Intercompany sales impact in COPA

Hi,
When intercompany sales happens, then sales value of affliated company should be taken as the cost of ordering company in COPA. Affliated company means company which is billing to another company under same group. Ordering company means the company which is selling the material to external customer. Standard functinality of SAP is available for that but i am unable to get the correct result.
Scenarios is like-
There are two companies X and Y.  X gets a order from customer. But X has no stock. Y has that stock. One sales order is created in X , for which stock will be delivered from Y.
Mat=M001
Selling price of X to customer=100
Internal selling price of Y to X=90
Cost Price of mat M001 in Y=70
At the time of billing by X to customer what values should be considered in COPA?
It should be:-
Sales value=100
Cost=90
But in COPA cost considered is 70.
Please Note that in FI, all accounting entries related to this process are correct.
Can any body help me....what is to be done in COPA and what is to be done in SD?
mukesh

Dear Ronny,
Entry is OK. In my question also I mentioned that entry should be like that only.
We have condition type & Value field like below
ZMLP(base Price)-VV002
PI02(ERL)-VV004
ZI02(ERS)-VV031.this is copy of PI02 with Acct key ERS
VPRS-VV009
I conigured system to reset ZMLP and ZI02 at the time of Intercompany billing. Here Y has sold material to X. X and Y are companies under same group. So we want ICS value as Sale value of Y and VPRS as a cost. Everything coming ok, but in COPA document,PI02 as a revenue not picked up. Another probm is that VPRS cost figure is not biurcated into fixed and variable.
There are two type of billing.......customer billing F2 and  IC billing IV. Selling price of Y should be the variable cost of X . But since Y is the manuacturer .....cost of material in X should be biurcated into Fixed and Variable.
Please help

  • Missing COPA in intercompany sales

    Hi,
We are unable to get COPA documents posted for our intercompany sales.
Please find details in the attachment, for your kind reference.
Once we simulate the billing document in Transaction KE4ST for
simulated the billing document. Its giving the error message
as” Document "9827798" is not profit-related and thus could not be
    transferred"
I request You pls help us by suggestion/notes for resolving this
error. Your valuable help are highly appreciated.
    Regards
    John

In order to create this in a billing document you'll need customers for intercompany. You should have your conditions going to a revnue account  and not a balance sheet account for this to post to COPA. You can also use PCA transfer pricing which is specifically for intercompany sales type transactions.
pls assign points to say thanks.

  • Impact on COPA after redefining Sales territory

My company is redifining it's sales territory, what would be the impact on COPA if new sales terriotory hierarchy level is changed?

    Hi Arbinda,
Redefining  sales teritory means redefination of the related COPA structure as well. You may have to create new value fields and charachteristic and Papartners for the new sales teritory. If you want to update the historical data with the new changes you can reallign the data in KEND. This will update the historical data in COPA. Also you may have to repost your sales order and billing documents.

  • Impacts in COPA of changing material and customer master data

    Dear experts,
In my company we are considering following scenario:
Currently mySAPerp 6.0 is implemented for all modules for the mother company.
We have developed a new global template where there are significant changes versus the existing system, especially in the SD processes. Material and customer master also change significantly in terms of content in the tables/fields and/or values in the fields.
The idea was to build the template from scratch in a new machine and roll-out all group affiliates, but now we are considering the possibility of making an evolutionary of the current system and try to stretch it to the processes defined in the global template.
The scenario we want to analyze is: Keeping same organizational structure in terms of Company code, CO area and Operating Concern in existing SAP client and make an evolutionary of the existing settings to the global template processes.
The doubts we are having are the following:
Changing material & customer master data: Impact in COPA
Option 1: Material master data and customer master data codes are maintained but content in the tables/fields is changed substantially, both in terms of logical content of specific fields and/or the values in the specific fields. We have following examples of changes.
Case 1: source field in material master changes logical content. E.g. Material master field MVGR1 is currently used for product series (design line) and the content changes to be the Market Segment. The product series will be moved to a classification field. At least 5 other fields are affected by this. How can data in terms of COPA line items be converted so that they are aligned at time of reporting?
Case 2: the source field is not changed so that the logical content of the field remains but the values change, i.e. for the same concept there will be different codifications. How can data in terms of COPA line items be converted so that they are aligned at time of reporting?
Case 3: Characteristics where currently the source material master field is a Z field and the derivation is via table look up and where the Z field changes to a classification field. How can you convert the existing COPA line items to ensure that attributes are aligned? Should new characteristics be created or just change the derivation logic of the characteristic?
Option 2: Material master data and customer data codes are re-created (codification of records is changed), meaning that new material and customer codes will exist and content in tables/fields is changed (as in option 1)
Case: material and customer codes are changed. How can data in terms of COPA line items be converted so that they are aligned at time of reporting?
Iu2019ve never phased a similar scenario and I fear that maintaining operating concern while changing source master data and also SD flows (we have new billing types, item categories, sales doc. Types, order reasons) may lead to inconsistencies and problems in COPA.
I would like to ask you experts if you have come across a similar scenario and if from your experience, it is something feasible to do or there are many risks involved. What can be the impact of this scenario in existing Operating Concern for both option 1 and 2 and what would be the key activities to perform to adapt the existing operating concern. What will be the impact of the needed conversions on P&L reporting?
Sorry for the long story. I hope you can help me out.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Eric

    Hi,
First i think you will need to test if it works for new COPA documents created via billing.
If it works fine then the issue is if you wish to apply these changes to the historical data already posted.
Normally there are transactions like KE4S where you can repost the billing document to COPA
However this may not be viable for bulk postings
You can perform realignment (KEND) but this only works at the PA segment level (table CE4XXXX)

  • How to avoid special stock indicator for intercompany sales transitions.

    Hi Friends
I have an issue Intercompany sales .if I  enter intercompany plant(Delivering plant) in the sales order system is taking special stock indicator and looking for sales order stock.
If I enter company code plant for sales from unrestricted stock, system is not taking special stock indicator.
Please advice how to avoid special stock indicator for intercompany sales transitions.
    Thanks in advance.
    SRK

    Ravi,
Special stock is generally determined by the MRP strategy group in the material master of the plant against which you place your order.  The strateg(ies) contained in the strategy group will determine the SO requirements type, which will in turn determine whether or not the order is 'account assigned' (special stock).
It is normal to only have one strategy contained in a strategy group.  However (and I seldom recommend this) SAP will support multiple strategies within one strategy group.  In this case, you could have both MTS and MTO orders against the same plant/material, by manually altering the requirements type in the sales order.  This scenario is usually difficult for a planner, and involves additional manual attention to make everything work.
I suggest that your first avenue is to change the Strategy group in the material master of the delivering plant to one that supports MTS.  This has a big impact in Controlling and in Production Planning, so ensure that all affected functional groups are aware of what you are doing, and of the resulting changes that they will experience.  The transition from MTO to MTS must be carefully controlled.
If you are not a PP expert, I suggest you consult with your local PP expert before embarking on this change.

  • Intercompany sales without the EDI piece?

    Hi all,
I am looking into setting up and intercompany sales process for my client.  It is a straightforward process whereby product will be sold out of one company code (A), and delivered out of a plant that is in another company code (B).  I have already configured the intercompany invoice to be created from the company code B vendor to the selling company code, A, and this is working great.  My question is... do I need to configure the EDI piece to create the invoice receipt within company code A?  I seem to remember at a previous client that we did intercompany sales without this piece, but I wasn't close enough to it to remember the details.  Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Barry,
If you guys are using EDI for acknowledging the reciepts of STO, sending ASN's etc. then I would say to set up the EDI for the invoice as well, if not forget about it.
It  should not impact your outcome.
We do not use EDI for the Intercompany operations.
    Mostly Confirmations through Email.
    Thanks

  • Transfer of Intercompany sales orders using LSMW

    Hi
I have to Transfer the open intercompany sales orders using LSMW. Consider a scenario where customer places an order on sales org A with plant A. sales org A raises purchase order on Sales org B with plant B. The material moves from Plant B ie supplying plant to delivering plant A. THen it is delivered to custome from plant A. Can u please tell me whether i have to pass the suppying plant or it will be determined automatically. Similarly what about the purchase requisition no. Is it created automatically.
    Thanks
    regards
    Tushar

    Hi,
The purchase requisition is going to automatically created incase of a intercompany order  (ie nothing but the third party order).  In this case of orders the line item category in the sales order would be TAS. The intercompany sales order nothing different from a normal order during the creation of the order, after that the operations will be different from the normal standard order.  You can use the same LSMW which you have used for transfering normal standard orders.
The configs are going to be different in the system for intercompany sales orders compared to the standard sales orders. That is the problem of the functional consultant to take care.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh.

  • Credit Memo Request for intercompany sales process

    Hi Experts
I try to find SAP notes regardsing the credit memo request for intercompany related issue but I can
not find any nates. The customer return the goods with 2 different
    scenario :-
    -Return with credit
    -Return with replacement.
Can anybody explain how this 2 scenario perform in the SAP
intercompany sales process. Appreciate for your help. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jennie Tan

    Already answered
Enter IG (internal credit memo) as the billing type for intercompany
    billing for order type RE.
    Cust-Sales/distrib-Transactions-Billing-Intercompany billing-Order types
Intercompany billing always refers to a delivery
    Processing flow will be:
    1. Create returns request invoice receipt (with or w/out reference)
    2. Create returns delivery and goods receipt
    3. Create credit memo invoice receipt for customer for 1.
    4. Create internal credit memo for 2.
Therefore you must make the following entries in the document flow
    for billing documents:
      Target BillType        DlvType              ItemCat
    a)    IG                  LR
    b)    IG                  LR                    REN
    Parameters for entries:
    For a) Copying requirement:  14  Dlv.-rel.header IV
Copy item no.: x  (Check and decide yourself)
    For b)Copying requirement: 15 Dlv.rel. item IV
          Data VBRK/VBRP      : 1  Inv.split (sample)
          Billing quantity    : B
          Qty/itm val.pos/neg : +
          Pricing type        : G
    Also, refer following SAP Notes

  • Cost of sales flow in COPA and its detailed breakdown cost component f

    Hi ,
we have a requirement that we need details about what makes cost of sales numbers in COPA.
i know the our VPRS value is flowing into COPA as COGS but now we want that we should have ite detailed breakdown as per cost components.
can you please tell me detailed configuration steps to make this happen so that we can create a new COPA ke30 report which gives us the breakdown of the COGS numbers.
one more requirement is that for purchase parts our client is maintaing price PB00 condition and some other conditions like brokerage, freight etc in the info record for those materials and they want that all these conditions value should add up to show the COGS value for these purchase parts in the COPA report.. how do we do that?
    please reply soon...
    Thanks in advance,
    Gurjit

    Hi Balaji
Which cost elements are you talking about? You can directly make FI postings to COPA in F-02 by clicking on "Prf Seg"
Note that a cost element will either be posted to COPA or Cost Center or Internal order or WBS element... Real posting happens only to one of these...
Out of these, some Cost Centers merge into COGM/COGS i.e. Std cost and this is reflected as COGS.... The variance is posted as variance in COPA
Some cost centers like Marketing which do not form part of COGM/COGS, can be allocated from CO to COPA using KEU5...
This is how the values flow to COPA

  • Cost of sales, SD and COPA

    Hi everybody
I'm using cost based COPA, and I would like generate the cost of sales posting to COPA from the material document of post goods issue. Does anyone know how to do this?
(I know that the usual way is to use price condition VPRS, but that generates some consistency problems between COPA and FI).
    Thanks in advance
    JPT

Thank you for your input Ram.
The thing is, I've configured OKB9 so that the COGS account would be filled in with the segment. The problem is that, even tough the segment is filled in the material document, there's no COPA document created. If I create a similar document directly in FI, it creates a COPA document.
I'm also thinking about an alternative solution:
    - When posting goods issue, I would post to a "unbilled goods issue" account;
    - In the invoice, I would create a new pricing condition that would take the VPRS value would post to the cost of sales account and would clear the "unbilled goods issue" account.
For this second solution I would need additional customizing, exits and pricing routines, but I think it would work. The first solution would be far more simple (basically I would have the same consistency as in account-based COPA, and the additional functionality of cost-based accounting).
If someone has any previous experiences or inputs on these ideas, they would be largely appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Sales Analysis in COPA

    Hi,
To my understanding data from fields Customer Groups 1-5 and Condition Group 1-5 get copied to sales orders and invoices for sales analysis.
My question is that does the data have to be copied into a sales order and invoice for SALES ANALYSIS or can it be done using different fields such as ATTRIBUTES 1-10 for SALES ANALYSIS in COPA.
    Thanks

What fields do you want to come up in the sales analysis report?
My question is that does the data have to be copied into a sales order and invoice for SALES ANALYSIS
Do you mean doing so in ECC..?

  • Intercompany Sales Incoming Invoice references

    Hi,
We have customized intercompany sales delivery related process.
We have completed SD steps successfully.
    1.       Sales Order Creation
( Sales Org. 0001 in comp Code 0001, are delivered to customer from plant LY02 in comp code 002)
    2.       Delivery
    3.       Customer billing document
    4.       Intercompany billing document
    5.       Auto Incoming Invoice creation with RD04 output type
Now, what I do not understand is purchasing process that company code 0002 should create Purchase order, statistical goods receipt and incoming invoice.
I have searched oss notes and forums they all talk about incoming invoice creation with RD04.
I also completed EDI steps successfully that are triggered after RD04.
But it is not working now because I don’t have PO document yet.
I have 3 questions about this process.
Is it possible to create PO automatically?
If it is not how can I create PO document manually with reference to intercompany sales order? so RD04 finds PO and posts incoming invoice.
when should I create PO?  (after creating sales order or delivery document).
Should we create statistical goods receipt document with PO reference ?
    Thanks…

I have not completed the process yet.
I need an advice who have achived this before.
As I said before I customized delivery related intercompany process.
All SD steps are working fine
I have one sales order, one delivery, one billing document in delivering company
I have one billing document in selling company.
Now, I need a PO and Incoming Invoice in sales company.
    how should I create PO?
which acc. assingment category should be assigned?
Should I set Goods Receipt Indicator?

  • Intercompany sales and stock transfer enhancement at billing level

    Dear Gurus ,
Business requirement is to process intercompany sales and stock transfer for both divisions PB & RB, but in standard SAP we can assign only one division in the configuration. So need development to determine division on the basis of material division and not from configuration.
What is the ehancement we  can use for the same ? To determine division from the material  master at the time of intercompany invoice .
Note : We are not using common division concept .....here.
    Looking for your inputs ....
    Thanks and regards

    HI Garima ,
    Plz check the following steps
    CONFIGURATION SETTINGS
Assign Delivery Plant of the supplying company code to Sales Org + Distribution channel of the Ordering company code in the Enterprise Structure.
DEFINE ORDER TYPES FOR INTERCOMPNY BILLING:
Menu path: IMG/ SD/Billing/Intercompany Billing/Define Order Types for Intercompany billing
    Assign Organizational units by Plant:
Menu Path: IMG/ SD/Billing/Intercompany Billing/Assign Organizational units by Plant.
Define Internal Customer Number By Sales Organization:
Menu Path: IMG/ SD / Billing/ Intercompany Billing/ Define Internal Customer Number By Sales Organization:
Creating / Showing Ordering Sales Organization as Internal Customer for Supplying Company code:
    Transaction Code: XD01
The ordering sales organization is represented as Internal customer of Supplying company code.
We need to create customer master in Account Group - Sold to Party and maintain minimum required financial & Sales Area data.
This internal customer number has to be assigned to the ordering sales organization. Hence, the system automatically picks up this Internal customer number whenever there is Intercompany billing.
In the  above mention configuration steps you are missing  the second step in your confirguration 1.e the reason  your  getting that error
