Internal PLNNR assignment in Routing (Direct input RCPTRA02)

Hi all,
i finally managed to complete my multiple structure lsmw to create routings via direct input RCPTRA02 program. The only thing i want from SAP now is to assign plan numbers internally. i dont want to give a plannumber for each routing i create, and besides, there's so much data that i can't find logical plan numbers for all those materials.
Can anyone explain how i can make my RCPTRA02 lsmw assign the plannr internally? In change of each material, i want system to create a new plan number. Every material will have its own plan this way.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Bora.

The number is auto-generated, have you tried creating a few routings in your sandbox? If not please check, system will auto-generate the number.
Check & revert.

Vivek

• RCPTRA02 - Direct Input Error logs

Hi All,
We are using LSMW - RCPTRA02 direct input approach to load Routing's in ECC 6.0 as a part of data migration. We are facing issue while reviewing logs displayed after completion of LSMW execution. This direct input program does not display record number which have been failed or successfully updated. So we could not able to tie back which all records have been failed and due to what reason at what level. This is potentially will delay our data load verification process in production. We cannot change our approach at this moment.
So is there any better way to understand logs displayed by RCPTRA02 direct input program?
Your help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do recording again...
Be carefule while recording, sometimes you see some pop up screens which you need to press "Enter" or "ESC".
I am not familiar with your transaction code but I can tell what the problem is,
There is screen coming up when you are loading and it is expecting input from you, it can be either data or just an ENTER / ESC.
Execute your program in foreground and see what you have to enter.
I advise you to do a recording again but be careful with pop up screens.
There can be another problem, may be configuration might have changed after you create your program.
Execute it in foreground and you will see if order of screen has been changed or not.
Let me know if this does not solve your problem.

• Material Master upload - LSMW direct input method - Internal Number problem

Dear friends,
I am uploading material masters with LSMW - Direct Input Method.
The materials have internal numbers.
I have four plants and I want to extend the same material in all plants.
But LSMW is creating a new material for each row.
Is there any way out or any indication I put in file to repeat the internal numbers created for all other plants?
I can create another LSMW for material extension. But I want to know whether the problem can be solved in the current LSMW?

• LSMW Direct Input Inspection Plan Not Writing Inspection Char File

Hello Experts,
I am using Direct Input Program RCPTRA01 to Load Inspection Plan.
Created 3 structures - Inpection Plan/Operations/Inspection Characteristics one below the other in that order.
We have a internal numbering system for assigning Group to Inspection Plan.
I defined GROUPID column in Maintain Source Fields Inspection Plan/Operations/Inspections characteristics structures and set "Identifying Field Content" as 1.
When i read data - program is reading inspection plan and operations. But it is not writing Inspection Plan file.
What am i missing. Spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what i am missing.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have exactly followed the same thread.

• Static [Public] IP vs. DHCP Assigned IP [Router IP Allocation] on Server 2012 R2 Setup

I am deploying a new server specifically for creating and managing VM's with Hyper-V. My testing environment includes a Dell T620 server with 3 each 1 Tb drives configured for Raid 5. My server has 2 Nics. I am installing Server 2012 R2 along with AD
& Hyper-V Roles. I have a block of public IP's from my provider. My first question is related to how I configure a Nic to use a public IP. One option is to use DHCP to have an internal IP assigned and then once the IP is assigned, I log into my router
and configure IP Address Allocation to assign the public IP network details to the DHCP assigned IP. I have used this method on a T610 testing server that uses the VMware ESXi Hypervisor with success. Option 2 is to actually input the public IP network details.
I also have to ask the same question as to which method is better when it comes to the Switch. If any of the experienced engineers want to throw in additional advice or tips, that would be appreciated. My initial deployment has gone well but I feel like I
can make it easier and more secure. Thanks in advance for the support.

1. For servers static IP addresses are used.
2. It is a good habit to use one nic for communication and one for management.
3. DC should be single home server (otherwise you may have problems)
4. Use split brain configuration for DNS if you really need it. Otherwise private subnet is used.
5. Use firewall to prevent bad guys to enter your infrastructure.
6. Use DHCP server for client computers only.
7. DHCP on router is not used for AD clients, because these clients needs information on resouce records (to find DC).

FORM 2100_WS_DOWNLOAD TABLES INP_DATA.

Hi,
Thnaks for your reply, This is my requirement.
Here my problem is i am trying to upload the data from flatfile which contain materil number, denominator, Actual UOM, Nominator field values.
Which is the data i need to upload into MM02 and MM01, if material number is new then it has to create the material, if material is already existing it has to update the UOM values.
here i am getting data into my internal table INP_DATA, from that i am trying to upload the data to database by using job name MRP_MATERIAL_MASTER_DATA_UPLOAD with direct input program RMDATIND.
when i execute my program i am getting success message all the records writtin from flatfile to application server. and job started message.
then if i go into sm37 screen there i execute the job it is also giving active message. if i refresh it it is showing job completed message.
then i look at job log status. there i found that for existing material it is expecting material type, for new material it is giving some gravity error.
So could u help me in this it will be gr8.
Thanks & Regards,
RamNV

• Doubt in BDC direct input method

Hi experts
I dont know how to upload data in SAP data base by using BDC direct input coding method. Can u people explain this with coding?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Antony

Hi,
DI is used when u r going upload large amount of data for single application.
Better example where direct input method will be used is... uploading the data for material master.....it includes lot of views so its very much difficult to capture all the views and record the tcode and map the data in such conditions its better to go with DI methods
advantages:
in session method or CT method while uploading the data u do the validation by fallowing the screen sequence and field sequence where as in DI validations can be done set of code so this make the process very fast so its advantageous to upload large amout of data.
you always use the standard sap provided program for this.
Here in DI method very important thing is structure of flat file... so to know the structure first of all you have to download the data for one record into the internal table with the use of the same program then with the use of that structure u have to desing the flat file and upload the data.

• How to use copy of standard program for direct input in LSMW

currently we're using object 0085 Purchase Orders and and method 0001 for standard direct input, which is processed with program RM06EEI0
now I want to set an additional flag and avoid creating it by means of BUS PurchaseOrder.CreateFromData1 method (coz the structure is quite different and more complex).
so my question is now how can i assign a copy of the standard program for processing?
for better understanding I've attached a screenshot of the according screen

ok, solution was to maintain table SXDA1 (SAPDXfer: Data Transfer Objects and Sub-Category).
modify entries for DXPRG, DXPR1 and LOADPRG with custom program names

Please let me know what need to be done to avoid this error.

HI
If u r giving alternate UOM in Material Master.
first u need difine the conversion factor.
in basic data view u will have addtional data tab.
in that u need to define conversion factors first.

Hi
Before passing this unit to the program
check the conversion Exit in the Domain of the Field
and use the fun module
CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT and pass that value and see how it takes
otherwise use the fun module UNIT_CONVERSION_SIMPLE and pass the value to program

when i execute my program it is showing message job is started. then i go into sm37 and seethe job status by executing. there also i am seeing job completed succesfully.
but if i go to mm03 and find the materials are updated or created there i couldn't find the material numbers which are from internal table.

• BDC-Direct Input

Please give an example for Direct Input method in BDC.When it is used? what is the advantage and disadvantage?

Hi Khanna Renga ,
Direct Input method is used for bulk transfer of data into SAP system. It results in faster execution since no screens are processed and the SAP database will be updated directly using the standard function modules.
Better example where direct input method will be used is... uploading the data for material master.....it includes lot of views so its very much difficult to capture all the views and record the tcode and map the data in such conditions its better to go with DI methods
Advantages:
in session method or Call Transaction method while uploading the data u do the validation by fallowing the screen sequence and field sequence where as in Direct Input validations can be done set of code so this make the process very fast so its advantageous to upload large amout of data.
you always use the standard sap provided program for this.
Here in Direct Input method very important thing is structure of flat file... so to know the structure first of all you have to download the data for one record into the internal table with the use of the same program then with the use of that structure u have to desing the flat file and upload the data.
Direct Input:
With direct input, the SAP function modules execute the consistency checks. However with batch input, these consistency checks are executed with help of the screens. This means that direct input has considerable performance advantages. But there are a few programs for direct input, you can use them if it accomplishes your goal. Direct Input programs work like that they update database tables directly. As you know that it is forbidden to update SAP database tables directly, since consistency and security should be considered. Exceptions are these direct input programs. So you are not able to write custom ABAP direct input programs. But of course you can write ABAP programs to update custom database tables (Z tables), if you are sure all about consistency.
SAP has created direct input programs because SAP wanted to enhance the batch input procedure, since batch input is slower. SAP offers the direct input technique, especially for transferring large amount of data. In contrast to batch input, this technique does not create sessions, but stores, updates, inserts data directly. To enter the data into the corresponding database tables directly, the system calls a number of function modules that execute any necessary checks. In case of errors, the direct input technique provides a restart mechanism. However, to able to activate the restart mechanism, direct input programs must be executed in the background only. To maintain and start these programs, use program RBMVSHOW or transaction BMV0.
Examples for direct input programs are:
RFBIBL00 - FI
RMDATIND - MM
RVAFSS00 - SD
RAALTD11 - AM
RKEVEXTO - CO-PA
Also have a look on below thread..
Re: re: direct input method
Re: Give a BDC example by Direct Input Method
In contrast to batch input, this technique does not create sessions, but stores the data directly. It does not simulate the online transaction. To enter the data into the corresponding database tables directly, the system calls a number of function modules that execute any necessary checks. In case of errors, the direct input technique provides a restart mechanism. However, to be able to activate the restart mechanism, direct input programs must be executed in the background only. Direct input checks the data thoroughly and then updates the database directly.
Hope it will solve your doubts and problem..
Reward points if useful..

• Re: direct input method

Hi,
Is there any standard direct input programs for material master upload.

Hi
There is a standard Programs for Different Modules.
But you need to populate the Data, and send the data to the Direct Input Program in a specific format , format in the sense you need to populate the nodata for fields which you don't want to update.
and submit to the std direct input program.

• Error Log in Direct Input Method of LSMW

Hello!
We are developing an upload through LSMW using its direct input method for material master. This method is better than the Recording method but the only problem we are having is maintaining the error log. Unlike the recording method, in direct input the system gives an error log but it cant me maintained in a permanent file i.e when we go back to the upload for specifying a new file, the error log of the previous file is gone.
Is there any way that we can maintain the error log in a permanent file? Help needed ASAP!
Thank You!
Regards
Sahar

When i enter %PC in the command field the system gives following information
Function code cannot be selected
         Message no. 00255
Diagnosis
You entered an inactive function code.
         You can trigger this by:
o   inputting directly in the OK code field,
o   inputting the fastpath of an inactive menu function,
o   choosing an inactive function key, or even by
o   choosing ENTER, if ENTER has an inactive function.
In batch input, a function code is included in field BDC_OKCODE of the
session, if this function code is not assigned to ENTER.
