Interfacing to the Oracle Financials (v.1103) GL system

We currently require to develop a GL code interface with our existing telecom biller based on an Oracle Platform. This interface will directly work off the biller and create double entry records in the Oracle Financials.

Check your GL user guide under Journal Import. The table is gl_interface.

  • About the Oracle Financials for Italy patch

Everyone know something about the "Oracle Financials for Italy" , I want to know which patch I need to apply . And then after applied this patch, have some wrong need to apply other patch? ,can you give me a advice? Thanks a lot.

From the Software Investment Guide - see last sentence
Standby – In this method, one or more copies of a primary database are
maintained on a standby server(s). The sites in a standby configuration may be
dispersed geographically and are connected by Oracle Net Services. As the
primary database is modified, log information generated by the changes are
sent to the standby database(s) and subsequently applied to the standby
database. If the primary database fails, a standby database can be activated to
be the new primary database. Solutions like Oracle Data Guard (included with
Oracle Database EE) or customer-generated scripts can be used. In this
environment, both the primary and the standby databases must be fully
licensed. Additionally, the same metric must be used to license both
    databases.

  • Bounce the Oracle Financials DB

    Hi :
I wanted to bounce the oracle apps DB . I tried to connect to sql from the linux machine and it says
    ERROR:
ORA-09925: Unable to create audit trail file
    Linux Error: 13: Permission denied
    Additional information: 9925
ORA-09925: Unable to create audit trail file
    Any insights...

    Error: ORA-9925
Text: Unable to create audit trail file
Cause: ORACLE was not able to create the file being used to hold audit trail records.
Action: Check the UNIX error number for a possible operating system error.
    Explanation:
Oracle tries to create an audit file (in releases 7.1.3 onwards) even if auditing is not enabled. (C2 audit requirement). By default this information is written to $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/audit.
    Diagnosis:
    1) Ensure the directory $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/audit or the directory specified by the init.ora <parameter:AUDIT_FILE_DEST> exists, is writable by the oracle software owner and that the disk is not full.
    2) Check $ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle has permission of 6755. If not, then correct the permissions by executing this from the $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory:
    $ chmod 6755 oracle

  • Oracle financials end user responsibility in implementation project

Could any body tell me the Oracle financials end user responsibility in implementation project

SO what is the variance in the responsibilities for Functional consultant and Key user in implementation or support project.
    =========================================================================================
See in implementation project, the resource who is performing the implementation needs access to all the forms i.e. setup, transaction forms etc.
Also within an implementation project, there may be resources who are not associated with set, hence they responsibility will have only transactiion forms or inquiry forms.
    =======================================================================================================
In Support project, the following may be valid users associated with the functions:
the Invoice entry folk who keys in the invoice needs access to Invoice form only.
Similarly The invoice inquiry folk who needs to inquire the invoice will need to have access to Invoice Inquiry form only.
Similarly a person who is incharge of the overall control within a support project will have access to all the forms, functions, menu etc.
    =================================================================================
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Manipulating the Oracle GUI with another program

Hi, I have no idea where to post this question but if this is the right place, here is my problem
I create programs to automate tasks that users perform repeatedly on a day to day basis, a lot like recording a macro in Excel. I write these programs in VB, Java or AutoHotKey depending on the situation. So, my problem is I'm not sure how to interface with the Oracle GUI, I want to be able to activate a button by sending a command not actually having to click the button. I know there is a way to do it but I just seem to be having an issue finding out how. I have tried the following options with no success
    Java Ferret
    Java Monkey
Using Control commands (since it's a java applet there are no individual controls, the applet shows up as one whole control)
    Java Access Bridge
The reason I'm not just accessing the Database for the information is because I make these programs for Customer Service Reps, technicians, assemblers, etc. and they do not have rights to do these things. Could someone please help me out? I have been trying to figure this out forever and I am left with having to do image searches, I take a crop of the titlebar and save it to a GIF and then I search the screen for that picture to find out if the window is open, it's not very reliable.

Nope, this forum is for issues relating to the OTN forums/website itself.

It's a little difficult to tell as you haven't specified what Oracle GUI you are referring to (web forms, client forms etc.).

  • What is the best freeware to make a system image (full system drive bootable backup)

I have Windows 7 which already comes with backup software which has this function but there are other freeware software out there
What is your favorite freeware program to make this? Have you used it already to restore your system drive to a different drive?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi,
What's your requirement that the built-in utility is unable to achieve it?
System drive is where Windows resides. It won't care if you install an application on another drive.
If you want to include additional drives in the system image, you can manually create a system image.
Please refer to the following steps:
    1. Go to Backup and Restore interface, in the left pane, click Create A System Image.
    2. On the Where Do You Want To Save The Backup page, use the options provided to specify a backup location. Click Next.
    3. On the Which Drives Do You Want To Include In The Backup page, the computer's system drive is selected by default. You cannot change this selection, but you can add other drives to the backup image by selecting the related check boxes. Click Next to continue.
    4. Click Start Backup.
In addition, system image is a complete restoration. You could delete and reformat all disks on this computer to match the layout of the system image.
However, I wouldn't recommend you do that.

  • Is it possible to change the chart of accounts in Oracle Financials?

    Dear Colleagues,
Is it possible to change the chart of accounts in Oracle Financials?
    Thank you in advance.
    Andrey

It is not an easy change. Oracle typically recommends against it but sometimes company structure or processes change so much that you are forced to do it.
Take a look at http://www.vantagesolutions.com/media/SCOUG_May_2004.pdf as well as http://www.erpstuff.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6381.
If you google "change oracle chart of accounts", you will find some more hits as well. This is a big project.
If you other business reasons to do a reimplementation, then changing COA as part of that will be very easy.
For a lot of companies debating between reimplementation and upgrade, a need to change COA becomes the last straw in favor of reimplementation.
    Hope this helps,

  • Interfacing Accounting entries to Oracle Financials

    Dear Experts,
We are implementing an IS-Retail project for a client. The strange part of the implementation is that the client will still be using Oracle Financials as the Finance module and SAP FICO module will be just a facilitator.
Keeping this in mind we need to do the following:
    1) Send all accounting entries created in SAP related to Vendor invoices/credit memos to Oracle Financials.
    2) Send all accounting entries created in SAP related to Customer Billing / debit notes/credit notes to Oracle Financials.
    3) Send all accounting entries created in SAP related to Stock Movement to Oracle Financials.
For the purpose we have identified following IDocs:
ACLPAY01 [Posting in Accounting: Incoming Invoice] for 1) above
This is essentially an inbound IDoc but can be utilised as an outbound too by doing some sort of customizing. But we do not know exactly how as SAP provides 3 sets of function modules for the purpose.
    IDOC_OUTPUT_ACLPAY_CHECK
    IDOC_OUTPUT_ACLPAY_POST
    IDOC_OUTPUT_ACLPAY_PROJECT
We dont know exactly how to configure so that the outbound ACLPAY01 can be generated whenever a vendor invoice is created.
ACPJOU01 [Posting in Accounting from Materials Management] for 3) above.
This is also an inbound IDoc but can be utilised as an outbound too by doing some sort of customizing. As in case of ACLPAY01, SAP also provides 3 sets of function modules.
    IDOC_OUTPUT_ACPJMM_CHECK
    IDOC_OUTPUT_ACPJMM_POST
    IDOC_OUTPUT_ACPJMM_PROJECT
We dont know exactly how to configure so that the outbound ACPJOU01 can be generated whenever there is a stock movement.
This has been hinted in this link http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/6c/089d0656c511d18ef20000e8366fc2/content.htm
We could not identify any outbound IDoc for the purpose of 2) above.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.
