Interfaces thru EDI

anybody helps about the interfaces..through EDI

Sudhir,
The EDI concept is intended to realize the sales and distribution process completely automatically with the help of electronically documents. These documents are sent from one customer to another, are processed mostly on the background and give a possibility to realize the sales process extremely efficiently.
If MM-customer would like to purchase the goods then he creates the IDOC of type ORDERS and send it to SD-customer. On the SD-side the IDOC is processed via the function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS and creates the sales order. As confirmation the SD-side can send to MM-side the Order-Response IDOC (function IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDERS). The MM-customer can every time send a change to the existing order, then on SD side the ORDCHG IDOC will be processed. It can change the order like in VA02. The creation of the invoice can be made via IDOC of message type INVOIC (function IDOC_OUTPUT_INVOIC).
So, the process can be realized completely automatically between SD and MM partners with the help of IDOCs: ORDERS, ORDCHG, ORDRSP, and INVOICE.
That's all concerning the SD-EDI.
Additional processes in SD, where EDI are used:
1) application of delivery schedules to the scheduling agreement: IDOC of type DELINS
2) creation of a delivery order to the scheduling agreement: IDOC of type DELORD
3) creation of external agent service delivery to scheduling agreement: IDOC of type EDLNOT
4) creation of credit advice / credit memo in the frames of self-billing: IDOCs of type GSVERF, SBWAP and for external invoice creation SBINV.
It is all processes which are realized in the SD module via EDI.
There is not so much Customizing for EDI. The most entries are required by EDI for the scheduling agreement processing (DELINS, EDLNOT, and SBINV). The Customizing of these processes is located in the Customizing of scheduling agreements: SPRO => Sales and Distribution => Sales => Sales Documents => Scheduling agreements with delivery schedules => Control EDI Inbound processing.
General EDI Customizing in SD is available under: SPRO => Sales and Distribution => Electronic Data Interchange => EDI messages =>...
Reward points pls.

Govind.

  • Information Messages while creation of the sales order thru EDI 850

    Hello All,
I am trying to create a Sales Order using EDI 850. When i am doing the same i am getting the information messages and the Sales Order is not created and the IDOC is in 51 status. I am using the ORDERS05 Idoc Type.
Following are some of the messages i get:  1. Oldest of open items overdue; 2. Document Complete 3. ISO Country code not found.
some are valid message and i have already fixed them. But when i create the sales order manually it gives me the sales order number even though i get the information messages.
Please let me know is there any setting that i have to make for EDI process to counter the information messages.
    Thank You,
    Suresh

whats the final message you got? that will give you what is the issue.
in you look at IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS, it does some basic validations first, and collect those errors in ERRTAB and set the status to 51. for manual reprocessing of the IDOC, it doesnt care about those pre validations, and goes directly into VA01 processing

  • Schedule line not update thru EDI (VA32/VA33)- DELINS X12-830

    Hi,
I am working in EDI X12-830 inbound process for message type DELINS. The inbound process is successfully posted but the problem is, it deletes the old Schedule line and add the current schedule and also I cant find any value in the schedule line tab, it only changes the value in the order quantity in Sales A Tab. My requirement is I need to update the new schedule line coming from the IDOC and keep old schedule line as it. And all the schedule line should updated in the Schedule line Tab of Item (VA32 or VA33).

  • Customer Forecast thru EDI

    Hello Gurus ,
We currently are planning to do a Consigment Scenario where the customer will be holding stock but its companies good unless he uses it
Q1)    Now how does Replishment/Forecasting work , like we are looking at the customer sending forecast via EDI to out system . How is this acheived , is there any documentation with respect to this .
    Regards,
    Nick

    Nick,
Customer consignment is a standard business scenario.  Try the solution described in Best Practices.
    119 – Customer Consignment Processing
There are a number of methods to support EDI processing; it depends upon what type of data your customers are capable of sending you, and optionally what type of middleware you will be using to receive the EDI.  In general, a common method is that the output of the middleware could be an SAP IDOC, which can then be processed into your SD and MM modules using ALE.
If you have never actually done such an implementation before, (customer consignment with EDI support) I suggest that you engage a resource to assist you who has experience in this area.  This is not a trivial implementation.

  • PO Output thru ALE & EDI ( Urgent)

    Hi Gurus...
I have a PO which needs to be transmitted to the vendor . If i want to accomplish this sending of PO to the vendor through ALE what are all the steps i need to look into .. If anyone is able to guide me that wud be great.
If in case of EDI , then i create one output messgae type, setup partner profile.
Can anyone also say me what is the Logical system in WE20 and what role it plays in setting up the distribution thru EDI & ALE.
    Regards
    Balaji

    Hi Charlie...
Thanks for the response..I am not totally new to this ALE Setup. Only these are the steps to be
practised. I am not able to understand the Step 3. I tried looking in SM59 its not clear for me.
Create Partner profile in Bd64 is the same as we do thru we20 or its different.. In detail will be really helpful..
How ALE is different from EDI ?? Both use the IDOCs right ?? Please explain .

  • Automatic PO creation through EDI

    Hi experts,
Please clarify me on the setup of creating PO's thru EDI in Purchasing automatically once PR is created in the system.
My client is more or less a trading company. They buy from vendor & sell to their customer, like third party order process.
So they create Sales Order & then PReq is created through ME57 & then they create PO through ME59.
They want to create PO's automatically thru EDI as this can speed up the process so as the vendor is also looking for creating SO in their BaaN system automatically.
I have configured the EDI setup for creating PO manually, meaning when I create manual PO the idoc xml file is ready for transfer.
But I am looking for the steps so that once they create the PReq, EDI should automatically create PO in SAP & the idoc should be ready for transfer.
Please suggest if this can be done thru any BAPI or BDC programs.
    Thanks in advance !
    Priyadarshini

    Hi Krishna,
This is for automatically creating normal PO thru PReq. Since I have setup the EDI configs for creating PO thru manual process  thru Me21N then idoc gets generated.
But my client is looking for the idocs to be generated automatically once the PReq are created thru Me57.
    is there a way?

In the program after the pur. req. created, find user exit and check the BAPI_PO_CREATE1. Configure the ALE setting for PO IDoc creation or XML creation..

  • IDoc Collection Scenario (IDoc to Mail Interface)

    Hi,
I am configuring IDoc to Mail Scenario using BPM.
I gone through following link for develop the scenario. I am still unable to complete the scenario.
    Collect Idoc
    /people/pooja.pandey/blog/2005/07/27/idocs-multiple-types-collection-in-bpm
I have done following steps in my configuration. Please correct my steps if i am wrong.
Source is Outbound Invoice IDoc (SAP System).
Target is Inbound EDI 810 format send as a email(Mail System).
    1. Create an Abstract Interface for Invoice IDoc(MI_IDoc_ABS)
    2. Create a Message Interface for EDI 810 for Inbound(MI_EDI810_IN)
    3. Create an Abstract Interface for EDI 810(MI_EDI810_ABS)
    4. Message Mapping between Outbound IDoc and Abstract Invoice IDoc.  I did this as per one of the above link. but did not understand the importance of this. On Message tab of Message Mapping, it shows the occurance as 1 for both source and target. I did not see the mention of this mapping in the BPM. Not sure if this was required?(MM_IDoc_ABS)
    5. Message mapping between Abstract Invoice IDoc to Abstract EDI 810. On the message tab of message mapping, occurance of Source message is changed to 0-unbounded and occurance of target is kept as 1.(MM_EDI810_ABS)
    6. Define Interface Mapping for above mappings
    a) IM_IDoc_ABS - Outbound Invoice IDoc + MI_IDoc_ABS
                                  MM_IDoc_ABS
    b) IM_EDI810_ABS - MI_IDoc_ABS + MI_EDI810_ABS
                                 MM_EDI810_ABS
    7. Create a BPM in Integration process. Define 3 Containers namely
    a) collectIDoc - Abstract Interface - MI_IDoc_ABS
    b) collectIDocList - Abstract Interface - MI_IDoc_ABS(Multiline)
    c) targetFile - Abstract Interface - MI_EDI810_ABS
    8. Create a Block and define a infinite while loop with Block. Condition to be defined as (1=1)
    9. Define a deadline block withing Block with duration = 5minutes
    10. Define a Correlation in Correlation editor as SNDPOR as a ID.
    11. Define a recieve step inside infinite while loop with following properties
    Message = collectIDoc
    Start Process = Checked
    Use Correlation = Correlation
    Activate Correlation = Correlation
    Correlation
    SNDPOR = collectIDoc./INVOIC02/IDOC/EDI_DC40/SNDPOR
    12. Define Container operation next to recieve step. properties are
    Target = collectIDocList
    Operation = Append
    expression = collectIDoc
    13. Outside the block, there is Transformation Step with following properties
    Interface Mapping = IM_EDI810_ABS
    Source message = collectIDocList
    Target message = targetFile
    Acknowledgement = None
    Reciever From = Send Context
Now the next step is to define Communication Channel and Receiver determination, Interface determination in the Integration Directory.
I don't know, how to go further on these steps.
In addition, could you please validate my above steps.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Gowri

    Hi Bhavesh,
Thanks for the directions and help. I appreciate your help. I understand the steps but i am unable to implement it.
I have few more questions on above answer.
    a) Do i have to create Sender Agreement?
    b) Do i have to import bmp process in Integration Process in Integration Directory?
The steps that i carried out in Integration Directory.
    1. Create a Scenario EDI810_Scenario
    2. Create a party called EDI810_Party and EDI810_Service.
    3. In EDI810_Service, Receiver tab has interfaces defined. MI_EDI_IN and MI_IDoc_ABS. In sender tab, it is INVOIC.INVOICE02 (IDoc) and MI_EDI810_ABS.
    4. Define a receiver communication channel CC_EDI810_Receiver(RFC).
    5. Business System for SAP is defined in Service without Party.
    6. Defined Sender communication channel CC_IDoc_Sender(IDoc)
    7. Create Interface Determination (First)
    Properties are
Sender Service : SAP Business System
    Sender Interface : INVOIC.INVOICE02 (IDoc)
    Sender Namespace : IDoc namespace
    Receiver Party : EDI810_Party
    Receiver Service : EDI810_Service
    Configured Inbound Interface is
    MI_IDoc_ABS and IM_IDoc_ABS
    8. Create Interface Determination Determination (Second)
    Properties are
Sender Service : BPM_IP (Bpm process is imported in Integratio directory)
    Sender Interface : MI_EDI810_ABS
    Receiver Party : EDI810_Party
    Receiver Service : EDI810_Service
    Configured Inbound Interface is
MI_EDI_IN. I do not see IM_EDI_ABS in the list. How do i get that.
    What step did i miss?
    Thanks,
    Gowri

  • IBD  BASED INVOICE THROUGH EDI

    DEAR EXPERTS,
I'M HAVING A SCENARIO WHEREIN MY CLIENT IS IMPORTING SOME GOODS AND THE GOODS ARE VERIFIED AT VENDOR'S SITE BY ONE OF OUR CLIENT'S PERSON AND THE PERSON CREATES A INBOUND DELIVERY IN SAP AND THEN THE GOODS ARE SHIPPED. BASED ON THE IBD MY CLIENT WANTS TO MAKE A PAYMENT OF 60% AND REMAINING 40% AFTER DOING THE GR. HERE THE ISSUE IS I'M NOT ABLE TO DO INVOICE POSTING BASED ON IBD OR WHEN I SELECT THE PO FOR POSTING THE INVOICE, i.e BEFORE DOING GR NEITHER THE QUANTITY OR VALUE COMES IN THE INVOICE WE NEED TO ENTER IT MANUALLY. THERE ARE 100'S OF MATERIAL IN A PO AND IT IS PRACTICALLY DIFFICULT TO ENTER THE QUANTITY AND VALUE MANUALLY. PLEASE DO SUGEST HOW WE CAN POST AN INVOICE BASED ON IBD.
ONE OF OUR FRIENDS IN FORUM SUGGESTED TO USE EDI FOR INVOICE. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN IN DETAIL HOW TO DO INVOICE THRU EDI BASED ON IBD.
    THANKS & REGARDS

    Hi Satyamurthy,
First you define an output type like "ZEDI". Maintain the Access sequences for it.Now insert this Output type in the output determination procedure. Now assign this procedure to the billing document type(This must have been done already). Now maintain the condition record for appropriate access with medium as "6" and date"4" and the language . And now go to "WE20" and select partner type "KU" and copy an already maintained one. Here you have to be very careful when selecting a message type and process code. Normally the message type would be "INVOIC". Partner  function should be "BP"(Same as what you have maintained in the record).Get the details from the business or development team about the port(WE21-- To Maintain a port. This will be done by Technical people). And insert basic type, select option  Transfer IDoc immediately and now go to Message control and  maintain the Application as"V3" ,Message type "ZEDI(or what ever outouy type you had chosen) and process code.(This is important. You can take abap'ers help while selecting this as this is associated to a function module. I think this should help you.

    Hi,
    EDI
    Electronic Data Interchange
Cross-company exchange of electronic data (for example business documents) between domestic and international business partners who use a variety of hardware, software, and communication services. The data involved is formatted according to predefined standards. In addition to this, SAP ALE technology is available for data exchange within a company.

EDI is nothing but Electronic data interchange. SAP will support EDI through Intermediate documents (IDOCS).
EDI (Electronic Document interchange) - EDI is the electronic exchange of business documents between the computer systems of business partners, using a standard format over a communication network.
EDI is also called paperless exchange.
    Advantages:
    Reduced Data entry errors
    Reduced processing time
Availabilty of data in electonic form
    Reduced paperwork
    Reduced Cost
    Reduced inventories and better planning
    Standard means of communications
    Better business process
    EDI has two process
    1. Outbound process
    2. Inbound process
    OP:
    1.Application document is created.
    2.IDOC is generated
3.IDoc is transferred from SAP to Operating system layer
4.Idoc is converted into EDI standards
5.Edi document is transmitted to the business partner
6.The Edi Subsystem report status to SAP
    IP:
    1.EDI transmission received
2.EDI document is converted into an IDOC
3.IDOC is transferred to the SAP layer
    4.The application document is created
5.The application document can be viewed.
    EDI FLOW :
Here is some thing which helps you and here the purchase order is taken as example too..
Electronic Data Interchange, or EDI, is the electronic exchange of business data. Using a standard format, EDI provides a method of transmitting business data from one computer to another, without the need to re-key data. This electronic link can result in more effective business transactions. With EDI, paper documents such as invoices can be replaced with electronic transmissions, thus time is saved, and the potential for error is minimized. Data can be exchanged at any time. Related business expenses, such as postage, printing, phone calls, and handling, can also be significantly reduced. EDI can aid in the support of manufacturing efforts, such as Just-in-Time and Third Party Warehousing, and financial efforts, such as Electronic Payments.
What parts of the business cycle can be supported by EDI?
Any business documents that are currently exchanged using paper can be converted to an EDI. Standards. Standards include ANSI X12 and XML/EDI are primarily used in the United States, while EDIFACT is used in Europe and Asia.
    How does EDI get started?
EDI gets started when one company contacts another expressing interest in trading business documents electronically using Electronic Data Interchange. The two companies must first determine each other's EDI capabilities. If you do not already know your EDI capabilities, we have prepared a questionnaire to help you determine them. If you are already EDI capable, we will coordinate with your technical staff to determine a testing plan. Upon completion of testing the EDI documents, the appropriate business personnel will set a production start date to begin the exchange of EDI business data. If you are not EDI capable, we recommend you first obtain a commitment from your upper management. Your company will need to allocate resources and capital for software, hardware, testing, possible programming, and training.
What is the flow of EDI?
The flow of EDI depends on the sophistication of your systems and your EDI software. If you have internal purchasing/order entry systems, you will need interface programs that can extract and insert data out of and into these systems. EDI programs that interface with your internal systems are preferred over software that requires re-keying of data. Embassy Software specializes in seemless interface between EDI and your back office systems. Using a purchase order as an example of a business document your customer would send that PO electronically (850) to you. It could be sent either through a VAN (Value Added Network) or through an FTP server. You would take that 850 and convert it either into and ODBC database, a flat file or XML document to be imported into your Order System with the use of EDI Software such as PassportXchange.. Using EDI communication software, which is part of the PassportXchange package you would pull down data at set intervals from the VAN or FTP. These documents are then processed through EDI translation software and output to our order entry system. Finally, an EDI document called a functional acknowledgment (997) is sent to your customer.
    regards,
    vineela.

  • ALE EDI /IDOC Documents needed

    Hi
    IDOC
    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
    How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

Go to Edit -> Set Release
Follow steps to create more number of segments
    Create IDOC Type
    Go to transaction code WE30
Enter the Object Name, select Basic type and click Create icon
Select the create new option and enter a description for your basic IDOC type and press enter
Select the IDOC Name and click Create icon
The system prompts us to enter a segment type and its attributes
Choose the appropriate values and press Enter
The system transfers the name of the segment type to the IDOC editor.
Follow these steps to add more number of segments to Parent or as Parent-child relation
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set release
    Create Message Type
    Go to transaction code WE81
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter
Click New Entries to create new Message Type
    Fill details
    Save it and go back
Assign Message Type to IDoc Type
    Go to transaction code WE82

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
    Try this..Hope this will help.
    >>>> SAP ALE & IDOC<<<<
    Steps to configuration(Basis) >>
    1. Create Logical System (LS) for each applicable ALE-enabled client

  • EDI 810 Inbound

    Hi,
i am trying to post an Inbound Idoc through message type:INVOIC.I have configured every thing and now able to post the Idoc by using WE19,Now i have file in application server with naming format OH_810_xxxxxxx.EDI. I am using the existing FILE port and have given the application server path in INDOUND FILE tab and the FM:EDI_PATH_CREATE_CLIENT_DOCNUM.
the issue is now the file is not picking....how to automate it like when ever the file comes in application server the idoc should be trigered.

    Hi
I am  working on the Invoice receipt thru EDI-IDoc from Vendors (EDI-810 INBOUND). I am getting certain errors.
    Error 1:
Customer , Vendor XXXXXXX not known
    Message no. FD110
    Error 2:
G/L Account XXXXXXX can only be posted internally.
    Message no. F5562
I have tried to trigger IDocs using basic types INVOIC01 and INVOIC02. But all in vain.
    Please rush your answer,
    Cheers
    Maruthi
