Intermittent channels saturated

My chart.vi intermittently shows all channels from one SCXI card saturated with a high frequency signal when I press the run arrow. If I just restart the vi, it sometimes cleans up and all channels look good. Ive checked connections, changes out PXI/SCXI chassis, 1125 SCXI card, pxi controller and pxiDAQ module with no luck. What would cause this?

  • C3-01 - Intermittent open channel noise when conne...

    I experienced a strange occurence today on my new C3-01. Each time it paired with the Nokia Bluetooth system in my Ford Transit Connect it would emit a loud open channel sound like what you hear on an unsquelched CB or walkie-talkie for about 1 - 1.5 seconds. Removing and reinstalling the battery seems to have fixed things. I figured I'd post about it here since before I figured out what was happening and where the sound was coming from it was pretty unnerving.

    The key here is that they never fixed my phone line properly until the change the D side cabling 2 days ago... Now phone is perfect.. It seems so simple to me...My phone line is fixed and all i need someone todo is reset the broadband profile and i am getting what i pay for and dont have to keep going though this..

    the problem is the line fault might not be the only thing affecting it, and thats why the engineer when clearing the fault should of performed the reset, clearly he didnt which means your stuck wiht the standard way of doing things, next time make sure to offer plenty of tea n biscuits they often perform better (the enginners that is) then you wont be stuck like the rest of the world playing a waiting game, oh that and of course you can always try ringing the bb helpline and rtequesting an ip profile reset but chances are after being ready to scream down the phone on the 4th day it will of fixed itself already>>>>

  • Reading channel saturation

    The reading of the output of a Wheastone bridge plus amplifier is most of the time wrong, going to the limit values set for the channel. These reading values are not real probably, as the voltimeter doesn´t give so high values.

    If you are collecting the channel differential, your source may be exceeding the common mode voltage spec of the card which shows up as very high or very low voltages. Your voltmeter will have much better common mode voltage specs allowing better (wider common mode voltage) differential measurements. Use your voltmeter to measure a leg compared to analog ground while measuring with the DAQ card, >15 V common mode is out of range for DAQ card

  • Using ActionScript to specify settings in the Hue/Saturation Effect

    Hi there,
    I have been trying to write a little action script that sets up a bunch of defaults in the Hue Saturation plug-in but can only get so far.
    The syntax either falls over or I am missing something here because the same code will work when in After Affects but if I try to run a script from the script UI directory. I get a "property undefined" returned. Uusally you just call the property by name and all is well. In this particularl case though. The only way to access say the "Red channel Saturation" is to have the plug-in in the Red channel pop-up. Ok so it works but not when running an external script.
    The following does work from within AE but not from the UI scripts directory via the Window menu.
    currProj = app.project(index).layer(index):
    currEffect = currProj.Effects.addProperty("Hue/Saturation");
    currEffectProp = currProj.effect("Hue/Saturation");
    currEffectProp.masterSaturation.setValue(20);//this call works
    currEffectProp.channelControl.setValue(2);//this call works changing the plug-in pane to the Red Channel
    currEffectProp.redSaturation.setValue(-5); //this returns: "TypeError: undefined is not an object" – yet when run within AE as an expression it works fine???
    Any help would be great – thank you

    "Max thank you for solving this for me."
    I still don't know what went wrong in your original code, so it's not really "solved" I guess!
    Anyway, about layer("ADBE Effect Parade") it's the same thing as layer.Effects or layer("Effects") but I'm never sure of what will work in a non-english version of AE.
    That's why I'm adding the Hue/Saturation effect using "ADBE HUE SATURATION" instead of "Hue/Saturation"
    So a useful thing to do is to create a script in the base "Script" folder, and write something like:
    var comp = app.panel.activeItem;
    if (     comp
         && comp instanceof CompItem
         && comp.selectedLayers.length
         && comp.selectedLayers[0].selectedProperties.length)
         var prop = comp.selectedLayers[0].selectedProperties[0];
         var str = "";
         while (prop)
              str += prop.matchName + " (" + prop.numProperties + "): " + prop.name;
              prop = prop.parentProperty;
         alert(str);
    Again, typing in the browser, check the code first ;-)
    Something like that will give you:
    - the matchName of the property selected (which can be anything: effect, shape, mask ... or any property of these)
    - the number of sub-properties of the current poperty (so for the Hue/Saturation effect, that will give you the number of controls of the plugin UI, although there may be some hidden ones too)
    - the name of the property
    ... for the selected property and its parents, up to the layer it belongs to.
    I find that quite handy when you want to know the matchname of an effect for example.

  • Missing warnings while using softproofing ?

    First, congratulations for all the new or enhanced features !
    Especially the softproofing function is great : the histogramm is now showing what is happening in the destination color space.
    My question is about the warnings on the image while using softproofing : after activating both monitor and destination warnings, and evenif my image is voluntarily completly blown up with highlights, i see very few warnings on the image.
    Am i doing something wrong or the warning function is not working well ?
    Charles, France

    I suspect but could be totally off, that a single color channel will not cause the OOG overlay. You should be able to see this anyway in the normal Histogram (in this case, a blue spike on the end of the Histogram). Again, going out on a limb, I suspect that the profile has to be used to tell LR that all three channels fall outside of gamut, in other words, this isn’t a channel by channel OOG but the entire group. Maybe someone from Adobe can comment.
    I can get the OOG warning to show up with only one or two channels saturating. It appears to have been done correctly. See the screenshot below. The channel info shows only red saturating at 255 in the red-masked OOG area
    Now I can say that I think there is a zoom bug in terms of the OOG in that I’ve seen some overlay colors appear or disappear based on the zoom ratio. Even saw this in Julieanne’s video demo. So you may want to zoom in at 100% (1:1) to get a more accurate OOG preview.
    I am not so sure whether that is a bug or simply a cause of how the Develop preview is generated. LR has to render a low resolution preview and inevitably that involves some downscaling and resharpening (LR has been doing some sharpening on the develop preview for a while now). It is possible that if you are on the edge of being out of gamut, the lower resolution preview can get pushed out of gamut by the sharpening and perhaps by noisy data that is not smoothed away by the noise reduction that would happen at 1:1 but doesn't happen the same way zoomed out at fit or fill.
    P.S. as we found in the thread linked above there are some minor bugs in the softproof notably with proofing for sRGB. So I wouldn't trust it too much yet and just look at it as a preview of how it might or will be implemented in the release.

  • Channel scale effect over saturation

    Hello,
    I have a .vi to acquire 8 channels, with a 6062E card and a BNC-2115 board.
    For each channel, I have created a scale, so that I get physical units. Up to today, I used to read Volts, and then multiply the signal by the sensitivity and add an offset, but I want to make the conversion properly (and so, for example, I will save to disk data with channel names, units, and so on).
    But, here is the part I don't understand.
    If I set the slope to 1, that is, I can read the Volts, the measurement is fine. I compare it with a multimeter reading and both agree. Readings range from 1 to 5V.
    So, I then set the gain to its actual value: 22,5 (physical units/volt), and no offset (y-intercept = 0). And here's the weird stuff: the reading will get saturated at a very much lower value than it should (5*22.5 = 100), it saturates when reaching 11.87.
    If I set the slope to 1 again, readings match again the multimeter reading, ranging from 1 to 5V.
    So, one last check: I set again the slope to 22.5, and measure also with the multimeter: the multimeter makes the same reading as always, read value will saturate at 11.87.
    This value of 11.87 depends on the y-intercept I set, can't tell you right now the tries I've made but didn't just sum to the y-intercept I entered, it changed it with apparently no sense.
    Please, anyone has an idea of is happening / what am I doing wrong and why?

    Hello,
    well, I finally solved it. Actually, I finally found what was I doing wrong.
    My main error was not to carefuly read the error I mentioned above, just see the error, the code, & roughly read it.
    Actually, since the Scale is done before the channel definition, MIN and MAX values correspond to Scaled Units, and not to volts. I got the error because the value entered, even in scaled units, was overrange. And as I was entering the volt corresponding values (1 to 5), these values in scaled units where really low, so it would saturate at 11.87 that corresponds to the maximum readable level adjusted by the MIN and MAX values entered.
    So, finally the issue is solved. Again, thanks a lot for your time and effort, it is really interesting to have a forum like this with active people helping us newies.
    Thanks.

  • Intermittent channel in SCXI-1520

    I have been using an SCXI-1520 and recently channel 0 has become intermittent in operation. It drifts off to either the plus or negative rail and stays there. This problem is noted with and without connections made to it, including the use of the Test Panel function in MAX. Resetting the module sometimes helps, but not for long. It appears to me there is a malfunction in the module, but I wanted to get an additional opinion before I send it in. (An additional uncertainty is that the SCXI-1520 seems a little touchy, or unstable in it's setup. It's just an impression I have.)
    Also, is it possible to programmatically reset the module in LabVIEW?

    Part of the reason I don't want to send it in for evaluation is we are using it in production. (We make strain gauge based load cells.) We are expanding operations and so I've ordered an additional module and chassis. However, I will not be able to get to it till January.
    I reassigned channels to keep production going until I can sort things out.
    Thanks for your response. It gives confidence that I'm not missing something in the programming.

  • How to detect a signal saturation on voltage channels

    Hi,
    I have many votage channels with personnal's scales.
    I would like to know if it's possible to detect a input saturation (voltage out of  range, +10/-10V for exemple), directly in the acquisition channel.
    I can do reverse scale to know the voltage value but I would like to know if there is a automatic flag in the channel.

  • CS5: Magic Wand fails intermittently; cannot use Channel Mixer on selection

    Hello,
    Using CS5 / Photoshop on Mac OS 10.6.4. 4GB RAM.
    The Magic Wand tool fails intermittently.  Quitting PS and rebooting seems to re-enable use of the Magic Wand.
    However, even when the Magic Wand tool does "work", for some reason I can no longer use any of the items in Image -> Adjustments, such as the Channel Mixer.  This functionality was working just 20 minutes ago, and now even with multiple reboots I cannot seem to get it working again.
    Googling came up with no relevant articles on this errant behavior.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Adjusting saturation of individual color channels?

    In Photoshop, the Hue/Saturation adjustment allows individual adjustment to each color channel. So for instance, one can lower the saturation of only red, without affecting global saturation. I've used it thousands of times over the years, especially when shooting with Nikon cameras, which often seem to have artificially over-saturated yellows, or when shooting HDR, which tends to boost reds.
    I've been scouring the internet for a plugin (or a hidden slider) to do the same within FCPX, to no avail. I'd love to be able to adjust a clip's global saturation up, while specifically lowering saturation in reds and yellows. Or at times, a clip simply has an oversaturated color that I want to diminish.
    I've thought about using selective masks to grab a hue and desaturate, but that's a weird workaround to me.
    This is a chance for the haters and maligners of FCPX's color correction to make themselves heard. Any thoughts?

    Try this and see if it helps:
    http://sight-creations.com/fxexchange/ChannelSaturation.zip
    (if you need intallation help: http://sight-creations.com/install4fcpx/)
    This is the parameter arrangement:
    The Value parameters can be used to darken/lghten the channel.  I also added  "overall" Brightness and Contrast controls (if you darken or lighten too much with the values.)  The Pivot is part of Contrast and is a midpoint of sorts (it more or less is a fine-tuner for contrast.)
    Big hint: small moves. Also, once you desaturate a channel, you'll probably want to increase it's Value (and vice versa) to help balance the other channels so that you don't develop an unwanted cast. You can toggle the original state with the effect by clicking on the blue square dot by the effect's name in the inspector.
    Here's a little *extreme* before/after:
    (untouched original and probably not the best example [but I have problems with oversaturated reds as well.])
    (after extreme desaturation of reds, some additional brightness and a little contrast along with the value adjustments — there's a fair amount of latitude with this effect.)

  • Hue/Saturation color channel control in P Pro?

    After Effects has a Hue/Saturation effect that allows users to adjust hue/saturation within a pre-defined or user-defined color channel range. Is there a way in P Pro to do that?

    5.5 has color balance HLS preset in the effects tab, you should find that better.
    RGB curves may also work better with your color caste.
    It is often a case of using different correction effects or even multiple one.
    You can also try the Fast Color correction preset, move the centre point directly away from the yellow which in your case is towards the 18 minute point if the dial is 60 minutes.

  • Creating Saturation Channel / Mask

    Hello.
    I'm interested in making a Saturation Mask. Actually I want to extract the Saturation Channel.
    I know there's HSL / HSB Plug-In made by Adobe which is able to do so.
    Yet, I'm interested if there's an option creating it using the Blend Modes (Just like adding a Solid Black Layer in Color Mode creates a Luminosity Mask).
    Could anyone assist?
    Thanks.

    This thread has revealed that not all methods out there which allegedly produce a SATURATION mask are valid.
    That seems true for LUMINOSITY masks as well, and I'd like to adress that.
    In the same way that a saturation mask was defined, let's define a luminosity mask as having gray values which everywhere correspond to the underlying luminosity. Since the  0-255 luminosity range is the same as the gray value range, correspondence in this case is equality (the 2.55 saturation multiplier is not needed).
    Luminosity in PS is  0.3R + 0.59G + 0.11B. Just for example, masking a pure, fully bright red (255/0/0) would give a gray value of 0.3 x 255 = 76. Likewise masking a pure, fully bright green (0/255/0) gives 150, and pure, fully bright blue (0/0/255) gives 28.
    The method for creating a luminosity mask cited by Royi Avital in his original post (overlaying a black layer in color blend mode) is valid in that it meets the foregoing definition of a luminosity mask and, in fact, can be expanded to overlaying any shade of gray from black to white in any of three blend modes, specifically hue, saturation, or color blend modes (note that the luminosity mode is excluded).
    There is another commonly-advocated method for producing a luminosity mask: ALT-CTRL + tilde (~). For the life of me, I cannot get it to produce grays that equal the luminosity. Since this seems to be the widely-adopted method, any challenge must indeed be hesitant. Can somebody out there substantiate or disprove my result. Why doesn't this accepted method conform to a reasonable definition of a luminosity mask?

    Matt,
    How are you invoking local proxy from HTTP proxy (using route node or service callout)? Is local proxy calling another proxy/business service? Do you have fault handling implemented?
    Can you also check server log to figure out any additional error information (like stacktrace)?

  • Intermittent color saturation on C910 Chromebook (has stopped acting intermittent now)

    I got this Chromebook from my son when my Windows computer was hit by the Crypowall ransomware. I've straightened out that problem, but had to lose all my files that were encrypted and I was unable to recover them. Anyway, the last 4 or 5 days, I've had an intermittent display problem, where the red color becomes saturated/dominent. It is very much like when I worked on video arcade games with CRT monitors, a transister in one of the Red, Green or Blue drive circuits on the neck board, would start failing and that color would become saturated in display. I removed the bottom of CB case and found the main connector for display and tried to find a possible problem in that area and the rest of the motherboard, but, was unable to induce any intermittent changes. The problem has stopped being intermittent, pretty much now and the red has stayed after numerous Shut Downs and Power Ups. I'm pretty much ruling out the actual display, but, I'm assuming there is no display circuitry between the display connector on motherboard and the display panel. Apple iPhones do have an embedded circuit mounted on the LCD ribbon cable, but, I haven't anything like that on laptop displays I've replaced.

    I'd look at a broken or partially broken wire in the cable between the motherobard and display. Failing that it's pretty much got to be a motherboard issue.
