Intermittent GPS connection HTC620
I wonder if anyone can provide some help with this:
For approx 50% of the times I try to connect (via GPS) to email or Internet explorer, I am now getting the following messages: (This is regardless of signal strength and happens as often with five bars as much as it does with two)
For email the error message reads:
"Cannot connect to the incoming mail server. Be certain that the server name...&etc"
For Internet Explorer the error message is:
"The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again"
Phone calls and SMS are working fine, as is Wi-Fi connectivity.
I have made no changes to settings, and often if I leave it for thirty minutes, it will work.
Unfortunately I have not had chance to queue for the offshore technical help desk and they had just closed for business when I returned home from work tonight
I hope there is a simple solution as I travel with my work and rely on this very useful little gadget during the day.
I am reluctant to uninstall and re-install all the software and settings, as the handset is in daily use and I am also about 20 months into the contract.

Sounds like your settings for GPRS have been corrupted. Antivirus and other software as add-ons can do this.
The helpdesk is located in Newcastle and they are good: 0800 328 1919. I'd give them a ring, and ask them to go down their scripts for optimum GPRS internet and e-mail settings with you for the 620.

I was getting the same behavior after Apple support had me delete some plist files to get Airplay going. I was also getting the following error:
the error occurred while processing a command of type 'writesettings' in the plug-in 'server vpn'
I went into ~/Library/Preferences/ and /Library/Preferences/ and deleted every plist contating the word server. I had to re-set up my server (meaning walk through some intial steps) but all of my settings were still there after that and everything started working again.
Just a thought, obviously try at your own risk but it worked for me.

I have an ipad3 and an iPhone 4S and I am getting with both devices interruption of the sound when I send music to the Apple TV. It generally happens after a few minutes. The signal for the wifi is still good and I have still access to the Internet I have tried all the recommendations of the article "iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections" but this did not help. I have used several applications for sending music to the Apple TV (music application from Apple and DSAudio from Synology) but I'm getting the same issue. I have also the same issue with the media center application from Bouygues Telecom connecting directly to my internet router. My router is a bbox sensation. I had also the same kind of issue with my old router when sensing photo albums to the internet: I had the error message "your system is running low on ressources". How can I solve these intermittent wifi connection losses ?Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Having intermittent Airport connectivity with a 2010 6 core MacPro. When it works has low bars on status graph. Laptop set up next to it has no connect problems. Airport utility has shown no Airports a couple times when the laptop showed all. When first joined network, staus bar is full, then drops to one or two bars. Would this be an antenna or card being loose? Is it user friendly fix, or bring it to Apple? Thanks in advance.

Will it charge me for using tomtom by the minuete when usung 02 pay and go or not?
The prices for using the internet on my phone are rediculus so hopefullly not.
I assume when using it for a journey it wont be costing me by the minuete to have my tomotm telling me directions via my phone?

ThanksNo it won't cost you anything while you are using TomTom. BUT if you sign up for Traffic which warns you of holdups, accidents etc it will cost about £40 a year payable to TT and any fees payable to 02 for downloading data every quarter of an hour or so. The GPS connection is via Bluetooth so it costs the same as running an earpiece ie nowt! You may well be able to run them at the same time.

Wrt120n Intermittent Wireless Connection For Specific Apple Devices

I recently upgraded my Linksys wrt120n router firmware & had to reconfigure settings. Subsequently, some (but not all) of my apple devices are having intermittent wirelesss connection problems. Specifically, my ipad1 & ipad2 never lose thier connection but a macbook pro (~ 2 years old), iphone 3g, iphone 4, older ipod touch & very old ibook g4 all work for a period of time (usually 1/2 day) & then lose thier connection. When I attempt to reconnect these devices I receive the following error..."unable to join the network xxxxxx....". I also have a Dell laptop (1 1/2 yrs old) that generally does not have the connection problem. Finally, when the devices do lose thier network connection all I have to do to reconnect is go to the Linkys router setup webpage & click on save & the wireless connection works again (almost like this is just refreshing the connection for these specific apple devices). I was not having any problem prior to the firmware upgrade & from what I have read the older firmware version is no longer available so going back to the old firmware does not appear to be an option. You can check the IP address in the following manner:
# Click on Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt.
# A black pop up box should come up, type: "ipconfig /all" …
There check the IP address and Default Gateway under LAN….
# Open up the browser on the desktop and on the address bar type “Address of the Default Gateway” that will open up the Router setup page…
# On the same set up page reduce the MTU size to 1400 from Auto.
# Then Click on wireless Tab select Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, and 11. Click Save Settings.
Secondly avoid using any other wireless devices like cordless phones, microwave oven etc nearer to the router. Then check the wireless connectivity. -

I've a Greatshield keyboard/cover for my ipad, which connects fine via bluetooth but then keeps disconnecting. Anyone have any ideas how to stop this (bar buying a new keyboard/cover)?
I have the same issue with any Bluetooth device. I have a Harman Kardon Bluetooth to audio converter and a Griffin Technologies Beacon. iPad's intermittent Bluetooth connection has made both devices useless. I have to reset Bluetooth to re-connect, after which it will disconnect again anyway. It does look like the device is connected in Settings on the iPad, but it really isn't.

Which means exactly what? One iPad can connect intermittently and one doesn't connect at all? This makes it sound to me like you are having WiFi issues with both of them. At least that's how I interpret your statement.
Start by rebooting your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again. -
Airport Extreme intermittently loses connection with Internet?
I have an Airport Extreme connected to a router that is connected to our cable modem. Internet connection is fine, but the Airport Extreme will intermittently lose connection with the Internet and shows a solid amber light. Turning the Airport Extreme off and then on again will resolve the issue, however, this happens about once per week (at different days/times) and would like to ensure a consistent connection even when I'm not at home. (We are thinking of installing a lighting control system that depends upon a consistent wireless connection to work properly, even when we aren't home to restart the Airport Extreme). Please advise on what the trouble might be and how we can get a permanent resolution to the issue.
Is your Extreme an 802.11g (domed-shape) or 802.11n (squarish) model? Do you have the Extreme connected to the other router by Ethernet? Finally, is the Extreme configured as a bridge, i.e., Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)?

How can I fix an intermittent wifi connection with my MacBook laptop
I have experienced intermittent problems with the wifi connection on my MacBook (2006, 10.6.5 OSX) computer and noticed that other users have commented about this same issue. Not sure if the problem revolves around the updates from Apple or my wifi card but I only seem to loose my wifi connection with the MacBook. I have other Apple products, Iphones, Ipads and IMac and they all retain the wifi connection. Additionally, when I connect the internet cable directly to the MacBook, there is no loss of signal and I have no problem connecting to the Internet.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?After several unsuccessful attempts to resolve my intermittent wifi connection with a 2006 MacBook (I had service techs from Apple store, PeachMac and Computer Advantage check the intermittent wifi problem in store and they could not recreate this issue), I broke down and bought a new wifi card and installed it myself. The intermittent problem was resolved and my wifi connection works fine everywhere in my home. Ifixit's website has a great video that explains in detail how to remove and install a new wifi card and you will need the right tools and patience. Thanks to everyone that posted comments about this issue because the comments proved helpful in solving my problem.

with your attenuation of 132.5 I would expect a connection speed of 20mb+
can you try quiet line test dial 170470 option 2 should be quiet and best with corded phone cordless will be a dull hum

nat (inside,outside) source static any any destination static NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 no-proxy-arp route-lookup
'cause your inside networks are not the same as your vpn-pool subnet.
Plus, if you're trying to reach inside subnets, different from 10.152.11.0 255.255.255.0 (ip from wich subnet is assignet to your inside interface, and for wich above nat exception should be enough), you should check if routing is configured from that subnets to your vpn-pool-subnet through the ASA. -
FiOS Quantum Gateway Router - Intermittent Dropped Connections
I just got this router and incredibly disappointed!! I had the Arcotec.. Excuse my spelling and was having intermittent problems with that but this new a Gateway is herendous!!! I can't believe they charge you a 199 for this. Wifi signal lost constantly. Called tech support.. Now they want to charge me 75 bucks for an extender that they say will help.. Optimum looking better all the time!! Very frustrated.
I am experiencing the exact same issue. My issue also started after i upgraded to their 50/50 plan and swapped out my Actiontech M42xxx for the Quantum Gateway Router. They had me do the following and i am still having the issue. 1. disconnect the coaxial cable and the power from the router2. Reset the fios box in my garage by unscrewing the battery power and removing the battery3. Replaced the router (Verizon did this and the replacement was another Quantum Gateway)4. Fast forward to the beginning of December. I called tech support enough to the point of them sending a tech out to look at it. My ONT was old, and he replaced it. I had hoped that this was the issue, but it wasn't. The drop-offs continued. I again hoped the upgrade in service and router would also fix the issue. Nope... didn't. This 'latest, most powerful' router only has two lights on it, one for wireless signal and the other that looks like a globe. The router sits on my desk, so I can watch the lights. While I am surfing around, the globe light will suddenly flash for about 5-10 seconds. While this is happening, my connection drops/stops, and then resumes a couple of seconds after the globe light stops blinking. I also noticed that the globe light will turn red once in a while, but not nearly as often as the blinking white does. It's not really consistent as to how long I can be online before the connection starts dropping. I haven't honestly watched it for a long period of time (in other words, I don't know if it's still doing it while I'm not at the computer). I just notice it while I'm trying to use the connection. Once the router starts disconnecting, it can happen as often as every few minutes. VERY annoying. My setup is:2 Mac laptops (one used wirelessly and one used wired connected to a display)1 Apple TV (wired)1 Apple Airport Express (wired)1 printer (wired) I don't have any cordless phones, powerline adapters, wifi extenders, or other electronics that might be messing with the signal. I use VPN software but haven't noticed a difference with it on or off (I think). Any thoughts as to what this might be or where to look? Thanks in advance. I am still having the issue. there is obviously an issue and either Verizon knows about it and doesn't want to say they know there is an issue and fix it, or they are too dumb to take the time to find out. Each time i call i give them detailed information on the issue and ask them to check their knowledgebase if its listed as a know issue and they keep saying it's not. The issue happened again tonight, 1/8/15. at first my laptop dropped Internet connection while i was surfing. then i checked my other wi-fi devices and they all lost connection. i then went and checked my wired devices and they too lost connection. I look at the router and this time both the Globe Internet and the Wi-Fi lights were solid white. i looked at the Internet Ethernet light and the bottom light was green. I could have resolved the issue by unplugging the router and plug it in back, but instead i called Verizon so they could see the issue. 10 minutes into the Verizon call queue the Globe Internet light changed from solid white to solid red. 5 minutes later i finally got to speak to a tech. at first he said the box in my garage wasn't connecting to the router and asked me to disconnect the coaxial cable and the power and, according to him, he sent some command and instructed me to connect the coaxial cable and power the router back on. I did that and then the issue went away.I told him the rootcause of the issue was not identified and fixed and the issue would occur again and i needed him to alert engineering or product development about the issue. i then told him its a know issue with the router and he should do a google with "Verizon Quantum Gateway dropping connection" and he would see how many people are having the same issue. I told him Verizon need to take their heads out their A*%%%$ and spend some time and investigate and resolve the issue. Me -

i have a problem with my new nokia 5800 xpress music. my problem is when i baught the phone the GPS is banned in my country (EGYPT) but now it is permissible to use it in my country so i updated my nokia 5800 software withe the nokia software updater to the new firmware version (21.0.025) and i have the same problem which is i can't connect to GPS (the connection indicator is always red ) i can't even locate my postion on the map.
