Internal speakers gives no sound for model cq45-102tx

I have cq45-102tx. I downgraded from vista basic to XP SP2. When i downgraded the OS, bios version is upgraded to F.24 from F.12 but i can't install IDT HDA Codec, so i get error messages "no audio device installed" if i play audio. To solve that problem i downgraded bios to F11.E version and i can install IDT HDA Codec driver. Now i can hear sound from external speakers but Internal speaker gives no sound. How to solve this problem?. Thanks

There is a cable connector that is used with the speakers. Make sure it is connected.  The cable connector is under the keyboard bezel.  Drill down on the T61 manual:  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67760

  • IPod Touch Internal Speakers, Not outputting sound

I have an iPod touch and recently i tried to turn up the volume and I pressed the adjuster on the side and nothing happened the window didn't pop up and the sound didn't start coming out. I restored it and still have the same problem, I also have the latest software updated. Interesting thing is the alarms still play at full volume but music and notification tones will no.

I have experienced this issue multiple times. Not sure why, but I'm always able to fix it and have the volume adjustment pop-up and actually work. What I do, is a complete power-off (hold in top button and bottom circular button and slide to power-off) I do this while I have it plugged into itunes via usb and once I power on then, the sound clicks on and the volume option is avail and works. Hope it works for you guys and wasn't too hard to understand.
    Thanks.

  • My sound switches from internal speakers to apple Tv and i dont have an apple tv device

I am having problems with sound. My speakers will switch from internal speakers to Apple TV for no reason when I am on a certain wifi network and ask for a password. I do not have an apple TV and in order for the sound to come out on the internal speakers i have to manually go into the preferences and switch back to internal speakers. This does this constantly while i am listening to music. Is there a way to shut off the feature so it will stay on internal speakers? This has happened ever since i made the upgrade to OS mountain lion. I never did this before. Thank you for your help.

Are you sure that WIFI network doesn't have an AppleTV on it?  Just because you don't own it doesn't mean there isn't one on that network.  The laptop or better said the OS cannot differentiate between an AppleTV that you own or not.  If it sees one on the network, it will show you one as being available.  The automatic reconnection is happening probably because the last time you streamed to an AppleTV, you didn't drop that connection before sleeping the computer or shutting down iTunes.

  • MBP: no system sounds from internal speakers, other sounds fine

I have a 15" MacBook Pro (early 2011) running OSX Mountain Lion (10.8.2). Recently, I have noticed that it will occasionally stop making system sounds through my internal speakers following wake from sleep.
Playback from iTunes, Skype, internet etc seems to work fine, as does the volume increase/decrease feedback sound.
The problem persists until I reboot, then everything is fine again.
Not sure what's going on here, sometimes it will start playing all of the system sounds that had been saved up, i think it was when i pluged the headphones in. My Mac had been on for several days, and this playback took about 10-15 seconds of dings, beeps, trash empties etc to complete. From that point forward, things are normal.
It happens quite often and is getting really anoying.
Upon further testing I noticed that the system sounds stop (no crumple when emptying trash; no sent mail swoosh or iMessage pop).
I plug the headphones in and my machine makes all the sounds from the past several hours through the headphones. Again, things were fine from this point forward, whether I continued using the headphones, or unplugged and used the internal speakers.
Any ideas for things I can try to fix this?
Is this a hardware issue with the headphone jack?
If so, why would be stuffing up after a sleep/wake event ?

  • No sound from internal speakers anymore, only can use headphone jack

My Macbook just stopped working with the internal speakers - now no sound... but if I plug in headphones I can hear audio. Also, when I look at the headphone jack, it is lit up red inside! very weird. Anyone know what's going on? It really stinks to have no audio.
I know the speakers still work because when I restart the computer I hear the start up chime.

apple had to service the laptop and replace
    something- but it's fixed
hey. it's not a HUGE problem, although it's cool that you got it fixed. i currently (like, as i speak) have the same problem, but after reading a little bit, it seems that there's a little switch in there that's stuck. it determines whether ther's a headphone jack plugged in or not, and the red light just signals that it's not, but that switch says it is. so will apple really fix it? how long did it take?

  • Headphone jack distorted, but internal speakers fine?

I haven't even had it a day and I've already run into problems on my Macbook 2.2GHz C2D. It seems the internal speakers work just fine for music, but when I plug in headphones or earbuds into the output jack the vocals and anything that's not panned hard left/right basically goes away. And when I plug in a stereo system to the output jack it gives me a loud low frequency hum. This happens both in Leopard and in XP (I have both installed on the macbook). No red light in the output jack, and everything else works just fine (although I recently noticed I no longer get an XP boot screen... Kind of odd, but it may have to do with the fact that I have so much RAM installed).
What's weird is, if I go into the system sound preferences either in XP or Leopard and mess with the left/center/right balance, all the way left or right the vocals come back in (although it's still in both ears, which it shouldn't be), but when you center the balance you lose everything that is centered in the mix (mainly, the vocals and any main instrument that's not panned hard left/right).
I tried updating my drivers, using different headphones/earbuds, wiggling the jack around, different songs and players, even went so far as to reformat and reinstall Leopard. Still messed up :-[
The only aftermarket modifications I've made has been an upgrade from 1GB to 4GB RAM and a boot camp install of XP. Unfortunately, as I'm going to be using this computer mainly for Pro Tools music production and editing, I really need the headphone jack to be at 100%!
Any suggestions? I'm thinking it's hardware related, as it happens both in XP and Leopard with all the latest drivers installed.

Try switching back to your previous ram and see if there is any difference. It may be hardware as you say, and a quick trip to your Apple tech should verify that. I work with audio too ...I like to use the Griffin iMic for both sound in and out - it's a USB devise that'll give you a better signal and keep your line in/out ports free so you're not jarring them when you have the small 1/8th adapters/cables plugged in.

  • My computer no longer detects internal speakers

This evening I opened my macbook to play something from itunes and I got no sound and this:
So I checked the sound in my system preferences and noticed that it no longer listed internal speakers as a sound output
Does that mean my speakers are kaput? Is there hopefully a less expensive explanation?

is a red light coming out of the headphone jack?

  • Sound for when a USB key inserted

For a decade or more I have used the wonderful launcher and program organizer DragThing by James Thomson - excellent.  It also gives me sounds for things like when I plug-in a USB key or insert a CD or DVD-- and lots more.
But I'm now configuring a computer for my daughter and I am trying to keep things real simple as she is a PC user and I don't want to throw too much at her that she won't use.  So the Dock will be the first "launcher" along with Launch Pad -- BUT
BUT-- how to get the sounds for special actions like inserting a disc or USB key if I don't use DragThing?  Are there other small programs out there that can add these features.  YES I've tried to google this but have not found the exact thing for which I am seeking--
Thanks for any comments / suggestions --
    Best regards,

It is possible. It certainly has to spend time mounting the USB key info to the system while it boots up since it attempts to mount every file system connected to it when it starts up. Try booting without it to see if it makes a difference.

  • For 1/11/11 expert day: can hear sounds on headphones but no sound via the internal speakers

HP Pavilion dv6135nr Notebook internal speakers have stopped working.  I can hear sounds on headphones but no sound via the internal speakers.  A search on HP customer care for my notebook yielded the download recommendation below, even though I had not stated my problem.  However, executing this download did NOT resolve the problem.  Please advise regarding resolution to inoperable speakers.  I do not know if all of my sound and audio settings are correct, but the mute is not on and the volume controls are properly set.  The default device is Conexant High Definition Audio output, per the sound and audio devices properties hardware  tab the device status states "this device is working properly."  Is it possible that a Skype or Foxfire update is in conflict with this device?  If so, how do I resolve this situation?
    Thank you.

Re: Fixes issue where the notebook speakers do not work after headphones or earphones are used for a while and then unplugged.
HOW DO YOU FIX THIS?? I cannot find the correct Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio that works with my computer...
    My computer:
    VISTA
    HP Compaq 2230s Notebook PC
Everytime I use my headphones for more than an hour or two, the **bleep** audio will not play on my notebook's speakers, just through the headphones. Usually restarting a few times resolves the problem, but not this time. If I knew that HP computers sucked this much I would never have spent so much money on this one!!!
Can you please tell me how to fix this problem once and for all? Thanks!!
