Enter your device manager.
Can be found by pressing windowskey + x.
Press Sound, video and game controllers.
And right click and remove the one called Realtek high definition (should be something like that).
Reboot the computer, this should make it reinstalll the driver på itself.
If this doesn't work, search for the program called recovery manager. In here you pick the one furthest to the left, called something with reinstall driver. Here you find the one called IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver check it, and press install.
Since it used to work, and you dont have windows 8.1. If this still doesn't fix it, it must be some setting regarding your microphone. So try right clicking your speaker icon down in the right corner, when in desktop mode and pick recording units (translating directly from danish). Please let me know what you see in here.
Best regards

  • My internal microphone stopped working on my imac?

My internal microphone stopped working on my imac? I only noticed when I tried to use Skype. It was fine till a recent change to hard drive after a mechanical failure and a clean reinstall. I have USB headset and it works fine, in and out. Any answers/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Check your settings in System Preferences>Audio and make sure that internal microphone is selected on the input tab.

  • Internal mic stopped working today, please help! C660 1F1

    Hey guys,
My laptop is a Satellite C660 1F1, and it runs Windows 7, 64bit version.
This afternoon, my internal mic stopped working. It was just fine this morning. Yet I can still hear people on Skype perfectly.
I've checked all my settings, and according to them, everything is just fine. But it isn't. The little green bar that shows received sound doesn't move at all. It only moves a tiny bit when I tap the mic with my finger.
I've reinstalled drivers, I have my settings adjusted for maximum mic usage, but it's just not working.
I don't know what else to do, and this mic is the only way I can contact my family right now. Someone, please help me!

  • Internal Microphone not working on Pavilion dm4 Laptop

I have an IDT High Definition Audion CODEC internal microphone on a Pavilion dm4 laptop.
I was advised by an helpful HP support person to uninstall and re-install drivers and this I have done a couple of times.
Occasionally the microphone works but more often it is still not working from Start up. It is not working today!
I am trying to use Skype.
I have checked that the driver is up to date. ( right click on IDT in Device Manager) and this was confirmed.
I would be very grateful for any other suggestions.
    Christopher

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I opened the Sound control panel as you suggested and the Internal Mic (IDT) is shown in the list of microphones and has a green tick ( and is already enabled in properties). It is selected as a default device. ( the icon shows a picture of the laptop indicating the microphone on the lid  not the picture of the microphone as shown in your clip)
In the Sound control window there is a sound indicator panel to the right of the internal Mic Icon that has a green bar that moves up and down - indicating that the microphone is responding to sound.
However it is still not working in Skype and it is the Internal Mic that is selected as the device here.
Very frustrating as I really would like to Skype. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Skype Version 5.5.0.117 and this has not made any difference.
    Any other thoughts?

  • Internal Microphone Stopped Working

My internal microphone has stopped working. I use Garageband frequently and one day, suddenly, it just stopped working. Even in the system preferences there are no bars to indicate any sound being monitored. This is very strange as I haven't dropped the computer or done anything that might cause a hardware malfunction. I would really appreciate any help because I'm a musician and this was my way to record ideas on the fly.
I posted this question a week or two ago to no avail: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20038384#20038384
    Thanks!

I want to add that people can hear me tapping and buttons pushed when using skype.

  • Internal microphone not working on pavilion dv7

My mic seems to have stopped working on skype and after trying to follow someones advice on a different forum I may now have deleted the mic driver !!
    Can anyone help?

    Hi,
Start the notebook and let Windows fully load.  Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In to the Run box type msconfig and hit enter.  In the following window, click the Start up tab, remove the tick next to Skype and then click Apply to make the change.  Reboot the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55094.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook again and let Windows fully load.  Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - see if this has helped the issue.

  • Internal microphone not working on Pavilion DV6915NR

    Hello,
I recently downgraded from VISTA to XP and got everything working OK apart from the microphone. Speakers are working OK with the drivers Conexant HDAudio-221_XP (got from RapidShare).
I installed the drivers using the  WiSVHe5.inf file, but no way to have the mike working.
In device manager, I had an unrecognized device which I suspected was the microphone, and the only driver which installed OK is the conexant RipTide Input device, but still no microphone. Any ideas ?
    Thanks in advance !
Configuration: Pavilion DV6915NR, AMD Turion X2 TL-60 2 Ghz, NVidia chipset, Nvidia GeForce 7150 graphic card, 200 Gb SATA Hard drive

Hello I have the same problem but using Windows 7. Everything work fine but not the internal mic of my notebook. I would appreciate any help too!

  • Tab S8-50L microphone stopped working

    Hello,
I recently bought this tablet and the mic was working (recorded a test video with sound). Now the sound is not recorded, neither when using sound recorder nor video recorder nor even Serviceit (Lenovo diagnostics app).
    Already tried the following solution:
Settings -> Language & Input -> Voice Search -> Bluetooth headset [TICK]
Unfortunately it didn't work, still nothing gets recorded.
I would like to believe this is a softfare problem, because my tablet didn't fall or get wet...

I think that I figured out my problem, hopefully this will help others if you are encountering a problem with your internal microphone stopping working.
    I changed:
FROM: Stereo Mix, Realtek High Definition Audio working (checked/default) -- unchecked now...
TO:  Microphone, Realtex High Definition Audio working (checked/default) and it works fine now.

  • Integrated microphone stopped working suddenly on my HP i-7 DV6! I tried everything!

Hi guys! Thanks to anyone seeing this. My laptop's integrated microphone stopped working suddenly. I have daily skype meetings and it worked perfectly fine but today it suddenly didn't work. I didn't make any significant changes before that.
I tried uninstalling and installing the drivers from the website but when I uninstalled, the new drivers said that a device is missing. I cannot paste the error message exactly how is written for you because it is in greek. but the translation is that a device part is missing or something.
after that I've done a system restore went back 4 days and I have now my drivers back but the microphone still isn't working.
I figured out that if i plug my apple headphones i can hear audio but it doesnt detect my recording. (i dont know if it's supposed to anyway!
Thanks in advance to anyone that might have a solution!

Thank you for this. You are amazing for trying to help me. I kept on not being able to find the solution for 2 days and no voice application worked until yesterday evening. I logged into an online shop and bought a headset costing £10. As long as I entered my details and pressed PAY, my girlfriend called me on skype and voila, she could hear me. I think there might be something wrong with the insides of my laptop! Might be a significant amount of dust and dirt.
Thank you very much again. If this happens again I will read this post again carefully and get back to you.

  • NB205-N312 microphone stopped working

I'm not sure when the last time it worked was but today when I tried to use my microphone in Skype it wouldn't work at all. I tested the hardware in the control panel and the microphone wouldn't pick up any sound there either. I tried rebooting, then uninstalling and reinstalling the hardware, then reinstalling the driver. Nothing made any difference. There were a few intermittent seconds during some of my tests where the microphone would very briefly register input but those times lasted 1 second at best. This is an NB205-N312BL running Windows XP Service Pack 3. Any advice? I'm not sure what else to try.

This is not the problem.  audio recordings and video recordings are all just a static line.  No recording of sound just static.  It works with an external mike but why did the internal mike stop working?  All settings are go but it doesn't record sound.

    Hey coolasc,
If you had a lot of updates come through, you'll want to make sure that BIOS was one of them.
BIOS stands for Basic Input/Output System/Service. It is the language that all of the hardware components in your computer use to communicate with each other. There are updates which come out periodically for it so it would be best to have the latest version. The following steps were taken from here.
Windows 8: From the Start screen, type "msinfo32". Click msinfo32 from the list of results.
Windows 7&Vista: Click the Start button, type "msinfo32". Click msinfo32.exe from the list of results.
About halfway down on the right, look for BIOS Version/Date.
    3. Copy and paste the information to the right of BIOS Version/Date in the value column, into your reply.
The latest version on the HP Drive Page for your particular notebook is F.66. It could be that a lot of updates other than BIOS came through and BIOS just hasn't come through quite yet (if this is the case, it would be fine to manually install the latest version). If you have a version higher than F.66 by some chance, go back to F.66 by just downloading and installing it.
The BIOS being out-of-date or just out of sync with the other updates that came through, could definitely cause an issue like this.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if these suggestions helped (this could help others with the same issue). I'll keep an eye out for your reply!

  • NB 200 internal microphone not working

I have been using my NB 200 to communicate via skype for some time and now the internal microphone has stopped working. I have managed to get it working for a brief period last night but then it stopped again when my system rebooted. It therefore appearst o be a software issue. I have tried installing up to date driver software (Realtech) and system restore but the computer says nothign has changed so it will not restore. Please advise. I am using XP as my oeprating system

I've got this problem - internal microphone was working fine up to few weeks ago when I last used it for Skype. All that's happened since then is a couple of Windows updates but now I can't get it to work.
I've tried all the things suggested in this thread:
    - Updated Chicony software for webcam
    - Updated Realtek software
An external microphone works OK for Skype and the voice recorder utility but doesn't work with audio/video recording using the webcam software.
A Bluetooth headset (which I know is working properly) will connect with the netbook to listen to music and works fine to listen to Skype but won't work to speak and won't work at all record or playback with the webcam software.
I've fiddled with all the control panel settings including voice settings and run all the tests.
So does this sound like a hardware problem or a software problem? If the microphone itself was damaged, why would that affect the use of an external microphone?
Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm reluctant to follow up the last suggestion in this thread about reinstalling the OS as I'm not sure why that might sort out the problem?
    Thanks
