Intermittent "Firefox prevented this site from automatically reloading"
My copy of Firefox 3.6.3 started about a week ago giving me automatic reloading error messages. I have checked all of the settings and there should be nothing in the settings causing this. It also does not happen on all sites or even the same site all of the time. Sometimes Firefox will give the error message and then reload the site anyway with clicking on allow.

Hi, It's the noscript .81 update that has that added new protection. It also will prompt if site is trying to redirect.

HOW DO YOU TURN OFF "FIREFOX PREVENTED THIS PAGE FROM AUTOMATICALLY RELOADING". I did perform the "see Advanced - General - Accessibility. It worked for me and my "user" site (don't know how to say my site) and still having problems with my wife's. I have googled the "ff prevented...." and after a number of hours searching I still have not found a fix...

JMYou should still disable this setting:
*Firefox > Options/Preferences > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.
What is the value of the <b>accessibility.blockautorefresh</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page?

I constantly have the following in a bar at the top of the CNN page:
"Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading". Ii is accompanied by an "Allow" button. How do I get rid of that. I also have on every site randomly highlighted words in green that, when moused-over, has a little pop-up with a marketing ad.See:

Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading
As of June 25 2013 In Firefox version 22.0 the ALLOW button fails to work when presented the message "Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading". The WORKAROUND is to UNCHECK "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page". The ALLOW button should be corrected, however.

Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading ... How can I fix this?
I use firefox with my earthlink account. When the earthlink browser page loads .. and for that fact, when most pages load, a bar appears that says "Firefox Prevented this Page from Automatically Reloading." on the far right side of the bar is a Box " ALLOW" and the Red "X" Box.
When I click Allow, for about 20 to 30 seconds the bar is gone, but then slowly comes back. In V33.0 how do I disable "firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading"?
When loading my home page I get the following message "firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading". Before I upgraded to V33.0 I was able to fix this issue. The answer was to uncheck the box "warn me when pages try to redirect" but I don't see this option in V33.0.
This should be in the same spot:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General mini-tab > ''uncheck the box for'' "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" -
How to disable the popup "Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading ?
On Firefox 9.0.1 (OSX Lion 10.7.2) most of web page appear with a popup saying : Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading.

I have tried clearing the cache, allowing pop-ups from Flickr and Yahoo and all pop-ups but Firefox will not allow the sign-in page to load. Is it a virus? It doesn't seem to affect any other website, including hotmail. I have tried other browsers and they don't want to load Yahoo and Flickr either. Any suggestions gratefully received. I'm using Windows with Firefox 4 on a Toshiba laptop.

Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading to another page
I have Mac OS X 10.4 and Firefox 3.6.28. I keep getting this message when going to different sites. Most times the message disappears so quickly I do not have time to even click on the "allow" button. Sometimes I do click it, but still cannot get to the page! I read some other questions and answers re going to preferences, advanced, general, and clicking the third box under accessibility, regarding "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page". If I "uncheck" the box, the only thing that happens is I don't see the message any more. But it still will not load the page! Can anyone help?? Thank you!!

When I click on the icons for sites I use regularly I get an annoying message and have to click x's and "allow"s several times to get it to go away. The message is a smug "Firefox has prevented this page from automatically reloading." Who asked it to suddenly start doing that? Why?

The Idea shure was great, just the implementation is not usuable for many people as seen by the number of people that post about it... and the ones that are annoyed but don't post.
There are 2 main Problems here:
1) redirect and reload, even so they are similar in what they do, really need two seperate options. While most people will like a web application, monitoring or news site to refresh their information by reloading most people do not like to be redirected from "soundslikeadeal.com" to "drivebydownloadsandhacks.net". Allowing to reload and blocking the redirect would make a lot of sense for many users...
2) Like the option to display or not display pictures for a website, this option should be able to set on a per site setting and the Dialog "Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading" should not just offer the option to "Allow" for one single reload (as it does now!) but to "whitelist" as in "remember this decission" or "Always Allow reload/redirect for this Site". This would be a real Security improvement because it would allow us to by default disallow the redirection even if we need it enabled for some website that we need for our daily work! -
More often than not, I get the message "Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading". I click ALLOW and it comes back. I click the X and it goes away and allows the page to reload.
It occurs on my homepage (MSNBC) and a few -- but not all -- of my bookmarked pages.
At times, the message DOES NOT appear but I don't know what I've done to change anything to have it not appear. A couple of days later, the message is back upon loading my homepage.
This is especially annoying when trying to get into my banking website after attempting to log in...sometimes, it doesn't work and other times, after 3 or 4 refreshes, it loads.
Any suggested solutions will be appreciated.See:

Can't load Google Calendar. I'm getting this message: "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" but unchecking the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" has not helped. I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 on Mac OS 10.6.3. It's not reported as a generalised problem in Dashboard. Google Calendar opens and works fine on my 12" PowerBook G4, but this is a recent problem on my G5 13" MacBook Pro. Mayday!

When loading a page using Firefox, at the top of the page, I get a mesage telling me "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page - Allow?" This happens almost every time I begin a new page and Firefox will not allow the page to continue uploading. I have to tell it to allow every time, even on pages I've 'allowed' in the past.
The Redirection option is an Accessibility feature for people with Disabilities so that they will know when a page is going to be reloaded. It is not a Security feature.
