI.
How can I constrain the reverse proxying to HTTPS traffic?
    Thanks for your help,
    Jez

    Thanks Chris that worked perfectly.
    Aside
Before your solution I had (unsuccessfully) tried the following obj.conf directive
    <Client security="false">
    NameTrans fn="redirect" from="/" url-prefix="https://www.mydomain.com/"
</Client>However, it didn't work - is it not possible to use the <Client security="false"> in this manner?

  • Block all incoming traffic and Active FTP

Will setting the firewall to Block all incoming traffic break Active FTP Connections?
The firewall will normally dynamically create exceptions for the Connection using the Application Layer Gateway, but will the profile override these?

    Hi TribleTrouble,
Do you have any issue about FTP active mode?
If the clients are part of your domain, push the FTP firewall rules via GPO to your clients allowing FTP inbound sockets
    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="File Transfer Program" protocol=TCP profile=domain Program=C:\Windows\System32\ftp.exe dir=in action=allow
    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="File Transfer Program" protocol=UDP profile=domain Program=C:\Windows\System32\ftp.exe dir=in action=allow
For Windows 7, the entire networking stack was rewritten and several security measures were taken to further secure Windows.

  • RV042G redirects all https traffic to NAS

    Hi
I've installed a rv042G, disabled dhcp, opened port 3389 (wan to lan), one port formwarding rule to terminal server.
Now 48 hours later, when i try to login to the router, (https), I'm automatticaly redirect to the https site of the NAS (iomega ix-200).
The nas is connected to a cisco sg100-24, which is connected to lan 1 on the router.
    What is going wrong ?

    Good morning
    Hi Stef, thanks for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan and I am part of the Small business Support community. You can go to the Web interface in your router and go to Firewall > General and enable the remote management option, you can also specify the port, it could be 80 or 443. Remember if you can specify a port different than 80, you have to type it after the ip address, like this;
1.2.3.4 → your public ip address.
8080  → your remote management port.
1.2.3.4:8080  → Your ip in your browser
I hope you find this answer useful,

  • Http Traffic Slow/Broken, ping fine

    Hello,
I am writing because as of this morning all http traffic on my network has went to a snails pace.  However, pings of all types work at normal speed, but fail approximately 5% of the time(Independent of pinging internal address or external).
I have a very basic setup, i do not really have any custom configures on anything. The only wifi authentication at the moment is WPA2-PSK.  I have this network set up as a test bed for a new setup, its a good thing too because it is unusuable in its current state.
    Network Setup:
3 3502i AP - Setup in Hreap mode - Connected to PoE Switch
    1 2106 WLAN Controller - Connected to 2960
    2960s Switch
    Dell Layer 2 PoE Switch
    Thanks!
    Seth

Since you are using HREAP, I'd sniff the AP port.  Make sure the traffic is flowing in both direcitons there before going further.  You should also make sure to prune the VLAN that are not needed on the AP.
Also, make sure your ports are full duplex and not at half.

  • All HTTPS blocked at office. Anyone know iTunes Sign-In IP address??

We have a Netgear FVX538 router and all HTTPS traffic is blocked. I can open a hole in the firewall if I know a specific IP address for the secure site I want to allow access to.... however, iTunes Sign-In happens inside iTunes so I can't tell what address it's using.
How can I find out what IP address to allow HTTPS access to?
    Thanks

There is no single IP address; the iTunes Store uses Akamai's distributed server network which may use any one of a number of different servers. If your firewall allows exceptions by domain, though, try exempting these:
    phobos.apple.com
    phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
    Hope this helps.

  • Parental controls blocks all https websites

When I enabled parental controls for my 9-year old, I didn't expect her not to be able to use Google, Gmail and just about every single other website that requires logging in. The reason? Those websites are all https websites and parental controls blocks *ALL* https websites.
With https becoming more and more prevalent on the web, adding an exception is not really an option anymore. I don't want to add an exception for half of the internet. It's gotten so bad that she's encountering a popup several times per minute when just doing a little research for her homework. Web filtering is apparently a whilelist only solution, suitable only for the smallest of children - the ones that you sit next to because they can't type a web address themselves, 5 years or younger.
The only solution I could find was to turn off web filtering completely and use OpenDNS instead. Does anyone else know of a better solution?

  • Ironport not forwarding HTTPS traffic

We have recently been trying to setup a BYOD wireless network and the wireless Clients that join this network have their traffic routed directly to an Ironport S370 (Ver7.1.4-053) as we do not want the BYOD users to have to configure their proxy settings.
We have created an Identity which matches the Subnet given to BYOD devices with no authentication and then an Access Policy for filtering, all this works as long as the traffic is HTTP, as soon as you try to access anything using HTTPS then the Ironport seems to drop the traffic as it never hits the firewall and the page cannot be displayed.
Any domained clients which have the Ironport address as their proxy work fine.
The Ironport is not set to bypass any addresses in bypass settings.
I am sure there must be a simple answer as to why HTTPS traffic is not being forwarded and any pointers as to why this is would be gretly appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Neil.

    Hi Igor and Neil,
As per AsyncOS 7.5 documentation, HTTPS proxy needs to be enabled to process HTTPS traffic in transparent mode.
following is the extract from the doco.
" When the Web Proxy is configured in transparent mode, you must enable the HTTPS Proxy if the appliance receives HTTPS traffic. When the HTTPS Proxy is disabled, the Web Proxy passes through explicit HTTPS connections and it drops transparently redirected HTTPS requests. The access logs contain the CONNECT requests for explicit HTTPS connections, but no entries exist for dropped transparently redirected HTTPS requests "
If you do not want to decrypt HTTPS traffic, you can enable HTTPS proxy in pass-through mode.
    Thanks,
    Wipula.

  • The back and forward arrows are greyed out all the time - How can I fix this?

I am currently using firefox ver 21. However the forward and back buttons are greyed out and will not work. I would be happy to re-install the program but how do I re-install without losing all my bookmarks and settings.
    Please advise.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • Internet Connection sharing and HTTP traffic

    Hello anyone,
I have a late 2009 iMac and a late 2008 MacBook Air. I connect to the internet via a ADSL PPPoE modem, which is connected to the iMac via ethernet. I've set up the iMac to share the ADSL connection via AirPort to the MacBook Air, with WEP protection (it's either WEP or no protection at all, so I have to stick with it). Before the OS X Lion upgrade, everything worked fine (the iMac used Snow Leopard and the MacBook used Leopard). Now I have upgraded both comptuers to Lion: the iMac works flawlessly, but the MacBook Air is unable to get HTTP traffic from the iMac. IMAP, Skype, ICMP, XMPP and other protocols works fine but HTTP has some problems. First of all, I can get some web pages (either via a browser or curl), like Google and Google-owned sites (YouTube, Orkut, Blogger...), Macworld.com and some Italian sites, but if I try other sites, all I get is the browser to load something forever. If I ping these sites, they reply normally. If I try to get (for instance), Yahoo's homepage with curl all I get is a blank file (and curl shows that 0 bytes were transmitted/recieved). This problem is shown with every device I use via Wi-Fi, such as iPod touch, iPhone and another MacBook (with Snow Leopard on).
So I guess there's some problem in iMac's Conncetion Sharing... has anyone a suggestion?
    Thanks
    Simone

I no nothing about Windows. Nothing.
    But to configure your Mac to share an ehternet to wi-fi connect follow these steps;
My Mac mini is connected to the internet by Ethernet cable to my ISP's Arris gateway. I am sharing the Ethernet connection to two iPod Touches, an iPhone and now an iPad 2 over AirPort from my Mac mini.
    1. In Sys Prefs/Sharing I highlighted Internet Sharing (do not check the box)
    2. Share your connection from: Ethernet (from the dropdown menu)
    3. To computers using: AirPort (check the little box)
    4. Press the button AirPort Options...
    5. Name your Network
    6. I use Automatic for the channel
    7. I encrypt my network using a 40-bit WEP key
    8. For a non-Apple device, like a Windows laptop or an XBox, you must use only a 5 alphanumeric character, 40-bit WEP password or only a 13 alphanumeric character, 128-bit WEP password
    9. Press OK
    10. Check the box for Internet Sharing
    11. Answer any dialog boxes that pop up

Well I figured out my problem lol
Email a- original apple id email
    Email b- original gamecenter id
Email c- the new gamecenter id
Email d- the temporary email for switching stuff
So originally I had Email a for apple id and icloud, and Email b for gamecenter. I wanted my gamecenter and apple id to be the same. Well today I went on my moms phone and saw that I was still on family sharing under Email d. That's when it hit me, your gamecenter, apple id, and icloud are the same account. By switching my gamecenter id to Email a, I turned that into my new apple id. Now my apple id is back to normal, and my gamecenter is Email c (I don't use Email b anymore so that's why I wanted to switch it).
Basically, my problem was being stupid enough not to think that your gamecenter was connected to your apple id. My problem came from switching my gamecenter email. So that's how to avoid this, don't be an idiot and think your gamecenter is a whole different account. For anyone who ever has this problem, that's why it happened haha.

  • Navigation "Back" and "Forward" buttons are inactive, they do not work at all. How do I fix this?

I have downloaded the latest version of firefox and the navigation buttons in the browser will not work in any way. The "Back" and "Forward" buttons are completely un-usable.

Toolbar misbehavior could be due to a problematic add-on (e.g., theme or extension), or a corrupted settings file. Next time you upgrade -- and for security reasons, it is highly recommended -- try Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether you can pin it on an add-on or custom setting. You also could clear your toolbar settings.
    More info on Safe Mode:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode] using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."
    Does the toolbar work correctly?

  • Firefox 8 and 9beta. Back and Forward buttons greyed out. Right click menu also has forward and back greyed out. Updated all plugins, then disabled all plugins and extensions and started in safe mode. No change.

My forward and back buttons are greyed out after update to Firefox 8. Tried to move to 9 beta, but same behavior. Back and Forward also greyed out in right click menu.
Attempted to fix by updating all plugins and extensions, then disabled all plugins and extensions, and then tried to start in safe mode. Nothing worked.

You could have backed up your profile folder. If you did, [[Recovering important data from an old profile]] can help :)
