Internal error - N8 - Ovi Suite 2.2.1.23 Maps v3.0...

Hi all,
have upgraded to beta of maps, but can not download the whole of Europe.
Always get:
Internal error
Maps encountered an unknown error.
Try again later.
Its driving me crazy, have spend now 4 evening trying to download the maps to the phone.

Hi cjlim, going to travel across Europe in few days that is why I got the N8 as well and all the maps
but would agree" with you that not all are needed if you not going to those countries
Anyway find a dead easy solution, NO NEED for verrrry slow Nokia Ovi Suite simply to download maps onto PC and transfer on memory card:

Installaton error on ovi suite-- please help

I got my nokia n8 yesterday and I got some problems while installing the ovi suite cd in my Windows7 64bit laptop.. so i download the latest version of ovi suite but i got the same problem as mentioned below...So provide some solution to install ovi suite completely in my laptop.
I got the error like
could not open key:
UNKNOWN\Components\DA42BC89BF25F5BDOAF18C3B9B1A1EE8\68AB67CA7DA7FFFFB7449A0100000010 Verify that you have sufficient access to the key,or contact your system personnel.

There doesn't seem to be any uninstaller for Ovi Suite either. I have looked for some sort of removal tool and thousands of other people are looking for the same, but that doesn't seem to exist either.
Every time I try to remove Ovi Suite from from Control Panel and also using third party software, It only seems to want to install the software and not remove it. Going through the motions of selecting to install the current software, the same error comes up about permissions.

Cud u pls chck if ur system has got microsoft visual c++ 2008 redistributable instlld on ur pc? If not, do googlin' b4 u instll this on ur pc, if u feel its safe 2 install, go ahead n chck.

Error after OVI suite update

Can u plz help me out. I hv a windows 7 n 5230 . Earlier i had a ovi suite 2.1 but i updated it to 3.0.0.80 n since then i cant connect my phone to pc.

Please uninstall the Nokia Ovi suite from the control panel including Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and PC Connectivity Solution.
Then restart the phone and download the latest available Nokia Ovi suite 3.1.1.80 from Nolkia.com/ovisuite.

Nokia Ovi suite 2.2.0.241 maps doesnt work

Need help with the ovi software,
I have a nokia S5800 Xpress music handy and i installed Ovi software to get some maps for my phone. but i didnt see any countries to choose. when i go to the maps into the program i only see the coninent on the left site There is nothing on the rigt sight to select.
I tried do deinstall the Ovi and to install it for another time, but it also doenst work .
What can i do ?

I am not sure whether this will solve your problem but you can try this
1. Connect device with NOS
2. Download and install Ovimaps in to device from here http://maps.nokia.com/services-and-apps/ovi-maps/free-downloads?intc=ncomexpserv-fw-ilc-bdy-con-na-n...
3. Switchoff/ on the device
4. Connect the device again with NOS and try to download maps

Ovi maps-ovi suite internal error e66

I have done a hard reset on a nokia e66 with firmware 410...
When I first connected to ovi suite the maps module showed me internal error. But it wasn't any server error or try again etc...
The steps are the following:
1) Format memory card
2) Download ovi maps from nokia website.
3) Open the maps in the phone and accept all the messages
4) Connect to the ovi suite and open maps.
5) And then magically it will tell you that you need an update on the maps.
6) Now I am in this step which updating but I think it has stuck.
Shame on you nokia for all these problems for a business telephone such as e66. That's why apple is always a level ahead in its interface and is winning just from that. Simplicity just simplicity.

As it was expected I did my job with nokia map loader...http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-map-loader/download
And after that ovi suite opened without questions the maps.
If it is integrated in ovi suite as I read here: /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Nokia-Map-Loader-support-dropped/td-p/700212
it doesn't work right. If it is a new map loader in ovi then nokia you have to go BACK.

Ovi Suite Network connection error

Hello everyone,
Since two weeks I just cannont acces the server from the update service on ovi suite. I've never had that problem before the error I get is this one:
network connection error
nokia ovi suite software update service is not responding make sure the internet connection is working o check your firewall settings and try again later

My connection works just fine and I disabled the firewall and antivirus, so I don't know what's happening.
I have a N86 8MP and even though I know I cannot get a nex firmware I just want to reinstall the firmware but it's impossible to do it.
One last question, is it posssible to make a downgrade of the phone's firmware?

It seems a server problem..keep trying..
Meanwhile you can uninstall and reinstall NOS again if there is some thing wrong with Ovisuite
1. Uninstall Ovi Suite, PC Connectivity solution and Nokia Connectivity cable drivers from Add/remove program if anything is there.
2. Delete the files from here If anything is there
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Nokia\Ovi Suite
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\OviInstallerCache
3. Please search and download MSI clean up utility from microsoft website
Once installed please select the programs related to Nokia and click remove.
Restart Computer.
Then download from microsoft website and install Windows Installer, so that the installer is upto date.
4. Restart the PC
5. Download and Install latest OviSuite http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite
6. Connect the device and try

Ovi Suite and Map Server connection error when beh...

Hi All,
from many recent versions up to the latest 3.1.1.80 I have problems to connect to the map server when behind a proxy. Ovi Suite correctly access to internet and log on (I've set-up proxy access data in the options menu) but when I access to the Maps tab I receive the massage "MAp Server not available".
Now I've understood the reason and for nokia guys it should be very easy to fix the problem:
if my proxy username is in the format "name surname" Ovi Suite access to internet but Maps DOES NOT.
if my proxy username is in the format "username" (without spaces) BOTH ovi suite and Maps WORKS correctly.
Please FIX it, it should be very easy.

Hello, 1. Were you able to use the usb connection if present? And also, make sure you have the correct drivers, if present, installed (use a device manager to check). 2. Most probably, your printer was not properly connected to the network. You need to check IP configuration. If a wireless router is used, make sure there is no MAC filtering enabled. If enabled, you need to reconfigure. 3. DHCP Service. 4. Check the network test page and make sure ssid is correctly identified. And the rest of the wireless parameters. 5. Make sure your firewall does not blobk printer connections. Make sure file and print sharing has been turned on for the appropriate network with network discovery turned on(Network and Sharing Center if Windows). Ovi Suite/PC Suite does not recognize the connecte...

Error message: "Ovi Suite/PC Suite does not recognize the connected phone.Ovi Suite/Pc Suite cannot read the required information from the phone.Check that the connected phone is supported by Ovi Suite/PC Suite".
You can try this which can solve your problem.
1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
6. Restart the computer if prompted.
7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and PC/Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.

Welcome to the forum! You should use Nokia Suite to update your device to Belle. If still the same, please go to control panel > printer and devices > right click the phone icon > remove the device. Then try to connet again. Also try all the steps provided by magovoru. Could you also report the issue here if connection still does not work.

Nokia ovi suite crashes when i try to open it

When i come to open nokia ovi suite v2.2.0.241 while it is opening it crashes and i get the error Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the problem still occurs.

SYSTEM INFORMATION: Help about Ovi Suite-System Information- Copy and paste.
CRASH LOG FILES
Windows XP
- On application crash, you'll see the dialog asking whether you want to Debug or Close. Don't do either. Closing the dialog destroys the dump file before you have a chance to copy it.
- Click the "For more information about this error, click here" link in the crash dialog, and copy the "Error signature" contents. The relevant content can be selected with mouse, and copied. Paste the text to the notepad.
- Find the minidump file (probably C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp\???.DMP) . If there are multiple .DMP files, check the modification time the find the one that was created at the same time the application crashed.
- Start Task Manager and kill process "dwwin.exe", the dump file is locked by this process.
-The dump file can now be copied.
Windows Vista and Windows 7
- On application crash, you'll see the dialog suggesting "Check online for a solution and close the program" AND "close the
program". Do not click either yet! Leave that pop up open.
- Open TaskManager (e.g. press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC simultaniously).
- Find NokiaOviSuite.exe from the processes list in TaskManager.
- Right click NokiaOviSuite.exe and select Create Dump File.
- When the dump is ready, a dialog opens and tells where the dump was stored.
- Also expand the crash popup dialog window's "View problem details" and copy the contents to this case.
- After you have got the needed data press "Check online for a solution and close the program" in the crash dialog.
NOTE: If the crash dump is huge in size then follow the steps provided here.
Here is the step by step instructions to send files on Ovi.
1. Log into Ovi.com
2. Click on files
3. Type in your username and password
For a user who has not set up files on ovi on his computer, it will give an option to download the file connector.
4. Click Download and install the file connector.
5. Then you will find the Sign in to Ovi Files icon in the desktop.
6. Close the browser and then click on Sign in to Ovi Files icon from desktop.
7. It will connect to ovi.com again. Login with username and password.
8. Left pane shows the directory like the windows explorer.
9. Anytime file status will show the respective file/folder
10. Select the file which you want to send and then right click the file and select the option send.
11. Type the email address [email protected]
12. Select the epiration date and then add comments if any.
13. Then select the option to store in anytime file.
The email receipient will receive an email with a link to download the file.

Nokia PC suite vs nokia ovi suite

hello,
i'm new to this discussion forum. not a technology expert as well. I have an X6 32G. just wanting to know what is the difference b/w PC suite & ovi suite. I am currently using ovi suite on my laptop (windows XP). keep seeing this PC suite thing on nokia website, but have no clue what it is. is it better than ovi suite?

Ovi Suite is a successor to PC Suite. I use both. PC Suite I use mainly for backups etc and use ovi suite for syncing contacts music maps etc. I suggest you go to the Nokia support pages for your region and download and install PC Suite. Once installed you can then read the help files for the program.

5230 ovi suite cannot find maps on device

new nokia 5230 and have been trying to upload maps to phone for hours, £30 credit wasted for internet connection and ovi suite keep saying cannot find maps or voice guidance files in your device. Did deleting cities folder and qf file still the same; tried to use pc suite as someone suggested but the link tells me to use ovi suite as well. No map at all in phone Please any suggestions???

To find the installed Maps and Navigation.
Connect your device to the Pc/Laptop
Open your OVi Suite, Goto --> View -> Go to -> Maps. On the left handside bottom you can find On your device, Below that select All. It will take a while to read your phone data. It will show you the Maps and the Voice Navigation installed in your device.
Please delete all your maps which ever already installed in your device by clicking on Delete All on your right hand side top.
Now you can download and install the maps and voice navigations once again one by one.
Before this if you find any update for your maps software please go ahead and do it, prior to downloading Maps.

Do you need OVi suite or can you use the PC update...

Sorry if this is a daft question but I am not 100% sure what these various bits of software do.
I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead.
Question is can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

At this point, we do not have any information for the release date of Ovi Suite 2.2 version. If you are having issues with Ovi Suite, you still have the option to use PC Suite application. You need to uninstall the Ovi Suite application and install PC Suite to your computer.

Ovi Suite Internal error

Did anyone have this error?

I am getting the same error constantly. In fact Ovi maps is not even working on my phone anymore. This all started with the new Ovi Suite version they released last week. All kinds of problems with syncing and I get this error now with maps. Using an E75 with most current firmware on Win7.
