Interest in SAP

Hi,
Presently i working in java/j2ee technologies.
I want move to SAP Industry.
plz give me suggestions regarding changing platform
is it right or wrong?.
if right give me how to develop SAP knowledge.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ram,
It's a good idea to move into SAP.  But before getting into XI, you need to know all about SAP and it's technology suite.  Go thro' these links and then gradually move into XI:-
1) First understand what is Netweaver?
http://www.sap.com/platform/netweaver/index.epx
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/ee/275c42b4e05542e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
2) Second download any one of the Netweaver preview version based on your system configuration from here
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6
3) Go through help document for working with SAP Netweaver.
Hope this helps.
Regards.

There is a lot of documentation available on the web.  Do a simple Google search using key words like "SAP Payroll Documentation" or "SAP HCM" and look for links that start with help.sap.com, www.sap-img.com, www.saptraininghelp.com, www.academictutorials.com/sap... or others like them.
And if you want to buy a book, look at http://www.sap-press.com

  • Interested in SAP IS ? Need some Assistance from Experts

    Hi Techies.
I am SAP XI Developer, i came to know that there is much demand for the SAP XI developers who is having Knowledge in IS-U/IDE.
Will you please help me and assist me in this.
Is it advisible to move from SAP XI to SAP IS.
    Please guide me...

    Nissi:
ISU uses XI in many places - but is only a mechanism for processing messages and integrating systems.  ISU itself is nothing like PI, and so it would be a radical departure for you.
I would suggest that you look at the help site, and other resources, as listed in the sticky threads at the top of this forum.

SAP apps heading to Microsoft Azure cloud | PCWorld

    Thanks Chris,
Allowing PowerBulider as an Azure hosted option and billed per actual usage would be a revolutionary breakthrough
I actually meant hosting the PowerBuilder (Classic and I guess .net) Development Environment.
A bit like so: Visual Studio Online Pricing Details | Microsoft Azure
The goal would be to be charged only for usage as developers use PB on a VM. No more installing and more importantly farting about with licensing.
In my opinion and without prejudice, licensing has always been difficult; until now when it appears all but impossible...
    Just a thought.

  • I'm new in SAP . Would like to have some advice

    Hi Friends ...
Hello all , perhaps I'm posting the thread into the correct thread category  , I'm really new in SAP and currently starting to put my interest into SAP . I'm currently doing IT Support (Unix Support). Previously I have no ideas about SAP and from my knowledge , jumping into sap is too costly until I found about getting to SAP academy through E-Learning which cost half of the actual normal classroom method of getting SAP certification . And obviously it pulled my interest . A few opinion and advices I would like to gather :
    1) Do you think that it worth for me to spend money for SAP certification ?
    2) What is the career prospect of an SAP certified ?
    3) What is normally the routine of the SAP consultant ? in term of the job dsecription .. I don have any ideas what is the scope of a SAP consultant .
    4) Is the SAP job marketable ? internationally ?
    5) What is the possibly of getting job for a newly certified SAP w/out experience
    6) Which is the best module that I should enroll for the certification ?
    7) What is normally market price for the SAP certified salary .
What is other tips/advice from you for me before i start investing on getting on the SAP certification . Many thanks in advance for the advices .
    Thank you
    Regards

    Hi,
Well looking at your queries I can suggest you to spend some time looking for the kind of requirements in the markets ( this you can find from different job portals). This answers your query number 2) and 3)
    1) Do you think that it worth for me to spend money for SAP certification ?
This is an investment and it is really worth it
    2) What is the career prospect of an SAP certified ?
As mentioned earlier, please check this yourself
    3) What is normally the routine of the SAP consultant ? in term of the job dsecription .. I don have any ideas what is the scope of a SAP consultant .
As mentioned earlier, please check this yourself
    4) Is the SAP job marketable ? internationally ?
    Yes
    5) What is the possibly of getting job for a newly certified SAP w/out experience
Good depending on your previous work experience
    6) Which is the best module that I should enroll for the certification ?
This is always dependent on 3 things:
    1) Your academic qualifications
    2) Your professionsal experience
    3) Your interest
    7) What is normally market price for the SAP certified salary .
Depends on your experience and as you are from IT market it varies a lot depending on your experience and the requirement of the company
    Hope this helps you.
Do let me know in case of any specific queries.
    Regards,

  • If SAP want to be masters of the Universe

I have been interested in SAP ERP and mySAP add ons for some time now. Reading a number of books. I know basically all of the buzz three letter words and so on. I also have a great understanding of where SAP has come from as well as where it wants to go. I have gotten to grips with the stack, and what it contains. However where does a newbie with no practical experience get on board this fantastic ship of technology.
I am based in LIverpool, England, which has just gained status as the European capital of culture. There is a lot of money being poured in to the city and masses of development, yet not many people even in businesses selling software have heard of SAP. We have one of the biggest University complexes on the earth, with young fresh people pouring out year after year, and there is nothing to offer them, regarding your wonderful technology.
I think if SAP want to be masters of the universe, you need to be known in the quietest corners, and the furthest reaches of it. There should be programmes offering work experience, so that they can see SAP in action and get to grips with its wonderful capabilities.
And as a final point anyone got any ideas on the best entry level into sap, I like developing and databases.

SD certification is 25 day course for 5 days a week & 5 weeks. The first four weeks is training & last week is dummy project.
It is recommended to do the course from Authorized SAP Training Partner. The course fees is high, but let me assure you that it is worth investing, as you will have a good career path.
During the course, we require to work for extended hours & practise on the system. Earlier part Time was available, but not now, as SAP has maintained control of the training server, which is available only from Monday to Friday.
For further information on any SAP training course, please contact Education Customer Services by:

  • SAP Content Manager

My client is looking into document management and is considering SAP Content Manager to store their paper invoices.  I am interested in SAP customer credentials regarding SAP Content Manager's ability to handle the following requirements:
    - Storage of 400k invoices per year
    - Retention period of 7 years (after which documents are destroyed)
    - Yearly growth of 10% more invoices than the previous year
    - 3 pages per invoice
    - Storage per page of 50KB
    - On-line availability through retention period
-> Result is ~550GB stored after 7 years
I am also interested in other 3rd-party recommendations such as Documentum (even though I am posting to an SAP forum site )

    Hi,
Only for major Support Package Stacks (09, 12, 15), SAP provides Development News on the content.
So, there is no document available for SP13.
Support Package Stack 15 was released end of February 2008.

Thank you for your interest in SAP Security. You are very welcome to investigate product security and to share your results with SAP ([email protected]). But this is exactly the place where SAP users should report security problems they may find. They should not report to other companies! That is why I removed your contact information and closed this thread.
To make myself clear: Please report security problems directly to [email protected] My collegues there will support to solve the issues.
