I have two quick questions.
1) Will google translate work with business catalyst ecommerce website?
2) Has anyone here ever used International Checkout with business catalys? Does it work?

1. Since Google translate is just a JS widget you embed on your site it will work with BC.
2. I know that barcelonasouvenirs.com has different subdomains for different currencies and it's redirecting people automatically depending on where they're based.

I am not sure if this will be feasible, but perhaps you can <b>try accessing the RSS feeds</b> of the data that you need. I know about accessing the feeds from Enterprise Portal such that it even gets updated as the data on the actual site gets updated, but I am not very sure if it will work with XI. But, there is some hope since the feeds are XML content which XI can understand.

Problem downloading the Corporate Adressbook from internal Lync Website

Did that work before?
The error you provided is more related with the external dialin page.
I would like to suggest you run the command Test-CsAddressBookService to test the ability of a user to access the server that hosts the Address Book Download Web service.
Please check if you can search Lync contact by SIP address.
If you can, then you can access the address book service. It take some time to download the address book file.

How to use Xserve to host my ecommerce website

Hi everyone,
I'm really confused on how to use an xserve to host an ecommerce website I want to start for my business. I'm familiar with webpage code and stuff, but not really with the hosting/dns type stuff. If I were to purchase an Xserve, what exactly would that allow me to do? I'm very wary of hosting my website with some of these hosts out here, and I also believe I'm going to need a reliable website capable of handling a good amount of people all at once. If anyone could please fill in the blanks for me about how I would hook the Xserve up and have it attached to my domain name (for an example we can use mydomain.com as the domain name) and how it would work with the internet coming into my house now, that would be great. I just don't understand how any of that works. THANKS!

We do this trick for our customers. We are an ISP that manage the Xserve's, Dns and everything,only for Mac's. Find an ISP that gives you co-location and supports Xserves, this way you can concentrate on building your commerce site and let the ISP handle server stuff.

DW supplies some page layout templates. You can use them for
*any* layout.
It has the capacity to allow you to create an ecommerce
functionality,
either manually, or using one of the many 3rd-party plugins,

Hosting an ecommerce website with iMac and Mac server app

Would it be possible to run an effective small business website which includes an online store using my iMac (or Mac mini), a WYSIWYG editor, my current ISP, plus, do effective SEO, configure and employ other revenue streams in addition to my own website shopping cart feature such as google shopping and implement other revenue streams on my website like ad-sense?
I need to set-up an ecommerce site for my small business which I just bought a domain for. What I'm trying to find out is if it is better to use a web host, or, if I could use my iMac with the Apple server app (or buy the mini server) and host it myself. I don't have any programming language skills, but, I believe I am capable of doing this myself once I begin to comprehend and practice the neccasary processes to make all of this happen.

Getting the easy question out of the way: yes, an iMac running Server.app and add-on eCommerce software can do this.
Now for the tougher question: should you? You're signing on for maintaining and updating and troubleshooting and potentially site remediation and decontamination after issues or security attacks. You are also signing up for PCI compliance, if you're not working with another entity for credit-card processing. (Anything with credit card data is a target for attacks; there's money involved.)
There're the more germane aspects, too: ensuring your (static IP) network links have bandwidth, availability and latency (eg: ISP bandwidth, pingdom or other uptime checks, et al), and maintaining your servers against crashes and corruptions and hardware failures (eg: RAID, possibly redundant systems); maintaining site access against the usual sorts of outages. Software updates for OS X and for the ecommerce software and whatever other dependencies are involved, too. Regular backups are most definitely required.
Or alternatively: getting somebody to maintain this stuff for you, either hosted, or dedicated to and on your server(s) and your network links, or on your own co-lo servers.
All this in addition to running your business, and writing (good, frequently updated) content that'll draw in the search engine ranking and/or buying search keywords or whatever you're doing for advertising that'll draw in potential customers, and dealing with the finances and the rest.
Servers are somewhat different from clients, in terms of system management, too. Servers involve more than one user when they're out, and so you're not rebooting or reconfiguring them nearly as often as client systems can be modified. Servers can also tend to chew up bandwidth, if you're successful.
Key to running a business is figuring out what you don't need to do (either at all, or that you can outsource or host or whatever, or hire out for, etc), so that you can focus on what you do need to do to make the business successful... If you're just getting going and not into system administration and programming payment gateways and the rest of running a server, I'd suggest hosting the ecommerce stuff, at least to start with. Unless you want to learn how to run an ecommerce site, that is...

Cisco ASA and Internal Hosted Website

I have a Cisco ASA 8.4. I have an internal website for an application that they use both internal and externally (app.domain.com/app is 10.0.0.3) The company that hosts their External Website and DNS created a record that points to http://app.domain.com/app to their public ip 1.2.3.4. Externally everything works great I have port forward for 80 working. The problem is that when the users bring their laptops in to the office they are unable to get to the interanlly hosted website. I think the the firewall is having an issue letting the traffic back in. If i use the internal DNS and create a zone for domain.com with an A record for app.domain.com and point it to 10.0.0.3 the internal address..it works. Of course when they try to access the external website it does not work. So if create an A record that points to the web hosts address, it kinda of works...parts of the website don't come up. I really think I there is something like a hairpin or u-turn that needs to be done. Oh by the way this is my first real experince with an ASA. The Symantec Gateway they had worked great. I looked in the config and there were no hairpin or crazy rules, just the standard port forward for 80. Any ideas? I have tried several suggestions i found on the web, but none have worked.

Hi,
The main problem with such setup (from the ASAs perspective) is usually that the NAT for the server is configured from certain source interface towards some destination interface.
You might for example have this configuration
object network WEB-SERVER
host 10.0.0.3
nat (inside,outside) static interface service 80 80
This would enable connectivity from the behind "outside" interface towards which the translation is configured but not from behind "inside".
I am not sure how different vendor firewalls handle this situation if you say that you only had the original Static PAT configuration towards the external interface.
If you wanted to enable connectivity to the public IP address from your LAN you would have to make a NAT towards the "inside" interface from the "inside" interface. And thats not all. You would also have to configure Dynamic PAT for the source hosts on the LAN behind "inside". The reason for this is that the ASA needs to see the whole TCP conversation between the client/server and since we PAT all the users to the ASA "inside" interface IP address that makes sure that ASA sees the whole conversation between the hosts.
So you could try this configuration on the ASA
object network PUBLIC-IP
host
object network WEB-SERVER
host 10.0.0.3
object network LAN
subnet
nat (inside,inside) 1 source dynamic LAN interface destination static PUBLIC-IP WEB-SERVER
The above configuration would essentially look for connections coming from behind "inside" interface from the source address belonging to LAN to the destination IP address of PUBLIC-IP and proceed to UN-NAT the PUBLIC-IP to WEB-SERVER and PAT the source address to "interface" (inside interface IP address)
You would also perhaps needs to add this command
same-security-traffic permit intra-interface
This enabled the ASA to pass traffic through the same interface that the traffic arrived in. So basically do that Hairpin/U-turn
You can check the current configuration with the command
show run same-security-traffic
Do notice that there is a similiar command with a different parameter at the end (inter-interface vs. intra-interface). So check that you have the correct one.

I know this is off topic, but I want to build a website in iweb. I know you have to use .mac to publish it very easy. IS there a way to do it with out it? Also do you have to publish it to the .mac site, or can you publish it to your own domain? Ya know. like www.whatever.com instead of the .mac blah blah blah?

Creating a ecommerce website with Muse and BC

Hello,
I would like to create my site in Muse, then add a catalog in with business catalyst but i don't know if i will be able to continue editing the site in Muse once i upgrade it to webcommerce plan in business catalyst.
I also would like to know how it works when i integrate the catalog in Muse. Do i add a HTML code in a page in Muse then the visitor will be able to navigate in the catalog in the same Muse page? What are the steps to follow to implement a catalog in a Muse website?
I already watched some tutorials but never found specific answers.

Hi there, Do a bit of a forum search as there are a few topics on the Muse and eCommerce already.
You can kind of do something but Muse is more of a beginer tool to build basic websites for graphic designers. Its not really a web building tool.
There is a lot to eCommerce and you need to really understand BC, its modules, UI design, HTML, CSS and Javascript to implement eCommerce on BC correctly and get stuck in with coding.

Multiple Websites Question

I am a first time IWeb user. I apologize for the elementary question. I have created two unpublished websites - each with multiple webpages. Each time I publish the first website to a folder to preview, the other second website automatically publishes there as well.
When it comes time to publish to the web, will both my websites publish at once, or can I just designate the first one?

When publishing to dotmac you won't notice, but publishing to a folder is ALL.
When you publish to a folder and then upload it to a server, you may in the future just upload the page with the changes.
The structure of a iWeb site is rather simple. Each page has it's own folder with the content of that page. You have to remember what you changed.
When you add movies then you have to check the media folder too.

TE0720 Internal Temperature Sensor questions

I have a few questions about the TE0720 internal temperature sensor. I am able to get the value, but I am wondering where is it measured, and is it the junction temperature that's rated for 85C? I'm also wondering if there is a calibration procedure for the sensor or if it's automatically calibrated; and what is the variation of the sensor between chips if any.

I think its the FPGA internal temperature diode, read via the info adc block of the fpga, so the numbers are in the data sheet.

FIOS free website questions

How can I get help with the free website that comes with FIOS internet? I am trying to change the URL name from http://mysite.verizon.net/vze1a02w0/ to my own name after the .NET portion of the address ex. verizon.net/ABChome/
No one seems to be able to help me with anything related to this. Chat live repeatedly sends me to the MY DOMAIN people which cannot help me at all and they send me back to Chat live. I also want to know how to access the Website Member Directory, which no one knows the answer to either. Hopefully someone on here knows the answer. It seems that Verizon is marketing this free product but offers no support for it so that you purchase space on their server.

There are actually two URLs for your home page. The vzexxxxxx is your Verizon-assigned ID, but you can also replace that with your username to reach your page as well.

Both of those should work once you replace the pertinent section with your information.

Alternate URL for internal IIS website

Is port 80 in use on the server?

We currently have an IIS server hosting a web application for internal network. Let's say the server FQDN is abc.contoso.local and the application name is app01. I would normally access the site with this URL: http://abc:81/app01
I would like to be able to access the website using this: http://app01.contoso.com
We have a Windows Server 2008 R2 environment. Could someone please help me out over this; I initially thought this should be easy enough but I've been breaking my head on it ever since.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Progressive Design Website Question

I have made a new site and it's my first attempt at progressive design.

I am testing the progressive functionality of the site by dragging the browser window to it's narrowest width and observing how the website re-flows and images re-size. I think I may have some problem with the header section but I'm not sure.
What I'm trying to achieve is that when the browser is narrowed the header logo re-sizes, the contact info just disappears off the screen and the nav menu re-flows. It pretty much works that way as I have it.
1) On all of the pages, at a certain point while dragging the browser to a narrower width, a horizontal scroll bar appears. Is this normal or should this scroll bar not be appearing at all?
2) On the pages that have 2 main content columns "websites", renderings", "blog" and "about" when the browser is at it's narrowest width there is no horizontal scroll bar. Everything appears as I want it to. On the other pages "index/home" and "contact when the browser is at it's narrowest width there is a horiz scroll bar. It may have something to do with the 2px border but I am thinking it may also be related to the contact info in the header. I can't figure out how to make it go away.
If anyone can look at this and offer any advice it will be most appreciated. Also any other comments or criticism about my first attempt at progressive design will be welcome.
