Internal Constraints in CC 3D
I am trying to find out where the internal constraints are in CC, the only inf seems to be for CS 5 Extended, I know that Repousse is replaced by 3D extrusion but there does not seem to be anyplace to do internal constraints. There are several other changes that are difficult or impossible to correlate too, is there a document that maps the changes between CS5 and CC for 3D? I see the response that says this is no longer available in CS 6 but that response says that the type of internal constraint can be changed and I cannot find that either.

I think I found out.
I made a simple 3D animation in CS5 Extended (blue donut turning "in space" against a red background). It worked.
Opened the document in CS6 CC, timeline showed, it worked.
Opened the document in CC, no timeline and it does not work (of course).
This must be the same thing as what I was asking here some months ago. Might it be so that CC 32 bits does not support video?
I make a keyframe, I move the playhead, I move the donut, no second keyframe appears. Of course not, if CC 32 does not support video: making the second keyframe implies that PS produces video.

Need help with 3D repousee (path/sub path help)
i've ran out of options. i've looked and searched everywhere so i'm publicly begging for help. ok, here's the situation... my parents went away on a weeks vacation (just a joke for those of us in our 30's).
i made 2 text layers. on a capital B and on the left side is a P (flipped horizontally). i created a work path for each of the letters and then combined them both so that the stem of the B and P are shared (the whole object is one item-- it's all continuous. no gaps, just 3 holes that need to be punched out.
so, i managed to create the work path, but most of the time the "internal constraints" option isn't available. i read everywhere about how "sub paths" are used to signify where the object is to be punched through; however, i haven't found a link anywhere that says how to create a sub path in Photoshop (i found a couple of links on how to do this in Illustrator, but i don't have Illustrator). i did finally manage to create the outer path as a single path and then combined the 3 separate holes as one object and pasted it inside this same path (i copied the inner holes into the outer path layer of this object).
FYI, in case you need to know this, the 3 holes where not physically connected, but they were all in on path layer (so i guess you could call them grouped together). i tried every combination i could think of-- copying one path to a new path layer with each hole on their own path layer (and many other probably ridiculous combinations) with no luck.
i am extremely comfortable in Photoshop and know my way around it well; but, i'm not that proficient in using Adobe's vector options (i learned my vector graphics in Macromedia Freehand and haven't yet converted to Illustrator; nor do i have Freehand installed either). i even used to create 3D solid models in ACAD and 3D Studio Max and others, but alas, don't have it. so, i would like to start improving my Adobe path skills so that i can quit yelling and picking fights with my computer (she wins everytime). a special thanks to anyone who made it this far; you are indeed a gentleman/woman and a scholar!i forgot to mention, i also tried to convert the object (the outer path and the 3 separate holes) to a shape layer, but once again after going to "repousee" the "internal constraints" option is grayed (greyed) out.

If using CS5 Extended can somebody please tell me how do i get the inner part of a square or a triangle or similar shape to extrude? everytime i cut out a middle section in 2d when i go to transform it to 3d it remains there and only the outside of the shape extrudes. Like in the image below for example i need the middle to be open in 3D as well as the outsides?
One way is to make a selection of the object and the inside (white part in this case)
You don't have to cut the selection, just go to 3D>Repousse>Current Selection.
Then in the Repousse dialog, under Internal Constraints set Type to Hole -
Could you please prepare a more understandable reference PDF for the 2014 release?

I learned many subjects of Ps by just reading the reference PDF in the past, but now it is impossible.
"Drawing and painting" section begins with "Modify shapes" !!
"3D and technical imaging" section begins with "3D painting" !!
Now, I try to learn to create internal constraints in 3D, but the reference says "choose 3D>Repousse>..."
There is no repousse in 2014 release under the 3D menu !!
I could not find how to create an internal constraint in the 2014 release of Ps.
If the downloading link of it says that it is the reference of Ps 2014 release, why do you fill it with a lot of information for the ealier versions?
I've never seen before ... the reference of Ps so messy, so disordered, so carelessy done.It's a disgrace, yes.

Repoussé, 3D and shapes within shapes
I'm new to using repoussé in photoshop and I found a video that explains how to punch holes in 3d objects made with repoussé from paths or selections(http://layersmagazine.com/3d-internal-constraints.html).
My problem is I have a logo which is basically a shape inside a circle (only the outline of the circle) something like this "©" and if i try to punch a hole between the circle and the center shape, photoshop says :
"cannot change this constraint to hole because it contains other constraints"
From what I understood so far it is impossible to change a constraint to hole if it leaves a shape in the middle not touching the outer part of the 3d object.
I hope I got it wrong and that there is a simple way to do this.
If you think this is an interesting question try and make a 3d "©" using repoussé in photoshop and let me know how it goes.
ThanksOne way is to make the paths, selections, etc on separate layers, turn each into 3d repousse, then merge the layers.
After you merge them you can move each object on it's own by selecting the mesh from the 3d panel and using the Mesh Rotate Tool to move, scale, etc. -
CS5 3D Questions - Twisted Figure 8 Immersion of a Klein Bottle
I need a 3d representation of a twisted figure 8 immersion of a Klein Bottle. That is a torus made from a figure 8 cross section rather than a circle cross section, with a 180 degree twist from start/finish to where the torus joins back on itself. The final image can be recognized as a mobius strip made from tori, or as an immersion (similar to projection) from 4d space it is a solid with only one surface (inside and outside surface continuous) and no edges - a special case of a Klein Bottle.
Don't worry about the math if that is not your thing. You can get an idea of what I am trying to achieve from the Illustrator and Photoshop files in the zip file found at:

The final image needs to be an ellipse rather than a circle and needs to be stretched out so it has a lot of empty space in the middle. It also needs surface texture and certain surface features.
Originally I tried to do it in Illustrator using the 3d capabilities there. I did it using 3 tori with a clipping mask and layering to get the front torus to appear to join the middle torus then to join the back torus. I could get the proportions right, But as soon as I tried to map artwork onto the shapes I immediately ran into what seemed to be insurmountable stitching and shape problems. See the klein.ai Illustrator file from the zip file link above for the proportions I am trying for.
Next I tried Photoshop's 3d capabilities. It was surprisingly easy to get some form of twisted figure 8. The surface texture works perfect. I can do the surface distortions I need using the repoussé tool Internal Constraints. The problem is I can no longer get the overall proportions correct. See the klein.psd Photoshop file in the zip file link above for how a simplified version looks so far.
Is there any way to stretch the 3d mesh out like a rubber band such that the hole in the center is larger without the diameter of the figure 8 solid itself expanding?
The repoussé widget for choosing a point around which to bend the figure 8 360 degrees into a torus only allows points within the figure 8 itself. Essentially I need to bend around a point outside the figure 8.
Illustrator allowed this using the “Offset” option of 3d Revolve. But I can see no way in Photoshop.
Is there any way to distort the 3d image into an ellipse while maintaining the same cross section proportions of the figure 8 torus itself?
I can of course put the 3d mesh into a smart object and then scale just vertically. However, this of course also scales the cross section of the torus itself, not just the overall shape of the torus.
In Illustrator I achieved it by setting the 3d Revolve perspective to zero (no perspective) and then rotated the torus in the horizontal plane to appear as if it was an ellipse.
In Photoshop I can find no way to change or remove the perspective of a 3d object. When I rotate it in the horizontal plane the further portion becomes smaller and the closer portion becomes larger. Which of course is what perspective does in the real world. But not what I want here. If I use rotation in the horizontal plane I need either a zero perspective angle. Or the object as very far away and viewed through an extreme telephoto camera would also compress the perspective.
Or just being able to distort the mesh into an ellipse would work too. But I can not figure out how to do that. As far as I can figure, repoussé Constrains only allow me to work internal to the shape, not pull a section of the mesh as a whole.
I am sure I will get several answers along the lines of “I need to use a better 3d program”. If possible I need to use tools I already have. I do not have the money to buy an expensive 3d tool right now. I tried Blender but I think I need at least a week of going through tutorials just to get the hang of Blender's capabilities.

There is none. PS auto-calculates the center based on the bounding box. It doesn't even retain pivot points from imported meshes...

No. You wouldn't stretch, you would have to use an alliptical sweep path and that's only something real 3D programs have...

And you would have the same excperience with commercial programs as well. You're looking for an easy solution where none exists. 3D is complex on many levels and PS pretending for it to be easy by only providing a very,very limited set of tools doesn't change that. That being said, Blender is of course quirky in its own right, but feel free to download trials of otehr tools.... Some of them work for 30days as full versions just like Adobe tools.

Has anyone seen this error before, any advice on how to get round it.
RPE-02175: Internal Error: Uniqeness constraint failure. The key P35_V_EMAIL_RCNCLE_SUBJECT_WEB is not unique. Please contact Oracle Support with the stack trace and details on how to reproduce it.
It occurs when I try to deploy a process flow. I've tried dropping the process flow through the Control Centre but get an API error. If I try to CREATE the process flow I get the above error.

Im Using jdeveloper .... I have 2 Entity Bean called Jiverating and Jiveuser, I creadte them using "Create Entity Bean from Table".... also a Session Bean called ForumFacadeBean I created using a EJB diagram as EJB Sesion Bean ....
I can execute query without any problem but when I want to sotre a new Jiverating the aplication thows an exception... I just call the following metold of ForumFacadeBean

I dont underestand this error beacuse when I execute INSERT INTO JIVERATING (SCORE, OBJECTTYPE, USERID, OBJECTID) VALUES (2, 0, 2, 11) directly on the database I got no error !And did you actually attempt to -commit- the transaction? If you did then I can only conclude one thing: you are using two different databases. One has a constraint, the other does not. Constraints do not magically appear out of thin air, especially ones that generate an ORA error. -

I get the following errormessage if I try to apply a more recent build of the JPA Toplink Essentials.
If I use the glassfish-persistence-installer-v2-b45.jar all things work fine, but if a try to upgrade my program will fail. I tried the glassfish-persistence-installer-v2-b54.jar, all also tried all builds between?!
I have no idea how I may resolve the problem?!
Any ideas?

As a way to start the debug, you will have to monitor
1. All DML's against the Table on which you have constraint. More specifically, the DML's that act on the column you have constraint on.
2. Use Exception Handling, to log the Error and the data that causes the constraint to fail.
3. Do not forget to monitor the Triggers, if they are used, that would write some data into the column you have constraint on.

Hi,
we are upgrading our CUCM 8.6.1 to 10.5.1 on VMWare Enviroment (vSphere 5.5 running on UCS).
We are running this upgrade in a sandbox, in order to avoid any problem in the production cluster.
We followed the refresh upgrade guide ( http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/10_0_1/CUCM_BK_U4214F9D_00_upgrade-guide-cucm-100.pdf)
Pre-configuration steps
Take a clone of the running publisher and put it in the sandbox
Remove DNS servers (they are not available in the sandbox)
Change the NTP Server with a ntp that is recheable from the sandbox
Check that Gateway and NTP connectivity are OK for the CUCM
Pre-upgrade:
Run the cop files to update keys and increase disk space (log partition is 80% full)
Shutdown the CUCM VM and
Increase disk space on the VM configuration
change VM OS from RedHat5 (32bit) to RedHat 6 (64bits)
change VM nic from flexible to VMNIX3
Restart the VM
Upgrade
1. mount the iso
2. connect to OS Administration web interface and perform the Software installation from CD/DVD
3. upgrade process works fine up to the post-installation task
During post-installation tasks (after completing the DB Load and Transforming Copy) the Upgrade process always fails fails with an internal error

I have a unique constraint on my Items table that a certain value cannot be duplicated.
My problem appears when I remove a previously saved item from the collection and add a new item containing the same data, at the same time.
After I save the parent and do a flush, I receive SQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException because TopLink performs first an insert query instead of deleting the existing item.
I tested the application and everything went fine with: remove item / save parent / insert item / save parent
I checked on the Internet and the documentation but didn't find anything similar to my problem. I tried debugging TopLink's internal calls but I'm missing some general ideas about all the inner workings and don't know what to look for. I use TopLink version: Oracle TopLink Essentials - 2.1 (Build b60e-fcs (12/23/2008))
Does anyone have a hint of what to look for?

As I mentioned briefly I have done some debugging but couldn't understand how collections are updated. What I did find out is that setShouldPerformDeletesFirst() doesn't come into play in this case because this is not a consecutive change on entities.
What I have in my case is a collection inside an entity that the user has tampered with and now TopLink has to do a merge. I cannot call flush() in the middle since the user has not approved that the changes made to the entity should be saved.
I see that for TopLink it's not easy to figure out the order in which changes were made to a collection. Here is pseudo-code of when the constraint is touched:
entity.items.remove(a)
entity.items.add(b)
merge(entity)
And here is code that executes without a problem:
entity.items.remove(a)
merge(entity)
entity.items.add(b)
merge(entity)
So once again, I think that collection changes are managed differently but I don't find a way to tell TopLink how to handle them. Any ideas? -
Post Process Event Handler ----Unique Constraint Violation--Create User
Hi Evryone..
I am creating the user using the create user request template and there is one level of approval for this.
I have one pre process event handler which populates one field A and one post process event handler which updates some 3 fields in the user form .
In request template itself we had placed value as "ABC" for field B and this field B will be overridden in the post process event handler with Value as "XYZ" .
Now when i raise the request the user is getting created in OIM but the value XYZ is not getting replaced in the field B.

I checked reservations table and there are no records in that table.
Has any one faced this issue..if so how it can be resolved..Are you trying to update the User ID? As far as I know during create user requests, OIM reserves the user login as it goes through approval and you cannot update that directly I think. I haven't tried it but can you tell me which fields you are prepopulating and which are you updating? Are there any OOTB fields in this or UDF?
