International Data Pack - Notifications Warnings and Alerts
I recently added an $85/300Mb International Data Pack to my iPad. I received no Activation Confirmation, no data usage notificationa at 50%, 85% etc, and no warnings on activation in a new country. I lie awake at night and ponder these things, and the answer is quite simple: If you apply for an International Data Pack to be applied to an iPad (and most likely any Mobile Broadband device) the Pack will be applied OK, and it will work OK, but you will never get any SMS notifications, usage warnings or new country cost alerts!!An iPad SIM is only a 3G device (or 4G on later models) Telstra SMS notifications are in the 2G band, actually not even 2 G, they are sent in the signalling channels associated with voice calls, so SMSs can not technically be received on a 3G/4G Only device such as an iPad!You can try it yourself, turn off any web based messaging such as “iMessage” and send an old fashioned SMS TXT from your phone to your iPad number - your iPhone will not mark it as “Not delivered” but your iPad will never receive it.ps - you dont actually need to turn off iMessage, you can not send an iMessage to your iPad number either!You will see some messages on your iPad, (including SMS messages) but these are messages to your iPhone and only where/when you have your iPad and iPhone messages synced.You will also note that if you turn off iMessage in you iPad settings, you have no options to send an old-fashioned SMS (Thats because it is not technically possible to send (or receive) an SMS from a 3G device!)Others may disagree, so I welcome any debate or alternate opinion

I have been into MyAccount a dozen times, but I can find no path to change any Telstra SMS Alerts (which you can not get on an iPad) to an email alert? I'm a simple emperor of the dark side and the forces of good seem to be prevailing against me, so can anyone help me with keystroke-by-keystroke instructions?

Notification banners and alerts on dual displays
I have a mid-2011 MacBook Air connected through HDMI to a 24 in 1080p Asus external display. Notification banners and alerts will only show up on the Air display, and I would prefer to have them appear in the upper right corner on both displays. I haven't found any information through numerous Google searches, or among other Apple support discussions. Is there a setting or way to do this?
Thanks in advanceAs far as I can tell, the only control you have over where those banners and alerts appear on multiple displays is by changing which display is the "main" display. If you go into System Preferences > Displays, under the "Arrangement" tab, you can drag a little menu bar to one display or the other. In my tests, the alerts and banners always show up on whichever one has the menu bar in this preference pane.

Customize notifications (banners and alerts)
Is there any way one could make any notification in Mavericks interactive?
I started using Airmail instead of Mail.app and I noticed that you can customize the actions on the notification only if you use alerts. But they're annoying to me, since I have to manually dismiss them. So I thought maybe there's a way around.
So: can I make a notification interactive (using scripts or Automator, something) ? Can I make an alert to disappear on its own, to resemble a banner (again, using scripts or some Automator trick)?

Can you please explain more and detailed, because the way that you explained, is really confusing. I have an Ipod Touch 4th generation, and if you go to Notifications, and click on the App that you want to be notified, it will say "Nothing, Banners, Alerts". Banners are at the top, and Alerts are boxes in the middle of the screen. If you want, you could ask support.
How to change Notifications:
Settings > Notifictions > (Pick the app you want to be notified) > Tap on None,Banners, or Alerts.

Notification Rules and Alerting
I created 5 rules from the section "Notification Rules" using same user ID.
Is it possible to alert different email groups for each notification rule from the same ID. We select "send e-mail" option from the Notification Rules section, we will be recieving alerts for the e-mail ID that was configured in the General Section under --> Preferences. How do we configure the rules to notify different group's using the same ID.

Persistent warnings and alerts in Snow Leopard
Ever since upgrading from 10.5.8 (via +Migration Assistant+ ), my various email accounts are alternatively showing that little warning triangle, and the account would be offline:
This happens upon launching Mail. It usually goes away after a few subsequent +Get All New Mail+ or when it checks for new messages every X minutes as set in the prefs. The Alert message is sometimes +"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account "blahblah" or try again. The server returned the error: "the connection to host mail.comcast.net on port 110 failed."+
So it seems a bit corrupt. Or unstable.
What's causing this? How can I improve it?Internet connection is always on. It's Comcast cable. And it happens every time I launch Mail, regardless of waking from sleep, freshly logging in or restarting then logging in.

i just bought the new iPad and even though notifications are set exactly the same for mail and my app is turned on and in the Notifications Center and alerts and sounds selected for mail and apps only my iPad 2 is working. No alerts on iPad 3. I see other posts with same problem. Any suggestions or posts re same problem will be appreciated before I return to Apple Store for help. thanks.
Do you have system sounds muted? Check the button above your volume control on the right hand side of the iPad. If, when you change the button you see mute on your screen, you'll restore system sounds. If you see lock orientation, you can restore system sounds by double tapping your home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps). With your finger swipe those apps all the way to the right to reveal a mute icon on the left. Touch that icon and you'll restore system sounds.
Let us know if that was the issue. -

Receive two notifications (Warning and Critical) from Alert raised by Monitor
Hello,
Here's a problem. I use Windows OS management packs (for windows server 2003-2008-2012) and I need to create notification two times:
1. When logical disk free space monitor is in Warning state (changes state from Health->Warning)
2. When monitor changes state from Warning->Critical.
Now I can only set to Alert to be raised 1 time (Warning or Critical, Critical only), so notification reacts only one time. I created two notification subscription, but alert is raised only one time, and then only severity changes, notifications can't react
to this.
As far as i have read documentation, I will need to create custom monitor or rule for it, to create different alert.
I have tried to create Orchestrator Runbook with Get-Monitor element in it, but i cannot filter only 3 free space monitor that I need. It targets only Logical disk with some other monitors. SCOM Powershell Module also doesn't have needed tools to accomplish
this task.

since i have updated my iphone everytime i open an app it comes up with a message 'connect to itunes to use push notifications, may include alerts, sounds and icon badges, i have backed up my phone on itunes and restored phone but its still doing it can anyone help?

Is there a way to exclude specific calendars from Notifications and alerts?
I have 4 calendars: 1 Exchange and 1 Yahoo that includes 2 shared calendars (wife and MIL). I activate the Yahoo calendars only when I need them and do not need any yahoo reminders at all. When I swipe down the Notifications page, it includes all four calendars including the shared Yahoo calendars. What's worse, I get alerts from all four calendars.
I only want Exchange alerts and notifications. Is there a way to exclude the Yahoo calendars from Notifications and alerts?
Right now, the only way I can eliminate them is by deactivating the Yahoo account in Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars.Is there a way to only choose specific contacts from an existing group and add to a new group?

I have now followed multiple instructions from this and other forums. have turned push notifications off. Turned them on. Have updated to IOS 6. Have signed out and signed back in, have uninstalled all magazines and reinstalled. Have synced, and updated everything in iTunes.
Nothing works,. Also cannot use youtube.Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

I changed my data plan from 6g to 8g while my daughter who attends college outside of the US at Toronto Canada (and we have on a international calling and international data plan) was on spring break at her grandparents house here in the US. I made the change online since I had been waiting on the phone for over 10 minutes for a customer service rep to come available. Well when I made the change online since that seems to be the thing that Verizon wants it's customers to do and I didn't see all the different plans available and just did the upgrade to 8g. Next bill had over $900 in roaming charges on her phone line. I called the 1-800 number and waiting for a service rep and after 20 minutes of waiting and being put on hold was told it was the customers mistake and there was nothing they could do.Thanks for nothing. I called back after thinking about it and wondered why changing a data plan for the phones in the US would change a international call plan. Waiting over 10 minutes again between waiting for a service rep and hold for one to answer the call. Gave her all the information about it and she said she would call back. Well, 4 days later over the weekend she had nevered called back. So on the phone again for the third time and after 20 plus minutes again was told that when I did it online I click the plan that didn't include international call only the data plan. Explained that I never saw the difference in the plan packages so put on hold again and was told that they could credit $100 to my bill. Wow, thanks alot !!! We have been Verizon customers for probably atleast 12 years and this is how you treat your long term customers?

Change Weather Data Source in Notification Center and Siri
The data coming from Yahoo into the Weather app and iOS Notification Center says the temperature is 37f and the low/high for today is 43f/58f! Even the Yahoo Weather web site has the funky data. My other weather apps show the correct temperature which is 48f.
Is there a way to include a different weather/temperature source in the Notification Center and for Siri?The naitive weather app is the only weather app that you can have for the scroll in the notification center. Siri will check all its sources for weather related questions.
