Interconnect Repository and Adapters going down frequently
Hi,
We are using 9iAs interconnect as messaging middleware between Oracle applications CRM and Main frames systems.
The 9iAs repository and adapters (DB and http) are going down frequently in Production environment.
Every time we had an issue of servers going down, we used to restart them.
Sometimes they are working fine after the first bounce; otherwise we are bouncing them again.
The behavior is very intermittent.
We need some suggestions on the following:
Is there any potential risk involved if we bounce the 9iAs interconnect repository and adapters daily?
Will there be any impact in the performance if we enable the log level to verbose for all the adapters? (As of now, the log level is set to log only errors)
Any help in this regard is much appreciated
Thanks,
Lahari
hi,

We have been experiencing issues with SSRS over the past 5 weeks, the service goes down frequently. And it comes up only on reboot of the server.
We had also disabled the On Access scan in Mcafee.
The service is in use for about two years, and the below error started occuring over the last few days. Please advise on this.

Based on your error message, it may be related to the “SecureConnectionLevel” in the RSReportServer.config file. Please go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer, use Notepad to open the RSReportServer.config,
modify <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="0"/>, change the value into "1" or "2".
(Note: Please backup the file before modify it.)
Acceptable values are:
3 Most secure—Use SSL for absolutely everything.
2 Secure—Use SSL for rendering and methods that pass credentials but don't insist on it for all SOAP calls.
1 Basic Security—Accepts http but rejects any calls that might be involved in the passing of credentials.
0 Least Secure—Don't use SSL at all

MS SQL server is going down frequently(10 days of gap) with exception message: "A severe error occurred
on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded". We are facing this issue for past two month. But funny thing is server will be up automatically with out any service restart manually. Also if we try to restart the SQL
server service manually then SQL server will be in a dead lock situation and it will not come up even if we wait for long time. Then we should do a windows server machine restart to
make the SQL sever up. As a suggestion from Microsoft to fix this kind of similar issue,
we have installed service pack 3 for SQL Server. But even after we are facing same issue.
Server Details:
Server OS: Windows Server 2008 R2
Two type of database servers are installed on server:
1. MS SQL Server 2008 R2
2. My SQL
Also Reporting server is configured for the purpose of generating SSRS report from a dot net website.
NOTE:Immediately after the data retrieval/save, we are closing the connection explicitly by the
application.
we have checked the windows event log and below are the details:

Could anybody can suggest any kind of fix for this issue? Thanks in advance.Hi YesYemPee,
I have tried but still not clear about your issue, I would like you provide more details information about your issue based on below points to better analysis about the issue:
What action did you do and caused the error "A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded", did you run report on the web application or something else then the error happen?
If you rendering the report and got the error, please try to provide us more error information in the log files which path like:

If it is not the case in step1, Please try to provide SQL Server Error log(SQL Server Logs) and more details information.
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

Any idea?? I spent 2 weeks checking all parameters of http.conf but I haven't results.
TIA
MarceloHi Roberto, this are some of the parameters on httpd.conf
Timeout 300
KeepAlive On
MaxKeepAliveRequests 100
KeepAliveTimeout 15
MinSpareServers 5
MaxSpareServers 20
StartServers 5
MaxClients 2500
MaxRequestsPerChild 0
Putting KeepAlive to "off" what consequence my be have?
Can you suggest me some tuning?
We have a large amount of users (600) and a lot of webservice invocation with large transactions (1 to 10 sec)

Listeners are going down frequently..
Hi,
I have two node cluster databases.in that cluster 5 databases are running. We have configuared 2 listeners for each database and registered in OCR.But frequently some listeners are going down or UNKNOWN state from first node only. everything is running fine from second node. How to troubleshoot this?

I have two node cluster databases.in that cluster 5 databases are running. We have configuared 2 listeners for each database and registered in OCR.As I understand, you are running 5 RAC databases on the same cluster (meaning 5 RAC instances per node), with each instance having 2 listeners, resulting in 10 listeners per node?
What on earth for? Why? What problem/issue are you trying to address that way?
But frequently some listeners are going down or UNKNOWN state from first node only. everything is running fine from second node. How to troubleshoot this? RAC is only as robust as
a) the architecture it is implemented on (server h/w, Interconnect, etc)
b) how well it adheres to Oracle concepts and fundamentals
5 RAC instances on the same 2 nodes, using 10 listeners per node? That is anything but adhering to Oracle fundamentals. More like total madness IMO.
Cannot recall ever having a listener (stand-alone or on any of our RACs) simply going down and not working as designed. So I doubt strongly that your are dealing with an Oracle issue here. Seems to be a case of an unnecessary self inflicted wound. -
Java stack of XI server is going down frequently.

Shanahas.KHi Sunny,
Where can I check default trace files when your Java is down ?
I have checked in /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0 folder. But the files which I have found are either very old(about a month) or the files are latest which are created after the system is restarted.(Java started working after we restarted the server)
Also, how to find out whether installed license in our As Java.

SOA managed derver is going down frequently
Hi,
We are facing one specific issue in SOA 11g environment .
SOA managed server is hosted on WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.4.0.
Server is keep on going down even after restart, after each restart it iwll come up for 15-20 minutes max and then again soa managed serve will go down.
Also in nohup logs we observed below warning :
oracle.adf.share.ADFContext> <BEA-000000>
+<Automatically initializing a DefaultContext for getCurrent.+
Caller should ensure that a DefaultContext is proper for this use.
Memory leaks and/or unexpected behaviour may occur if the automatic initialization is
performed improperly.
This message may be avoided by performing initADFContext before using getCurrent().
To see the stack trace for thread that is initializing this, set the logging level of
oracle.adf.share.ADFContext to FINEST>
Also some error messages like :

+<BEA-000000> <Could not find saved view state for token lb617ahaj>+
Could some once please let us know what could be reason for this .

RAC and instance goes down, transaction state?
I was talking to our physical DBAs, and they told me that when the RAC node you're connected to goes down:
1) if you're mid-query, your process gets transferred to another node
2) if you're not currently running a query, but you are in the middle of a transaction (ie no rollback or commit), that you lose the state of your transaction
I've seen 1) in action, but I haven't heard anything like 2). Is it true? They couldn't remember if they'd read it in the manuals, but they had heard it mentioned on more than 1 occasion during demonstrations.
-ChuckWhat version of Oracle?
What kind of Application?
For most of the history of OPS/RAC if you are connected to an instance in the middle of a transaction or not when the instance you are connected to dies you must reconnect. Only if an Oranet fail-over connection was configured could you successfully reconnet asking for the same instance, though you would actually be connected to one of the available instances.
Any work in process was rolled back by another node.
Only with the advent of automatic transaction failover, ATF, would work on the dieing instance transfer to another instance. This works only if the application is coded to perform this task and when it first came out only for Select statements.

Redo Collector Goes down frequently
Hi,
Once my Redo Collector has been started after some time it goes down. We tried many times and the Redo collector runns for some few seconds and goes down. Pleas suggest
Best regards,
Venkat.SHi Venkat S,
I have not seen where the REDO collector just dies. I see more cases where the archive log is moved and the REDO collector cannot proceed with capturing the before/after values.
The REDO collector is using Oracle Streams underneath the covers, so it could be related to a Steams issue. There has to be an error associated with the capture processing dying.
Thanks. -
OMS going down frequently!
Hi,
I have Oracle 11g database,WebLogic Server 10.3.2 and 11g grid installed on RHEL 64 bit system. For some reason OMS goes down every now and then. I am unable to find out why.
Any suggestions?
-OnkarHi Onkar,
As a first look, the exact module that is causing the crash can be identified from the emctl.msg file under ../gc_inst/em/EMGC_OMS1/sysman/log/* location.
Each Crash will be tracked in the above mentioned file. Then we need to verify the stack from EMGC_OMS*.out* files & emoms.trc files.
So i would suggest to log and SR, to get this analyzed. Let me know the SR# once logged.
Best Regards,
Venkat -
I've had one Airport Express G2 running smoothly for months and now trying to extend it with a second Express over LAN cables (ie join existing network). When doing this I get "Unexpected error occurred. Try again." error and then the working base station goes offline (wifi down).
I have tried various ways of going about this and sometimes managed to bring the second one online to try different configs. But it only stays online briefly before both devices go offline (up and down constantly).
Also tried restarted the process from scratch on both devices several times but keep landing up with the same result as soon the second device gets connected.
Any ideas?
thanksYou do not indicate whether you are trying to configure the extending AirPort with an iPhone or iPad....or....with a Mac or PC.
Can you provide a bit more information in that regard?
Assuming that you are using an iPhone / iPad for the setup, or a recent Mac......the setup utility will practically configure the extending AirPort for you automatically. All that you really need to do is name the device and the setup "wizard" takes over from there.
While the utility might initially indicate that the AirPort Express will be setup to extend the network, the real key is checking to make sure that the next setup screen indicates that the AirPort is being configured to extend using Ethernet. If you don't see extend using Ethernet, then the setup will not be correct.
Once the extending AirPort has been setup, if you then go back into AirPort Utility to check the setting for the extending AirPort, the actual setting for the AirPort will be "Create a wireless network". -
