Sonatype has been doing a lot of work on getting good Flex support together
for Maven (and vice versa). They're holding a meetup where some of the

With the iPod Touch, you can sync all iTunes content with only one computer. Trying to sync iTunes content with a second computer will result in iTunes erasing the content from the first computer. As long as you move all your media to the computer you will sync with, iTunes will recognize each device separately and you can have different sync options for each device. Another difference to get used to is the iPod Touch does not have a disc mode like older iPods.

In Snow Leopard you update Java from Software Update (in the Apple menu). You can check your version by opening Terminal and typing
java -version
(don't get creative and type anything else)
The latest version is 1.6.0_65.

How come sometimes my iPod Touch gets stuck updating an app and then just deletes it?

How come sometimes my iPod Touch gets stuck updating an app and then just deletes it instead?
The update bar on the app gets stuck on empty and then the next time I sync the app gets deleted.
It is really annoying to lose all my data when updating an app, and it has happend more than once!
Any idea why it does this? I am scared to update my favorite apps for fear that they could be deleted.

I never had an app being deleted. You can always udate the app on the computer and then sync.

Maven and Flex

We can define the project structure in POM and then maven can
create the Eclipse project for that (
mvn eclipse:eclipse ). How can we write our pom.xml so that
after creating a project through
mvn eclipse:eclipse, we can do development in Java as well
as Flex?
For now, I am doing so by creating the base Java project
through maven and then editing the .project, .classpath files to
introduce build command and flex project nature. Also
.flexProperties and
.actionScriptProperties files have to be there in
place.

Stephan in the Devnet I saw an article about it a few month ago, maybe there
aren't new articles because the workflow hasn't change since the authors
published those articles.

I can't get itunes update to download and install properly. I get the following message Error7(windows error 26) what can I do

I recently tried to downlad the itunes update but it would not install properly and now I have no access to itunes and all my music. I get the following messages - Error7(windows error 26) and This applicaiton has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Can anyone help me fix this issue. I purchased five movies for download and having nothing but problems getting them downloaded. I keep receiving error messages and the download stops and I have to restart it, just to get another minute worth of download with each restart. Now Apple has my money and I have nothing.

I am getting an Update failed error and I have tried clicking Retry to no avail... it tells me to contact customer support. What can I do to correct this and get the update?

I am trying to get the updates for CS5 and I keep getting this message "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." What does this mean?

I am trying to update CS5 through the CS5 application. I hit "updates" in the help menu. It goes through its series of updates and then says " There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later."
I have no idea what this means. Of course, I have retried this….but to no avail. Can somebody help me?

Please do a forum search. I and others have repeatedly answered this question a whole bunch of times recently.
Bottom line: the Adobe auto updater is utterly useless in CS5 and prior versions. You need to download the updates and apply them manually yourself.
I and others have even supplied the links for Mac and Win, which you haven't even bothered to specify.

Tether & Develop Settings in LR3 always get the 'Update Process Version'

I am using tether with develop settings in LR3. I keep getting the 'Update Process Version' and it won't apply the filter unless I click the (!). It does this with newly created presets. Please help.

First things first, when you mention repairing permissions, I guess you're a Mac user.
First, hold down Opt while starting LR and see if you can start a clean catalog ok. That'll determine whether it's catalog specific.
Then go to Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Preferences / and move or delete any com.adobe.lightroom*.plist files.
And while you're there, I'd also go to Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Lightroom / and move that Lightroom folder somewhere else for the moment.
Then see if it works. Could be a few things - most likely are a problem with the catalog, corrupted preferences file, or a preset that it doesn't like. We can exclude those quite easily using the above.

How to get free update iWorks/iLife?

Two years ago I bought my MacBook together with iWorks and iLife online in the Apple Store. On internet, I read that I can get free updates for iWorks and iLife. I tried several ways to get these updates, but the Mac App Store doesn't list my software. I searched the internet for a solution but couldn't find one. Can you help me?

I accidentally deleted all of my updates and they're not coming back. I haven't been able to make any updates since 2006. I have a log of my past updates but I cannot seem to get them active again. Is there any easy way to get these updates active again?
This was a while ago back in 2006 but from what I can remember I actually deleted/permanently removed these updates from my list of updates. I tried keeping all the updates except for two that I did not need and somehow deleted all of the updates I wanted to keep. I've tried reseting my ignored updates but that does not bring back the updates. If i delete the two that I originally attempted to remove - it only brings those two back. I hope there is still some way to get these updates back. I appreciate any help that anyone is able to give me.

I have version 5.7 and every time I opened it I was told that updates are available and to click on the icon to access these. Instead it just took me to the
adobe page with nowhere visible to update. I then sought to download lightroom cc and this is when I could not access the 'develop' section due to reduced
functionality It was apparent that my photos had been put in cc but no way to access them unless I wanted to subscribe.
I have since remedied the problem as my original lightroom 5.7 icon is still available on the desktop and have gone back to that. I do feel that this is a bit
of a rip off and an unnecessary waste of my time though.

.. and by the way, the jump from FCP 6.0.3 to FCP 7.0 (or higher) isn't an "update" It's a full version "upgrade" that has to be done using the install discs (or disc images).

You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

Open "Java Preferences" either from spotlight or your utilities folder...it's probably going to say you need to install a java runtime. Then just click install!
