Interlacing remains after pulldown removal

Using Cinema Tools 3.1.2.
I am attempting to remove the pulldown after transfer from film to video. All seems to have gone well, except... in the resulting file, there is now 1 interlaced frame every 4 frames. I used the default RevTel settings: F1-F2, New File, Conform to 24.0 (Yes Std Upper/Lower), Fields: AA/Style 1.
Does this sound familiar? What am I doing wrong here? Thanks for any assistance.

Hi cgtyoder,
Hope this isn't too late, I just saw your post. What you need to do is split the media file in two, either by digitizing separately or using media manager with the copy feature after making subclips, and do a reverse TK on them separately. If you don't have burned in timecode on the transfer (I assume you don't), you'll have to detect which is your A frame by looking at the interlacing pattern. To use the settings you have, your cadence should be (where C stands for clean frame a D stands for dirty frame):
C (A frame)
C
D
D
C
C (A frame)
C
D
D
C
C (A frame)
C
etc.
Let me know if you need more details.

  • Contextual menu items remain after Bitcasa removal - why?

    Hello there.
I'm looking for a solution of Bitcasa context menu items that won't go away. After removing the app they still appear in the Finder context menus. I already searched the usual places like Keyboard Shortcuts, Services, etc. but couldn't find any entry that explains why it is still there.
Anyone got an idea why I can't remove it?

Okay. You got me on the wrong foot there. Sorry for being touchy.
I contacted the Bitcasa support and did everything they wrote on their support pages and more. I even got terminal commands from them to remove everything Bitcasa manually:
    sudo rm -rf /Applications/Bitcasa.app
    rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/com.bitcasa.*
    rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/com.Bitcasa.*
    rm -f /Users/*/Library/Preferences/com.bitcasa.*
    rm -f /Users/*/Library/Preferences/com.Bitcasa.*
    rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.bitcasa.*
    rm -r ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.bitcasa.Bitcasa.plist
    rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.bitcasa.*
The problem seems to be that I actually removed everything identifiable as part of Bitcasa code. And that's the only reason I cant't get rid of this darn menu. I'm not a programmer but I usually know my way around when it comes to apps. What puzzles me is the fact that there seems to no source for this contextual menu item.
    Is that even possible?

  • Audio goes missing after advanced pulldown removal

Anybody come across this? I can't find anything in the forum about it.
I shot 24pAdvanced on my DVX-100A. Captured everything as 29.97 NTSC DV in 20 min segments. I do a DV Start/Stop Detect to get markers placed, then do an advanced pulldown removal and edit on 23.98 timeline. I've got about 100 hours of footage, and have been going along quite smoothly on about 80 of those hours.
Recently however, some clips mysteriously lose their audio after the pulldown removal! Both audio tracks are still there, but they are flatlined. All except for the first 4 or 5 seconds actually. That much audio is present. Then the waveforms show it just flatline. Recapturing the tape replaces the audio, but then it disappears after the pulldown again!
    Any thoughts would be welcome

  • Quicken 07 remains after Archive and Install?

Will the Quicken 07 application AND all my accounts remain after doing Archive and Install? I mean, will they be up and ready to use or need to be located in a folder and re-installed?

On an "Archive and Install", you have the option to save user data and network settings. This will copy all your user data into the home directory on the new install, and make the install process as seamless as possible. Applications are copied over as well, I believe, but if they're not they are left in the "Previous System" folder and you can copy them over manually and test them out. I believe "Quicken" is one of those applications where you just drag it to the applications folder to install it. As such, it should migrate to the new system easily and be up and running without the need to reinstall it. Most apps that require reinstalls are those that put extensions and plug-ins into the system folder (Adobe CS3, for example). Some things to keep in mind:
Corrupt preference files can cause applications to run funny or not at all. If an app doesnt behave normally then remove the preference file for that application from your user library. Corrupt preference files can happen during an install, so its good to be aware of the possibility they might crop up.
In a similar manner as corrupt preference files, sometimes the install process can change the permissions on files and folders, which will result in the same funky behavior. Using Disk utility to fix permissions BEFORE and AFTER the install will greatly reduce the probability of this being an issue.

  • Cluster node fails after testing removing both interconnects in a two node

    Hi,
cluster node panics and fails to join cluster after testing removing both interconnects in a two node cluster. cluster is up on one node , but the panic'ed node fails to rejoin cluster saying no sufficient quorum yet and both clinterconn failed (even after conencting the interconn). Quorum device used is a shared disk.
    Is this a bug?
    Any workaround or solution?
    Cluster is 3.2 SPARC
    Thanking you
    Ushas Symon

Sounds like a networking problem to me. If the failed node genuinely can't communicate with the remaining node then it will not be allowed to join the cluster, hence the quorum message. I would suspect either:
    * Misconnected cables
    * A switch that has block or disabled the port
    * A failed auto-negotiation
This is of course without knowing anything about what your network infrastructure actually is!

  • 30 to 24 frames, pulldown removal issue

I'm working at this animation place. The animators work with the live footage that comes in to composite their animations. So I have to convert each shot from 30 to 24 fps (it comes in at 29.97)
So far the workflow has been export each scene using the current settings of 29.97 10 bit uncompressed non drop.
bring that qt into after effects.
interpret footage > conform to 30 fps > guess pulldown removal (WWSSW) then i'd render out a targa sequence at 24 frames, and everything works out nicely.
    until,
I'm working on a sequence that when exported to QT
shows some scenes with split frames on EVERY frame.
so the remove pulldown feature in AE fails because of this.
I then discover that some of the scenes in question
have time remapping applied to them (frames blended).
Does anyone have a fix for how to handle footage with
time-remapping applied, so it exports with proper 3:2 pulldown?

Cinema Tools can remove the pulldown in one step from the 29.97 files. I doubt this will work right at all with time remapped clips though, so you need to go back to the originals, then time remap them back after they've had their pulldown removed I'd think.
You are right about the clips... need to do them one at a time. I suppose you could try a sequence, but the result would end up being one long clip... might not want that?

  • Lightroom 2 save develop settings after folder remove?

I just upgraded to Lightroom 2 and notice that it doesn't save images' develop settings after I remove the folder from the library. So next time I reimport that folder, my develop settings previously applied to those images are gone! Anyway to fix this?

    >Frankly, I don't quite understand what's going on.
    Neither do I. x.x
Here is an example of what's going on.
    I import a photo.
I edit that photo in Dev Module such as recovery, clarity and noise reduction(Luminance).
As I opted for "automatically write changes into XMP", now I've got those changes in the XMP sidecar file as well as in the Lightroom 2 Catalog.lrcat.
At the same time, I have now 4 lines of History including 'Import'(Highlight Recovery, Clarity, Luminance Smoothing)
Quite normal and no problem until here.
When I open that photo several days later, I suddenly have that little up-arrow icon(meaning "metadata was changed externally").
And the photo is like the one I imported without three changes I made above.
Naturally, in History, there is only one line, 'Import'.
    Now I have two option,
    1. "import Settings from Disk"
    2. "Overwrite Settings"
If I chose 1, I have my edited photo back with 3 changes above. It's from XMP (or Catalog), I guess. However, 3 lines of changes in History disappear and only 'Import from metadata' and 'import(date and time) remain. So I can't really use history to see what exactly I've done with that photo. (Well I still can see each change with the right side panel but it's not as quick and convenient as History.
If I chose 2, of course, I lose both my edited photo and 3 lines of History. It's just as if I imported from my Compact Flash.

  • ADVANCED PULLDOWN REMOVAL - Problem with 60 Hours of Material

After I capture about 60 hours of material and worked for the past 3 months in a 90 minutes documentary I realized that the material was shoot in 24P advanced and was not captured in advanced pulldown removal mode! See [[Replace your Sync information]] but read the cautions carefully.
    * also see [[firefox Sync is not working]]
It is always a useful precaution to make manual bookmarks backups
    * see [[Backing up and restoring bookmarks]]
The above article also explains about the autobookmark backups that firefox generates, but be sure to make manual backups as you work, it is very easy to overwrite the wrong set of backups.
I am not entirely certain what firefox is doing in your case, perhaps the synced Netbook does not have the expected set of bookmarks on it.
Presumably sync may be uninstalled or disabled like any other add-on

Acrobat 10 Pro: Unable to Install Updates After Virus Removed: Receive Error 1310 ?
Attempted to re-install the original Adobe Acrobat 10 Pro from the disk provided with the purchase; and it has put me in a trial; and is requesting that I purchase the software I already paid for, two years ago.

You can try a repair (may need to go to Control Panel>Programs & Features). A reinstall is a last resort, but if you go there be sure to uninstall from the control panel, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, and remove any part left of the Acrobat folder. Then reboot as the administrator and reinstall. Be sure to disable antivirus during the install.

  • Podcast headers remain after deleting usnig the swip method added in 2.2

I have a 2nd gen iPod Touch with firmware 2.2 and I am able to delete podcasts with the swip method and it says it deletes them and they are removed from the list.
The problem is that if I shut the touch off and turn it back on, all of the podcasts I deleted are back in the list. They are still deleted because if I try to open one I get an error. It is really annoying that they reappear in the list even though they are deleted. I have to use iTunes to completely remove them from the list.
Anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for it?
    Thanks

That is strange and beyond me then. All I know is that after 2.2 arrived I stopped downloading podcasts on my computer and syncing to my Ipod and instead downloaded direct to my Touch via Wifi. At the time, I had some podcasts on my Touch that originated via a previous computer sync. It was these Podcasts that reappeared as what I called "phantom" podcasts after deleting directly on the Touch and powering down and then restarting.
As I said, they kept reappearing no matter how often I deleted, however after I removed them from my computer resident iTunes and then resync'd the Touch they stopped reappearing.
I also note that if you have any Wifi direct podcasts on your Touch and you sync it with iTunes, it will automatically transfer these podcasts to your computer resident iTunes and I found that these titles would also continue to reappear after being deleted on the Touch until again they were deleted from the computer resident iTunes and resync'd with Touch.
So, all I can say is since I have adopted this processure I have no more phantom podcast titles reappearing after powerdown.

  • How to view section after we remove it?

    Hi All,
How to view section after we remove it?
When we add a variable to create a section it shows up.
Now when I removed the section just to not show on the report.
I right click and click remove and in the next pop up screen select NO.
Now I have the section in there but not showing in the report, but when I view in the data tab and map tab it shows up..
My question now if I want to put in the section back in the report, how can I do that..
    Thanks in advance.
    Acer_bo.

    Hi Acer_Bo,
Select the Section and drag the object that you removed and put it at the top of the data block within the section. The Section is just physically removed not Logically.
By viewing the data block you can't figure out on which Object the Section is based,You can see this using by Section properties i.e. under General-> Name Property.
    I Hope this Helps...
    Thanks...

  • Why does the old iphoto library still remain after the upgrade? Takes up HUGE space on my laptop

Why does the old iphoto library still remain after the upgrade? Takes up HUGE space on my laptop

Why does the old iphoto library still remain after the upgrade? Takes up HUGE space on my laptop
Actually, it only looks like it takes up additional space. The file size shown is misleading.  When you migrate an iPhoto library to Photos, both libraries will show the media files using hard links. The actual file content of the image files and videos is shared by hard links:
See this linked document:   Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support
You will gain no free storage at all by deleting either the iPhoto Library or the Photos library.  So keep both libraries until you are very sure, that Photos is working well  on your Mac and your iPhoto library has been migrated correctly. Also, check, if you like the workflow in Photos. It is very different from iPhoto and some iPhoto features are not supported.
There will be no easy way back to iPhoto, if you delete your iPhoto library or the iPhoto application. Apple does not sell it any more.
