Internal speaker-iPod Touch 4g

Getting no audio from the internal speaker.....anybody got any clues?  Headphones work just fine.
I've already reset the device a few times....no luck.
Guessing speaker is dead...but wanted to check here first.
Thx.

To rule out a software problem restore the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Calibrating internal gyro - iPod Touch 4

Is there any way to calibrate the internal gyro in the iPod Touch 4 or iPhone? There are a few apps I use, in particular the 360 panorama apps, that rely on the internal gyro in order to work properly. Apparently the internal gyro in my iPod Touch 4 has excessive "drift" and even when the iPod is stationary in my tripod mount it sends the signal that it is gradually turning. The way this works in the app is that I turn 30° but the gyro itells the app that I have turned 35° (or whatever). The apps have no way to correct for this "drift". What it means is that a 360° panorama can never be a complete 360° that joins back together seamlessly. Instead I get a 360 panorama that covers only 280 or 300° and doesn't join at the right place. If I turn in the other direction I get a panorama that duplicates part of the same area, about 420° in the 360.
After going back and forth several times with the app makers they say my iPod gyro has excessive "drift". When I try the same apps on my brother's iPod Touch 4 (identical to mine), or another friend's iPhone, the apps work perfectly. The apps also work perfectly on an iPad. So it really is my iPod that is at fault. Well beyond warranty, of course. From what I understand, this gyro drift is not unknown among the app makers but they don't seem to have any way to correct it.

  • Do the speakers in the iPod Touch matter?

I have an iPod touch 1st gen and it does not have speakers. I am wondering if they make a difference.
    Just personal preferences please.

    Just for clarification...
According to Apple there is only "One" Speaker.... not speakers...
    *"Built-in speaker"*

The Speaker is also good for listening to voice memos just to name another use without having to put in the earphones.

  • My iPod Touch will not play through external speakers when it is docked.  It only plays through it's internal speaker.  All the other functions on the iPod can be controlled by the external speakers (volume, track, etc).  How do I fix this?

My iPod Touch will not play through external speakers when it is docked.  It only plays through it's internal speaker.  All the other functions on the iPod can be controlled by the external speakers (volume, track, etc).  How do I fix this?

    I would try in oreder:
    - Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • No sound is coming from the internal speaker of iPod touch

The internal speaker on my iPod touch no longer works. I've already reset it, any other ideas? And yes, it did work before.

was it water or physically damaged, if not
then just check the volume button on the right hand side if volume is not low
if still facing issues then u just need to go to an apple store and get it replaced if your device is still under warranty

  • Brand new ipod-touch internal speaker suddenly stopped working all-together? Please help!

Just got my brand new, white Ipod- Touch and was surfing on youtube, watched a video and mid video the sound just vanished. now no sounds come from the internal speaker whatsoever, but headphones still work. I have tried restarting it as well as reseting, can anyone help me?! Thanks a lot!

That sounds like a mechanical problem.  You might want to insert and remove the headphone plug several times and see if it fixed the issue.  If it does not, call Apple.  800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. and I think Canada.

  • The internal speaker stopped working in my 4th gen ipod touch, what could be wrong with it?

the internal speaker in my 4th gen touch stop working, i can plug the headphones in and it still plays sound through them, when i unplug the headphones it wont play sounds outloud how would i fix it?

Try the sandard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup[
    - Restore to factoy defaults/new iPod
If still a problem you very likelu have a hardware problem.  Likely a problem with the headphone jack. An appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store would be a good idea.

  • My internal speaker on my iPod touch has no output?

I have an iPod touch (5th Generation) and there is no sound output from the internal speaker. Any ideas on how to resolve?

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Already suggested
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. Already suggested.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • Ipod touch internal speaker

Hi internal speaker stopped working after i last connected to itunes and downloaded a few more songs - i have tried everything   ive powered it off and on several times but still nothing and have finally just done a complete restore - but nothing doing - it works fine when you plug in the speakers/earphones but the second you remove them the sound stops and the sound volume bar dissapears - read that blowing in headphone socket may clean out dirt but i have done that and it didnt work . anyone got any clues at all?

    - You said you retored the iPod did not sya if yu restored to factory defaults/new iPod. Try that to rule aout a software problem.
    - Next I would make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store sincs I suspect the heaphone jack needs replacement..
    - Apple will only exchange your iPod for this price:

  • IPod Touch: Internal Speaker doesn't work

    Hi,
My iPod Touch was replaced ~6 months ago bec. the internal speaker was bad. This new one, though, the internal speaker doesn't work at all (except for the Clock/Alarm tones). The vol. button says "Headphones" on screen when you change the volume, whether or not the Headphones are plugged in. I've tried turning off and other things I've seen but no clear answer. Is there a fix for this?

    Have you tried restoring it?
Can be a Hardware problem, go to the nearest Apple Store and see if they can fix it

  • IPod touch 2g internal speaker

The internal speaker works for alarms but not for music-- I've messed with the volume.. it works fine while plugged into a dock or with headphones.
    How do I correct this?

Have you tried the standard fixes to rule out a softwre problem:
    - A reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new
Does the sound sound OK with headphones?

  • IPOD Touch 2n gen Internal Speaker Probelm!!!!!

I bought my ipod touch 2nd gen about a month ago and its been about a week that the internal speakers are not working when i try to turn the volume up with the rocker it says that there are still head phones connected but there is no heads in it.

Plug your headphones in and out a couple of times, it might be stuck in headphone mode. See if there is any debris inside the headphone port. If still no luck, see the next Apple store or talk to Apple support about a repair.

  • IPOD TOUCH 16 GB: Internal Speaker Not Working. Help!

I recently purchesed an iPod Touch, 16GB, not sure of the generation, off of someone on craiglist.com. I checked it out with the person there before paying, and everything worked fine. The only thing I didn't check was the speaker. (I had tried it with the headphones in.)
The speaker does not work at all. I tried resetting, restarting, updating (says that the software is current on itunes 3.1.3), and nothing still. It's set on speaker only (tried both setting also). When the headphones are in the volume slider, I can adjust it, but if I unplug them the slider completely disapperars and I can't adjust volume on speaker mode. Music, Apps, absolutely no sound on speaker setting. Help...please?

You can look up what gen you have at http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/
I don't know what else to try for the speaker problem. The original touches don't have a speaker, but it sounds like yours does, it just doesn't work.

  • IPod touch 4th gen  - no sound from speaker dock

After upgrading my 4th gen iPod touch o iOS 5, the speaker dock no longer works. The dock charges the iPod, but iPod still continues to output sound from the internal speaker rather than the speaker dock. My iPhone with iOS 5 works fine on the dock. I have restored the iPod to a fresh state but the problem still persists
    What could be the problem?
    Thank you

Based on your troubleshooting, it would appear theat iOS 5 on the iPod made the dock incompatible.  Have you loked at the dock manufactore's support site?
