Intermittent problem receiving email on Centro
I am troubleshooting this for my boss, he has a Centro using VersaMail v4.0.1.00. During business hours his email is sent to his office PC using Outlook from our internal email server. When he is away from the office he closes Outlook and then receives his email with the Centro. The Centro gets a small portion of the email and he decides which messages to download but the messages stay on the server until Outlook downloads them. This system works with his phone as well as a few others using their phones.
The problem is after a day or two with Outlook turned off the Centro fails to receive emails with the following error message

It gets this error message every time UNTIL Outlook is started and downloads the messages from the server. After that the Centro works until the problem repeats itself. This only happens with his phone. I initially thought it was a message count or size issue but doesn’t appear to be the case.

I am having the same problem with my AT&T Centro except the Centro will not get the e-mails even if outlook has downloaded it already. I can send e-mails, but can't receive any. I get the same error code and text. I have even traded in my first Centro for another one and it started having the same problem withing 2 days.
Has anyone had any luck fixing this problem? Please help, this is extremely frustrating!

My blackberry torch will not receive emails on wifi since the latest software update, I've tried numerous wifi networks and several handsets, even had them replaced and received a brand new. Still the same problem.

Having a problem receiving email with Outlook
Hello all:
Just installed a WRT54GS.
I am having a problem receiving email. Sometimes it comes through but most of the time I'm getting am error message 0X8004210A which is a timeout error. I can send email OK.
I have port forwarded 25 and 113 as well as trying to port trigger these.
Using Outlook for my email.

Try to check on your outlook properties...
make sure you have to make sure that you have the correct incoming server.. -

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Problem receiving email via Jetpack
I invested in a Jetpack 4620L last June (2012). When installed on my Dell laptop running windows 7, MS Outlook reported a "send/receive problem" and was not receiving email....send was fine. If I connected via an alternate WiFi service, send and receive worked flawlessly. If I then switched back to Jetpack, email worked perfectly and remained so until I had to reboot when Outlook again would report a "send/receive error" since Jetpack was my default connection. I reported the problem to Verizon tech support who escalated it all the way to the manufacturer and told me it was a known problem and they were working to correct it. That was months ago and I had not heard back from Verizon when I called last weekend on tech support again with no success. Has anyone else encountered this problem?,,,or better yet, found a solution they would be willing to share? They are suggesting it is a Microsoft problem but my instinct and exoerience suggest that, if this were so, Outlook would not behave normally when I connect via an alternate WiFi service, i.e., the connection should not determine the performance of Outlook if it is configured correctly initially. Help???
I have the same problem. After I upgraded to 4.0.2, Yahoo Mail has stopped pushing emails. I downloaded iTunes 10 and synced last night and the effect was worse. I have not received a single email since this morning. I logged on to Desktop Yahoo and I have plenty of new emails. Same thing with Gmail, I did not receive any despite actually having some new ones.
I deleted the email accounts and set them up again and still no luck. I turned off the phone and back on and still no luck. -

I can not receive email from United Airlines! I tested this to isolate the problem in multiple ways- I requested the United flight itinerary be sent (via a web request) to my address at [email protected] and [email protected] and to my @icloud address. None of them worked. Then I had the same itierary sent to a work email address on the same computer and same network and received it no problem. I checked all my junk mail filtering- nothing from United was apparently flagged either on the web-version of macmail or my laptop macmail. Then, I requested United send the iterinary to my husband's @mac.com account- also would not go through! Again, tried same request to my work address- same host (ATT), same hardware, same network, same 5 minutes, same request from United. -- got the itinerary no problem. I could FORWARD the work email containing the United itierary to my @mac address-- got it- same 5 minutes etc. So this has got to be a filtering problem from Apple that they have not told us about! I cannot believe no one else has noticed thisn (see a Yahoo problem that others have reported)! I cant figure out how to let Apple know there is a problem!

Sometime when I am away from home, I can be happily sending and receiving emails on my ipad2. Out of the blue I get a message 'Cannot get email. Username or password invalid'. On returning home it works again. Sometimes I delete the account and readd it and this fixes the problem but I'm getting tired of doing that. Can anyone help please?

Having problems "receiving" email from a friend.
For the past month, I have not been able to receive emails sent to me by a friend. My email address is the same. His address is the same. Nothing has changed. He has a yahoo account. He does not get any indication, or message his email bounced, or failed to deliver. Neither do I. It just doesn't arrive. I am able to send emails to his address. I have been receiving emails from his address for years. Just stopped working. I'm stumped. Any ideas?
i receive test emails to myself just fine. I did discover today that another email my friend sent went to my mobileme junk folder. Another test email he sent went to junk folder on my mac. Previously, I didn't see his emails in my junk folder at all, but they could have been. How do I make sure his email address isn't blocked or marked as junk? Is it as simple as making an entry into my address/contact book? Obviously, I should have already done this, but I haven't done that. Thanks for your response.

Mail 4.5 problem receiving email (imap)
I am using mail 4.5 and all of a sudden have stopped receiving emails. my iPhone continues to receive but not my laptop. Connection Doctor shows all green. I can still send an email but it seems to take a while. I have a consistent spinning gear next to the mailbox that won't respond. Ideas?

Problem receiving email using database control
Hi all,
I'm new to using EM and trying to configure it so I can receive email notifications when tablespace is getting full. I'm only using "Database Control" not Grid control.
Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control 10.2.0.0
I was able to successfully receive email using "Test Mail Servers" in Notification Methods.
I already defined my rule and was able to specify "Tablespace Used %" metrics.
I already defined a schedule so that mails are sent to my email.
To test, i created records on one table until it's 100%.
I do get alerts with EM Database Control but no mail.
I logged in as sysman into the database being monitored (there is no repository because this is database control), I don't see any rows in mgmg_notification_log.
Does anybody know if email notification only works in "Grid Control" not "Database Control"?
I'd appreciate any assistance.Grid Control has hundreds of email alerts already setup that you can use , but I pretty sure you need to buy
that pack for email alerts to keep them in service after you evaluate. -

I have windows and iMac (main computer) on a network. I am only receiving emails on windows Outlook. If I shot down windows, then all the emails go to iMac. I am using POP accounts, is there a way to fix that?

That is the way the POP protocol works. By default when an email gets downloaded to a computer that email is deleted from the server. So the downloaded email is no longer available on the server for the next connecting computer to download.
There are three possible solutions.
1. Configure your POP clients on each computer to leave a copy of the email on the server after downloading.
2. Use IMAP instead of POP. IMAP allows syncing of email between multiple computers and the email server.
3. Use your email server's webmail interface instead of POP or IMAP. Using the web interface allows you to access your email from any computer. -
I can send but cannot receive email in Mail (3.2). My ISP (Comcast) tells me there's nothing wrong at their end. Have checked all settings on accounts menu, everything seems fine. Can not figure it out. Any advice?
Thanks for this suggestion. Just tried it and I was able to get my mail so Comcast is right. It must be something on my end....settings, something wrong with the way the account is set up. Maybe I should delete the account and start over?
