I keep getting an Internal error "Framemaker has dectected a serious problem and must quit." Can someone tell me what I need to do to correct this?

I get error messages about font not being available and about links failing to update but I don't think either of these should cause the "serious problem" Framemaker is detecting. We just subscribed to Framemaker less than one month ago. I wouldn't think I'd be behind on updates but when I tried to update I encountered another problem with Adobe Application Manager. I'm going to have an IT person at our company look into this. Hopefully, he'll have better luck than I'm having. If you have any helpful information to pass along, I'd still like to hear it. I will pass it along to our IT person. If not, thank you for your help. I appreciate it!

At what point in the start-up screen (the module names flash below the "Adobe FrameMaker 10" as shown below) does the crash happen?
If this happens during "Localization", it usually means that one of your dictionary libraries (Linguistics) is hosed. If you rename the "Linguistics" folder at c:\users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe for Win7 or c:\Document Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe for XP to something else (e.g. Linguistics_bad), then FM will re-create a new one when it starts up next time. You can then delete the bad folder after FM has succesfully started.
If the problem is in another module, then please specify which module, which FM point release, what operating system your running, etc. so guesses about your environment are minimal.

Has anyone experienced the above error message? I always receive this message when I start scrolling through a FrameMaker file. It does not matter if I scroll with the mouse or using the keyboard. When I click OK to this message, FrameMaker immediately shuts down. At times, it corrupts the file on a particular page(s) and continually gives me this message. Most often, I need to recreate these lost pages. Very frustrating and I do not know if it is FrameMaker or a problem with refresh and the graphics card. Help!

I wanted to post this as another thread but at the same time I believe it's related to what's been discussed in this one.
These are my error codes when FM has crashed in my system:
Internal Error: 8004, 8443342, 4459945, 4414681
Internal Error: 8004, 6343116, 8483344, 0
Internal Error: 8004, 6961695, 4843246, 4842974
and others that I thought related to the scrolling thing... however, I installed FreeWheel and the crash happened again as soon as I updated my book to generate my lists. I've had the scrolling issue in past and it's true that at the time the FreeWheel solution was pretty effective. However, this time I really am sort of not knowing what to do about it.
I have FM 8 with the latest patches running on Vista.
I would really appreciate any input that could help me work this out.

I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion m6 Notebook and issues with the HP Support Assistant not working correctly. Here is a link to help resolve with errors or concerns with the HP Support Assistant. Make sure when you uninstall the HP Support Assistant that nothing about it remains in the Control panel. After you uninstall please restart the Notebook. If that does not help you might want to try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing again. I hope this fixes this issue. Thanks.

FDK and FM 8: Internal Error: 8004, 6343724, 8484240, 0. FrameMaker has detected a serious problem a

I use FDK9 and FrameMaker 8. I used Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition and Microsoft SDKs to compiled sample FDK hello.c program, C:\Program Files\Adobe\FDK9\samples\hello. It compliled just fine without error or warning message. I registered the hello.dll to fminit directory and added the line: "hello=Standard, Greets user at startup,fminit\hello.dll, all" to maker.ini. When I brought up FrameMaker I got error message:

A file named fminit\hello.dll has been generated which contains

Here is what Wikipedia says:
"In April 2003, Microsoft introduced a minor upgrade to Visual Studio .NET called Visual Studio .NET 2003, codenamed Everett (for the city of the same name). I think you should be OK with the later compiler. I don't know what is causing the crash, though. Perhaps you might consider setting up a new workspace according to the instructions in the Windows guide, then add hello.c to it, and see what happens. That would at least let you know if there is a compatibility problem with the sample, or if your current setup will simply not allow FDK9 development for FM8.
By the way, there is a Yahoo group dedicated to FDK development. If you don't get an answer here, consider posting there. Some of the users on that list are considerably smarter than me about these types of issues.

i'm packing for a three day drive to chicago, il and would really like to have my ipod updated by morning. for a while, i was unable to open itunes or reinstall it. now that i have, it won't open, giving me that "itunes has encountered a problem and must close" window. anyone know how to help me out?

Did it work OK before and suddenly quit?
If so, that sounds like malware. Try scanning for malware with ewido (Free at www.ewido.net/en/)
If you just recently installed any other software, security update, windows update, IM update, yadda yadda, now would be a good time to mention it.

Have been receiving this message since my computer crashed and was brought back up in "Safe Mode". Uninstalled program and tried to reinstall updated version but got a error message. Is this sometthing I can fix or is it a trip to Best Buy for the fix.

When I conect any ipod ,the itunes show an error msg-The syncServer found a problem and must be closed.After that another-Mobile device helper find a problem and must be closed -and this repeat more 2 times each are related with corefoundation.dll.

Detail:copy photo files from ipod to computer works normal.I use panda antivirus but without it in the computer,the problem persists.Yesterday I get the last ITunes,but the problem persists.I unistall anything about apple ,install the new Itunes and the problem remains.

I have been battling against the same issue for over 2 weeks now. After tracing what was happening on the machine to find that the crashes we're happening slightly after Apple's program we're identifying the Time Zone of the computer, I had the idea of checking the date/time properties of my Windows XP machine.
I unchecked the box to update the time from a time server (Internet time) and it's seem that this was what was causing itunes and its descendant to crash.
Now it seems it turned back to normal operation.
Please let me know if this fixes it for you as well.

oh yeah and when i go to uninstall it from add\remove programs when the wizard comes up and is running i get that same error and needs to close message, but i doenst effect the uninstall wizard(i dont think)........PLEASE HELP

Adobe premiere has encountered a serious problem

Hi, i have a new macbook 15" pro with retina and whenever i am working in premiere pro it crashes and comes up with a message that says "adobe premiere has encountered a serious problem"
please help, it's killing me!

What version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Pro CS5.5 with the 5.5.2 update).

Sometimes an error message doesn't even pop up anymore, it just shuts down. But it was saying "Adobe Premiere has encountered a serious problem and needs to shut down immediately."

I've had no problem with it up until this point.

I've shut everything else down when I'm working on this.

Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both?
It's just when I'm working on it. I haven't been able to finish the product because of how much it keeps shutting down.

Error: Couldn't unmount disk -- when trying to verify/repair external hard drives. Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

I have a number of hard drives that my Mac Book Pro no longer 'recognises' at least for very long. When I turn them on the deskstop icon shows up but then shortly afterwards I get a message saying that it has been unplugged incorrectly. I haven't unplugged it any of them. When I try to run very/repair disk before they disappear I get the error in the subject line above. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you rectify it?

If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) I have an imac running with 10.6.8 to be able to use facetime. I downloaded everything but when I click on the facetime icon i have the following message " An internal error facetime has occured. Any help to make facetime work? Thanks

Then I downloaded Facetime to make it work but when I click on the icon a message error pops up
"An internal error facetime has occured. There was a problem with Facetime - you need to quit Facetime and Open Facetime again"

Itunes has encountered a problem and must close..send error report etc.

I upgraded itunes (not even sure why since my old version was working fine) and now I keep getting the error that "itunes has encountered a problem and must close...". I did try the "msconfig" advice but that did not work. I even tried to use the CD that came with my ipod (March 2005) and the only option I get is to "uninstall" which I hesitate to do because I do not want to loose my itunes library. Does anybody have any other suggestions?? I greatly appreciate any help. I have read through some threads, but some of the "help" links that were inserted are no longer working.

I'm having the same problem.
I updated to 8.1 and it closes as soon as the shuffle is plugged in.
So I tried disabling auto-sync. No luck
So I tried loading an older version of iTunes - says I have to have 8.1
So I tried uninstalling and removing all itunes related files - and reinstalling. Still closing every time I plug in.

When I try download new os 5.1.0 on my iPhone 4 I get this error message "stopped (err = -3259)" after it has downloaded. Has anyone had this problem and if so what is the fix.

When I try to download iPhone OS 5.1.0 on my PC I get this message "stopped (err = -3259)"and says it timed out at the server after the entire download. I have tried 3 times, it takes about 8 min. to download the 790.7 MB file. Has anyone had this problem and what is the fix?
