International FAX calls using + do not complete

I've got a Zoom 3095 USB FAX modem on my Early-2008 Mac Pro, and it works fine sending FAXes via the Print dialog, if I specify the exact string of digits to dial, including Country Code prefix (00 here in the UK) and Country Code for international numbers.  But if I select a number from my Address Book, which is formatted '+CC' (for example +1 for USA), followed by the phone number, the call does not complete.  Since all of my Address Book telephone numbers are formatted that way, it means I can't send a FAX simply by selecting the Address Book entry.  For example, consider a US telephone number of (800) 555-1212.  It would be entered as +1-800-555-1212 in my Address Book.  If I try to send a FAX to that number, it does not complete.  I have to manually enter the number 0018005551212 (00 in UK to specify Country Code follows, 1 for US Country Code, and the rest).  The +CC format for Address Book is strongly recommended in order for these numbers to seamlessly dial from an iPhone from anyplace in the world, so it's not an option to stop using the +CC format.  The Print to USB Modem software should deal with these numbers correctly.

Skype is now owned by Microsoft and they don't seem to be responding to the problem. We now use Google Hangouts, it works great.

    Hi All,
Can any one let me the internal system call used by "ps" command to retrieve the process information. I want to use the same system call in my program to get list of information about processes currently running in the system. I do not want to use the "ps" command in my code.

  • 6310 : Call Divert - 'Request not Completed'

I have a Nokia 6310 and wish to set up a call divert.
I follow the instructions in the manual, setting the delay, etc, but when I get to select Activate I am given a error message of 'Request not Completed'.
    What is causing this?

If you're on a Pay & Go sim, some networks only allow you to divert to Voicemail - and it won't allow diverts to other mobiles/landlines.

  • Call divert request not completed!

I have Nokia X2-02 and on the first SIM whenever I try to activate call divert facility to my other number that is in my Nokia Lumia ,a message pops up saying "Request not completed"..tried restarting my phone, called the operator but they say there's nothing they could do,phone needs to be fixed.

Call divert is a network function. It sound to me they do not support this (for your SIM/contract).

  • CNG not detected in fax call

    Hi,
When using on-ramp t.37 gateway to detect fax calls, using the script called "app_fax_detect.2.1.2.2.tcl" the CNG is not detected.
DTMF activation (pressing 2) works, but CNG is not detected.

  • "Could not complete scan" error when using Windows Fax and Scan

"Could not complete scan" error when using Windows Fax and Scan with a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus All-In-One network printer.
    Printing is fine.
When using the HP Scan application, get the error "Scanner communication cannot be established".
When scanning from the printer itself it fails with the same message. In addition the printer panel displays the error:
"The scan could not be completed due to one or more of the following issues:
Connection to the computer is lost
    The scanner is in use
    OCR application is not installed"
My PC is a HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF 64bit, with ethernet cable to the router and ethernet cable to the printer
Originally ran Windows 8.0; recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.
Older separate Netgear router and modem was replaced with a newer Netgear Router/Modem, but both experienced the same problem.
There was no problem with the original Windows 8.0 configuration and only after upgrading to 8.1 did the problem emerge.
On my home netowrk I have an HP ProBook 6550b running Windows 7 sp1 that uses wireless to get to the Router, and it has no problem with scanning.
I have followed the recommendations of a number of articles relating to this issue (including: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02915410&product=4323659#N94), but there has been no change in behaviour.
    The printer has a static IP address;
Power settings have been adjusted to Never for Turn off Hard Disk; Sleep and Hybrid Sleep.
Scanning has been tested with all firewalls and antivirus turned off and in Selective Startup.
The printer has been plugged directly into the power socket.
With all these settings the Windows 8.1 cannot scan while the Windows 7 laptop with wireless to the router has no problems.
Appreciate any insights into this problem.
I can only surmise that the problem is a compatibility problem between the 8600 Printer and Windows 8.1.
    Any ideas?
    regards,
    Motorbike

You can determine if there is compatiblity between the printer and PC by checking the Windows 8.1 hardware compatibility list. I have done that and it is shown to be fully compatible.  If the driver you installed before was only the basic driver,it would explain the lack of scan and copy functionality.
Download and install the Windows 8.1 full feature driver and software on the HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF 64bit PC .

  • Fax line used for outgoing calls when incomming fax not coming in?

So is there a way to do this? Can I route the 1 FXO to FXS for incomming calls (and plug fax into FXS) or something like this and then use that line as an outgoing line when not in use?
I don't need step but steps but the basics of how something like this could be configured would be awesome!!!

I'm not sure if I understand. I set this up, so I understand phone systems enough to do this, but I don't really don't know the terminoligy.
    Let me back up.
Currently our business has 2 lines and a fax line. Right now the two lines are plugged into 2 FXO ports and the fax line is just plugged into the fax machine--not the UC320. We're in mixed mode, not pbx specifically. We get one or two faxes a day and we send two or 3 faxes a day. We'd like to be able to use the fax line for outgoing calls when it's not being used for fax.
So I need to be able to control the in and the out of the fax line. I need all incomming calls for the fax number routed to what I assume would be the FXS port (with the fax machine plugged into the FXS port), and none of the other lines routed in this way (the other lines would go to the attendant).
Then I need if we send a fax, we need for when the fax machine opens the line for it to automatically be routed to the fax line. Then the fax machine can dial and send faxes. I think we send few enough faxes that we're not too worried about what happens if we try to send a fax and the phone is busy, but it would be nice to be able to look at a phone and tell if the fax line is in use.
I don't really care if the Fax line is part of a shaed FXO, it can be a seperate choice on the phone for making outgoing calls (one of the buttons next to the screen or something).
Is all this possible? Is it only possible in PBX style or is mixed ok?

  • Internal fax modem not answering but sending ok

My iMac G5 internal fax modem will send a fax with no problem (how do I change the number of attempts it makes to send a fax until it gets thru successfully?) BUT, it will not answer incoming calls even though I have set the Print & Fax System Preference to Answer After 2 Rings (I tried other numbers of rings with no success)?
When I connect a telephone (in place of the modem) it will ring when a call comes in and it can be answered normally. I don't have a normal fax machine to test on this line.
This phone line can be split (with a filter on one side) so an ADSL modem can simultaneously use the line. I removed the splitter/filter so the connection is direct from the phone company to my iMac modem with no other devices on this line, but all remains the same; outgoing fax is fine, incoming calls don't get answered by the modem.
Can this be corrupt preferences, like if the Fax Prefs are stuck with the Receive Faxes on the Computer box unchecked? Can I delete the PrintAndFax.prefPane or some other file to get a fresh Pref?
    Any other ideas? Thanks, Jim

I hate to experiment on my own stuff when stuff is working, so I didn't see what would happen if I unchecked all of the following boxes, so I have to ask, you do have one or more of the Save to {folder}, Email to {email address}, or Print on printer {printer} checked, right?
Have you (or to your knowledge, anyone else) ever modified your /usr/bin/fax file to take advantage of the distinctive ring feature offered by many telephone companies? I have mine configured to only answer on my phone line's distinctive ring because I share the phone line with my home voice service. If you have a line of text in that file that reads like:
INIT="-iZ -i&FE0&D2S7=120 -i&C0-SDR=2" (or "SDR=3" or "SDR=4", etc.), that might explain why your modem isn't going off-hook, too.
I don't know if there is, and where a boolean for Receive faxes on this computer is stored -- I don't see it in my /Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.FaxPrefs.plist.
    You have a /Library/PreferencePanes/PrintAndFax.prefPane???

    Regards

You didn't mention what country your Online Number is in.  Not all of Skype's Online Numbers are eligible for use as Caller ID when calling telephones or sending SMS messages.  If your number is from one of these countries (Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Hong Kong, Poland, Sweden, the UK and the US), then it can be used this way.  Otherwise, you can use a mobile number from countries other than Japan or Mexico as Caller ID with Skype, after the number goes through a verification process where Skype sends SMS messages with codes to that number.
To get to these settings, log into your Skype account here on the Skype web site using the "Account" link at the top of this page.  You'll see a screen that would include your current Caller ID settings, and a link to change that.  If your Online Number is from one of those countries I referenced above, just select it and you're done.
    Hope that helps!

  • Hyper-v Live Migration not completing when using VM with large RAM

    hi,
i have a two node server 2012 R2 cluster hyper-v which uses 100GB CSV, and 128GB RAM across 2 physical CPU's (approx 7.1GB used when the VM is not booted), and 1 VM running windows 7 which has 64GB RAM assigned, the VHD size is around 21GB and the BIN file
is 64GB (by the way do we have to have that, can we get rid of the BIN file?).
NUMA is enabled on both servers, when I attempt to live migrate i get event 1155 in the cluster events, the LM starts and gets into 60 something % but then fails. the event details are "The pending move for the role 'New Virtual Machine' did not complete."
however, when i lower the amount of RAM assigned to the VM to around 56GB (56+7 = 63GB) the LM seems to work, any amount of RAM below this allows LM to succeed, but it seems if the total used RAM from the physical server (including that used for the
VMs) is 64GB or above, the LM fails.... coincidence since the server has 64GB per CPU.....
    why would this be?
    many thanks
    Steve

    Hi,
I turned NUMA spanning off on both servers in the cluster - I assigned 62 GB, 64GB and 88GB and each time the VM started up no problems. with 62GB LM completed, but I cant get LM to complete with 64GB+.
my server is a HP DL380 G8, it has the latest BIOS (I just updated it today as it was a couple of months behind), i cant see any settings in BIOS relating to NUMA so i'm guessing it is enabled and cant be changed.
    if i run the cmdlt as admin I get ProcessorsAvailability : {0, 0, 0, 0...}
if i run it as standard user i get ProcessorsAvailability
my memory and CPU config are as follows, hyper-threading is enabled for the CPU but I dont

  • Blackberry Desktop for Mac Is Not Complete - Still Have to Use PC Version Sometimes

Blackberry Desktop for Mac is incomplete in this way - if your OS gets wiped out (as it wants to do upon initial install, as it tries to update your BB OS) - and if it gets hung in the process - as happened to me - then the ONLY way to fix is to go BACK to a PC and use the PC version of Blackberry Desktop.
It's incredible, but that is what I learned.  I installed Blackberry Desktop for Mac.  It  wanted to initiate an OS upgrade first thing.  I allowed it to do so and it wiped out the OS on my Blackberry.  Leaving me with a 507 error.  I called Verizon.  They switched me to Blackberry.  Blackberry said I could only get clear of the 507 error by finding a PC - somewhere - and installing Blackberry Desktop for PC on that PC.
Blackberry then switched me back to Verizon, and they said that since I didn't have a PC, they had to send me a new Blackberry - and they had to charge me for it! (They said that the local Verizon store could not repair the OS).
I refused to pay $50+ for a new phone necessitated by the failure of Blackberry Desktop for Mac to be able to deal with a 507 error.  I spoke to Blackberry Support, again (this was about a 6 hour process), and they admitted that the provider - Verizon - did not support some sort of feature in the OS initialization process, meaning that Blackberry Dektop for Mac could not be used, one has to use Blackberry Desktop for PC no matter what in some circumstances (such as a 507 error upon OS upgrade).
Blackberry switched me back to Verizon.  This time, Verizon stated that the local Verizon store could upload a new OS.  So I shlepped off to the local Verizon store and, another hour later, they installed the new OS.
Once the new OS was installed, Blackberry Desktop for Mac was able to synch and works just fine (much better than PocketMac).  However, my fear is that when the next OS update comes out, if the same thing happens again (i.e., if the OS update freezes again), I will be left having to either look for a PC somewhere to run Blackberry Desktop for PC, or go to the Verizon store.
So, word to the wise.  Blackberry Desktop for Mac is not complete vis-a-vis Verizon.  It cannot be complete if they tell you that you have to use Blackberry Desktop for PC in certain circumstances.

This is often the problem with the new features that Apple implement more and more for each functionalities and moving them to "the cloud" (iCloud).
Thus physically removing the files from the Mac makes the BBDM (logically) unable to sync with no-more existing files on the computer...
This is the case currently for the address book and iCal. I guess that new functionalities in iTunes might have the same effect. Haven't you enabled new features recently in iTunes?
    Like "iTunes match" for example?...

  • I Published a report on the report server but it's not showing in the internal application we use to access reports

    Hi,
I Published a report on the report server but it's not showing in the internal application we use to access reports. The name of the application we use is called MAMA and this application has access to all the reports on the SQL report server. My email is
[email protected] my cell phone number is 201-888-7952.
    Thanks.

    Hi Roger,
Based on my understanding, you publish a report on the report server. When you access reports with internal application, the report doesn’t display, right?
In your scenario, since you mentioned you have published the report to report server, please go to report manager, check if you can see the published report and open the report properly. If the published report is displayed on report manager, it should not
be the issue in Reporting Services. In this scenario, since the MAMA application has established connection with on report server, it may not update items on report server after you publish your report onto report server. So please try to “refresh” in MAMA
or reconnect the report server. If issue persists, I suggest you contact the MAMA application vendor to get some more effective advices.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Best regards,
    Qiuyun Yu

  • FaceTime will not complete calls on MBA

Ever since activating Facetime on my iPhone 4S (linked to PTN), incoming and outgoing Facetime calls to my MBA (linked to my AppleID) will not complete.
I had initially had my appleID and PTN linked to the iPhone so all Facetime calls would go to the phone, however I have since dissociated my AppleID from the 4S (Setting>Facetime) and only my phone number can be used for the phone, on which I can receive and make Facetime calls.
Since dissociating my AppleID from the phone and is now only associated with the MBA, when I place Facetime calls to my AppleID using my wife's 4S, the calls go nowhere eventually timing out, and when I place calls from the MBA, the calls go nowhere and error out (to phone numbers and AppleIDs). I surmise this is some issue to do with my AppleID being jacked, I have tried associating a different AppleID to Facetime on the MBA with the same result.
A peripheral, but possibly related issue has occured with the iMessages beta on the MBA, with which I cannot send iMessages to phone numbers, getting a red exclamation point, error which I cannot seem to resolve. The same primary AppleID is associated with this account.
I'd brought the machine and phones into the Genius Bar only to receive shrugs.
I had found this article, however it is more general and unanswered: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15597730?searchText=FaceTime%20will%20not% 20complete%20calls%20on%20mac#15597730
Many thanks to anyone who can help with this request!

I'm trying to connect (using FaceTime) my iPod Touch (4g, in Florida) to another iPod Touch (4g, in Utah).  We have different Apple IDs.  We are on different wi-fi networks.  If she calls me I see the word "Connecting", but it never connects.  I can successfully use FaceTime with any other Apple device I "call".  What could cause a problem connecting with that one person?
