  • Interference Sound!?

Im not sure if this problem (interference sound) is connected to my creative soundcard. The sound port in the front panel of my computer is where this sound is coming from. Does anyone else have this same problem?
    Please Answer

With my warranty out in a matter of weeks I'll definitely head to a Genius bar and see what they say.
A friend of mine has a similar problem on his phone and it much more frequent/severe than mine. His iPhone is out of warranty so he's done nothing about it. With mine being in warranty at least I do have an option but it is a bit of a drive just to get there.
I've got exams between now and the 16th December so I'll have to hold of until the 17th at the earliest - 10days before my warranty runs out!!
If anyone has any suggestions or on how they managed to resolve this themself then that would be appreciated. Until then, I'll report back after my trip to the Genius bar.

  • Static / Interference sound

I've been having issues with iTunes on my computer for the past few weeks. When I have music playing, I'm also getting this static, interference-like sound, like you might hear on a radio when you have a bad signal. My first thought was that the speakers were the problem, but after trying three different sets of speakers, the problem remained. Plus, when I play music through any other type of media player, it sounds perfectly fine. It's only when I'm playing something through iTunes that this sound occurs. It happens whether I'm playing stuff from my music library, directly from my iPod, or even through any of the radio channels.
I've tried re-installing iTunes, but to no avail. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Any suggestions?

I've not personally had this problem, but you might try uninstalling/reinstalling or updating your quicktime. Another thing you might try is updating your sound drivers and other programs and hardware. If you have not installed a sound card, or your PC had a sound card installed in it when you bought it, goto www,dell.com and download the latest updates for any software and hardware you have,

  • For two days I have been getting intermitant interference sounding like a radio program with the first day in Spanish.

I have 7.0.1 and Lion installed on a Mac book pro. The first day Spanish programing just started playing with no one at the computer. The second day the interference was in English having to quit Firefox to get it to stop.
I rebooted and cleaned the system but it has reoccurred. I have used iGoogle as my default homepage flawlessly for 2 years with this only occurring after I sign into iGoogle from the Google search page.
This machine is used for business only and not exposed elsewhere. Any thoughts before I remove and reinstall?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

The sound is like a card hitting a bicycle spoke, though quite a bit softer.
I can hear what your saying about the card sound - my noise is very soft-

  • I am getting interference on my Ipod touch on music that I sync from down loaded CDs to ITunes on my PC.  The music is clear when I play it on my PC but has the interference on the Ipod.  This just started recently.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

I am getting interference (scratching sound) on my Ipod touch on music that I sync from downloaded CDs to ITunes on my PC. The music is clear when I play it on my PC but has the interference on the Ipod.  This just started recently.  Any thoughts?

Thank you so much for the reply.  I does not appear to be the headphones because I get the same interference sound from my Ihome radio when I dock by Ipod on it as well as when I connect the Ipod to the radio connection in the car.  I have isolated the issue to the Ipod because these same tunes play without interference on my PC so something is happening in the sync process.

  • Best way to eliminate or at least lessen a cell phone interference noise in a video

We shot an interview the other day and even though we normally remember to tell people to turn off their cell phones, we forgot that day. Right in the middle of a good response we hear the annoying sound that cell phones cause with wireless mics. It only lasts a few seconds, but really takes away from what the interviewee is saying. Is there a way to lessen that noise or even get rid of it altogether?
    Thanks.

This might work for you, depending on how intrusive the interference sound is, and what the other frequencies in the audio file are doing.

  • Phone 4 and Shure SE530 causing interference

    Hi,
I've been using my Shure SE530 headphones and an iPhone 3GS and iPod Nano for years now with now problems. I recently upgraded to an iPhone 4 and instantly noticed a little interference sound.
As I plug the headphones into an iPhone 4 I can hear a little cracking noise for a few seconds - after the plug is seated. When I'm on the train and we pass another train at speed I hear the cracking noise again.
I've tried my SE530's with other people's iPhone 4's and have the same problem. If I try any other head phones, no problems. If I try my SE530's with any other audio device, no problem.
To the best of my knowledge this is only a problem with an iPhone 4 and my SE530's. Unfortunately I don't know anyone else with SE530's so I can't test theirs.
Has anyone else noticed this ?

This didn't happen by itself. This means VoiceOver is enabled which must be manually enabled at Settings > General > Accessibility.
You can turn this off on the computer used for syncing the iPhone.
With the iPhone connected to iTunes, under the Summary tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, at the bottom select Configure Universal Access.
Select Neither for "Seeing" and select OK.

  • Strange, Frequent electronic sounds after waking iMac from sleep.

Since i began syncing my iPhone (8GB) V.1.0.2 to my 20" 2.4Ghz iMac, a strange electronic, interference sound come from the computer immediately after I wake it from sleep.
The sound starts as the Comp awakens and continues off and on frequently for about 5-10 minutes. After that times passes, the strange sound ceases temporarily. Once 10 minutes have passed the time interval between the electrical interference sound is 10 minutes or so. I have the same desktop speakers plugged into the audio out jack that I have for a month now.
The odd thing is I can MUTE the sounds from the keyboard button and the sound continues regardless. I believe the sound is coming from the built in speakers rather than the external speakers.
Also, this problem crept up before the iMac update today.
I tried searching the forums here but I didn't turn anything up. can anyone suggest a solution?

I just noticed that the closer my iPhone is to the speakers in my Intel iMac or my home theaters speakers causes a frequent audible interference. Is this a known issue with AT&T's GSM or is it something unique to the iPhone?

  • Sounds Like Crap

I've been beginning to wonder what GB's real purpose is... I've recently purchased a Snowball Microphone $105.00 to go with GB because my band and I were simply utilizing the built-in microphone on my MacPro -- ugh, not good at all. It's much better now, but still not great quality. Sounds like the recording was out of a "garage". Obviously, I'm getting way too much interference (sound bouncing off of walls, windows, everything). What exactly am I supposed to do?? Having us individually record our parts seems like a royal pain and I only have one microphone and have been recording tracks on just one take (all together, not separately).
Also, I've been recording some simple acoustic stuff (guitars on two tracks and vocals on two tracks -- it sounds horrible, once I add in vocals, it completely screws up the overall sound -- what's the deal with that?? It's not clean, just annoying. If anything sounds good, it should be the vocals considering I have a $105 microphone plugged directly into my Mac.
Do I need to plug all instruments into the mac (at least logical ones, bass/electric/acoustic guitars? What exactly do I purchase for that, what kind of chord works with MacPro laptops?
I apologize as this is getting way too long for just a few questions, but I've become very frustrated with GB. I know there's a way to make my music sound professional and not a recording from a "garage" -- per say.
If anyone could answer all of my questions at your convenience, I would be very greatful.
    Thanks so much!

Certainly GB is not the culprit in your case!
    - Putting one mic in front of a band will always sound like crap. For a good vocal track, e.g., the singer has to be close to the mic, and that is true for picking up guitar apms too. In order to put each instrument and voice on their own channel, you either need a multi-channel interface and several mics (and good acoustic isolation so the tracks don't bleed into each other), or you'll have to record them one at a time. You could use the low quality one-mic recording as a "base" track, let everyone play their part over it, and erase the base track in the end. Don't expect a good drum sound with one mic.
For your horrible screw-up problem with the multi-track recording, you'll have to tell us more: Do the vocals on their own sound bad? Do you have clipping? If you have clean recordings on your tracks, GB doesn't have a problem to mix them.

  • IPhone interference messing up other iPod weirdly.

Ok, I'm used to the interference with the iPhone on speakers around the house and car... And I can deal with it..
But its weird, I was listening to my regular 60 Gb Video Ipod just now thru headphones... The iPhone was about a foot away, and I heard the interference sound on the headphones, but as the buzzing kicked in, i looked at the iPod and the volume indicator started fluctuating up & down and eventually blasted the volume in the earphones (ouch!)...
I didn't expect that the interference would affect the controls of the iPod.. but it did... It happened in the car the other day (where the volume control went out of control), but I didn't make the connection as the iPhone wasn't visible - altho it was nearby in my jacket pocket (less than 2 feet away)
Anyone else notice this? I'm kinda glad theres an immediate cause and that my Video iPod isn't crapping out like I thought it was...

Nextel is real bad due to the technology being used.
As for FCC, if you read all your electronic devices, they all have to say they will accept interference. With most cell technology, it usually just impacts speakers. Nextel however the way it works has a lot more stuff going on with them and cause more. I am surprised at how much the iPhone makes though as the Edge (freqency, etc) network really shouldn't cause all that much.

  • G580 Poor Sound

    Hi
I just installed an application caled camtasia on my g580, which is is video making tool. I done a few tests of the sound playback of my recording and the sound is really hissy and muffled like speaking into a cup. I tried increasing the system sound and lowering the microphone sound, which helped a little bit but not much. I still get the hissing interference sound in the background.
I used camtasia on my old XP HP laptop and never had this problem.
Any thoughts on proper sound settings I can use or changes I can make to fix this?
    Thanks
    Andrew

No it is the same both headset on and when unplugged.
I have two microhpone devices listed in the properties. The default one says manufacturer is Microsoft so I am guessing that it is the built in microphone. If I mute the microphone and try speaking with my headphones on then nothing gets recorded, same with if I remove my microphone headset.
I take it if you plug in a mic then this is what directs the sound through the system but the main microphone is still the default device?
Also wondering why I do not have realtek showing up anywhere. I have realtek folder in my program files. Seen a thread here where no sound problem was fixed by doing some tweaking in realtek advanced control panel wherever that is:

  • MacBook Pro 13" early 2015 - buzzing sound when SSD being accessed

I've just received a new 13" MacBook Pro with retina display (force touch trackpad etc). When the (1TB) SSD is being accessed there is an electronic buzzing interference sound, not unlike the sound that a HDD makes when being accessed. This didn't happen on my MacBook Air which was silent. Can anyone explain this? I would expect the Mac to be silent apart from the fan but this is unusual. It's not that loud but it seems to me to be defective. I can send the Mac back for a replacement (14 day return) but will the replacement have the same issue - is it expected?
Apple support chat said it doesn't sound right FWIW but they couldn't offer an explanation

    Same here (Early 2015 / 256GB SSD /  i5 2,9GHz) .
Being in a very quiet room there is definitely some noise coming from the "W" / "E" keyboard area,
when accessing (especially writing on) the SSD but it's also noticeable when scrolling through webpages.
After some googling (there a lot of people with the same "problem") I think that it isn't some sort of defect.
MacBook Pro Retinas apparently tend to produce this very faint so called "coil (whine) noise" coming from inductors inside of it
trying to regulate high voltages. I think that's the tradeoff having such ultra fast SSDs.
(I'm getting around 1200 Write and 1300 Read which is just insane!)
It doesn't bother me that much though, I was just wondering because I couldn't figure out what part the noise is coming from
since there are no moving parts in the MacBook Pros with Retina Display (except for the fan of course).
I won't return my MacBook just to get another one with the same issue (which happened to some of the people)
and apart from this mysterious, faint noise it's perfect.

  • Crackle/Popping Sound X-FI Fi

I bought a new motherboard today from intel, the problem is with the layers of conductors on the motherboard, this one has 4, which does not support overclocking. The X-fi card works with it with no interference sounds or anything. This shows that this might be a problem with the Motherboard or Chipset manufacture.Message Edited by keiluko on 04-2-2008 05:39 PM

The soundcard should not be affected by the motherboard. it is Creative's fault for being very strict in how the card works thus making it sound terrible on motherboards that don't meet the official pci specs.

  • Mid-2011 imac and original apogee duet. . .no likey each other?

So I recently got a mid-2011 Imac with Mountain Lion.   Years ago I got an Apogee duet, a mac-specific firewire (400)-based audio interface for audio recording.    I'd been using it with my 2008 imac just fine.  When I hooked it up to this new one (today was the first time), I discovered that at reasonable input recording levels, I was getting some very nasty static-y/interference sounding mess.   It's got to be the imac/apogee combo because I had all the audio stuff turned off and unplugged. I was simply monitoring the input signal via Adobe Audition.     If you think it was noisy BECAUSE nothing was plugged in, it was just as noisy with a Sennheiser G2 wireless lav hooked up.      I have tried going directly from the duet to the computer with a firewire 400 to 800 cable.  I have the newest update for the Apogee/Maestro software for Mountain Lion.    Anyone have experience with this stuff?  Thanks.

    Hello,
    Long shot, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.
