Interface Full screen border
This is a little that irritates me on Lightroom. it's the Grey Border that goes around the whole screen on fullscreen mode and the little arrows that are in your faceon the edges when you have tabs hidden. For Most of the Phototogs we've been using this for a while and we know that the tabs are there and can access them by mouse over. Do we need to have the arrows make up that space or we could just get rid of the along with the border around the whole thing. I want to focus on the photo i'm editing and not anything else.
They don't bother me, but I know how those little things can be sometimes... and respect your opinion that they bother you. I don't think anyone would be adversely affected if they were toned down a touch or two (i.e. made darker, but still visible).
To take it a step further, I actually may see an opportunity for the developers to add some value to these markers (regardless of whether or not they make them less obtrusive or not): position them according to the center-lines of the image being viewed (rather than the center-lines of the monitor, as they are currently). In their current implementation, they provide useful information (i.e. a quick and easy way to see the center of each axis) only if no panels are visible, or if both the left- and the right-panels are visible and also identical in size. If one side panel is taken away (as in the screen-shot you posted above), the top and bottom arrows no longer provide useful information, as the center of the image is now shifted towards the side without a visible panel.
It's a small detail, but perhaps and easy one to refine...

FlashDVD.swf to FLA for better interface (full screen...)
Does anyone know how to edit the FLA for FlashDVD.swf so i can add features like full screen and stuff? Posably decompiling?

Full screen playback in PE9 garbled - anyone else see this?
I mentioned this in a general post but I'll make it a specific question now -
When I click on the "full screen" button near the top right of the interface, full screen playback has a corrupted area which corresponds with where the timescale is on the normal interface. Sometimes the playback cursor "breaks through" as a black vertical line too.
Does anyone else see this?
I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed. Windows XP Pro SP3 Q9300 quad core PC 2GB memory.
Thanks for any observations. It's very obvious if you do have the problem - a wide strip of the video (horizontal, matching the timescale hidden beneath the full screen display) gets shifted sideways somewhat (flickering on and off), so that any vertical object in the footage gets displaced sideways at that point in an obvious juddering fashion. I tried to do a screen grab but simply doing that makes the problem change - it is more evident when the footage is running than when frozen.
Anyway, adjusting the Windows Display Properties "hardware acceleration" slider, moving it to the left till it is set to the point where the message beneath reads "Disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D acceleraions. Use this setting to correct severe problems with DirectX accelerated applications" seems to fix the problem.
Graphics card is a GeForce 8600 GT, in case that's relevant.
At least I know how to work around the problem. Let's see if others come across the same problem in due course. Maybe it's just a local issue. -
Photoshop CS5: border in full screen mode
I ran this by in the User forums. Now I think I should file it as a bug.
I use full screen mode in PS. It's important to me,especially when I take screenshots.
Photoshop CS5 shows a border in full screen. Something CS4 or even Bridge CS5 doesn't do. I've attached an example:
My video card is not detected by CS5 (or CS4) so the GPU options are grayed out in Preferences. I could shut off aero...but I like the functions it provides and I don't think I should switch in and out for one program. If any of the programmers here look at the situation....I'd like to know if they can fix it in a future update release.

Back to CS4 -
I've moved over to Photos - no especial problems to report.
But I'd be very glad if anyone can explain why, in full screen view, some photos appear as smaller than others. That is, some photos appear with larger black borders to the sides and about half a centimetre of black border top and bottom. Normally photos go to the edge of screen top and bottom - which is as you'd hope, so you can see the maximum amount of detail.
It happens with portrait and landscape format. So far as I can work out, the pattern is that one photo will display in full screen, then the next one not, flip-flopping back and forth. Apart from wasting screen space, this makes it harder to (e.g) HDR and normal versions of the same shot. Is anyone experiencing the same, or got any ideas what could be going on, or even better, how to stop this?
For clarity: I am looking at photos taken in the past few days on an iPhone 5s.

How to display web interface in full screen mode
Hi,
I would like to view my web interface in full screen mode in internet explorer. Is there anyway we can switch off the toolbars and URL automatically while calling the web interface
Thanks
SRHello SR,
I don't think it is possible to do this directly in the web interface. Otherwise many websites would change your browser settings.
It's possible to set the window properties, when the window is opened from JavaScript for example. So you could create a dummy start page and add some JavaScript to open a window for the web interface with the settings you require. Here's a good page that explains it:

InDesign to PDF-Full Screen Publish w/out Border
Hi, and thanks to any in the community for any help!
I create not for print, but rather screen-based viewing. I understand setting docs to open in Full Screen mode; however, I want my ID-originated PDFs to fill the entire screen with no border (to right or left of my content.)
Most of my PDFs are intended for single page viewing. When I create content in MS PPT I set slide size to full screen (16:9), publish to PDF, and get the desired effect. See pic 2 below.
I want my ID-originated PDF to not have a border region to the left and right (as seen in pic1)
I'm new to ID and for the life of me can't create a doc which does not have large borders to the right and left of my content (wasted real estate!). I'm sure I'm missing a little thing, have looked all over Youtube and forums but can't resolve! Again any help most appreciated. Am I setting doc properties wrong? (See pic 3).

No borders in this screen shot (both are from published PDFs!)
Maybe my doc settings? I've tried many variables- here's last:
Again, thanks tons for any help! New to ID and just want my content fill screen w/out "borders" as I know is possible in Acrobat PDF's because I do it often from PPT.
Best. axabicasSure! And thanks again for any help- most appreciated.
In this LINK I created a PDF from PPT. Clicking CNTR/Command + L you will see that the PDF does not display "borders" (I'm sure I'm using a wrong word). It's Full Screen! It's to say, there is no space occupied on the screen to the left or right of the "canvas" or content I created- (dark grey areas on both sides of my content). This is what I want from ID.
In this LINK the PDF has "borders" on both sides- (dark grey content) taking up room on both the left and right sides of my content. This is what I want to eliminate,
Hope helps- thanks again for any suggestions/insight! -
Strange image border / bright edges on full screen preview
Hi,
I'm getting strange image borders on full screen preview. I've taken a photo to show this effect. Its noticebly wider on the left and right edges compared to top and bottom. Anyone know how to turn this border off?
http://www.oriontransfer.co.nz/Projector/IMG_2307.jpg
I've often noticed it, but its become more of a problem because I've just bought a 720p projector to display some photographs. I think the low resolution exacerbates the problem.
Regards,
SamuelI've added one more image of the top right hand corner. I've boosted the contrast to clearly show the problem. This problem is not just on the projector, it can also be seen on my new MacBook Pro LCD screen.

Permission request for going full screen and border alert removal.
Ok so I play some applications games on facebook and currently everytime I go to full screen via the game it requires me to "allow" the program to go full screen. Also there is always a border alert if my cursor touches it and causes an alert to pop up and tell me what url im connected too. It pops up right in the middle of my screen and has gotten so troublesome I have scoured the internet for possible solutions.
The picture above is the current alert when going to full screen and I want to get rid of this for good after allowing it about 10,000 times enough is enough. How do i shut this off?
this is what i see in the middle of my screen anytime my cursor touches the outer border of my screen which as you can imagine in a high paced gaming situation can be a killer.... I want to keep this from popping up at all I understand i can hit esc to get out of full screen. In fact i got the point the first 50,000 times i saw it.
PLEASE HELP ME !! i am desperate to remove these and have found nothing on the net after searching vigorously.
Thank you in advance for any assistance in this matter.Check your keyboard settings. Therre are "gaming settings" for things repetitive keypresses, and shortcuts enabling and disabling.

Show photo full screen without border?
When I try to show a photograph "full screen" (ctrl-cmd-F), there is a border around the photo which wastes screen space and makes the photo harder to see than a true full screen display would. Is there a way to show photos over the whole screen without Photos adding anything (like borders or controls)? I know you can use the slider to make a single image fit the screen, but of course, that is unreasonable for many photos, especially if you are showing photographs to other people. Thanks.
I found the (sort of) answer after some playing a bit more. It seems that Photos does not enlarge a photo to fill the screen if the photo's resolution is less than the resolution of the screen (or maybe some multiple of the resolutions is used). So if you have a large photograph and show it in full screen, it will indeed take the full screen. But if you have say a 1200x800 photo on a MacBook Retina 15 inch, full screen will show the photo with a border around it.
I've never before seen a photo viewer that does not have an option to expand small photos to fill the screen, but apparently I have now. I assume this omission is in keeping with Apple's philosophy that function is secondary to simplicity (where simplicity is defined solely as keeping options to a minimum). I'd love to be wrong about this so if anyone knows of an option to expand all photos to fill the screen regardless of the resolution of the original image, I'd still like to know. Thanks again -
Stop full-screen windows in DW CS6 interface.
My preference for using DW is to have code view, site files & that's it. I really dont need any other feature.
I have turned off the Application frame in DW CS6 & saved my workspace preference as code & site only.
However whenever I open a file, it always insists on making the code window full screen - thats rather annoying because the reason to turn off apllication frame is so you can see the desktop & other open files - but this just covers everything over again.
Is there a way for DW to remember your prefered window size?I agree, this is incredibly annoying, the application frame is the only way to control the size of the window, but you cannot "see through the cracks" to other open windows. Some of us actually do real work with your programs, which usually involve keeping multiple windows open at the same time, your insistence on opening windows full screen with no work around (no scripting programs, such as Quickeys or Keyboard Maestro can control your window sizes, either). If you "play" at development you can focus only using only one program at a time, but I have to follow wireframes and insert Word copy hundreds of times a day, and everytime you force me into several unnecessary steps with your fantastic new interface philosophy. PLEASE fix this. Either open up your Window schema so scripting programs have access to changing your window sizes, allow the user to define what size windows open at (or make it Workspace preference), or make the application frames transparent and allow us to click through the frame to other programs. PLEASE.

Have 1-inch black border on each side monitor - how do I get back to full screen?
Have a one-inch black border each side of screen, can't move out to full screen horizontally?
Check that you have selected the correct screen resolution for your Mac in System Preferences>Displays. Depending on OS it's either 'Best for built-in display' or the top one on the list of screen resolutions.

PhilipHi Jeff
Thanks so much that's all very helpful. In regards to my full screen question I may be imagining it but I'm sure I heard you can bring the entire interface to full screen like you would with iPhoto or a web page etc.
Thanks again for such a quick response!
Cheers

Full screen keeps video size the same, fills the rest with black border
I am having an issue when trying to watch olympics on the BBC website. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video
When I click any video (live or archived), it gives options with three players to watch it in. According to the FAQ page on the site, the only way to get a true full screen experience (no letter boxing), is to use the "pop-out" player, then click full screen. When I do this, the picture size remains the same and goes to the upper left corner, with the rest of the screen filled with black (see attached photo). I have tried EVERYTHING. And by everything I have tried:
Chrome, Firefox, IE, all with the most recent update and most recent flash player
Tried reverting to a previous version of flash player
Tried disabiling hardware accelaration
Tried changing the screen resolution
Tried using an external HDMI display
Tried starting with a "clean" test windows user
Tried updating my video card driver
I have no idea what else to do, with the end goal of being able to stream the olympics for the next two weeks on my HDTV through HDMI. Please assist. thank you in advance
THi Willy:
I just tried the link and got the same "can't show this" message as Pat, but WAS able to call up the player by clicking on the yellow button near the bottom, marked "Watch the Film."
I tried viewing it full screen by simply double-clicking in the center of the video and it displayed full screen mode on my PC. I'd guess that the video comes from the same source as the streaming version. I tried some of the other videos on the site and they all displayed full screen correctly. I couldn't locate the "archived" videos you mentioned, though, to check them.
Have you tried simply double-clicking the video to make it full screen?

Viewing 3rd party video in full screen with itunes 9 with black border
Hello,
In the previous version of itunes I could copy my dvd's (movies and tv shows) with handbrake into a mp4 file for my iphone and then watch them on laptop if I wanted by using itunes. When I did, I could set it to full screen and it would keep the movies/tv shows at a good size to watch and not distort the image and still put a black screen behind it. So, therefore, I could watch a small version of the movie without seeing my desktop in the background.
With iTunes 9 I can't seem to do that. If I try to watch these same movies in Full Screen or Fit to Screen it blows everything up huge. This ends up looking distorted because there isn't enough resolution. I know that I could watch it on actual size or double size but then I can't get that great black background that hides the desktop.
Is there a setting that I am missing to get this back? Or is this feature just totally gone?
Help!I have found the issue, it's the Audio plug in SRS iWOW which is not compatible anymore, I had to manually uninstall iWOW by going to the folder /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/ and deleting the iWOW file from there.
Hope that helps someone one day.
