Interlacing/ Scan Lines on iPhone 4S Screen + Yellow tint!

Hi everyone I bought my 64gb IPhone last week and noticed that I have faint interlacing lines on my screen. My serial starts with c39 and I am extremely dissatisfied. I had my iPhone 4 replaced last year and the replacement had this issue as well. I am so sick of Apples qc lately. You can really notice the issue when the display is showing a light grey bg and also the iMovie and Facebook icons. Please respond if you are experiencing this issue. I also have the yellow tinted screen. What is going on Apple?

I have the some issue with you.I found this interlacing issue with my last Iphone4 in july 2011,and then got  2 replaced iphones having the same problem.when I get my new iphone4S these days,I found the same issue, although its Not easy to observe, and MUCH BETTER then my last iphone4,but its defintely there,I can also notice it!

and then save it into your camera roll. if you open it your iphone display will flash/flick very bad . (or when you push the "delete"button)you will notice it easier when you set that image as wallpaper and lock screen.
Let me know what happened,thanks.

  • Scan lines on IPhone 4S ??

Just noticed that there are what appears to be scan lines on my 4s screen in addition to the yellow tint. The scan lines are visible on light backgrounds and on the keyboard especially in landscape. They appear as if there are tiny dots on the screen. They are not dead pixels. My serial starts with c39. This screen is garbage!!

    Same here.Running iOS 5.1.1.First 2 months I didn't notice this lines,but after 2 months I start see this lines.My serial stars c39 too.

  • Horizontal Interlaced Scanning Lines in iDVD6

I can confirm some help I got on this forum for a problem I found between Final Cut and iDVD 6.
I imported my Sony Cam DV into Final Cut Express 2.0.3. I cut the video then exported the video as a self contained QuickTime movie. When I burned a DVD, with iDVD6, it looked like crap.
Every horizontal movement of the camera or subject gave me bad interlaced scan lines tearing the borders of all images. I tried exporting again using the QT settings compression h.264. Again I got the scan lines on all horizontal action. Another coaster!
The problem only went away when I set the video export setting to DVDPRO50-NTSC.
I didn't have this problem before on iDVD3. I guess 6 is new and improved. Ha Ha.

iDVD is always the happiest with DV video that's what it is designed for. A "self contained QuickTime movie" may - or may not - be that format.

'Burn' to a disk image first and check the image out with Apple's DVD Player application BEFORE burning the image to writable media with Apple's Disk Utility application. Save your self a disc or two.

  • Iphone 4s (Screen yellow) returned it

Took the phone out of the box, immediately noticed the yellow tint all over the screen. I called apple they said not sure but here have a free case. I told them I don't need a case, I need a screen that is properly designed/fabricated. After talking to apple for half an hour and being offered a vareity of accessories for inconenience, I took it to the apple store and got my money back.

  • Will I get my iPhone replaced for yellow tinting problem

If you think there is a problem with the screen, try making a reservation with a Genius.

  • All Refurbished and Replacement iPhone 4 are yellow tinted

Has anyone seen one that isnt? Ive seen 8 now and all are yellow. at the SF apple store and Cupertino...

I keep going back, but every replacement is yellow tinted too...do i keep asking to see more and more out of the black boxes???
Here is a suggestion. When you do go to the apple store. Upon receiving a replacement phone, don't just leave the store. Ask them that you want to check the phone before you leave to make sure you want a good working phone before leaving.
That is what I did when I got my replacment. In front of the Genius, I asked him that I'm going to check the phone carefully before heading out to ensure that all is working properly that I get no yellow tint, and that if one thing fails that I have the right to get it exhanged again on the spot. The genius that I talked to was really nice so he agreed that he would let me inspect the phone.
Keep in mind that all replacement phone comes in plain black box.

  • Transparent diagonal line on iPhone 6 screen after contact with water

I had recently dropped my phone in water on accident and now there's a transparent, diagonal line across the bottom right part of the screen. When the phone is off, I can't see the line but only when it's on. After a while, some of it starts to fade away but, it's never completely gone. I'm not too sure what I should do to fix this, could anyone help? I have an iPhone 6. Thanks and sorry, I'm new to this. I'm not sure what category to put this under

You really need to take it to the Apple Store and have them take a look at it. We cannot diagnose the extent of water damage that may or may not have been done over the internet....
    Sorry,

  • Two white lines down Iphone 5 screen

I dropped my Iphone 6 months ago and cracked the top of the screen. I didn't get it repaired as phone was working as normal until two days ago whn I noticed two white vertical lines down my screen and the phone started playing up (going onto stuff I have not pressed). Is there any reason for this or any solutions?

If it's under warranty and hasn't been physically damaged, jailbroken, illegally unlocked, etc. They will replace it with an identical phone.

  • Flickering/Static Line on iphone 4 screen!

    Hi guys
I was just after a bit of advice if I may...
I bought my brand new iphone 4 barely 2 weeks ago, a few mere hours after switching it on I have this flickering (horizontal) white line appearing on the same part of the screen, at first I thought it may be a fluke but it comes and goes during the day (every day!)  Sometimes it flickers for a few seconds, other times it is static for a day/hours.  I packaged my phone off to apple and received it back this morning (apparantly they could not diagnose the problem).  Anyway low and behold an hour after turning it on this darn line re-appears then disappears etc...!!
Would it be worth me going to a genius bar to see what they can do for me?  (I have video evidence on my ipod)  Is it possible for me to get a replacement?
I'm really not sure what do for my next step?
Thanks in advance everyone  -  Geri.

Your warranty is for 1 year, so you are definitely covered by the first year warranty. The 90 days is just for free technical support.
Since this sounds like a hardware problem, you will need to contact Apple about it. If you have access to an Apple Store, make an appointment at the genius bar so you can show them the line. If not, call Apple and tell them you have a hardware problem and ask them if there is perhaps an AASP close to you who could have a look at it.
It is not too late to get 3 year Applecare--if you do, you will have not only a total of 3 years warranty, but 3 years of free tech support as well.
    Good luck!

  • Thin blue line on Iphone 5 screen

Was wondering if anybody has any ideas as to why I would have a very thin blue line, running about three quarters of the way up my screen, about half a cm from the left. It's only noticable when the screen has a white background. Otherwise the phone is in perfect working order and is just over a year old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there, SuePop.
The following Knowledge Base article gives us a few recommendations for troubleshooting issues with your display:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
    Particularly:
    Display image issues
This can include bright or dark pixels, lines in video, or sections of video missing.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Verify the issue is not content related, by viewing different content.
If the image is too dark, adjust the brightness. In General Settings choose Brightness and Wallpaperand slide the slider.
If the issue persists, there are recommendations at the end of the article as well:
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Horizontal lines on iphone 4s screen

I bought a 4s phone before two weeks and i have horizontal lines on the screen, any ody can help me on what to do?

basics from the User Guide are restart, reset, restore (first from backup, then as new).  Have these been tried?
If these have been tried and the problem persists, bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

  • Strange lines on iPhone 4 screen

Basically, I grabbed my phone this morning and the screen was strange. Colour saturation was off, and it looked very low-resolution. Then a few moments later, a whole bunch of white and multi-coloured bars appeared on the screen. I can still operate the phone, only I have no visual representation of what I'm pressing; thus I'm going in blind. Looking to fix this issue as soon as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards.

    RESTART
To restart your iOS Device, first turn the device off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and device will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn the device on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears and then let go of the button and wait for the device to turn back on.
Is the device not responding? To reset device, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the slider and let go of both buttons and wait for the device to restart.  No data will be lost.
If nothing changes make an appointment at an Apple store and have the phone assessed

  • Brand New MBP 13" - Dim Screen/Yellow Tint

I purchased a MBP 13" yesterday and immediately noticed the display appeared quite dim and had a yellowish-tint to the entire screen. I am aware that in previous years, certain Apple Products had the same problem and I was wondering if there is a fix that I can apply or whether I should simply opt for a new MBP?
Also, the purchase was made through Amazon and was wondering if anyone knows if I can make the return/service through the Apple Store?
    Much thanks,
    A.Rim

I believe there's a color calibration tool in Applications/Utilities. See if it can help you. It is considered that for a screen to display colors as close to "normal" as possible, the DeltaE measurement should be at or under 3.
