Internal workspace in Oracle11XE
Hi All,
I have installed Oracle11XE on our server. It has inbuilt APEX so no need for any separate installation. I was able to create new workspace and set the credentials for the same.
But, now how to I know what's the default password for INTERNAL workspace.. Also, not sure if it actually exists...
Mainly I am looking for an option to enable users to upload files in APEX...(ryt not application does not store any files) i read somewhere that it can be done by some setting change in internal workspace... let me know if der is other way too
Thanks!!
Hi InoL, I did not logged in earlier using Admin account. In Oracle11XE, APEX is already inbuilt.... What i did was....
1> launched 'Getting Started'.
2> Logged in using SYS user.
3> Last tab shows APEX page..
4> Created new workspace and assigned it username and pwd (it actually never asked anything other then SYS credentials)...
Thanks for you help too, really appreciated!!
Cheers,

Failure to log in to INTERNAL workspace as ADMIN
Hello,
I have an oracle 11.1.0.6 database installation where apex is also installed and configured.
I had used it quite some time back but today when I tried to log in to default INTERNAL workspace with user as ADMIN,
it is always giving me "Invalid Login credentials" message. Searching on web led me to run @apxxepwd.sql in order to change the
password for ADMIN. While the password change was successful, I am still not able to log into APEX.
Can somebody help please?You might do 2 things.
First look at your Applications -> Utilities -> Console to see if there are any errors related to your connection failure in your MacBook Pro logs.
Second, look at the server's logs to see if has anything say about why it refused your connection attempt. -
Eror when altering altering SOURCE_IDENTIFIER in INTERNAL workspace
Hello,
When trying to change "Feedback Synchronization Source Identifier" in internal workspace I get following error:
ORA-20505: Error in DML: p_rowid=1475226386029271, p_alt_rowid=ID, p_rowid2=, p_alt_rowid2=. ORA-12899: value too large for column "APEX_040000"."WWV_FLOW_COMPANIES"."SOURCE_IDENTIFIER" (actual: 14, maximum: 8)
Error processing row of table WWV_FLOW_COMPANIES.
Return to application.
Of course I know what it means but maybe for future releases this can be adjusted..

OliHi Oli,
thanks for reporting this issue. I have filed a bug for it.

How to access tables in another workspace (same server) ?
This one is probably simple, but I can't figure it out : we have different applications in different workspaces but on the same server : how I can simply access tables (read only is enough) in a different workspace than the application ?
Edited by: JJ MAHE - Oracle on Mar 18, 2013 2:07 AMHello
If you need access to oracle schema, the schema needs to be assigne to desired workspace. You can configure it in INTERNAL Workspace. One Oracle schema can be assigne to many workspaces.

Edited by: Andres Vilallave on 25-feb-2013 10:05You seem to be getting an error on your workspace id, I'm guessing you tried to create it manually first.
So instead of creating a new workspace you need to do an update of your manually created workspace.
That's ok you can create it manually first, Ill describe here how you can update it.
First go to the view APEX_WORKSPACES in your APEX 4.1 schema in the database. Find out what the workspace ID is in your database.
Copy the ID and then open your workspace sql file (that you import).
Go to the line:
begin
wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>XXXXX);
end;
Replace XXX with your workspace id.
Import the file. -

paresh_vakilAs far as I am away from the setup document yes I have. I have set the values in the Internal workspace for the in my case localhost , port is 8888 and the jsp file is the one supplied in the document.
I can see http://localhost:8888 but can't see the JS file, which makes me think that the JS is not working.
I am running the export on a report with a print button.
Do I need to supply an XML document as well, I have set a default stylesheet as the output but still doesn't work.

Can't Access Administrative Services after "Disable Workspace Login"
Hi,
I have been testing a production configuration on my local APEX instance, and run into the following difficultly. I disabled the Workspace Login fromHi Scott, jeeze.... that was quick! Must be the time difference :)
Must have submitted that post by accident, I was just swearing at my pc and typing it out again.
What I was trying to say was that I disabled the Workspace Login from Admin Services > Manage Service > Security.
When I attempted to login as the internal workspace, I get a 404.
Then, I though this must be the whole point of the apex_admin interface and attempted to log in via:
http://localhost:7777/pls/htmldb/apex_admin
Still the 404.
I have checked the access logs, and a 302 is generated before each 404.
I have also executed the following (as per instructions for reverting from a 'Disable Administrator Login") - just to be sure:
alter session set current_schema=flows_030100
BEGIN
WWV_FLOW_API.SET_SECURITY_GROUP_ID(p_security_group_id=>10);
WWV_FLOW_PLATFORM.SET_PREFERENCE(
p_preference_name => 'DISABLE_ADMIN_LOGIN',
p_preference_value => 'N' );
end;
commit
Following a restart of both the db and http server, Im still getting the 404. -

Edited by: rommy on Apr 29, 2009 12:31 PMWhen You assign schema to workspace it does mean, that APEX user's of this workspace will be able to access it, however it does not relate to APEX user's in any way.
Go to APEX admin, go into workspace details for your workspace and when you scroll down there will be buttons "manage users" , find user with which you cannot log in and look account properties. -
Hello all,
I am not sure if this is the correct location for this but will give it a try.
Last week my organization setup a reverse proxy to our internal workspace so our external users would be able to login and use LC. The proxy gets external users to the login screen but after typing in the username/password and clicking login we get the spinning circle for about three seconds and then an error message that reads "An error occurred while initializing Workspace.".
Any ideas on why this is happening or if you have a functioning reverse proxy did you have to do anything special on the LC install?
Thanks,
~JoshI am not the one that setup the reverse proxy so I will have someone look into the logs for me.
I read your first blog entry you posted and noticed something in the server.xml that I am missing.
proxyName="apache.company.com" proxyPort="80"
Not having this line in the server.xml file could that be the possible explaination? Also, if I add this file will I only be able to use the proxy address or will the internal url still work?

Help! unable to create a worspace when no workspace exists yet
HI,
I have I APEX 402 on which I want to create a workspace.
At that moment, through the APEX console, I see that I only have the INTERNAL workspace.
When I try to create a new workspace, I get the error:
ORA-20001: error 28th ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object
Error provisioning WSQUETZAL2
There is no such workspace at that moment.
Can someone help me to identify the problem?
Thanks by advance for sharing your experience.

This error suggests that there is a database object exists with that name.
try running this sql and you will find out:
SELECT *
FROM all_objects
WHERE object_name = 'WSQUETZAL2'; -

Login to internal workspace. There you can manage all workspace users and reset passwords.

I have apex 3.2 with oracle 9i on server. apex works fine. today i tried to login as workspace admin (kpkdadmin) to admin page (i.e. f?p=4550:10). login failed. it gives message invalid login credentials.
if i login to sql plus using admin, it is successful and display all data & tables etc.
then i searched for forum and try to run validateapex.sql by login as system to database.
but i got errors ora-00942, pls-00201 multiple nomber of times.
I need to create database link by login kpkdadmin
kpkdadmin user status is open in dba_users tableBut my problem is that I am able to login in sql plus as kpkdadmin.
If password works ther it should work in apex on admin login page also
correct me if i am wrong.You are incorrect. The admin user for the APEX internal workspace does not correspond to an database user/schema.
The default username for the apex internal workspace is ADMIN. The password can be changed using apxxepwd.sql:
