Intermittent email

I am having difficulty getting all emails to my blackberry from my email addres.  My email is POP3 server and AT&T states that everything is setup A-OK on the blackberry server yet I seem to get intermittent emails.  What do I need to look for to resolve this issue.  I can send an email from my phone everytime, I just do not get every email.  I check my outlook and there are messages in outlook that are no on the blackberry.  Please help.

At first i recieved every email from my hotmail on my pearl. Now i only recieve some! So if any one can help with this that would be great!!  thx

  • Survey of intermittent email problems on edge

I have posted here before about my iphone having intermittent email problems. Usually when I am on the edge network it can sometimes take minutes before my phone downloads email. Sometimes it never downloads them at all. I have my account setup for imap and thought this may be do to the fact I have 100 email sub folders. However these are only for filing with no server side processing to file mail to individual folders. For the most part the issue is limited to edge network access but sometimes does happen when connected to wifi. Of the 8 or so people I have talked to who own iphones only 1 does not seem to have a problem like this. All 8 of us are on different mail servers also.
So I am curious how many others out there are regularly having issues pulling down email on your iphone? And if so is it limited to edge network access or when you are accessing your mail over wifi? Has anyone owned a blackberry and had issues like these?

I don't have a problem since I fixed it. I have 4 email accounts: 2 POP3, One IMAP and one Exchange configured as IMAP. I never have a problem retrieving email via EDGE or WiFi. Your problem description is too general to recommend a single solution, however.
Blackberrys cannot handle rich text email, so all messages are short and download quickly. On the iPhone if you have a message that contains HTML, graphics or MIME attachments they can be quite large - up to several megabytes. Clearly these will take a long time to download. The same email received by a Blackberry will only get the text version of the message, which is a couple of K.
If you are accessing an Exchange server and get "message could not be downloaded" errors, delete the account and recreate it using IMAP rather than Exchange as the server type.
If you are accessing a POP3 account and you have a primary computer somewhere powered on that periodically retrieves email the message will be removed from the server before your iPhone downloads it sometimes. The solution is to either shut down the mail client when away from the computer or change its options to leave messages on the server.
For IMAP you shouldn't see any of these problems, except that if you open a folder it retrieves messages in that folder AFTER the folder is opened; it doesn't sync folders automatically.

  • Intermittent email alerts iphone 5?

I'm getting intermittent email alers on my iphone 5, sometime I get the alert tone sometimes not (obviously I'm referring only to when the phone is not muted). I've reset it and restored it but it's still the same. Is this a software glitch and so a common 'fault', or is it just my phone?
    Cheers

What kind of error message are you receiving when you try to get mail on wifi? Is this your home wifi, or other work/public wifi? Does this happen on all wifi, or just the one you are referencing? When on this wifi, can you get Internet access with Safari? You mention "sync" your email, do you have an Exchange or IMAP account. Otherwise, mail does not sync.

  • Intermittent emails with blank body for single user

    Good morning!
I have a client running Exchange 2010 on a SBS 2011 server.  There is a single user who will intermittently receive emails in which the body is blank.  The affected emails behave this way in both Outlook and in OWA.  I know the content is
actually there because if there are multiple threads in the conversation in which an email is sent and then the user replies (this happened with a test email I sent him and then called about because the body was blank when i sent it to him) I can see the body
in the single line preview until that particular message is expanded.  Additionally, it seems that if he continues to email back in forth in the same conversation thread, the missing content will appear once he's received an inbound message where the
    content displays properly.
To our knowledge this only happens with inbound mail.  It happens with multiple senders, there doesn't appear to be just a single source so I haven't set up pipeline tracing since there is not a consistent problem with any one sender. Some messages
will come in fine and others will have a blank body.
Any advice you have would be much appreciated.

I turned up Pipeline tracing on my email address for this user as this is the one address I can control.  For all of the emails that turned up with blank bodies in Outlook and OWA I can see the body of hte message in all of the Messaging Snapshots
    created by Exchange.

  • Intermittant email?

    Hi Guys,
Is anyone else experiencing intermittant btinternet.com email problems?
Today, Outlook is forever throwing up errors when trying to access my mail boxes.
This is not on every occasion but around a 60% failure rate.
    Thanks....

Yes for the past several months my Outlook wants me to keep signing in and then rejects the correct email and password. It's done it around 100 times and there's no help and no answer. BT get worse. I won't be with them for much longer as I've had nothing but problems with my phone, broadband and Youview and slowly stopping each component.

  • Intermittent email password problem

    Good day,
My girlfriend has been using her btinternet email account for a few years without issue, but about a month ago she started getting intermittent login failures to her BT Yahoo email account; Outlook pops-up the "request network password" and Thunderbird pops-up a message about the name or password being invalid. There are no error codes. However, if she uses a browser; Firefox or Internet Explorer, there is never a problem (so we know the password is correct), but if she uses an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird then increasingly, the client is unable to retrieve emails for several hours and usually whilst she is doing something else like using Excel, the emails suddenly burst into life. I work in IT as a Unix sysadmin so know my way around this basic stuff (or so I thought) but I cannot figure out what is going wrong here. We have just spent 5 hours talking to four different Indians who do not seem to understand the problem and certainly have not been able to help. Strangely enough, if we login using a browser then invariably the email clients start working, albeit for an hour or so. We have access to two computers:
Desktop running Windows XP and using Outlook 2003.
Laptop running Windows 7 and using Thunderbird.
If I use her laptop from my home then the issue is still there, which eliimates anything on her hub. If I add her email account settings to Thunderbird on my Mac I get the same issue; sometimes I can retrieve her mail, sometime I cannot.
Nothing has been changed on her desktop but I have tried just about every setting for SMTP in Thunderbird, some work for a short while. One of the Indians remotely checked Thunderbird on the laptop and another checked Outlook on the desktop. Of course email worked just fine as they insisted we sign on with the browser. Email failed less than 10 minutes after the first call ended today and with the operator insisting email is fixed forever!
It appears to me that some "rule" or setting on the BT mail server is causing the issue but as no-one seems to be able to help I am turning to the user community for something more tangible.
    All ideas, suggestion welcome.
    Kind regards,
    Rob

Hi Rob. Welcome to the forums.
A few weeks ago, there were some serious issues with the mail servers causing the problems you are now seeing. Although I wouldn't say it has been fixed completely, it has certainly massively improved. However your case is probably something that seems to happen from time to time, and is typically a fleeting error - but may last a few days.
Have a look at my shortcuts, link below, option 0d/h and alter the server names. That can very often clear the problem you are seeing.

  • Intermittent email retrieval

On some days, my iphone will retrieve 3 of the 20 or so messages I receive on my computer and on some days none. No consistency as to retrieval or non-retrieval from certain users (i.e, email from Bill Smith on monday shows up on my iphone, but Bill Smith's email on tuesday does not). I assume that my set up is proper, or else the iphone would not retrieve any of the emails. Thank you in advance.

    Is this a POP account?
If so, what is your account setting with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account for removing messages from the server when downloaded?

  • E7-00 Intermittent email problem

The email on my E7-00 works for a couple of days, then is out for a day then comes back and so on... I am not using Nokia Ovi email and I only have one email account. It is not very likely it is an operator problem as the email flows without problems to my PC all the time and this has been going on for two weeks. I have already erased the email account and set it up again but it does not help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The problem was both receiving and sending. I  t h i n k  (hope) the problem is now solved. It appears, that when you create an email account other than the Nokia Ovi email you should refuse to accept the standard conditions and then the phone is freer to adopt the settings belonging to the account you are setting up. At least now it has been working for 48 hours.
Incidentally, the Instructions for Use (128 pages downloadable from the Nokia web site) do not tell you how to erase the email account, nor do they tell you how to find the folders in your email account. You just have to press various buttons long and see what happens...This is not a learning process all consumers are prepared to live with...

  • Me & Yahoo Push Intermittent Email

First off, I owned the original iPhone and I had no problem with push email with Yahoo.
Ever since I got the iPhone 3G the email has become unreliable, even with the new 2.1 update and using a me.com email address.
It's very important in my work to receive messages quickly and the iPhone 3G (2.1 update) is dropping the ball on this.
Is there anything I can do to make push more reliable?
    Thanks

If Rogers can't figure then the money is on Rogers - if they COULD figure (or even 'advise') then you might be on your own, but as the can't then you've found the REAL flaw, probably (IMHO&E)!
It is no surprise how many operators globally are letting down their subscribers: they work on the basis of cost/risk versus return, and a single user's gripe is of insufficient value to make the average operator even flinch!
    Good luck!

  • SBS 2008 and Exchange 2007 intermittent Email Issues

    Hello
I am having an issue with my SBS 2008 Server and Exchange 2007.  After setup, the mail seems to work great for about a week, then the mail just quits working.  To get it working again, all I have to do is reboot the server and mail starts working
again.  When looking in the event logs, all I come across is transport.exe errors.  Any ideas on why it works for 5-10 days, then just quits working?  Any help or insight would be much appreciated.
    Thanks All

  • Intermittent sending email- no error messages

I have been battling an intermittent email sending issue for about 3 months and here's the scenario. We are using Thunderbird version: 31.5.0 generally with no issues, then without notice we will no longer be able to send emails reliably. I have tried to copy and paste the body of the email to a new email to try to see if that will send, Nope. I am in contact with my email service provider (iPage) trying to see if it is something on their end and in doing that I tried to send the source to a separate computer via a .TXT file and that wouldn't send either. In order to get it to send the source code to the other computer I had to copy and paste it to MS-Word and save it as a .DOC file format. But if we re-type the entire email message and try to re-send it will send with out any issues. Also, the unusual thing that we are seeing is that we are getting the message that the message was sent successfully and there are no errors when the failures are occurring.

Ok if you are being notified the message was sent, that means your providers mail server is telling Thunderbird it got the message with no errors. What it does with it after that is anybodies guess. Except of course the ipage people they have the server and logs to work it out with.
Being locked down to using DOC formats woulds like malware so it can piggy back out on the doc file. Have you run virus scans?
Or it could be that the firewall at the providers end just does not accept TXT attachments. Not all that uncommon. But you would expect them to be able to tell you exactly what their mail rules were.

  • 10.3.9 email server outage

    Hello,
I am running MacOS10.3.9 server and have encountered an email server problem. I currently have no IMAP or POP email functionality despite the mail server being up in the Server Admin Program. No changes to the server have been made in the recent past (months). I did start getting intermittent email failure of deliver warnings earlier this week (see below) that prompted me to restart the machine leading to the current outage.
    Failure to deliver message below:
This is the Postfix program at host www.avmi.net.
I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned
below could not be delivered to one or more destinations.

I have attached excerpts from the mail.log and the mailaccess.log below. Interestingly the mailaccess.log was not present and the mailaccess.log.0.gz was last saved 08/20/2007. I assumed all this was due to a corrupted mail database and rebuilt the mail data base using mailbfr which ran uneventfully but did not appear to solve the problem this time as it has in the past.

I would appreciate any suggestions. I am planning to move this server to a 10.5 server on a new xserve when available for purchase but need to keep it up and running until later this month.
Thanks ahead of time for any input you can provide.
FYI, both file serving and web service are running correctly on the machine as anticipated.

    Robert,
Thanks for the input. I tried the mailbfr program and while it worked it failed to resolve the problem. I did contact Alex directly via his web site (http://osx.topicdesk.com) and he was able to resolve the problem for me by manually performing the steps that the program does automatically.
    Thanks again.
    Mike

  • Sent email message text missing

I'm having sporadic problems with email. Only a portion of the message gets through. I can't figure out exactly what circumstances create this problem, but it seems to be when I'm replying to or forwarding from another message. It doesn't happen all the time, but it has persisted for weeks.

For me, I get a number of "intermittent" emails, each with a portion of the text, but all those "pre-copies" get moved into the Trash; only the full version is sent. Are you sure you're not viewing one of these "pre-copies"? What email provider do you have? (MobileMe, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, etc.)

  • CRM 7.0 Unable to open/view PDF Attachments in Email (Intermittent issue)

    Hi,
Unable to open an attachment (PDF format) sent from exchange server(Lotus) to SAP CRM,Actually its an intermittent issue When i try to open email in UI ,getting an error message "File is damaged and couldnot be repaired".
I understand that PDF attachment wasn't delivered(Synchronization issue between Lotus and CRM) to SAP CRM system properly by the exchange server ( Lotus ).Hence the particular attachments are not able to view/open in SAP CRM system.
Is there anyway to trace and find out root cause of the issue?
    Regards,
