Internal CS Midi Routing

Okay, the way I setup my concerts is that I have 5 MIDI Activity Monitors each set to receive on a different midi channel (1-5). Then I route different CSs to different Activity Monitor objects within a patch. The only nausance is that I'd like for all midi messages to revert back to being on channel 1 after it get's received by the Activity Monitor object. So that even if I have a CS routed to "Activity Monitor 2", the midi signal it gets will be Channel 1, not channel 2.
I only ask because there *IS* a way of doing this manually for each channel strip: by setting the input to "Multitimbral", selecting the correct activity monitor, and changing the channel routing to "1". So it is possible, but only at the CS level. What I'm hoping is that there's a way to more universally do this, so all activity monitors re-route their received messages to channel 1. There is no settings on either Activity Monitor or Keyboard Input objects to reroute midi, so I'm guessing not... but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Oh my Geil-ness you really solved that quickly. I had almost given up hope.
Funny sometimes one misses what should be not too "un"-obvious.
Works like a charm already.
Seemless song & sound switching between Mainstage, OnStage and Logic, just the way i want it.
I had to turn the IAC on though, so I guess it's off by default.
You just saved me and my friends a lot of cable hassle.
Thanks a million!

  • Internal MIDI-routing?

Hey there... *is it possible to route the MIDI-output of Logic internally to another program*, or do i have to use the cord (midi out->in) i'm using now?
Environment? Or is there some other software out there? Something like Soundflower for MIDI?
I wanna do this so i can improve my live-setup.
Basically Logic controls OnStage for session change (songs) and also controls Mainstage x2 on 2 other macbooks.
    Is it possible?

  • Can't get internal vSwitch to route through external vSwitch to connect to Internet using one NIC on 2012 R2 Datacenter with Hyper-V

I'm running into a bit of a problem here.
I have the following two virtual switches setup on one 2012 R2 Datacenter Physical Host w/ one (1) physical NIC:
Physical Host is running 192.168.50.120, GW: 192.168.50.1, SM: 255.255.255.0 (Cisco Router has the IP of 192.168.50.1). The Internal vSwitch Network (will contain 8 VM Servers) is 192.168.1.1. I want the VM Servers on 192.168.1.1 to be able to get Windows
Updates by being able to route through the 192.168.50.1 vSwitch but yet, still want the Networks segregated.
Both of these virtual switches/networks will be running through one NIC.
I initially setup RRAS to use NAT but I'm not sure if this is the correct configuration. It seemed to work but when I went to Activate my Product Key (via MSDN Subscription) it wouldn't recognize the key and therefore I couldn't run windows updates.
However, when I set up two of the VMs on 192.168.1.1 to use DHCP through the 192.168.50.1 Network it would work fine (i.e. DHCP, DNS and GW were all set to 192.168.50.1).
Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong or how I could setup an effective route between the two networks?
Any and all ideas are most welcome and appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Wallace

    Hi nbk5533,
The external virtual switch and internal virtual are isolated, you must set RRAS to connect both network zone, you can refer the following article to connect the internal
    switch and external virtual switch.

  • Internal Order: Approval Routes

    Good morning,
We use internal orders in our company, on purchase orders and for goods issue.
However, we are looking for more control on the usage of these internal order numbers as users have been coding things incorrectly and we have to make manual corrections after the fact.
Is there a way in SAP to implement an approval route for purchase orders/goods issue situations where an internal order number is assigned?  That way, the appropriate manager can approve/reject them before they are posted and have to be corrected.
If not, does anyone have any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Midi Routing

I have two keyboards, one wired to Logic via midi cables (Port 1, Channel 1) the second board is a Virus Ti. I am not using Virus Control. I'm using the Virus Ti Synth driver and channel 2.
My question is, if I make a new Instrument track and apply a Soft Synth to it, is there a way to play it layered with either board and still have the remaining board sound on it's own channel. In other words, "Multi Recording with one of the boards layered to the SS?"
Demix is selected. I thought by selecting the same midi channel for the SS as one of the keyboards would work.. Nope! Is there a way to route this in the Environment? I'm a newbie to Logic and it's routing. Thanks.

Remember the MIDI channels of the instrument object determine how the events are distributed. I can't say for sure (because I'm not in front of Logic right now) whether in multiplayer record mode, if you have more than one object set to a particular MIDI channel whether the events get correctly sent to both, But I would have though they were.
So if your keyboard 1 is in channel 1, and your second keyboard is channel 2, in multiplayer mode (demix on), both you instrument and soft synth object channels should be 1 (so they are both played from keyboard one) with the third part on channel 2.
Is this what you are doing but it's not working?

  • Axiom 25 percussion pads -- MIDI routing to different channel strips?

Hi all, and sorry for the noobie question! This is a very helpful forum.
I found a thread back in November that asked a similar question, but the thread is archived and I couldn't reply.
I've got an Axiom 25 MIDI controller going into Mainstage 2 via USB. This keyboard has eight percussion pads. I've got those pads transmitting on MIDI channel 10, and the keyboard transmitting on channel 1 (verified by the midi monitor at the top of the Mainstage edit screen).
I would like to get percussion sounds from the pads and keyboard sounds from the keys. I've set things up in Layout so that there are separate keyboard and percussion pads, and I've gone through the "learn" process and specified channel 10 for the percussion pads, etc. None of this seems to matter as far as what sound is produced, at least not yet.
The question I have is whether using my single MIDI controller, I am limited to using one playback instrument at a time and using multitimbral input to it, or if there is an easy way to "route" to multiple channel strips containing distinct instruments based on the midi transmission channel from the Axiom (i.e. channel 10 for the percussion pads, 1 for the keys).
I did RTFM without luck. I hope I've expressed the question using clear & proper terms -- I'm new to this so please be patient with me, and thanks in advance for your reply.
    -Rob

It seems to me like this should be easily accomplished. My suggestion is to use the MIDI Activity Indicator (looks like a little round light), since you're on MS2. Here are the steps that I'd follow, although I don't have my rig in front of me so it's all by memory:
    - In Layout mode, create two MIDI Activity Indicators: one that is assigned to Channel 1, and one that is assigned to Channel 10. I would name them "Channel 1" and "Channel 10" so that they're easily identifiable in Edit mode.
    - In Edit mode, create a patch with two channel strips: one for your drum sounds and one for your keyboard sound.
    - Assign the Channel 1 indicator to your keyboard sound channel strip, and assign the Channel 10 indicator to your drum sound channel strip.
    Give that a try!

  • Creative midi routing

I'm trying to run logic express and some NI instruments (kontakt2) outside of logic (since they're not universal yet). Any ideas on how I could route the midi? Basically I want to use logic as my sequencer and route the midi from my keyboard via midisport 2x2 into logic and then from logic into Kontakt2 (running outside of logic). I've gotten the midi to go to logic and kontakt but I can't get the playback to work. Thanks.

Justin thanks for the reply! I have actually tried the IAC bus and I can't get it to work for some reason. Do I need to set anything up in logics enviornment? What I've done so far is just enable it in "audio/midi" setup and then select it as the port for instrument in logic and then set the input in kontakt as the IAC bus and the same channel. I don't get anything. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Problem with external MIDI routing has to be MainStage 2 bug

I posted a bug the other day where I was getting occasional bogus MIDI note events in one external synth while playing a keyboard that was (supposed to be only) sending MIDI data to a different external synth.
I have now performed two experiments that would seem to indicate that the problem must be caused by MainStage 2 and not by CoreMIDI or by MOTU drivers/external MIDI interfaces.
    Experiment 1:
I created a new Digital Performer sequence, enabled multi-input mode and routed one keyboard controller to one external synth and another keyboard controller to another external synth, essentially reproducing the MainStage 2 patch. Played both keyboards together for some time with no problems whatsoever. (In MainStage 2, I'd get a glitch pretty quickly)
Experiment 2: (to eliminate the possibility that Digital Performer (a MOTU product itself) wasn't doing something special)
I used Max/MSP and created two midiin/midiout connections, one representing the first keyboard controller and external synth, the second representing the second keyboard controller and external synth respectively (duh). Again, I played both keyboards for a while and everything worked perfectly, no glitches.
I have reported this to Apple several times via their feedback but have heard NOTHING back from them.
    Original bug posting
    (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2137282&tstart=0)

If I understand you correctly, I think I experienced a similar problem. However, in my case, I don't have two separate midi input devices, but rather one; and two separate external devices I am wanting to control with midi.
Brief background: I use an EWI to play various softsynths & now external synths via MS2. I also route the audio from my EWI into MS2 for additional processing and I use an external effects processor (Eventide Eclipse) for additional processing and sound manipulation. I send program changes with my EWI to change patches using MS2. My EWI transmits only on midi channel 1, which MS2 is set to receive on. Also, my Eclipse is set to receive midi data on channel 5 (a method I used to keep things separate in my all hardware rig when MOTU MTP AV was my switching device).
Initially, I thought I could just have my EWI send a program change message on channel 1, and then MS2 would send a program change message to the Eclipse on channel 5, all from the same MS2 keyboard object. It worked, but with one small glitch ... after the program change happened, and I started playing my EWI, the Eclipse began receiving my midi note information which in turn caused the Eclipse to be confused and start trying to change patches, etc. I checked the keyboard object which was not supposed to transmit on channel 1 to anything external, but I could not figure out how to set it up. Note: none of my devices are set to OMNI because I learned a long time ago, that I want to control routing and specific channels ensure their separation ... or supposed to anyway.
What I ended up doing was to create another midi object (this time the little spherical thing, not the keyboard), and assigned it to transmit on midi channel 5 and not receive on any channel. This turned out to be the solution / work around for this situation.
Another problem I am having with midi control when using MS2 as a go-between, is an issue with pitch bend information getting messed up as its sent to my external synth (Yamaha VL70m). For some reason, playing the VL70m by way of MS2, causes my EWI pitch-bend data to force the VL70m pitch-bend in the permanent down position making all notes flat. My solution in this case was to set up a direct link with MidiPipe, from my EWI to my VL70m and filter out any program changes so that I can use the MS2 to send a patch change to it, but use my EWI to play it directly. It seems to work well, and my pitch-bend is back to normal, but I am not certain (and don't know how to test) if the VL70m is now getting duplicate note on/off information with the potential of a minuscule delay from MS2 being in the path as opposed to playing direct from my EWI. It seems unnoticeable to my ears, but it's in the back of my mind.
Anyway, these are some of my midi episodes and I think it's pretty clear that Apple needs to quickly address some issues about midi handling and MS2.
Hope this helps ... and maybe we can come up with some more creative ways to deal with these "undocumented features" (to borrow a saying from the Windows world).

  • Internal Tranformation and Routing capabilities in B2B

    hi,
Can B2B have transformation capabilities internally, such a way that
I have Remote TP1 sends ---> EDI docs-----> Host TP,
Now I need translate EDI docs to Defined XML format and pass on to another Remote TP2.
This is nothing but having recieving one doc format ---> transform to another DOC format and route to the destination.
Is this capability available in B2B with out the use of SOA/ESB components?
    Please do help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ramakrishna

    Hi Ramakrishna,
Although I am not sure incase this is a recommended approach, however this can be done using Java Callouts, which internally should invoke the XSLT.
    Refer: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10229/callouts.htm#CHDEFBDG
Example 13-2 is probably very close to your requirement.

  • Boot Camp on 2nd Internal SSD, Mid 2009 3.06Ghz MBP, Won't Boot

    Hi everyone!
I have a mid 2009 3.06 Ghz MacBook Pro that had a finicky SuperDrive and bad hard drive. I replaced the SuperDrive with an optical drive -> SATA drive bay and the original hard drive and now have 2 SSD's (Crucial M4s) inside my comptuer. I wanted to use Boot Camp to install Windows 7 64bit Professional on the SSD in the "optical drive" and got it to succesfully install. However, the computer refuses to boot to that drive after installing updates; every time I say "boot to Windows," a black screen with a blinking cursor shows up and never disappears. I can boot to it if I attach my Windows 7 installation DVD via an external DVD USB drive, but that is obviously not a true solution.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Aaron

Still having issues, any suggestions would probably be helpful.

  • DNS : simple internal network, no router. Doesn't work

Ok. Here is the deal. I've read many articles (including the excellent one from the famous MrHoffman) but I'm stuck. No documentation really deals with my situation.
I have a MacMini with 10.6 Server for a local network. I don't want an internet connection on it. I have a network switch and that's it. I just need a few machines to connect to this super local network (with DNS).
    Server IP settings (manual)
    IP : 10.0.0.11
    Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Router : void
    DNS : 10.0.0.11 (i've tried with 127.0.0.1... same)
    Domains : training
I have a primary DNS zone "training" with this server in it (and I remove the server original one after the installation). The nameserver is also set with the IP address (like recommended wisely by MrHoffman). The changeip command is a success. Network Utility lookups (direct and reverse) are fine.
But... when I plug another machine in the switch with a manual IP (let's say 10.0.0.200), 255.255.255.0, no router, dns=10.0.0.11, domain = training : I can ping the server (obviously) but lookups DON'T work.
I really don't understand. That's the simplest setup ever (2 machines and 1 switch) and DNS is not active...
So... any idea about what I forgot ?
    Thanks in advance.

So that I may update the web site article, why do you think what I've posted isn't this case and this configuration?
I'd expect hostname.training. as an FQDN here, if you're inventing your own domain, and thus your zone would be training (training.) for that.
The usual trigger for the failure you're describing here is that your client isn't using your DNS server for its DNS resolution; that your client is getting its DNS server address from your DHCP server (often embedded within a firewall) and your firewall (or whatever is providing DHCP server) isn't configured to pass out your new DNS server address. Or it is, and your client hasn't picked up the change yet.
To test this guess, check the controller settings for the DNS server setting, and try a command-level dig command:
    dig @10.0.0.11 hostname.training

  • Does Audition 3 do MIDI routing, merging, etc.?

I have one MIDI in and one MIDI out on my audio card and four MIDI ins and four MIDI outs on a USB interface. I would like to be able to use some of these ports to connect synths and controllers together in various ways, rather than having them all go to the DAW software. What I'm looking for is something like Bome's MIDI Translator Pro. Can Audition do all that? Thanks in advance!
By the way, this forum has possibly the worst forum navigation I've ever used. Just sayin'.

Having looked at the web page for MIDI Translator Pro, the answer is No.  The MIDI implementation within AA3 is pretty basic, to say the least.  I'm not sure whether ANY fully-specced MIDI sequencer could actually do all that the Bome software can do, though I do stand to be corrected by those who have more detailed knowledge of those sequencers.
I think many would agree with you about the forum navigation!

  • Internal Web Development Routing

I am setting up a internal web development box for my company. Its nothing special, just an arch box with SSH, apache and virtual hosts. I have set all this up before however i need other computers to be able to view these virtual hosts within the LAN. For example:
a websites internal url would be: http://websitename.servername
    a development tool: http://servername/phpMyAdmin
Now id rather not go around to every computer in the lan (about 10) and insert the following into their hosts file:
    10.0.0.100 servername
do i have other options, DNS server maybe ?

DNS for internal use isn't hard. Just setup a basic caching DNS server, then add a 'master' zone for something like "companyname.local" so your servers could be referenced as:
    http://development.companyname.local
    http://devel-2.companyname.local
    etc
You'll still have to update the DNS servers that the desktop PC's are using (easy with DHCP) but future maintenance is easy.

  • Cisco ASA 5505 Routing between internal networks

    Hi,
I am new to Cisco ASA and have been configuring my new firewall but one thing have been bothering. I cannot get internal networks and routing between them to work as I would like to. Goal is to set four networks and control access with ACL:s between those.
    1. Outside
    2. DMZ
    3. ServerNet1
    4. Inside
ASA version is 9.1 and i have been reading on two different ways on handling IP routing with this. NAT Exempt and not configuring NAT at all and letting normal IP routing to handle internal networks. No matter how I configure, with or without NAT I cannot get access from inside network to DMZ or from ServerNet1 to DMZ. Strange thing is that I can access services from DMZ to Inside and ServerNet1 if access list allows it. For instance DNS server is on Inside network and DMZ works great using it.

    Hi Jouni,
Yep, Finnish would be good also =)
In front of ASA is DSL modem, on the trunk ports is Hyper-V host that uses the trunk ports so that every VM has their VLAN ID defined in the VM level. Everything is working good on that end. Also there is WLAN Access Pois on one of the ASA ports, on the WLAN AP there is the management portal address on DMZ that i have been testing agains (192.168.3.4)
If i configure Dynamic PAT from inside to the DMZ then the traffic starts to work from inside to all hosts on DMZ but thats not the right way to do it so no shortcuts =)
Here is the conf now, still doesnt work:

  • Harmonize lead vocal Routing Midi with Antares Harmony Engine Evo

After a long day researching and NOT getting the job done... I need correct midi routing instructions to get Antares Harmony Engine Evo to play 2 different midi harmony tracks: i.e., one on track 7 and one on track 8 wince I couldn't get any of the 'great' harmony presets to work at all. I need explicit instructions on what to click on and where it is without leaving out assumed steps. Thanks!

Adding this: PLEASE and THANK YOU... anybody who knows anything. I've read manuals, searched the net, etc., instructions are not clear or non-existent with many posts saying 'I can't get this function to work!' to no avail so far. I've round no video tutorials. One post suggested 'side chain' as in the Antares Pitch Correct but there is NO side chain menu on my Harmony Engine, and FYI, it disappeared on my APC, from time to time. What's going on here? I'd like to have these harmonies on for Christmas gift. I tried transposing the lead vocal track and ! 'no transpose function' would show up in the usual place. Now I'm trying the midi routing since the harmony engine's default patches didn't work. I've set every knob and button including voice register, i.e. 'soprano' in this case, etc. following the small manual. There's got to be a way as this program has won many awards, so someone is getting it to work. Please RSVP... Thank you and happy holidays!
