Intermittent Router Connection Past Several Days

We had two one-hour power failures over the holidays, the last one on Christmas morning at 2 am.  Since then, my ActionTec router has had an intermittent connection to the internet.  It loses connectivity and the yellow light flashes for a minute or two, and then it reconnects.  This happens several times a day.  Is this happening to other folks in Keller, TX, or do I have a hardware problem?  Please let me know.  Thanks.  Mark

Just to follow up, it has now been almost a month since my ONT was replaced, not one single failure since, everything has been as solid as a rock. So at least in my case it definitely was the ONT.

  • WRT350N, Loses Internet Connection after several days of working.

    My WRT350N worked fine for 4 days after instalation then stoped communicating with my Linksys modem.  I returned my first WRT350N to Best Buy after a day of troubleshooting, and several calls to Comcast, my cable  provider.. Assuming I had a bad router I got a replacement, and after 3 days the replacement router did the same thing, losing its internet connection.  I found it pecular that I could connect to the router. it looked like it was connected to the modem, but would not make an internet connection, even after restarting my Linksys BEFCMU10 Cable Modem and router several times.   I could only make a connection if I pluged my computer directly into the modem.  I also check for firmware updates and at the time there were no firmware updates.I returned my second WRT350N to Best Buy requesting a refund and re-installed my original WRT54GS.  Does the latest version of firmware resolve this specific problem?  Judging by the inquires on this forum, it would appear that alot of users are experenceing this same problem.  I really like the Idea of the Storage Link, but I think I will wait till they work out there problems with the WRT350N, before I buy another Linksys product.

    I suffer from the exact same problem you describe ever since I bought my WRT350N 3 weeks ago. I do not have a solution for you unfortunately. Maybe if everyone with a WRT350N with this problem chimes in here, Linksys will take note.

  • TS1559 Wifi will NOT turn on for the past several days except for a brief period of approximately 2 days.

    My wifi stays greyed out and dim and will not turn on.  For a little bit it did turn on but would NOT recognize the wifi in our home, although all other devices did without an issue.  I've tried all the solutions I've found on here and nothing is working to solve my problem.  (i.e., restarted my phone, my modem, reset my network settings, backed up my phone and restored it and still nothing!)  Very frustrated!!!  Apple support says it must be a hardware issue and I will have to take it in for a repair which since I'm just past my one year mark, will cost $199.00.
    How can it be a hardware issue if for a brief period the wifi worked for about two days before it again went dim and won't work???  Any help or suggestions would be extremely appreciated as I'm not a very techy person and I'm baffled!

    P.S.  My phone is an iphone 4 and is updated to the current version.

    Your iPhone doesn't require as much power to charge as your iPad needs so there is a possibility that the charge could have a problem even though you were able to charge the phone. If you can try a different power adapter and still have no luck, then the only thing left - IMO - is to contact Apple support and see what they advise.

    I'm not trying to be a nitpicker - but what you described is a hard reset and your post gave no indication that you tried a software restore - which I referenced in my post. That's why I suggested the restore.
    Many times restoring the iPad to factory settings can help "revive" the device. If you have tried restoring according to the two support articles that I directed you to and still have no success, you are probably out of luck getting any further help on this site. That's all that you can try at this point at least AFAIK.

  • Actiontec MI424WR Router Connection Problems

    Over the past several days I have continued to have intermittent internet connection problems. All my computers are wired eithernet connections to the Verizon FIOS Actiontec router. I called FIOS tech support yesterday and they were no help, the said they found no problems with the connection.  The tech support said it was most liley a problem with using Dell Computers as most problems that he has had to troubleshoot were Verizon Customers who used Dell Computers.  Well I have 3 Dell Computers and 2 are VIsat and 1 XP...All have the same intermittent internet connection problesms.   I notice that wihle  tying to connect to a webpage the Actiontec router looses connection, the WAN Coax and Internet lights go out.  It take the router 10 -30 secs to reconnect to the internet. I have re-booted and also have performed a hard re-set of the Actiontec router, same problem still ocurring again today. It has ocurring on all 3 computers and there is no specific website. Just a couple a minutes ago lost conneciton while reviewing the football scores on ESPN.com.
    Does this look like bad router or NAT Address problem that people are talking about.

    The first thing I would check is your coax connections.  You shouldn't be loosing your Coax wan connection.  Check it there are any old splitters on the coax, check the ends and make sur ethey aren't cruddy crimped connectors.  If everything is new I would call the fsc and tell them that your loosing your wan coax light and arrange to have a field tech visit.  It could be something as simple as wiring or something more involved such as replacing your ont.

    For the past several days, while all other websites work as fine as before on Firefox, Wikipedia works very badly: it responds very slowly and often gets stuck half-way before opening a page. I have tried several solutions but the problem recurs. On a different platform, Safari is connecting fine. Any suggestions?

    Hi All,
    I am using CR2008 and designer to create a report. I am having a question regarding timeframe.
    I want to return a result within a timeframe in the past several days.
    I have a date range and time range parameters for user to specify a date range and time frame within the days. For instance return the results in the past 10 days between 6:30 AP to 4:30PM
    I know the below works for a pair of start/end date.
    {table.field} in {?Date Range}
    I am wondering if anyone know how to create formula in Select Expert to handle the time frame in a date range?

    If you have a date/time field create two new time parameters start time and end time:
    Then change your record selection to:
    ({table.field} in {?Date Range})
    AND
    (Time ({table.field}) >= {?StartTime} and Time ({table.field}) <= {?EndTime})

    Issues like this are going to be related to the network. Intermittant problems are typically due to network interference, have you checked istumbler.net to get a report of your network?

  • No connection to EDGE network for past two days

    Has any other iPhone users lost connection to the EDGE network for the past two days? I lost mine on Sunday night and have not had it back since.

    Nope, no 'E' in the menu bar. Turned the phone off/on several times to no avail. Now on my AT&T plan I have an additional line added for $9.99 (Family Talk Plan). On Sunday night I added 200 text messages for $5.00 to that other line.
    I am not sure if by doing this my iPhone will lose connection to the EDGE network. That's the only thing I can think of that I could have screwed up myself. But why AT&T would make it so that a customer could do this to themselves is odd.
    Thoughts?

  • Internet connectivity issues for past 3 days

    Hi, I live in Westchester county and since past 3 days, I have no internet connectivity in the evenings. Internet works fine early morning though. Called tech support every day. On second day, the tech support helped us figure out there was an outage in the area and someone from the techical dept was fixing it..Internet started working and all was fine..
    But again yesterday, same issue. Called tech support again and this time they could tell me if it is an outage or something else is broken..
    If someone is facing the same issue, any information provided would be helpful

    This issue is still persisting. A Technician had come in on Friday and basically found nothing wrong..told me that the router is fine..issue might be somewhere else.
    worked fine over the weekend and again broke down last night..had to call again and that customer service representative was of no help and didnt even schedule the appointment correctly for today.
    I am strongly thinking of cancelling the service very soon.

    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

    Reset all settings
    Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
    This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

    It should not take more than 4 hr.   Is there any indication it is making process?  i.e.  When you click on it to play do you get a message like "Will be avialable in 2hr 34 min"?  Is that time changing?  I would cancel the download.  Restart ATV and then retry.  If it goes more than 4hr then there is an issue. 
    As another option you can always download the movie to your computer and use the iTuens menus to play it from your computer under the Computers icon.
