Interface Tables Metadata

Hello, we are trying to load an HFM application using epm interface table. According to the tutorial, we have to load a table called HS_DATA_CONSOLIDATION, i think we got most of the columns covered, but i have questions about 2 of them, LOADID => not sure what to put here, VIEWDIMENSION, i hardcoded thevalue YTD just to get the data loaded, but i'm not sure if that is the right value to put, the HFM guys are not telling me if there is a "default" value for hfm that can be put here. Anyone has any experience on this ?
"LOADID" NUMBER(38,0),
"SCENARIO" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"YEAR" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"PERIOD" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"VIEWDIMENSION" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"VALUE" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"ENTITY" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"ACCOUNT" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"ICP" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"CUSTOM1" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"CUSTOM2" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"CUSTOM3" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"CUSTOM4" NVARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL ENABLE,
"DATA" FLOAT(126) NOT NULL ENABLE

Hi vvipirailo,
Thanks for your answer.
Following your tip we've tried to create a new member manually with the same name and we got the same error.
We can update old member with properties in interface table without any problem.
Looks like it sees the update as a new member, instead of old member with new properties.
About the lenght of member name or aliases we don't believe that can be an issue because we only have names and aliases with less than 25 chars.

Luís

  • Loading metadata into EPMA applications using Interface tables-Automation

    Hi,
I am loading the metadata into epma applications using interface tables as ODI dont perit to load metadata into epma applications. Is there any way of using ODI and interface tables together to load the metadata
This process also need to be automated.

    Hi,
It is certainly possible and has be done, though there is not anything available that will do it for you, you will have to put in some effort learning the structure of the interface tables, then build interfaces and then a package in ODI to streamline the process.

  • [Error] Import metadata from interface tables

    Hi all!
We're trying to update Entity dimension through import profile and we're getting the following error:
"This member cannot be inserted because the parent member has another child member with the same name" - This happen to all members of dimension.
Since the members already exist in dimension, the import process should skip them.
We already checked if there was any issue related with Case Sensitive and there is no issue.
    Hyperion Version: 11.1.1.3
    Anyone can help wit this?

  • Interface tables bug?? Hyp 11.1.1.2 with EPMA patched

    HI,
I am facing one issue. When loading metadata from interface tables to dimension library, not all my member properties make their way into dimension library.
This happens when i am performing load of all dimensions in one profile:
E.g. Account dimension. In interface tables i set up 'account type' as Expense and 'Variance reporting' as Expense. After I import dimensions i still see for a member these properties as 'Revenue' and 'NonExpense'. So it does not take into account my changes.
But when I load dimension account alone, these changes are being transformed to dimension library. Problem arises when i have e.g. 1 associated table with account dimension (mostly Alias dimension). Without selecting this dimension the log gives me an error (alias must be also selected) but changes will go through. When i add alias or more dimensions I will get no error which is right but changes will not go through.
Can you please help with this issue?

Is this an essbase only application? It seems like the property is defaulting to stored and then flipping the initial stored member to shared because Essbase isn't interpreting the deployment correctly. I would try using ShareData as the datastorage property (I think that is the correct spelling). Also, I believe the correct way to set IsPrimary is Y/N and not 0/1.
If that did not work I would try the following in this order:
1 - I would first extract the dimension in question using the file generator and confirm that the properties are indeed correct.
2 - If they were correct. I would toggle the dimension from shared->local->shared. EPMA is still a little nutty and this will fix a fair amount of issues as it will 'refresh' the application's version of the dimension. I would then deploy
3 - deploy from EPMA->Planning only (no essbase creation), then deploy to essbase separately after ensuring the property represents itself in planning. If it is essbase only - create the outlnie instead of refresh.
4 - create a duplicate app in EPMA and deploy the copy of the app - and see if it has the same problem
Try that and see how it goes.

  • ODI & Interface tables

    Hi,
I'm having trouble with the scheduler, when I schedule the import of the metadata into the hyperion interface tables the scheduler brings in only one record. But when I execute manually it imports all the record.
    Is there anything I'm missing?
Any help will be verymuch appreciated.
    Thanks

Here's an SQL query to display the list of INTERFACES that are in a PACKAGE, with the target datastore and its logical schema :

  • Use of open interface tables in R12

    Hello,
Can someone tell me the status of using open interface tables in release 12. Is this still a supported mechanism for importing data into the product, or must you use a PL/SQL/Java API, XML gateway etc?
iREP for 11.5.10 lists these open interface tables, but they are missing from the embedded iREP in R12. However, looking in the database for the RA_CUSTOMERS_INTERFACE_ALL shows that the tables exists. Is it supported to still use open interface tables, or are they just there for legacy upgrade purposes? If it is supported, where is the documentation for these R12 open interface tables?
I wish to integrate into various modules using Oracle Data Integrator and it seems to only have 'integration knowledge modules' to support open interface tables.
i look forward to your response.
    Cheers,
    John

    Hi Helios,
Thanks for your response. Two of the links do not work.
All I really need to know for sure is that R12 supports open interface tables.
Perhaps I didn't use the embedded R12 iRep correctly - the standard view by product family certainly didn't show any open interface table, and they did not appear in the 'interface type' drop down list. However, I notice from an example on the web that you can pivot the results by interface type. I will try that when the environment becomes available again.
    cheers,
    John

  • Open Interface Table for iExpense Template

Where can I find the table name of the Open Interface for uploading master records of GL, AR, AP, FA? I can only find the name to upload journal entries and AR, AP Invoice. Can someone advise me where can I find the open interface tables list for master records?
In particular, I would like to upload the Expense Item Template for Internet Expense of AP. I want to update the items by SQL Loader. (not the entries or transactions but master records of existing item code in the Expense template)
    Thank you very much.

  • Is this a bug in OWB 11.2 - importing table metadata for character columns

The Oracle® Warehouse Builder Data Modeling, ETL, and Data Quality Guide provides an overview of the data types supported.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/owb.112/e10935/orcl_data_objx.htm
It says that for VARCHAR2 data type it saws (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/owb.112/e10935/orcl_data_objx.htm#CHDFIADI )
"Stores variable-length character data. How the data is represented internally depends on the database character set. The VARCHAR2 data type takes a required parameter that specifies a maximum size up to 4,000 characters"
That means , I guess, it says that when I import a table, any columns of type VARCHAR2(10) in the database should have its length show as characters in OWB, so a column of type Varchar2(10) in the Oracle database, should be shown as Varchar2(10) when imported into OWB table metadata via the OWB import function.
However, if I have a database that set-up as a single-byte and import a table using the OWB import function a column that has a size of e.g. 10 in the database, is imported as OWB table metadata and the size is 10. Correct, I am happy.
However, if the database is modified to support multi-byte characters, ALTUF16 encoding with the semantics set to "CHAR", then when I import the same table into OWB, OWB reports the size as 40, I guess its 40 bytes as in 10 characters @ 4 bytes per character.
Is this a bug in OWB, as the datatype in the Oracle DB is varchar2(10), should OWB after importing a table not also report the column as VARCHAR2(10) ? Currently, is shows the column as varchar2(40).

I noticed that myself in our project.
Our varchars2 are defined as VARCHAR2(xxx CHAR) - OWB puts the size*4
In fact if you have special characters like umlauts (ü,ä,ö,...) it will use 4 bytes per character.
You can try it yourself. Define a Varchar2(1 CHAR) and manually change the size of the Column in your mapping inside OWB (in filters, joins or your target table).
Then shoot an umlaut through the mapping and will end up with a "too small" error.
Dont mind the size*4 issue - we totally ignored it and run without error since 4 years now.

  • Import standard Purchase Order process and interface tables

    Hi all,
We are populating three PO interface tables from our custom developed application. PO_HEADERS_INTERFACE, PO_LINES_INTERFACE and PO_DISTRIBUTIONS_INTERFACE. We are using 11.5.10.2 version of Oracle Apps.
Initially we did not manage to populate the distributions interface table, but, now we are populating it. And after doing so, when we run the Import standard Purchase Order process for 'Approved' POs, the process_id for even the record which has correct distributions info also gets 'Rejected' as a value. The process is considering a mix of records : the approved POs that DO NOT HAVE distribution info in PO_DISTRIBUTIONS_INTERFACE (which we had not managed to populate) and the approved POs that HAVE distribution info in PO_DISTRIBUTIONS_INTERFACE.
does the Import standard Purchase Order process populate partial data that could be good or it rejects the whole lot of records?
Can anyone guide on this issue?
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Aparna

Another piece of info I would like to share is
I have run the process for an approved PO with distributions info in PO_DISTRIBUTIONS_INTERFACE. This time no mixed data. In PO_INTERFACE_ERRORS table, an entry was found: for column name : PO_DISTRIBUTION_ID in ERROR_MESSAGE column 'Error: Has no distributions'.
Edited by: Aparna on Jul 24, 2009 8:03 AM
After carrying out number of tests, I have found out that
    1) if the approval_status for the po is 'Approved' in the po_headers_interface table, it gives the above mentioned error and the process_id is 'rejected'.
    2) if the approval_status for the po is 'Incomplete' in the po_headers_interface table, the process add the 'accepted' value for the process_id. But, the charge account number is not populated in shipments.

    2. Creating the Journal entries. -> We are having GL_INTERFACE & Journal Import program to import the journals.
    3. Finally we have to posting the same into GL.-- Interface & Import programs available.
Is there any api or interface tables can be used to create the payment against the invoices in r12?
Could you please help me to achive my above requirements.

  • API or interface table to create releases for a blanket purchase agreement

    Hi
I need to know if Oracle provides a standard API or interface table to create releases for a blanket purchase agreement.
I tried using the release_num field in PO_HEADERS_INTERFACE, PO_LINES_INTERFACE. But this is not working.
I'm able to create the blanket purchase agreement using the open interfaces, but not the releases.
    Regards,

    Hi Alister,
You can't create a release of a BPA through API, there is no such APIs provided by oracle.
Where as you can create a BPA by using API. You need to dump/poplulate data in PO_headers_interface & PO_Lines_intreface table.. Then use Purchasing Documents Open Interface API to create a BPA.
