I have search the net and not found an answer to this I have done everything I have found and still I can not install itunes on my window xp I am getting ready to return the ipod and get something else already

Try logging in as the user titled "Administrator", not just a user with administrator privileges. Sometimes Windows errors when a user just has admin privileges, but will work with the actual Administrator user.

let's try getting an itunes 7 installer log to the Apple Engineers for that one.
1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
3. Type in a space, then the following line:
/l*v C:\log.txt
4. Hit return.
5. The installer will create a log file:
C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.

- The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
- the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)

Internal error 2356. Has anyone seen this

I have done everything to reinstall itunes. When it is just about finished installing a message reading: Internal Error 2356.Data1.cab and Installation of Quicktime did not complete succesfully. I tried installing quicktime alone and with itunes, neither has worked. I have not been able to get into itunes for about 4 months. Please help.

It keep said Internal Error 2356: Data1.cab while download and installed the Adobe Reader 9, then failed installed.

You might be able to find it if you search Goggle. The error codes are not in a list that is generally available to users and thus trying to find someone who has run up on it is probably your best idea, other than calling Adobe and paying their fees. The typical message is "Information on msi error 2356: Couldn't locate cabinet in stream." and is reported as a MS installer error. It may be that your download is corrupt.
However, the proper place to ask the question is the Reader forum as John said since those are the folks that have done the same download. The folks here use Acrobat, though a few may have also done the download that you mention.

if you have a download problem (eg, you see an error page or you are offered an incorrect version), you probably didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that (a restrictive browser setting) is another potential source of problems.

It looks like the CD is damaged. You could try copying the entire CD on to your hard disk in a temporary folder and then launch the setup.exe file by double clicking on it.
Can you do this? Please post back.
Whether 5 can run in Windows 7 is something I don't know. You just have to try it.

Did you save iTunesSetup.exe to your hard drive and run it?
Or are you trying to run the install over the internet?

Error 1305: Data1.cab

When I was updating my Adobe Reader to 9.3, it got to 99.9 then I got a message saying that I had to "Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."
Well, it was in a folder on my desktop where it was supposed to be, I opened the cabinet file and everything looked fine.
So after clicking retry about 10 times, I finally clicked cancel. It looked like it worked, everything continued fine my IE (Eww...Fire Fox ftw!) opened showing the thank you page. So then it started doing other things and I waited and now I have the error again and I'm curious as to whether I should hit retry another 20 times, or hit cancel and hope for the best.
Any help with my prediciment would be greatly appreciated.

How do I address error 1335, Data1.cab is corrupt, to install?

I have Photoshop Premiere 8 and would like to install it on my new computer Windows 8. I receive error message 1335 during installation. I have downloaded Photoshop files 3 times, followed web instructions to try again and again (e.g. disabled start up files and services files, deleted old copies, re-started, etc.). Actually I have had this problem ever since I bought Version 8 but did not use it as I did not need it (managed with easier programs). Now I need it and still cannot install it. Program was bought online from Adobe.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 fails to install. Premiere Elements 8 loaded as expected.

I have had this error on a hand full of WXP SP3 workstations running 1.6 update 16. I am not a smart person, but I do know how to search. I found a fix a tried on a similiar error.
On one of my problem children I did the following.
As Admin verify rpc service is started.
from a CMD prompt
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
I believe the initpki.dll took a few to respond. After that I restarted and tried the install on the problem child again. Success. Since then I have been going back to my other problem children. I try the install without the fix and have not had a issue, YET, installing update 16. It's PFM.

Error 2356

I have a PC running XP Pro and when I try to install Quicktime 7.1.6.2 - I get the following error message:
Internal Error 2356. Data.cab
The installation then aborts.
What does this cryptic error mean and how can it be avoided?

CS2-installing error "data1.cab" file corrupt

I have recently reformatted my C drive and reinstalling programs.
I tried to reinstall my CS2 Photoshop, but received error message that the "data1.cab" file was corrupt or missing. Could not install program.
I don't know how to fix. Could someone please help?

from a disc? try to copy the photoshop folder from the disc to the desktop, then run setup from there. however, you might have a bad drive or a bad disc. if the setup from the desktop fails, try installing on another machine. if it still fails, the disc probably has a problem. if that works, maybe your drive needs replacing.

Trying to install upgrade Acrobat Pro XI on Server 2003. We already have Acrobat Pro 9 installed.
Install starts and is halted midway by message "Error 1311: Source File not found. Data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."
