Internal bluetooth can't scan for devices.

Hi
I got an Acer Aspire E1-572G with an internal bluetooth device which i can't get working.
The device shows up fine when i run "hciconfig -a":
hci1: Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB

LMP Version: 4.1 (0x7) Subversion: 0x1

However when i try to scan  for devices, nothing shows up.
When i use an usb bluetooth adapter, the device I'm trying to find (an bluetooth GPS right now, but it's the same for other devices) shows up just fine.
When running lsusb, the device is listed as
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04ca:300b Lite-On Technology Corp.
Is somebody able to help with getting it working?
Kind Regards
Stefan

Hi John,
Did your bluetooth was turned off, turn it back on if that is the problem.
Also go to system preference > Hardware > Bluetooth > setting and check everything back especially Show Bluetooth status at menubar.
Good Luck.

You can find the Apple Bluetooth card on eBay for as little ten dollars (says its for the 2008 model Mac Pro, not sure about the 2007).

Here is a link to a full explanation of the card and how to install it. Part numbers may differ a bit as that is an old article and newer models have come out.

Just make sure that the part will work in your model Mac Pro. To that end, you may be better off avoiding eBay and going to a parts reseller. There are even third party cards that use the internal Apple bluetooth slot.

In theory, using a USB or PCI card will work at login so long as it is recognized by Apples drivers. You say you need to launch an application to use your current USB Bluetooth dongle? If it is not controlled by the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar then it must be using a third party driver of some sort. Unfortunately, I don't know off hand which USB and PCI cards are supported.

  • Bluetooth continuing to search for devices  in jeep hand free

I paired the iphone 3g to my jeep "u conect" hands free, it paired ok but every time I go out of the car the iphone will never be available, tried a different phone and my car system work great, how can i fix the Bluetooth continuing to search for devices and will not conect to the car system

What year is your Jeep? There are a couple of other threads here regarding chyrsler (and other ) vehicles not connecting with phones that have software version 2.0 or higher.
As best as I can tell, it affects 2007 and later chrysler vehicles with Uconnect but not the MyGig system (supposedly there is a patch that you can use to update the MyGig software that may or may not work).
I spoke with an apple tech support person and he couldn't help. They didn't have anything in his help files to fix the problem and he actually turned to the message boards to get more info.
That being said, like someone else said, take the time to fill out some feed back.

If you look at the rest of the bluetooth forum...there are tons of blue tooth issues out there. Might speculate that the only way to make the chrysler issue a priority is to make yourself heard. I personally don't know if there is a better method than the above feedback tool. But, if there is, I'd like to know.
If you are 2006 and earlier...according to others on here, you should be able to get it to work.

  • Error: "can not scan for wireless networks" 1st gen iphone running 3.1.2

My iphone will no longer scan for wireless networks. I am running an airport network via my imac and the rest of the computers, as well as two iphone 3GS phones can see it, but my 1st Gen iphone now gives me the error "can not scan for wireless networks". I have done the Home + Power button thing, reset the network settings and no help yet.
    Any suggestions?

OK. There are reports of bad wifi chips, but lets try some more things first.
I assume your router is set to b/g compatible & not "n" only, correct? The iphone only works on g. Next, try this: Shut down the WiFi, and turn off "Ask to Join Networks". Then turn the iPhone completely off, by holding the top button down until the red slider came up, slid it off, and wait a few moments.
Turn the phone back on, then turn on the WiFi, and then "Ask to Join Networks".
    See if that helps.

  • My HP Deskjet 2050 J510 can NOT scan for my MBA.

My HP Deskjet 2050 J510 can NOT scan with my MBA. It could not print before I download the printer driver as described in the below link...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4670
    After install the printer drive...
Now the printing function works fine, but the scan function won't work. Could anyone give me a suggestion to make both printing and scanner functions work?
    Thank you
    Bill

Try to re-install the drivers and software for the printer.
You can also try to run the print and scan doctor, and see if it will auto-fix it.

  • Bluetooth continuing to search for devices

I have a new Jawbone headset which has paired fine with my iPhone 3G. However, the "Devices" status is continuing to spin in search of other bluetooth devices and won't stop. I'm concerned this will kill my battery. My assumption was that after pairing with the headset, it would stop searching.
Any ideas on how to get it to stop searching for devices?
    Thanks.

It searches for discoverable devices +while you are in Settings > General > Bluetooth+, and for a brief period of time after that. It does not continue after that and will not drain your battery. Of course, if you go to Settings > General > Bluetooth to check, it will start searching - sort of like checking to see if the fridge light is off by opening the door.

Then make sure the device you're trying to pair with is supported and is in pairing (discoverable) mode.
What exactly are you trying to pair with?

  • My bluetooth can't find my device

I have a iphone 4s, the bluetooth is turned on but it won't see my car device.  I just switched from Samsung to the iphone; Samsung can see the device why can't iPhone?

Your Bluetooth device in the car probably needs a firmware upgrade.  Contact the manufacturer of that device to find out if there is a firmware upgrade that will allow it to work with your iOS... which, by the way, if you have an iPhone 4S, is NOT 6.1.4.  Update your profile with the correct information.

phushing mean they send you to a fake webpage and get you to type in your login and password for some other service which you believe to be on's page and snap! they got your username and password and can absuse it it has nothing to do with your phone or computer or the likes being hacked
it's just them asking for your username and password and you maybe providing it for them
