Internal mic array issue

Hello,
I am using HP Envy dv6-7267cl, I have recently upgraded from windows 8 to windows 8.1, then the hell broke loose on me, Internal microphone does not work, Camera does not work.. Validity finger sensor stopped working
Some how I could get Finger sensor working back, However under device manager
Generic USB Hub (Validity Sensor (WBF) (PID=0018)), If I disable this only then Internal microphone responds.
Webcam has not responded, Youcam software gives a msg to   " No webcam detected. try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. if you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on."
What should I do with this disgusting laptop.. Please help..
Thanks,
Harish

Hi Mpeacemaker, welcome to the HP Forums. I will assume the model number was a typo and reference the "13-2311ee". If I am wrong please let me know. I also will assume this came with Windows 8, as that is the default troubleshooting available on your computers support page. Here is the general troubleshooting to resolve microphone issues: Resolving Microphone and Line-in Problems (Windows 8)
If this does not help, give me more details as to what you have tried.
I look forward to your response.

  • Imac 24" internal mic volume issues

    Hi,
Im having a problem with the volume of the internal microphone on my 24" imac (2.8 ghx, osx 10.6.4). When I am trying to use msn video chat (yeah i know i shouldn't use msn at all but my girlfriend insists on it) the volume keeps dropping while I am trying to use it, sometimes to the point where the other person cant hear me. I can watch this happening in the settings but all i can do is turn it back up. Ive checked on google and other people seem to ave had this problem but i couldnt find a solution.
Any help with this would be hugely appreciated,
    Thanks

some say a resetting of the PRAM at restart worked.
but it did not for me:
    Same problem here:
neither in Skype nor in Quicktime audio recording does the microphone pick up a reasonable level.
The mike does not seem broken though, as if I put the input level at maximum in the system preferences pane: sound (and check "use ambient noise reaction") there is some reaction if I tap on the frame of the iMac or literally yell into the iMac. (the Quicktime recording then registers the voice, but only faintly).
I have done a Pram reset/restart, to no avail so far and am hoping for some bright solution in this forum.
One reason for the error might be that when a local Apple store recently replaced the Airport antenna-module on my iMac (it had failed completely after around 3 years) they might have done something to the mike wiring...

    Hello schneids,
I see that you are having start up problems with your HP computer. I have a couple of suggestions that may help with your issues.
Here is a link to some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve your issues.
If you are still having trouble I would suggest testing the power adapter or trying a different power adapter. Most retailers will let you try a power adapter on the computer to see if it works.
    Let me know what happens.

The following steps were posted by @DavidPK. I am copying the steps I want you to try rather than just linking you the thread as it is quite long. I am also providing a link to the thread below.
“Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Click the Recording tab, right click the 'Integrated Microphone array' and select Properties. Click the Microphone Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Disable microphone enhancements'. Click Apply and Ok to save this change and the restart the notebook - has this made any difference?”

  • How to mute internal mic??

I just migrated to an Intel Mac Book Pro, I now see when I'm running my audio program that the internal mic input is always on ( I'm using the built in audio till my new sound card comes.) I have the internal mic shut off on the mac why is my audio program still picking up the open mic ?

    Hello thetoolwiz2,
I'd recommend resetting your computer's PRAM, as there may be an issue with its settings that is preventing you from being able to properly switch inputs.

  • Internal mic not working after updating to 10.10.1

After updating to 10.10.1 (from 10.10) on my MacBook pro 2010 (15” screen) the internal mic is not working when using FaceTime (or Skype) and so the person on the other end of the video/audio call is unable to hear me. On my end there is a static/crackly sound during FaceTime (or Skype) connecting  since the update which I believe is related to the mic problem (no sound input on Mac during FaceTime/Skype).

  • HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC - Can't get internal mic to shut off or sync with webcam

I'm not really sure what happened. I was trying out my headset with inline mic on my PC and it didn't work the only thing that worked was my internal mic. I did disable my internal mic at one point but turned it back on when I realized that didn't make it work either so I promptly turned my internal mic back on. However, now I am left with hearing myself type and the outside noises even hearing instantly the curses I use at my computer. I can turn the volume down and not hear anything, but when I try and record a video I can't hear myself at all; the mic isn't recordng me and the webcam video is laggy. (the listen back button is unchecked) but when I check the listen back button I can hear me type and I can hear myself on the recorded video.
Basically, I just want my computer to work how it did before I tried to get my headset mic to work.

    Hey,
Try installing this driver: IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver
If that fails, try using the HP Recovery Manager to roll back to the factory installed driver.
Test after both. Let me know if either option worked.

  • I have facetime 1.0 and I have  a constant mute mic icon.. set internal mic preference. Makes no difference, I have iMac21  --I can hear the contact and see her.. but I am mute

Can't unslash my microphone mute icon.. can hear and see the contact.. but she can't hear me, because I can't UNMUTE THE microphone.
I went to preferences and clicked internal mic.. made no difference.
Does this have something to do with her version of FACETIME vs. mine?

Well you need to understand the behavior of h-reap or what it's called now, FlexConnect. In this mode, the clients are still remembers on the WLC until the session timer/idle timer expires. So switching between SSID's in h-reap will not be the same when switching when the AP's are in local mode.
Take a look at the client when connected in FlexConnect in the WLC GUI monitor tab. Thus will show you what ssid and vlan the client is on. Now switch to a different ssid and compare this. It's probably the same because the client has not timed out. Now go back to the other ssid and look again. Now on the WLC, remove or delete the client and then switch to the other ssid at the same time. Or switch SSID's and then remove the client. The client will join the new ssid and in the monitor tab, you should see the info.
There is no need to have clients have multiple SSID's unless your testing. Devices should only have one ssid profile configured to eliminate any connectivity issues from the device wanting to switch SSID's.

  • High pitch noise when recording audio using internal mic

The issue I am having is with the internal mic. When recording audio using quicktime or garageband. It is a high pitch noise that stays whether i am speaking or not. The fix i found was to lower the input volume of the mic in system preferences. However, this causes my voice to be recorded so low that audio is barely usable unless volume is all the way up. Looking around the web I found this gem:
    http://www.usingmac.com/2009/6/18/recording-speech-with-garageband-2009
This help me get rid of the high pitch noise for Garageband. The noise still there for Quicktime. Any ideas on how I can keep the same mic input volume with out having to listen to the high pitch noise?
    Any help is appreciated.

Did you do the usual stuff, such as reset PRAM?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
There are some sound settings in PRAM, although I think it's only for sound output.
Also, as a test, I would create a new admin user account in System Preferences Accounts pane
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8235.html
Log out and log in to the new account (do not use Fast User Switching). In the new account, try recording something using QuickTime, and note if this problem recurs. If it does not, you have eliminated a few possible causes, such as a problem with the overall system installation or a hardware issue, and isolated the problem to something in your normal user account.

Try re-installing sound flower. I had an issue where it would keep crashing when I tried to change the output. It worked after I re-installed it again.
