Internal speaker and car kit

I am connecting my iPod 5 to the car stereo via a Belkin Tunecast transmitter. Sometimes it will work fine but at other times all I can get is the internal speaker on the iPod. Changing volume makes no difference.
This always happens if I have to stop the car and stop the iPod mid song. When I resume it goes straight to the internal speaker. The speaker seems more trouble than it is worth.
Any ideas?

I get same thing sometimes when I first plug my Nano into the docking port I have in my car. I think it might be because they're 3rd party items that aren't set up to be compatible with the 5th generation, so they may not match up to the Nano's port 100%. I just wiggle mine a little when I plug it in and it works just fine.

  • Mac Mini Internal Speaker and Airport Adapter

I have the 2008 Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83Ghz. I have been having problems with the internal speaker and the internal airport adapter.
    Speaker:
80% of the time, the internal speaker isn't working when booted into OS x, and when the mini is starting up it doesn't make the startup sound.
    Airport Adapter:
The signal drops to 1 bar all the time with the router but a couple feet away. It would start off as 4-5 bars and then drop to 1-2 bars and then stay there.
    Please Help!
    Thanks,
    Jimmy

    I FIGURED IT OUT!
To get this to work, you need to buy two things:
    1) Audio Hijack Pro software by RogueAmoeba, with the SoundFlower plugin.
    2) Griffin iMic.
Once you've installed both the hardware and software, do the following:
    1) In Hijack Pro, create a session with source type: audio device, and SoundFlower 2Ch as the input, and iMic as the output.
    2) Create a second session again with source type: audio device, and SoundFlower 2Ch as the input, but change the output to "Built-in Output."
    3) Click the "Hijack" button for both sessions, so Hijack Pro is hijacking audio from Soundflower and routing it to both outputs simultaneously.
    4) In System Preferences/Sound, change sound output to "SoundFlower 2Ch".

  • Sound Output - Internal Speaker and Headphone Jack?

I just installed my new iMac, which replaced my Mac Mini. I hook my Mac to my stereo via the headphone jack for playing iTunes. But most of the time I don't have the stereo on.
is there a way to keep the headphone jack plugged in and still have audio come out the internal speaker? Basically send audio output to both the internal speaker and the headphone jack at the same time?
On the Mac Mini this wasn't an issue because I had a splitter that ran from the mini to my monitor speakers and to my stereo.
    Thanks!

Hi, you can get the internals to give notice of emails & actions..externals for any other sound..
Sadly your wishes on this matter will not come to fruition...L

  • Sound on MacBookPro stopped on internal speaker and when using earphones

Sound on MacBookPro stopped on internal speaker and when using earphones.  I re-booted and tried again.  No luck.

There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Some may not apply to your model. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
    2. Run Software Update and make sure you have a fully up-to-date installation of OS X.
    3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
    4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
    5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
    6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
    7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by the warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
    8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Restart and test.
    9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn off Bluetooth and restart.
    10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do notappear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
    11. Reset the NVRAM.
    12. Reset the SMC.
    13. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/Audio
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Recreate your settings in the Sound preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    14. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data.
    15. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.

  • Nano and car kit

    Hi
I bought a 5th gen nano for my girlfriend for Christmas and I can't get it working with her car kit. My iphone and her old ipod mini work fine on it but when the nano is plugged in it still plays out of the internal speaker. I though maybe there was a new kit or something for the nano but I haven't seen anything about that as well as the nano works in an old iHome that was used for the mini. Any thoughts?

I had a nano plug from my car stereo,,,the 30 pin connector did not work,,,the audio sound store, set me up with an adapter from the aux input that connects to the headphone jack,,and promised me an adapter in the next couple of weeks for the 30 pin...

  • N series and car kits

I am newbie so wasnt sure where to post this. I am considering an N70 but have an old Car kit (I think its a CARK-91) Is there an adaptor like an EVO converter that is compatible for this and any of the N series yet? I dont want to have install a whole new kit!

I suspect it is more likely to be the bluetooth software on this handset. I have the same problem with a non nokia SPV M2000 pda phone. It won't pair to any bluetooth Car hands free systems even a motorolla Bluetooth headset. I am trying to get it to work with the BMW integrated bluetooth car kit now. No joy!!

  • Bluetooth and car kit

Hi, I have aproblem with the iPhone Bluetooth. The car systesn is able to recognize the iPhone and viceversa, then the car system asks to dial a passkey both on the car (easy) and on the iPhone: here I have the problemn sicne I don't know what to do, since no keyboard is available on the iPhone part regarding bkettooth: just if it is active and if it is able to find a device. So at he end nothing happens and the abilition of the is always "failed". What can I do?
    Thanks a lot
    MAC 3

Use the iPhone to 'find' and set up the car kit rather than the other way around (using your car to find and set up the iPhone). Go to settings, then general, then bluetooth - the phone will search for and [hopefully] find our car kit (you'll need to read your car kits manual and set your car kit in discoverable mode), then touch the car kit and the iPhone's 'keyboard' will appear asking for your car kit's pass code. Key that in and presto... done...

  • 6233 and Car Kit

I have a 6233 with the associated car kit and cradle. I have just had an upgrade to 6300. I appreciate that I can connect any phone via blue tooth to the car kit but the cradle charged the phone and also was visible from the driving seat to be able to navigate through my contacts. Can anybody recommend a solution or is there any such conversion from the old connection to new where I can use the existing cradle. I do have the CK-7W fitted and wondered how difficult it would be to change this to something like CK-15W. How much more wiring would be involved. I know this doesn't solve my incar charging I suppose I'll just have to go back to the old method of using electricity. Many thanks.

Nokia do not make a cradle for the 6300 but you can get a charging cradle from Brodit. The ck-15 has mostly the same connections as a ck-7w.

  • 750 and Car Kit

I have a 680 and gps cradle kit and it works fine. My wife becuase of her work has a 750. I would like to get her a car kit so that she can plug her wired headset into it and then just set your 750 into the cradle and have it charge and the headset work. The gps car kit that I have says it does not support 750. Is there another car kit that works with the 750?

  • N95 and Car Kit

I have been seeing different posts around regarding car kit solutions for the N95. Most people are saying to install the Nokia CK-7W but this doesn't seem perfect as you need a separate cradle and charging system + you still need to end a call by pressing the red button on the phone.
Has anyone come across any kits that are better for the N95 yet?
    M

Sadly not, the best option for you would be the new CK-300 which is pretty much the same price as the CK-15W (maybe cheaper)
There is a file you load on to the N95 and then the screen of the phone becomes the display. This is all controlled by the navi wheel (which is much nicer than the CK-15W one)
Because the contacts are already on the phone there is need to download them across anywhere. Plus the CK-300 has a lead that will charge the phone, and (if your car stereo has aux in) will also allow the N95 stream music over Bluetooth. You can even attach an Ipod to it.
PM Me if you want any more info on this kit.

  • Can you have sound coming out from both internal speaker and speakers connected to the iMac?

I have a pair of KRK Rokit 5 speakers connected to the headphones jack at the back of the iMac.
I use these for playing good quality sound when I need to record on Garageband.
However they are mains powered and have a switch at the back which is difficult to always turn due to the position of the speakers. At the same time I don't want to have the speakers turned on all the time.
Is there a way to enable the Mac to play sound through its onboard speaker without disconnecting the speakers' cable?
Thsi should be possible, becasue whenever I restart the Mac I can hear it s start up jingle clearly coming out from its onboard speaker, even when the external speakers are plugged in.
    Thanks

Unfortunately the iMac is not designed to offer that setup capability.  If you go into your Applications folder>System Preferences>"Sound">here you will find that you can select the device that the iMac's sound output is sent thru (see below)>you will find that you can only select "one" device at a time to receive the audio signal, not multiple devices at once.  The "startup chimes" are separate from the normal audio output and Always come from the internal speakers.

  • Videos/Games use internal speaker and not Bluetooth headphones with 4.2

Until yesterday, the bluetooth headphones would output all sounds.. music, videos, games..
With 4.2, it now only outputs sound on MUSIC. For videos, you need to click the sound icon and select the headphones. If you're listening to the ipod music on shuffle (and have music videos in there), it will play the music part in the headphones but switch the ipad speaker when a video comes on.
As annoying as that is, this part can be changed. In games, theres no way to change the output to the headphones (it's all the ipad speaker).
Is this intentional? something I need to change in settings somewhere?

You've done well with troubleshooting so far. Next step would be to back up and then restore from iTunes. Good luck!

  • My internal speaker on mac book pro works through external devices (e.g headphones) and a red light appears on my audio line port what should i do?

i used macbook pro  2009 OS X 10.9.5 yosemite and  i got troubled on my internal speaker  and it only works through external devices what should i do pls help?

This is the Mac Pro desktop forum. I requested your post be moved to the MacBook Pro laptop forum.
Please move the MacBook Pro forum. Thanks
Also if you mean by external is via the headphone jack then try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

  • 1.1.3 and Parrot Bluetooth car kit problems and solution

I've discovered a potential fix with help from the good folks at Parrot Bluetooth devices technical support. The main issue with version 1.1.3 upgrade and car kits appears to be when the iPhone attempts to sync contacts with the BT device. Apparently, something changed in 1.1.3 about how Apple sent contacts through BT. To fix it on a Parrot car kit, first delete the iPhone from the list of paired devices on the car kit. Then unpair the car kit on the iPhone. Pair the two devices following your devices instructions, only with contact synchronization disabled. On my 3200LS this meant selecting "Disable Synchro" from the phone pairing list. The connection was quick and rock solid after doing this.
I have seen reports of this same solution working with Ford Sync devices also, and it may address some of the Garmin issues too. Obviously, this isn't ideal since you won't have any contacts or at least will have to manually enter them on your device. But it should get you through until Apple devises a fix in a near future (hint Apple) upgrade.

    Klash,
Try updating to iPhone 1.1.4, and see if your issue is resolved.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.
