Intermittent TXT Messaging Issue

Within the last 2 weeks I have been having an intermittent, but increasing txt messaging issue with people. It started by them recieving jumbled messages at fir and has now morphed into them not always getting my txt messages. I have cleared all the caches, restarted the device numerous times, change from messages to normal messages. Even turned on the delivery reports (which don't come back either) when sending if the message doesn't go through. I have been using the phone with no issue since it shipped and have only started having this issue with the last couple of weeks and as of last night a msg they sent me took 3 hrs. to arrive. Any help would be appreciated as it mainly affects the prson I txt most and is very annoying and unreliable. If I can't communicate with this person I may have to switch carriers.

It's important that your text messages are working properly, gurv07728. I appreciate the steps that you have taken on your own. Are you using the default text message application? If you send a message to yourself do you receive it right away?

Txt Messaging issues

Hi everyone, here is what happens to me, I used to have handcent SMS app and sometimes the texts I sent had symbols or things I never wrote or blank txt, now I have a new droid, I didn't get the app, I'm using regular droid txt app and the same thing is happening, but I have the feeling that is when I use the predefined smile faces that comes with the droid, and specially is with other iphone users, how can I fix this. I hate when the don't understand my txt.
Here is a sample that what happens:

Some other android user was experiencing the same problems with symbols in the text. Dial *228 + send from your phone. Press option 1.

Cannot send txt messages from my iPhone to a android galaxy gear 3

My husband switched from an iPhone to a galaxy note three and kept his old cell number. Now he cannot receive texts from any other iPhones including mine.
Research on Internet indicates this is common issue when an iPhone user switches to an android device and keeps old number from iPhone! Problem does not happen with new android devices .any workable solution known? So far suggestions in forums have not helped. APPLE store personnel uninformed reissue,as well as Best Buy personnel.

Looks to me like the question has indeed been asked 500 times or more...but still looks to me like many still have unresolved solutions if they have more than one Apple device. I've been attempting to follow advice giving in forum conversations...still, no luck. I had turned off imessage on old IPHONE before, then unregistered my old iphone, but still can not get txt messages from any of my friends who have an iphone...not one. I do have several other Apple devices..an IMAC, an MAC BOOK PRO, an IPAD 2 and an IPAD3 still on my same Apple Account that my old phone was on. Is this now the problem

Spinning circle * Thunderbird is not responding when I try to write or access emails. I had attempted to delete a bunch of old txt messages in seldom used Gmail

I saw I had almost 30,000 txt messages on a Gmail account that I had created a gmail account for on Thunderbird. I didn't realize that they were going here from Gmail. I highlighted all of them and attempted to delete them. The spinning circle finally went away and all of them were gone. But when I tried to do anything else on Thunderbird with my regular email accounts (Comcast & Hotmail), I would get a spinning circle and Thunderbird is not responding. I had to use Ctrl Alt Del and then reopen. I tried compacting but this morning when I tried to write an email from one of my Comcast emails in Thunderbird, again I got the spinning circle and Thunderbird is not responding. In order to do anything, I have to close the program by hitting Crrl Alt Del and try again.
My Trash Local folders says 8300.
This morning, when I tried accessing Thunderbird at the bottom of the taskbar it said, "downloading....of 17,000 to All Mail. Had no clue what that meant. I let it continue until all were and thought my issue would be resolved. But no. :(
Something obviously got corrupted in the program. What do I need to do to fix this?

Unable to send or download Txt messages with pictures (mms)

Unable to send or receive mms txt messages. Even have turned off phone, remove battery for 30 plus seconds with no success. How can I resolve this issue?

I have tried clearing the cache, I have tried the factory reset, I have no 3rd party messaging apps and have done noting different with my phone that I have been doing the last 6 months.

I regret to learn of any issues after the software update. Let's check some things out on your phone! Does the text message say who it came from? Is it a contact you message on a regular basis? Are you using the messaging application that came with the device, or a 3rd party application?
I recommend deleting any unneeded messaging threads and then powering the device off/on. Keep me posted!

Recieving txt messages on both Iphones 4s

I have a Iphone 4s and my husband just got one. My txt messages are being sent to both of our phones. How do I turn his off for recieving my txt messages?

This is a very common issue when more than one Apple product exists in the home. Did the steps from gina7239 correct the trouble? If not please check if the devices are set up with the same Apple ID. Messaging with iMessages goes through the Apple ID and if both devices use the same one, then both devices will get the same messages. To get your husbands device with a different ID, please follow the steps on http://bit.ly/uBfksa and set it up as a new device. Please keep us posted.

Not receiving all SMS txt messages from other carriers

I've noticed that i'm not receiving some txt messages from what appears to be Verizon customers.... it happens during pockets of time. I have not been able to track the exact timeframes. is anyone else having sporadic issues receiving SMS from other carriers? i know of atleast 3 friends that have replied to messages from me that i never received the response.

I'm curious. Did you port your number from Verizon when you activated the iphone? I was having the same problem with not being able to receive text messages from my Verizon friends. It turns out Verizon didn't completely disable my number on their end even though the phone number was ported. It took someone from technical support at AT&T to call Verizon while was on the phone and explain the problem to Verizon. Verizon then disconnected my number on its end and it wasn't until then that I started receiving text messages from Verizon users.

Text messaging is my main form of communication so I understand how important it is to make sure you can consistently send and receive them. Let's keep those messages flowing.
When you say outside the network, do you mean people on other carriers? Are these users all on the same carrier? Do you know what kind of devices they have? Can you send to Verizon customers ok? What zip code are you having these issues in?

Exchange 03 to txt message

i recently had an issue and we haven't changed anything at all on our end but we used to be able to send and receive text messages from our outlooks to a txt message on a phone recently within the last three weeks we can no longer do that it just sits in our Queue and exchange doesn't allow the message to go out but the user with the phone number who sends a message in with the [email protected] can send the message inbound to someone to they can receive it and open it but they cannot reply to the message can someone please help or has experienced a similiar issue how was it fixed

Have her text you first, using her new phone. See if it registers as a Text after that.

Important software update txt message

Anyone else get this txt message from at&t saying "An important update for iphone 3g has been available on itunes since this past monday. to get it, simply synch your iphone 3...."
That update didnt seem to be that big of a deal. But a txt message to inform people. Must be more important then we think.

I also received the text message, Boston area. It must have been nationally broadcast, or else there would be no purpose.
Is the implication that people who acquired new 3G connectivity issues with the last update and people whose 3G issues pre-dated the last update will both see a correction when everyone has updated their iPhone?
If ATT is smart, they know that they will lose customers to T-Mobile and Android or some other 3G phone. There are certainly enough people on these boards with 1st generation iPhones watching the situation and wondering if the upgrade will be worth it, it seems. Besides, the rumored T-Mobile 3G data plans are significantly cheaper than ATTs, and T-Mobile has more experience with 3G than ATT.

Txt messaging problems

Hey,
Im having issues sending txt messages from my Iphone. I send a msg to a contact and it shows the msg as sent but for some reason the contact is not always recieving the msg. Anyone know why, or what I can do to solve the solution?

Does your friend have issues with texts from anyone else? Might be worth them replacing their SIM card. Are they on AT&T as well?

After Lollipop update txt messaging stuck on "sending"

Anyone having issues with txt messaging after installing lollipop? reset the phone to default and yet still every other txt message is stuck on "sending".

I get this same problem several times a day. I text constantly so this can be very frustrating. I try clearing the RAM and it sometimes helps. Other times I have to restart my phone. Did not have this problem before the lollipop update. Have done a couple of FDRs. I've just resigned to dealing with it until I can upgrade my phone.
