Internal alarm going off

Hello,
When I start sharing on Qmaster and send a job from Compressor to it an internal alarm on my Mac Pro (early 2009) goes off, which is something new but now it's happening every time. I monitor my cores and right after they start peaking the alarm happens. Is anyone familiar with this?
I've searched on this but can't find anything, nor can I even find anything about an internal alarm on the Mac, all I get in my searches is alarm clock software.
Dave

Good questions! Some folks have acceptable readings with CoreCenter, by verifying them with the Hardware Monitor (in BIOS). I compared them with my SpeedFan program, and as far as temps go..I use a laser temp gun to check CPU, case, and video card temps. Voltages on the PSU can be verified with a voltmeter of course. The specifications on your NB fan should be in your manual. Or you can check out this thread at Anandtech:

  • Is there a way to stop the brightness from going up when alarm goes off?

I have an iPhone 5s running iOS 7.0.6. I plug it in at night next to my bed and use it as an alarm clock. I am running the NiceClock app because it has a great black background with slim red clock numbers (doesn't throw a lot of glare). I am using the built-in Clock app that comes with the current iOS as the alarm (NiceClock, while great for a simple bedside clock with no glare, does not come with an alarm). I set my iPhone's brightness on the lowest possible setting to keep the backlight glare down. It's great. Low glare, and I can still see the time if I wake up in the middle of the night without having to fumble with the iPhone. My problem is when the alarm goes off the brightness level jumps up to maximum. Is there a way to prevent the brightness level of the iPhone from changing when the alarm goes off?

Yes the calendar is gone. I guess it is the notification center I am referring to that comes down when I accidently swipe the top of the screen. Is there a way to stop of notification center from coming down if you swipe the screen? I figured out how to stop the control center from coming up if you swipe the bottom on the screen. Now I just need to figure out how to stop the top of the screen from doing the same thing

  • 'Get info' does not open after alarm goes off

Using iCal, before an alarm goes off, I'm able to 'get info'/'edit' the event, but after an alarm goes off, I'm unable to edit the event unless I quit and reopen the app. Any ideas why and how to resolve?

I posted this over a week ago. Does anyone have an idea how to rectify this. I can't be the only one having this problem!

To cause Mail to display outgoing attachments as icons instead of in-line, you can open Terminal.app and insert this command:
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 1
To enable in-line attachments again once disabled (so attachments again appear as documents displayed in-line, not icons):
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 0

  • Get a Boolean When a DSC Alarm Goes Off

    Hello LabVIEWers!
I've got probably 30 shared variables that I'm monitoring and logging using the DSC module.  I'm starting to use the alarms functionality and what I'd like to be able to do is run some code that sends my team a text / email when an alarm goes off.
It seems to me the easiest way to do this would be to somehow monitor the alarms and produce a T/F value that I can use to run a case structure.  For whatever reason I'm not seeing how to do this easily.  Is there a VI I'm missing?  I just want to be able to produce a True value when the variable is in alaram and a False value when it's not.
    Thanks for the help!

  • My iPhone 4 takes pictures when phone rings and alarm goes off.

My camera flash goes off when I receive an incoming call and when my alarm goes off.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
Have you tried ALL the troubleshooting steps?  If you have and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible exchange.

  • Nano crashes (reboots) when alarm goes off

When the alarm goes off on my Ipod it just reboots and shows the Apple logo.
I have the language set to Swedish but when I set the language to English the alarm works without any problems, so my guess is that it's something with the firmware.
    So here is my questions:
    Is anyone experiencing similar problems?
Is it possible to reinstall the latest firmware, just to make sure it's installed correctly?
Can anyone test to set the language to Swedish and see if it happens for you too?
    I have a Nano 3g with v.1.1 PC version.

Ok, then I guess it's a well known bug (at least in Sweden) now when we at least have three iPods with the same problems. So I guess we just have to wait for a firmware that fixes this issue.
I reported it as a bug to Apple (if they care), so let's hope they can fix it until the next update.
Thanks for your answer and if anyone else is having this problem maybe they can let us know in this thread. It would also be interesting if someone that has the language set to Swedish still can use the alarm (reminders) without it crashing.

  • Alarm going off again, one hour afterwards

I have an alarm set for each weekday morning at around 6:15am... and this has always gone off without any issues, but I have this strange bug.
An hour or more later, the alarm goes off again. Just this morning, my alarm went off again at around 7:50am. I hit snooze a couple times until ~6:30, like I do every morning, and then I closed the alarm this morning (didn't snooze) and it sucesfully silenced the alarm... until 7:50am.
I do not have any other alarms. I've had this issue before, although it's inconsistant and sporatic (sometimes going off 20-30 minutes afterwards, sometimes closer to 8am again), so I deleted my alarm and recreated it last week. It was perfectly fine up until today. Very confusing.

I had the same problem ever since we switched back to winter time. I had the iphone (3GS) set to automatically set the time. Now I switched off the automatic set up and I chose the correct time zone and everything is working again.

  • Clock alarm goes off even when selected to off position

Updated my iPhone4 with IOS 7.2 and now the clock alarm still goes off even with the on/off selector in the off position.  I deleted the alarm and re-entered it and it still does this.  Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

Hello!  I recently got the ihome ih11 and was having the same problem on and off. I found out that even though the manual says the ipod has to off and docked for the ipod to go off on alarm,  but I learned ipod does need to be on, but closed out play mode on home screen. Since doing this I've woke to my ipod every morning. Try it and see if that works. I have the ipod touch 2nd generation. Hope this helps!

  • Alarm goes off  after selected date on calendar

its not a major issue but every time i set an event with an alarm to go off (1 hr before, 2 days before, etc.) it goes off at the selected time, but an hour after the event it says "event, 1 hr. ago" then the next day the alarm will sound "event, 1 day ago" and will move from weeks to months. My friend birthday goes off every 24th of the month and that was in june! On november 21st it will surely say:"persons birthday, 5 mothns ago." deleting the event does work, but i dont want to forget next year! This happens to all the events i post with alarms/reminders. Anyone know the source of the problem?

I have been out of town for a while so I'm uncertain if I should post here or start a new thread, but . . .
:shocking:Finally, I discovered what the warning beep coming from my computer was.  Initially, I thought that the warning was coming from my motherboard, perhaps as a result of overheating.  It really put a scare in me as I just built this hot box about two months ago.  I posted my problem on this forum and received some fine suggestions.  Among which was to get a copy of "SpeedFan."  I really like speed fan; especially the options for viewing the temps & graphs for the system, CPU, NB & my SMART HD1.  Thanks guys.
However, nothing seemed wrong with my temps or voltage.  Still got the warning beep when I turned on my URU game.  Couldn't figure it out!  Finally, I happened to be in back of my computer where all the wires are connected and noticed a red LED on my UPS blazing away.  It should not have been on.  The red LED was a low battery warning.  I have had the UPS for five years and the battery finaly gave out.  What happens when the battery is low and fails the periodic SAFE test is that it gives a high pitched warning beep; this occurs every six hours until the battery is recharged or replaced.
In addition, (I think) I had too many devices plugged into the UPS so when the game required extra juce to do particularly intensive work, it overtaxed the UPS requiring battery support at which time, the warning beep commenced.
I have ordered a new battery which should arrive any day and, hopefully, the problem is resolved.
Again, thanks for the help.  It was much appreciated.

  • Alarm going off!

The alarm is not set, the sound is turned off, yet, the alarm keeps going off! I work in a school and this is NOT COOL! Please help if you can!

    Hey there avanoy,
It sounds like you have all alarms turned off but an alarm keeps going off. I would start by closing the running apps on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone, then test to see if the issue is resolved:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

  • New iPhone 4 doesn't always sound or vibrate when the alarm goes off

I use the alarm every morning. This morning, when I woke up two hours late, I looked at my iPhone and saw that the screen showed that the alarm was going off. But there was zero sound or vibration being produced which is what it usually does.
I immediately went into a game app that I know produces sound to make sure nothing was wrong with the speakers and it was fine.
This is the second time this has happened in two weeks. The first time was with a recurring alarm. This morning was with a one-time only alarm.
Anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?
    Thanks.

    STILL NOT **&&!*** WORKING, APPLE.
    how hard can this be?
"It just works!"  No.  It doesn't.
