Last Thursday, we were excited to announce the PM23c, a new 2”mid-range industrial printing solution and an extension of Intermec’s PM43 and PM43c printers.

I like my Canon Pixma MX850. It is a network all-in-one, so it will work with any router, and it scans through the network as well as prints. The only slight hitch in setup is that it needs an initial USB connection to set up the network connection, but there has been no problems since then. I prefer a network printer to a USB printer, because it is made to work natively with a network connection, and you do not need to worry about compatibility with the print server, such as the one built into the Airport Express.
The only problem with it is that the price keeps going down since I bought it! However, you can save yourself a lot of grief if you stop shopping after you buy something.

Printing problems with new printer

I printed out two different InDesign documents last week with my ailing Epson R260 inkjet printer and everything printed fine (with the exception of the printer head problems with the R260).
I purchased and installed a new Epson Artisan 50 (which is supposedly the successor to the R260) today, and when I print out the same documents the images and text are reduced in size by about 1/3 and part of the page is not printing. I have made no changes to the InDesign files so I don't understand why I am having this problem. Hope someone can help.

From ID's print dialog, have you entered the Artisan's Advanced Features (the Setup button at the botton of the Print dialog). The doc could be calling up info from the last printers features.
Also, the drivers on that CD could be old, always check for Driver Updates from the manufactures site when installing anything.

Yes.

Possibly by using an Airport Express, but depends on what type of port connection the printer requires.

Integration of Oracle Apps with the Third Party Label Printing Software

Hi,
I am integrating Oracle Apps R12 with the third party Label Printing Software(Bartender).
For generating the Label, I have to create the XML file in Oracle Apps and with the help of Oracle WMS i have to transfer the XML file to the TCP/IP Port.
Third Party Label Printing Software will pick the file from the TCP/IP Port.
I am not able to find the way to send the XML file generated by the concurrent program to the TCP/IP Port using Oracle WMS.

Hi,
I assume, i have already setup profile 'WMS: Label Print Mode' to Synchronous - TCP/IP.
Basically, you dont have to create any concurrent program for XML creation, Oracle will do it for you 'out of box'.
Also set 'WMS: Synchronous TCP/IP label request delay' to 100, this is a required step, though none of the documentation talks about it.
if you think that all the requests are not handled correctly, then you will need to increase this delay further.
Lastly, verify that the printer is setup correctly in Oracle (Place where you specify IP Address and port)

Strange Printing Issue With New HP & Pages

Hello!
I have a very strange printing issue with a new HP printer. I have written pages documents heavy in Texts which are located within tables. The documents print fine on a Cannon and Epson printer and look great but when I print the document on my new HP Laserjet Pro 400 Colour M451nw some of the text on some rows come out of the printer looking like they are bold / slightly fuzzy. This only happens with some of the rows of text, not all of them. The font is the same in every row with the same format.
You can see this in the attached image. The first line (Thanks very much) has printed correctly but the subsequent lines look bold / slightly fuzzy.
After a lot of testing the only way I can resolve this is if I copy the content into a new pages document and only then it will print and look ok with the HP printer.
This must be a problem within my origional document. I would simply copy and paste everything into a new document however this would take a very, very long time (over 5 years of work producing teaching materials and over 100 documents and thousands of tables and formatting that cannot be copied and pasted).
Also, on other printers you can see the lines seperating each row of the table. These lines are not visible on the HP print outs, even when the table is copied into a new document.
Has anyone come accross an issue like this before? Is there a way I can fix this without creating a new document? Do I need to get a new another new printer (the 4th printer this week!)?
Any advise, wise words would be greatly apprechiated!

Sorry, Fruhulda. After 4 hours on the phone with Apple care they are taking this issue further themselves. It seems to be a problem with our pages document and the compatibility with certain drivers. We have still not gotton to the bottom of it and Apple are going to get back to me when they have an answer.
We also worked out that the issue only happens when you print via Ethrenet & USB. Printing via Wifi is ok and there are no quality issues.

Printing problem with new Intel iMac and Indesign CS3

Hi there,
this might not be the right place to ask for, but has anybody here experienced printing problems in Indesign CS3 with Tiger?
I just installed the software and tried to print out of Indesign, but nothing. I can see on the panel that data is beeing received but no printing action. And this is just out of the new Indesing CS3.
Any suggestions?

Our office is printing fine from ID & PS CS3. This is from Intel & PPC Mac's running 10.4.9.
What is your printer and how is it configured for printing, ie USB or IP.
Also, have a look at the cups error log. You can find this via System Profiler > Software > Logs. This will show which process is failing for the spooled job. You can post it back here for more help.

Cannot print remotely with new Wireless HP Officejet 4630

My old HP printer died last week, which is okay because I was in need of a new one. I chose the HP Officejet 4630 because it had the wireless printing option and was a 4-in-1. I work from home and I remote in to my office computer in another location. With my old hp printer, I was able to print but was connected with a USB cable. With this new wireless printer I cannot print from my remote location. I have tried a few times, restarted the computer and printer but it still does not print. I am able to choose my printer when I am logged into my work computer remotely. This is a big issue as I need to print reports at home from my computer at work. I am using Windows 7 and I've printed the wireless network test results which came back A-OK. Has anyone else had this issue and figured out how to print? When I look at the printer queue there is nothing...

I just want to add that I am able to print wirelessly from my computer but not when I am remoting in to my work computer.

Need help scanning with new HP multi-function printer/scanner/fax

My new HP M1212nf MFP was recognized and installed in System Preferences with no problem for the printing and the fax functions. However, it is not recognized by the system software as a scanner. It will scan using the supplied HP software, but I would like to use it with Image Capture. HP Support says that this is an Apple problem for not providing a scanner driver for this multifunction. Does anyone know a way around this? Thanks.

I finally contacted HP support by phone rather than email, and found out that we were both asking the "wrong" question. It turns out that the scan function of this MFP was designed to be simple and not provide more extensive capabilities of a photo scanner. Hence, no software will provide additional capabilities like dust-off, color correction, etc. That is not what I was told by the salesman at the local office store, but buyer beware. And, for my purposes, it is acceptable since I use my Epson photo scanner for photo work. The main thing I wanted this MFP for was network printing, and it does that well.

Dell laptop with xp operating system will not print with new hp 8610 wireless printer.

Downloaded software from disk and from hp website everything went smoothly except would not print test page or any other document. used scan doctor everything checked out told me to run test page would still not print. told me to print internal test page and it printed it. said had software problem and to reinstall. did so many time still no luck......

I am experiencing the same issue with Generic desktop PC with Windows XP Professional SP3.
Scan ok. but:-
- fails to print test page (Error: "Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance?")
- fails to print from notepad (Error: "The Parameter is incorrect")
Tried Ethernet, wireless and USB connections and all exhibit same behaviour.
Uninstalled and re-installed multiple times.

Officejet 4620 All in one Not printing even with new cartridge

My printer has suddenly stopped printing.
There are no error messages.
My ink level is full.
It slowly started "running" out of ink as I was printing.
New cartridge.
Cleaned printer heads twice.
Ran print quality report and it acted like it was printing but didn't.
Any ideas??

The document here may help resolve black not printing on your Officejet 4620. Be sure to check the vents, if they are blocked the printer will appear to be running out of ink early in the cartridge life.
If the troubleshooting steps there do not resolve the issue I sould suggest you contact HP, 1-800-HPINVENt if you are in the US or see the document here for elsewhere. They may be able to help resolve the issue even if the printer is not in warranty as described in this post.

Printer Problems with New iMac

I have a new iMac. My printer is an HP 2550 Series color laser printer. When I send a print job, the queue says that it is waiting for the printer to become available and just turns. If I turn the printer off, then on, the print job is done.I have been to HP & Apple tech support to no avail. Any help?

There is a possibility that HP has a software update that is available through Apple software update. I've gotten more than a dozen software updates from Canon regarding my year and a half old printer. Like you, when I first installed my printer I experienced a few silly glitches until a few updates came through. The customer service people are often not even aware of the updates concerning Apple products. Anyhow, it's easy to check

Printing problem with HP Color Laserjet 3000 printer

I am using HP Color Laserjet 3000 printer, it is configured in SAP ECC6 with SPAD with device type "HPLJ4 : HP Laserjet 4 series PCL and access method = L: Print Locally Using LP
At HPUX level printer in configured with proper driver also.
When I print from SAP, I get following error
"Invalid option, Please refer to MAN page for valid options" as attached
Other then above line , nothing else comes

Hi,
Make a try using the device type HKSAPWIN and the access method is front end prinitng.
Also make sure that you are able to take the print out using the os(printer should be configured at os level first).

Need help with printing edocs with a laserjet1320. Wont print large jobs. installed 10.7 update.Help

i am trying to print 50 page(5mb) document package on legal paper and the printer is printing one page at a time. I am using a macbook pro 10.7 and I have installed the update. however, it seems as though the computer is not correctly communicating with the printer. A four page job was no problem. I believe these printers are capable of high volume printing. Can I reinstall the firmware? Adobe acrobat will not even communicate with the printer. It just says "waiting for printer to become available." Using "preview", it sends the job to the printer, however, it is printing about 5pages per minute. It is connected through a usb cable. thanks for your help.

Your laserjet1320 is a commercial product. I will suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support as well for yet a better chance at finding a prompt solution.
