Interesting links to learn about B1i

Hi,
If you are planning to use the SAP Business One Integration Technology and you have some doubts about the different possilibities, you have now a B1i page in the Service Marketplace(SAP user login required) clarifying everything. Just go to the page [http://channel.sap.com/sbo/b1i|http://channel.sap.com/sbo/b1i]  and find out all you need around that topic.
A set of recorded webinar sessions is also available in the [PSD Calendar |https://psd.sap-ag.de/PEC/calendar/](SAP user login required), just search for "B1" sessions archived after May 2011 and you will find out several exercises showing how to develop new scenarios with the Integration Framework.
You can also find useful insight information on the B1i technology and products at http://www.sap-b1i.com.

That was probably some good info., but in future, please direct it towards (reply to) the original poster, rather than the sig-link spammer.
I had reported it some time before your post, and was hoping it would be blocked quickly. OTOH I expect it and the sub-thread will be blocked ..checks watch ..soon now.

    Steps to create
    Create project, Subproject, Object (freely definable, for the purpose of
    identification) – Use create icon in the menu. For example
    Project FI Finance
    Subproject GL GL MASTER
    Object GL GL Master
    2. Continue F8, Now you will see series of steps. Select the step and execute
    it (Ctrl-F8). In each steps, we will do some activity and save it. Then
    system prompts for the next activity.
    3. Maintain object attributes. By default the screen in display mode, Click
    on ‘pencil button’ to get into change mode. (This is applicable to upto the
    activity assign files). In this screen select ‘Batch input recording’ and
    in ‘Recording’ give name (freely definable) sal ‘GL01’ and click on Overview.
    In this screen button (Recordings overview). Now click on create button for
    recording. Give name and description, Now it will ask for the transaction
    code, enter the transaction code and enter the data, the way you want fill in
    the SAP screens/fields with legacy data. Then save the transaction. Now save
    again to save the recording. After that you select the button ‘default all’,
    then save it. And come back, now the cursor is on next activity.
    4. Maintain source structures. Here create the structure by specifying name
    (freely definable).
    5. Maintain source fields. In this screen, click on ‘copy fields’ (Ctrl+F8),
    here select ‘From data file(field names in 1st line)’. Now the system asks
    for the file, select your text file, the system will copy the fiedls from
    text file (tab delimited file. It contains field names in the first row).
    Save it.
    6. Maintain structure relations. Generally, we need not do anything here.
    7. Maintain field mapping and conversation rules. Here put the cursor on the
    field and click on source field, now you can see the list of field available,
    from which select one which is equal to the field on which you out the
    cursor. You can also write coding (ABAP Code) on any field for the purpose of
    validation of data. Save it.
    8. Maintain fixed values, translations, user-defined routines. Here also you
    can maintain values, if required.
    9. Specify files. In this screen, place the cursor on Legacy data, then click
    on create button. The system asks for the file name, (the text file, in which
    the legacy data is there), enter the file name, description and select Data
    for one source structure (table), delimiter as ‘Tabulator’, file structure
    as “Field names at the beginning of the file”.
    10. Assign files. The file name you specified in earlier step comes
    automatically here, If the file name does not come, then click
    on ‘assignment’ button and assign the file.
    11. Read data. Here specify the ‘transaction number’ (the number not less
    than the number of rows in the text file). Execute it.
    12. Display read data. Here, you can see the values, how the system read the
    data.
    13. Convert data. Here specify the ‘transaction number’ (the number not less
    than the number of rows in the text file). Execute it.
    14. Display converted data. Here, you can see the values, how the system
    converted the data, after interpreting conversion rules specified in the
    earlier steps. This is the data that is actually goes into SAP, once the
    Batch Input session is run.
    15. Create batch input session. Specify the ‘batch input session’ name for
    identification and also select the ‘keep session’.
    16. Run Batch Input Session. Select the batch input and click ‘Process’, from
    there select ‘foreground’ or ‘background’. Now the program runs and update
    the data in to SAP. You can analyze the batch input for the successful
    postings, errors.

  • Please suggest me the best way to start learning about Oracle Purchasing.

    Hi,
    I have started reading about Oracle Procurement. I have an over all idea of how ERP functions. Anyhow I am like a fresher to ORACLE APPS. Can you pleasesuggest me what is the best way to start learning about Oracle Purchasing.
    Is it is throuhg user guides or some thing else..... can you please specify the references also.......
    Thank you so much.

    If you have a sponsorship, I would recommend taking classes with Oracle University. The other resources are documentation, functional and technical depending on what your interests are.
    If you can load Vision database or access vision database (I think solutionbeacon offers a free account to login and play around), that will be another resource as well.
    As you learn, join as much user groups like this one, and review all questions and answers in the discussions to understand and learn more.
    Hope this helps.

  • Want to learn about xCode

    I bought my first Mac in february and I love everything about it. that said, I've been trying to get my hands on as much software as possible and I'm interested in learning about xCode. is there somewhere I can get started, right from scratch? I don't know much about developing software at all but I'm willing to learn.
    Thanks

    I posted this a while back. I don't know if it was helpful or not. It is a tutorial on C programming written by the author of a very good book on Motif programming.
    How C Programming Works
    Since you are just starting, my advice is to stay out of Xcode, just for little bit. Go through some basic "HelloWorld" tutorials. Learn how the terminal works. Learn a little bit about the process of compiling a source file into an executable. Xcode is very good, but it hides a lot of what is going on underneath. I think you would be much more effective with Xcode if you knew a little about that hidden stuff.

  • I want to learn about workflow any one can provide the guidence for me

    i want to learn about workflow any one can provide the guidance for me

    SAP Business Workflow can be used to define business processes that are not yet mapped in the R/3 System. These may be simple release or approval procedures, or more complex business processes such as creating a material master and the associated coordination of the departments involved. SAP Business Workflow is particularly suitable for situations in which work processes have to be run through repeatedly, or situations in which the business process requires the involvement of a large number of agents in a specific sequence.
    Features
    SAP Business Workflow provides a number of tools for defining and analyzing workflows as well as for monitoring operation.
    The Workflow Builder is for displaying and making changes to workflows. You can make small extensions directly to the original workflows supplied by SAP, such as carrying out your own agent assignments or changing deadline monitoring.
    There are several Workflow Wizards to support you in the definition of workflows, with which you can create specific parts of a workflow. The Workflow Wizard Explorer gives you an overview of the existing Workflow Wizards.
    In order to make the functions of the R/3 Systems available to a workflow, you use business objects, which you can define and analyze in the Business Object Builder. These business objects are made available to the workflow in reusable tasks. The Business Wizard Explorer gives you an overview of all existing tasks.
    You can also use SAP Business Workflow to respond to errors and exceptions in other, existing business processes. You can start a workflow when predefined events occur, for example an event can be triggered if particular errors are found during an automatic check.

    Hi,
    I don't know hardly anything about servers or how they work. I'd like to learn about what servers do, why they need to be powerful, what nodes are, and just about everything. I am hoping someone can point me to a site or article of some sort that could get me started.

  • Learning about classes

    Hi,
    I'm working my way through "The Java Programming Language, Fourth Editition" by Sun Microsystems. There are exercises through the book, but they don't give the solutions (which is helpful!!!).
    They show a simple class, then ask you to produce an identical one to keep track of vehicles. Based on their sample code this should be the code:
    class Vehicle {
         public int speed;
         public String direction;
         public String owner;
         public long idNum;
         public static long nextID = 0;
      }Then then ask you to write a class called LinkedList giving no coding examples 'that has a field type Object and a reference to the next LinkedList element in the list. Can someone help me to decipher what this means and the appropriate code?
    They then show how to create objects linked to the vehicle class, which based on their sample code should be
    Vehicle car = new Vehicle();
    car.idNum = Vehicle.nextID++;
    car.speed = 120
    car.direction = "North"
    car.owner = "Metalhead":
    This is the bit that next confuses me. They ask you to write a main method for your Vehicle class that creates a few vehicles and prints their field values.
    The next exercise is to write a main method for LinkedList class that creates a few objects of type vehicle and places them into successive nodes in the list.
    Is'nt it correct that the above code starting 'Vehicle car' would be the code used to create the object which would go in the LinkerList calling on the Vehicle method which has already been defined? For example, successive entries could be for bus, bike etc in the LinkerList. What does it mean though to place these into successive 'nodes' on the list? And why would you create vehicles in the main method of the Vehicle class. Shouldn't they just be created in the LinkerList?
    I'm only learning about classes and I'm confused already?
    Any help (and code) would be great!!!!
    Thanks for any help,
    Tim
    p.s. I know what I have written sounds vague, bu the book doesn't really give much extra helpful info.

    First of all, the variables of the "Vehicle" class should all be private.
    You should not be able to directly retrieve each variable from this class
    Example:
    Vehicle car = new Vehicle();
    car.idNum = Vehicle.nextID++;
    car.speed = 120
    car.direction = "North"
    car.owner = "Metalhead"You should have methods that can change this data as well as retrieve the data.
    Example:
    class Vehicle {
         private int speed;
         private String direction;
         private String owner;
         private static long nextID = 0;
            public Vehicle() {
                speed = 0;
                direction = "";
                owner = "";
                ++nextID;
            // These methods retrieve the attributes
         public int getSpeed() { return speed; }
            public String getDirection()  { return new String(direction);}
            public String getOwner() { return new String(owner);}
            public long getidNum() { return idNum; }
            // These methods change the attributes
         public int setSpeed(int i) { speed = i; }
            public String setDirection(String s)  { direction = new String(s); }
            public String setOwner(String s) { owner = new String(s); }
    }Now, they want you to create another CLASS that shows what your Vehicle class can do.
    Example:
    public class SomeRandomExampleClass {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Vehicle v1 = new Vehicle();
            // Now let's fix up our vehicle
            v1.setSpeed(100);
            v1.setOwner("Zeus");
            v1.setDirection("North");
            // Do note that since idNum is a static variable, it will be increased everytime you create
            // an instance of a Vehicle, and works with the class rather than the object.
            // For instance, if you create Vehicle's v1, v2, and v3, then v1's idNum = 1, v2's idNum = 2;
            // and v3's idNum = 3.
            Vehicle v2 = new Vehicle() ;
            v2.setSpeed(500);
            v2.setOwner("Ricky Bobby");
            v2.setDirection("NorthEast");
            System.out.println(v1.getSpeed()); // prints v1's speed.
            System.out.println(v1.getOwner()); // prints Owner
            System.out.println(v1.getDirection); // Prints Direction
            System.out.println(v1.getidNum());  // prints idNum
            System.out.println(v2.getSpeed()); // prints v1's speed.
            System.out.println(v2.getOwner()); // prints Owner
            System.out.println(v2.getDirection); // Prints Direction
            System.out.println(v2.getidNum());  // prints idNum
    }A linked list is what it sounds like. It can hold a list of (let's say vehicles) and you can print their
    attributes from there.
    For instance, let's say we have a list called list1.
    list1.add(vehicle1);
    list1.add(vehicle2);
    Then you can iterate(move) through your list and print the attributes of each vehicle, instead of having to
    call v1.doThis() v1.doThis(), v2.doThis().
    I find it amusing they want you to create a LinkedList when you are first using/learning classes.
    To understand how to create a linked list, you can visit:
    http://leepoint.net/notes-java/data/collections/lists/simple-linked-list.html
    Or you can use:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/util/LinkedList.html

  • Learning about computer

    I am interested in learning about computers. I would like to start at the very beginning, learning about computer components such as the mother board, modem, etc., as I am very foggy about these things. Do you have any suggestions for easy self-starting reading material?
    Thank you.

    My first thought is to try your local public library. My father, aged 62, bought his first computer (with my help) in 2006. He went along to some free courses ran by the local library, and as well as giving him basic computer use skills, I'm pretty sure they also covered the basics on computer components.
    Google could be your friend for this though too I'm sure...

  • Learning about 3D Maths for 3D graphics

    Hello everybody,
    I'd like to learn about 3D Maths so that I can learn about 3D graphics programming. I've been searching around the Internet for guides and have found some. I've learned a bit from what I've found on the net such as matrix arithmetic and vectors etc. These two things are apparently key to 3D graphics. Thus far however I've been unable to put all this stuff together in order to create something as simple as, say, a 3D rotating wire frame box (that old chestnut). Does anybody here have any good links to websites which may set me in the right direction regarding 3D graphics/Maths? I'll be very grateful for any help. Thanks a lot.

    Ah, back in the day when real programmers coded protected mode managers and 3D engines. And we liked it that way! Or course, we were still too wussy to walk uphill in the snow. That was for old geezers. :P
    My favorite 3D tut was the one by KiwiDog, last spotted at Raven software. Check it out here:

    I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Get a copy of "Tricks of the Game Programming Gurus" if you can find it. That book contains practically every formula you'd ever need for 2D and 3D work. Plus, it's fun to read. :-)
    Does anyone else think we should start a petition to either have the book reprinted or released into public domain?

  • Using Learn About FireFox and the 'Markers' disappeared never to return?

    Downloaded and installed FF4 for Mac
    Elected to ‘Learn about FireFox’, the browser complete with the Markers and dotted track/order to access line was displayed.
    Hit the first Marker and the relevant info window displayed.
    Hit the next Marker and then was distracted by another link and hit that.
    Returning (back button probably) to the learning session found all the Markers had disappeared.
    Tried various things to get the Markers to reappear but no luck so far.
    I did not restart FF4 but surely this should not be necessary?
    I will do this now but think this needs attention.
    Cheers, NSN
    EDIT: From the links obtained via a Google, I followed the most prominent to Mozilla.com and the info lead me to believe I was downloading FF4. I see this is not so!

    Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?
